Here is what you get if you order from this specific location: -LAST NIGHTS COLD OLD CRUNCHY MEAT (BEEF AND CHICKEN) -ROTTEN SLIMEY STINKY TOMATOES (SMELLED LIKE BODY ODOR) All three times I tried to eat here it was always the same guy all by himself handling a line of people who don't know how bad this place is. I am on a diet, so I am always looking for something healthy on these days. I went to The Halal Guys on Friday night. There were very few customers and the lady who seems to be a manager was working alone. I ordered one beef/chicken regular size platter. It was outstanding, because the platter had many different fresh vegetables such as tomatoes, lettuce, and onions. Also the red rice cooked perfect, so it was very soft to eat. Beef and Chicken were soft too, and had good amount of seasonings. Their signature white sauce paired perfect with the platter that I ordered. My only complaint was the pita bread, because it was as dry as sponge. Every time when I make a visit here, I always get warm welcome feeling, because the staffs are attentive, and interior of the restaurant is really clean with many comfortable looking tables. Disappointed the first time I tried it(different location.) Tried to give it another try for lunch, disappointed again. The food I ordered was room temp and incorrect, in addition the rice was bland, spicy chicken had a goop of sweet bbq flavored sauce on it without any spice. My order didn't include the limited time lamb and beef combo which I really wanted to try. Lastly the refresher was expensive and overly sweet. I really try to look for the good at food places, but it was really hard to find here. There are three middle eastern food spots in this shopping center, but some meat, rice, a bit of veggies and white sauce from halal guys was sounding the best. I ordered ahead online and when I went to pick up my order, the vibes in the store felt off and the workers just didn't feel welcoming. On the way home, I had the chicken wings which were pretty good. Crispy, juicy, and had a good little kick of spice. I ordered a regular plate with beef and chicken and jalapeños. The only flavor coming from this plate before the white sauce were from the jalapeños. The chicken was super dry, rice was bland, and the beef was so dry and chewy at the same time. My partner got a small platter with bbq chicken. Her chicken was decent since it was covered in bbq sauce. But the pita bread was stale and raw at the same time? My guess is they were stale and they tried to steam them, but they were just extra wet and gross The baklava just tasted like it was drenched in sugar water and super soggy. It even leaked out of the box. I didn't even take pics because I was so upset with how bad almost everything tasted. Spent a bunch of money just to throw almost all of it away. We came to buy 3 plates of food on Saturday night, around 9pm thirty minutes before closing. Me and my brother were served our 2 mixed plates by a kind female server with glasses (I regret that I forgot her name but I know it starts with an M). The portions she gave were very fair and her service was great. However, when my parents ordered their plate, they were served by Katie and her portion giving was totally subpar! They ordered a gyro only plate and she gave two half scoops that equaled up to one normal scoop. Then, when my parents asked her if that was the right proportions, she said yes and proceeded to want to charge them for an extra scoop. On top of that, her attitude and service were terrible and unwelcoming. We've been going here for years and it has always been a hit or miss with the employee serving the portions. But to be honest, more times than not we have experienced very skimpy servers. It's too bad because the food is great, but when the servers are trained to be too skimpy, it reminds us of Chipotle and we are just so tired of spending our money here when the portion isn't at all equal to the price. I really hope the owners and management can train all their employees to give a fair, decent sized portions, especially in this economy. Super disappointed with this Halal Guys. The food and service quality has gone way downhill. First off, the lady who seemed to be the manager had a bad attitude and zero energy. I was the only customer in there, and now I see why it was empty. Secondly, I asked for my white and BBQ sauce on the side got tiny cups and hardly any BBQ in there. The lettuce was big chunks of romaine that tasted spoiled, and the whole platter looked horrible. I've been coming here for years since I live five minutes away, but it's not the same anymore. We ordered a couple bowls; I got the chicken and my husband had beef shwarma and falafel. They cooked the falafel fresh when we ordered, so it was hot a fresh and tasted great! The rest of the food was good too. It came with a packet of white sauce which is mild and creamy but adds a good flavor to the food. Everything was fresh and even my daughter enjoyed it. Nothing wrong with the food but it felt very...simple? I'm not sure what it was but it felt like this was underseasoned or something. It was delicious but it seems that other similar food I have