Koobideh wrap and strawberry date salad.
    Kristina F.

Touting fresh ingredients and a scratch kitchen, Panini Kabob Grill has established itself as a spot to get some healthy Mediterranean-inspired food. But like for real, it's super basic and way overpriced. I don't know how I hyped this place up in my mind, but man I was so disappointed. The food quality was not the worst, and maybe we went on an off night, but the food came out cold and disappointing and the servers seemed tapped out. I tried: Strawberry Date Salad: The salad was soggy and covered in so much sweet dressing the poor spring mix didn't even stand a chance. Koobideh Wrap: quite possibly one of the driest, saddest wraps I've had the misfortune of eating. Meat tasted fine but the texture was off (and there was like zero char, it's like they steamed the kebab but then forgot to grill it). Like for real, the bag of beef kebab from the frozen section of Trader Joe's would win against this one in a fight. Big sad. My depressed little wrap of dryness desperately needed sauce, which they forgot to plate....and it took over 15 minutes for my introverted family to even make eye contact with ANY of the servers in the entire restaurant. Like they were all literally walking around looking at their shoes or something. And given that there seemed to be a lot of them working across the restaurant, I have no idea how they didn't crash into each other. The only good thing we ate was the hummus. Hummus is the hero of this review. If you're gonna brave this place, make sure to get the hummus. You're probably gonna need it.

This place has been around for while in Cerritos but I don't know why this is the first time I'm trying it. It is located right across Cerritos mall near Target. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Seating is nice and clean. We started off with the humas trio which was quite good but not the best I've tasted. I do have to say the rest of the food we had was really good with fairly large portions. I feel this is probably the best Mediterranean food place in Cerritos as we have several others. I would definitely recommend you give this place a try.

Gotta love me some Chicken Kabob... so I gave this place a shot. The food was good. Great? No. But good. WELL then... WHY only 3 stars? Huh? Service was ATROCIOUS. I waited quite a long time to have my order taken, no refills on my water, and I had to chase down my waiter for my bill. And it wasn't just me. A single woman came in about 20 minutes after me, sat directly across from me... she even mentioned that she was ready to order when she sat down. but waiter walked away and she waited... and waited... and she finally got up and left. I saw - what I think was a manager stop her - they spoke - she shook her head and left. You guys gotta do better! If YOU go here... best of luck to you.

The food was excellent, but the service was just okay. Our table was dirty, and even after asking the waiter to clean it, it never got done. He also spent most of the time in the kitchen and wasn't very attentive, especially since we were seated outside so sitting indoors might be a better option next time. The ambiance is family-friendly and kid-oriented, and outdoor seating is pet-friendly. Overall, the food was great!

This was our first visit to the Cerritos location, and certainly won't be the last. We frequent the Long Beach location, and opted for Cerritos today, as it was more convenient. Parking can suck. Between the amount of people that visit the plaza for the various restaurants, mall traffic, and very narrow, horribly painted parking lines, it can be nightmare getting in and out of the lot. The one major difference between this location and the Long Beach location has to be the service. We were seated right away with no wait, whereas we would usually have to wait a bit to be seated at the Long Beach restaurant, even when it's almost empty. The servers were very attentive, and checked up on us quite often. There was no bickering or attitude just because you flagged down someone who covers another section. The food was just about as good as the other location, although both locations tend to char/burn their peppers and onions a bit.

Been here a few times now and finally have a chance to get my review in but maybe it doesn't count? I've been a fan of Panini Kabob Grill when I first started going to the DTLA one.....and even better they have a huge outdoor area which is Dog Friendly....so of course we bring our dogs there..... Dogs + Food + Vegan Options = WINNER! Worked out perfectly for friends and myself I typically get the Falafel Platter or Wrap..... I always recommend the tiramisu for people to try since I think it is still made in house..... Definitely will be back again with or without the pooches....

I love our Panini Grills in San Diego and was thrilled to see there's a location in Cerritos as well! It's located in the shopping complex across the street from the Cerritos mall. Although there is a large parking lot, there are so many restaurants densely packed together that during the dinner rush, it was hard to get in and out of the complex. We were passing by on the way home and decided to stop by for dinner. I love how their restaurants are always big with plenty of tables and chairs so there's no wait. This location has a very big outdoor patio which was all covered in addition to their indoor dining area. We always get the family combo which includes a large plate of rice and your choice of 2 kebabs and 2 salads. There was enough food for 4-5 people and a great price for what you get. We also love the hummus trio which is a must try appetizer. The food was fresh and tasty. Service was friendly and professional. My only issue is why do the kebabs always have to be so charred lol....i get the food has to cook all the way but the amount of burnt food we consume isn't healthy either. All in all, a good Mediterranean option in this area!

Located across from the Cerritos mall. It is in a shopping center with plenty of parking but it can get crowded. We went in on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm and we were seated right away. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. The server was great, checked in on us multiple times. I got the chicken pesto panini with a Cesar salad. The chicken was so juicy. Full of flavor. My boyfriend got the chicken parm which I liked a little more tbh! You can't go wrong with either one though. We also got a side of humus and pita bread which was absolutely delicious. I would definitely get this as a little appetizer before your meal. I don't know why I didn't try this place sooner! If you're in the area, definitely check it out.

Absolutely delicious. This is one of my favorite places to eat. I normally visit the Burbank location. This location is the same offering indoor and outdoor seating. This visit I ordered the family meal for me. Not for 3 but for me. It was all for me. It came with 2 grilled chicken kabobs, rice and salad. My plan was to have food for the week. It was exactly what I needed. Everything was off the hook. Be sure to do half and half on the rice. I am a fan.

