Super fresh ingredients but just expensive. (I would minus one star for the cost though...) Food quality and flavors -- 5 stars! I tried the kid's meal (mini version of build your own bowl, pita chips or pita, and milk or juice), since I didn't want to eat too much, but the portion was super tiny like it was for little little kids. Over $9 including tax. There are a lot of options of toppings and sauces to choose from, but there are limited toppings (limit 2) to add since it is a kid's meal. I got pita bread, brown rice as my base, tzatziki dip (good!), grilled chicken, two toppings (tomato + onion and sumac slaw), and garlic dressing. I loved everything that I got! The cucumber mint lime drink was surprisingly good! I don't usually like mint, but it wasn't overpowering. All the flavors balanced out every well. The interior is very nice and spacious. Lots of seatings. Service was good. Parking was easy too. Came before 12, right before the busy lunch hour, so I didn't have to wait too long. Line got really long when I was leaving though. I've never experienced service this bad at a CAVA. I waited in line for 20 minutes, and there was only one employee taking orders, preparing food, and working the register. Meanwhile, the other employees seemed more focused on online orders while the customers standing in line continued to wait. After 25 minutes, I finally decided to leave without being served. This experience was incredibly disappointing and honestly ruined my love for CAVA. Management really needs to improve the staffing and customer service at this location. Being located directly across from one of the busiest courthouses, you would think they would be more considerate of their customers' time, especially during busy hours. Good option for Mediterranean food. First time visiting Cava and we were actually impressed with the concept. You can choose their pre-set menu of wraps or bowels or you can make your own, choosing your base (rice and/or veggies) and your protein as well as choice of toppings. We got the Garlicky Shawarma chicken bowel and the Falafel Crunch Bowel. We liked how healthy the falafel crunch bowel was as well as the flavors. The Shawarma was good as well with every bite being a little different because of the various toppings. Only complaint would be that the Falafel Crunch Bowel only comes with 2 falafel balls. We also enjoyed the variety of drinks. We tried the pineapple apple mint and the cucumber mint. They were both refreshing and not too sweet. We went on a Saturday late afternoon and there was a steady stream of customers. What I did notice was that some of the people who ordered ahead had to wait for their food. Came here yesterday in the late afternoon with some coworkers before heading over to the AMC across the street to watch Spider-Man. My boss and I came before my other 2 coworkers, we looked through the menu and decided what we wanted, we ordered through the app since there was a line forming, I didn't really know what to get so I just got the chicken gyro with the lime cucumber drink. My boss got the strawberry salmon salad. He told me the drinks are pretty good. My opinion is that all the drinks tasted flat, almost like water down, doesn't really taste like any fruits at all, maybe a hint. My chicken gyro was cold, I thought it would be a little warm since is made with the pita bread, and it was salty. Maybe is the olives or the chicken. Nothing fancy about it, I tried it and I don't like it. I thought it would taste like the ones I got when I was working in Santa Monica Third Street Promenade many many years ago, there was a Greek restaurant right across from my work and I ordered that chicken gyro 3 times a week and it was delicious, it was warm, filled with big chunks of chicken, the yogurt dressing was just the right amount, it was delicious. I haven't had Greek food in a long time and I thought this place would be good. It wasn't the same tasting, not enough yoghurt dressing, it was too salty and is cold. The pita chips were salty for my taste and I also ordered the pita bread with hummus, interestingly the pita bread was warm. It was ok too. After I finished eating half way through, my other coworkers showed up and by the time they ordered, I had finished eating lol My boss asked how was their food and they said it was good, one of the guys said " ok, this is enough Healthy for him " lol I think he ordered the simplest one, the chicken salad. Overall, it was ok for me, would I come back ? Probably not, with their healthy protein salad, it reminded me of the Hawaiian poke places. Similar concept. The only reason for the 4 stars is because my boss and coworkers like it. My boss pays so I have to say is good and he chooses the place to eat. He asked me to choose a different place because I looked at the menu and nothing was appetizing to me, I would of went to Pho Anv up the street. Cava is my go to! I had no idea Norwalk had a location, but I was commuting from the South Bay and decided to stop because I was starving. There was no line (which honestly surprised me), but I wasn't complaining. The restaurant was clean, service was friendly, and everything looked fresh and fully stocked. Not what I expected. I read the reviews about the stinginess in portions and they were not lying. I ordered the salmon bowl, nicely advertised outside the place, to be surprised with a sliver of salmon big enough for a 5 year old's appetite. Not worth the price. The meat on my other bowls was dry and got one pita triangle per plate despite spending almost $100 on 5 bowls (1-child's plate). The only thing I liked was the BYO veggie bowl. Unfortunately, our experience here was really disappointing. From the beginning, one of the staff members had a very rude and unpleasant attitude toward us. I understand that everyone has bad days, but the way we were treated was unnecessary. My sister had a gift card and had already gotten her bowl. When she went to have it scanned, the employee told her that she had to order it online. We had never been told this before, and it was confusing because we were already there with the bowl. What made the situation worse was that the employee took my sister's bowl and threw it away. My sister was very upset. There was no need to handle the situation that way, and the employee's attitude throughout the interaction made the experience even worse. We would have appreciated better communication and basic courtesy. Hopefully management can address how situations like this are handled because customers should not leave feeling disrespected. read more

This location really missed the mark. The workers didn't engage at all -- no smiles, no greeting, and they looked like they didn't want to be there. Service was extremely slow; I waited in line for over 20 minutes, which makes no sense when everything is already prepped and sitting in containers. My daughter ordered a steak and harissa bowl with no slaw, tomatoes, or onions. The employee still added slaw, then tried to scoop it out, but there was still plenty mixed in when my daughter started eating. The food was still tasty and flavorful, but portions have definitely gotten smaller since my last visit. My daughter even said, "Where's the rest of my food?" Her bowl wasn't even half full. For the price you pay, that's disappointing -- at least fill the bowl or use smaller containers so it's not so noticeable. Food tastes good, as always. I've been to this new Norwalk location over 3 times since they opened. Each time I noticed my portions are a lot smaller than other locations (see photos attached for comparison). Each time, the customer service is a little rough, but let's give them grace because they just opened a few weeks ago. I can tell they're very flustered and deal with lots of rude customers. The employees seem to be running very low on patience and could be a lot nicer. I don't think they realize we can see them rolling their eyes and sighing. The girl up on the front on sauces/dressings, with glasses- shes given me a bit of attitude more than once now :( I'm hoping once the chaos dies down, they could be a little nicer because I truly go out of my way to not be a rude customer only to be met with less than great customer service every single time. read more

They offer iced tea but no type of sweetener. Last night we were a party of 5 and had only 1 table that would seat us all yet it had note not to use it. I was told the chairs were broken. The employee suggested outside - it was 89 degrees. They made NO offer to bring in any additional chairs. I said I expected the business would meet the minimum a customer. needed.