had felt more "authentic" and this might be a little bit more for the American palate. Not really a complaint, but if you like similar places with bold flavors, you might not find those bold flavors here. All in all it was a tasty and healthy lunch. This location is the best! I've been here a few times now and each time I always leave with great service. My husband and I typically order the chicken platters. My husband gets his with everything and extra white sauce. My order, on the other hand, I get with rice and EXTRA lettuce. We base our ratings of service on how well the staff listens. I always leave feeling extra appreciative that they give me a lot of lettuce and make sure its enough in my container. Food quality is great and the inside is always clean. I ordered a chicken and falafel platter. The premade food looked like something out of an elementary school cafeteria. The server put together my platters the same way I remember the old cafeteria lady would. And by old I mean dead inside. The kind of lifer that gives no F's anymore. I was hopeful the food tasted better than it looked. I was wrong. The chicken tasted like it was unseasoned, boiled, chopped, placed in a bag for a month, and reheated. The "white" sauce didn't have much more flavor, but it made my platter edible at least. The place was pretty dirty. I saw the server switching between mopping/sweeping and serving without hand washing. The whole place was dirty. To make matters worse my two platters cost over $40. I'd have let it all slide if it was $10 a plate or something. I paid $40 for cafeteria food and their marketing budget. Never coming back here again. read more

There was a lot of hype surrounding the original Halal Guys in New York and when they expanded to California, I heard from a lot of people that it wasn't the same. Granted, I haven't tried the original New York location and don't have it to compare to, but I'd say that food here is really solid despite what everyone says and I actually enjoy it a lot!! During my last visit, I ordered the limited edition spiced sizzlin chicken sandwich and it was SO good! To start off, this sandwich is LOADED and I love how they don't skimp out on the meat here. The meat itself is juicy and flavorful and all the other ingredients in the sandwich complemented it so well. They offer white and red sauce, which I recommend having both of, but be warned, the red sauce can be SPICY if you have a lot of it. Overall, I love the sandwich and for under $12, it's well worth the price given the quality and the quantity of it. I checked in on Yelp and also got an order of free fries (YAY!). I honestly didn't expect much from the fries here but they're actually some of the best fast food fries I've had; I don't know what about it makes them so special but they really stood out to me. If you're thinking about ordering the fries, this is your sign to just do it, because trust me, you won't regret it! My one complaint about my experience is that service is a bit slow. It looked like there was only a single employee taking orders and making the food, so it was understandable, but it's something worth noting if you're hoping to get your food quickly. The store itself has a decent amount of seating and was clean. It is located in the same plaza as Target, so there was a decent amount of parking. I return today and sadly the chicken and sauce just did not have anywhere close to the flavor it used to have. I don't know what has changed, but it is very disappointing. The customer service was fantastic. Although I didn't ask for much other than a simple dish, he was friendly and smiled, and was very courteous which he couldn't ask for more than that. But solely based on the taste of the food in comparison to how it was Sadly I have to give it a very poor rating of two stars. Haven't been here in quite some time, maybe almost a year. Used to love this place. They changed the rice it's got a red orange color now instead of the old yellow color and it tastes different too. I always get the chicken and gyro platter and both the meats didn't taste like they used to. The chicken was especially disappointing it had little tendon or hard bits in several of the pieces I had to spit out. That's never happened before. The hummus also tasted different and I think the white sauce recipe has changed too. Didn't even finish the plate. I don't know if it's just this franchise or a chain wide change but based on this visit I don't think I'll be getting food here anymore sadly. read more

Stopped by to get take out for dinner. I got the regular combo platter with fries on the side. Don't forget to check-in on Yelp for the free fries! The ordering process was simple. Line assembly of your food basically. For sauces, I get the bbq sauce (brown sauce) and white sauce on the side. Paid for my food, marked the check-in offer as used, and just had to wait for the fries to finish cooking. We probably waited 5-10 minutes for the fries but they were worth the wait. The quality of the food was great. Still tasty the next day as leftovers. The fries were salted well and due to the innovative box they weren't soggy since they got some air.