Walked in as I had taken a friend to super-cuts in same shopping mall. All other restaurants seemed depressing. This one had nice outdoor and indoor area. Walked in and sat inside which was nice. Ordered Chicken Cesar wrap and had a side greek salad and it also came with a small hummus. My friend had the pesto chicken panini. Portions were generous- you can split one of these. I took half home for a friend. Service for us was great and wine and beer list was great. prices for sandwiches and wraps are very reasonable considering quality and portions. Will go back!

I used to frequent the downtown La locations so I am glad one opened up in Cerritos! I did an online order and the food was ready when I got there. Combo kaboom box: chicken skewer and beef kabob. Delicious! Chicken was nice and tender. Came with a good amount of food- rice, pita bread. Choice of hummus Falafel: good but a little on the dry side

Terrible service from the white lady with glasses. My husband accompanied me to the restroom since my arm is partially disabled and i need help. She was banging on the door, my husband said it's busy and she proceeded to bang on the door. When we opened the door she said oh it's because someone needed to use the restroom..... um ok??? even if they did, the proper thing to do is to stop banging on the door after the first time but even then the tab by the knob said IN USE. It was harassment and she didn't even apologize afterwards. We told our family and we all agreed we would not be returning after today. Food was ok don't recommend. LONG BEACH LOCATION IS WAY BETTER AND HAS AMAZING SERVICE!!! Will never be back here

    Chicken Wrap

The spinach wrap was actually really good, and that's saying a lot because I hate spinach. Yet here I am finishing a chicken-filled spinach wrap plate with no complaints. The salad was also well seasoned, someone definitely has a good touch with seasoning back there. What I don't understand is why this place is so empty. The food is solid, the ambience is pleasant, and everything, from the tables to the surrounding area, is clean and well kept. The music was a great touch too: a nice Italian 90s mix with strong vocals, which I especially appreciated as someone who speaks Italian. Overall, a surprisingly enjoyable experience.

There is a bell that you have to ring in order to get one. Remember to get it! It's very tender. The salad section was great. It had a good variety of greens, and they were all dressed and seasoned very well. I liked the big cucumber salad and the kale with pita chip salad the most. The pita chips as croutons were very nice and crispy. The hummus section was awesome. My favorite one is the green one. I think it's avocado? You should try them all! Don't get filled up on it, though--save room for the meats! Besides the lamb shank, I liked the kofta and the gyro. The first batch of kofta I had was very juicy, and the second was more on the drier side. Same goes for the gyro. It was cut kind of thick and was a little dry. The garlic sauce they have went very well with it! I also got the beets, and they were my favorite item. They were sweet and tender, cooked to perfection. The cantaloupe and honeydew were both very sweet. I think that's kind of hard to come by these days. Their pudding was okay, not my favorite. I also tried the baklava, and it is definitely one of the better ones I have ever had. Definitely recommend this place, and I will come back.

They sort of got an Indian mix in their buffet, the problem is that the curry is watered down, and the chicken over done or too loose. Luckily I'm not here for the Indian food. The grilled veggies was the real star of the show, I can't wait to go again to try their greens, but since there's that recall I'm playing safe, looked amazing though. The lamb was tender and great, although it's one shank per person there is a lamb rice dish on the buffet line and you can get more lamb meat. The beef kebab is pretty standard and the rose water is uniquely good. Although I did water mine down a little to reduce the sweetness. The desserts are great, usually the fruits at buffets aren't sweet but these were! The pasteries felt like it was Greek restaurant grade. Would come here again when I'm in the area, the price is great if you typically can eat two plates - cost of plates nowadays are too much elsewhere.

Having lived in Beijing and eaten Uyghur-style food out in the streets and in established…read morerestaurants as I traveled around, I was unbelievably excited to find this restaurant near home. However, it left me wanting more. I do wonder about the plethora of high reviews, because from my standpoint of having had a lot of Uyghur-style food abroad and my husband who had never had any, this place disappointed in taste. Ambiance (3/5): It was large, brightly lit and clean, but being so empty, it felt kind of sterile in there due to the lack of air flow and a TV blaring Spanish infomercials. I think it would add to the mood if they played some light instrumental music. Service (3/5): There was one waitress the whole time we were there and other than taking our order, she didn't come by much. I had to go to her twice to ask for things, including asking about rice. It was weird that she let us order without letting us know that we had to order rice separately. Yes...unlike most Chinese restaurants that automatically serve complimentary rice with main course dishes, you have to order rice and it's charged per bowl. Yikes. Food (3/5): We ordered the spicy Sichuanese boiled fish, lamb skewers and popcorn chicken. Admittedly, the fish and chicken dish aren't very Uyghur, and for that, it's our fault. However, the fish just was not close to anything I've had elsewhere, and not in a good way. It wasn't that spicy and it didn't have that signature mala kick. It was also salty. This was probably the most disappointing. The popcorn chicken was called something else on the menu, but it was essentially a big order of what you'd get at a Taiwanese boba shop. My kids loved it but I questioned why we ordered boba shop food on a dish. If anything were to right the wrongs, I expected the lamb skewers to be perfect at the price for four and it being a major Uyghur specialty. While the smell of the spices was accurate, the chunks of lamb were dry and tough that even my husband who had zero expectations mentioned what I noticed. I'm giving this place 3 stars for it being a unique restaurant that tries, but at the price point and quality of food, we both didn't feel that it would be a place we would visit again. The empty restaurant during peak dinner hours might have been a hint. But if you have restrictions such as needing to eat Halal food, then this restaurant offers some different dishes, so that may be its huge plus.
