I can't wait to go back to Green Olive~ this place is officially one of my all-time favorites now. Everything we tried tasted so fresh, flavorful and taste so good together. The meats were juicy and perfectly seasoned, the veggies tasted crisp and fresh, and all the sauces just brought everything together so well. This is the kind of food that make you feel comforting but still feels clean. Honestly, it's one of those authentic Mediterranean spots that just does everything right. If you haven't been yet, you definitely need to check them out~ you'll get it after the first bite

Came here after being recommended for their Mediterranean food, and overall it was a solid experience. The filet mignon wrap was the star of the meal--super flavorful and cooked just right. Definitely something I'd come back for. I also tried the chicken kebab, which was a bit on the dry side, and the baklava didn't really hit for me--it tasted pretty dry and not as fresh as I'd hoped. The place was very busy when I went, so that might have played a role in the food quality, especially the chicken. Even with that, I'd still give them another shot and would recommend checking them out--just stick with the filet mignon wrap.

Great neighborhood restaurant serving up delicious, healthy and quick Mediterranean food. Servings are pretty large so I ended up taking half my lunch home because it was a lot. Good and efficient customer service. Wish it was closer to my home because I would frequent this place.

Green Olive is a fast casual restaurant serving their authentic Mediterranean food located in Downey. They use only the best quality meat and fresh vegetables and ingredients to make their dishes. And for those curious minds, they do cook in extra virgin olive oil. Their portions are very generous for the price you pay. I ended up ordering the shrimp kabobs platter, home style spicy potatoes, and baklava for dessert. Their potatoes have a crunchy outer texture yet somehow is still soft in the center. I loved that texture! Their platter came with yogurt dip, hummus, and spicy green sauce. Within the first bite, you can tell the vegetables were fresh and the spicy green sauce added a nice layer of depth to the crunch. The shrimp was grilled to perfection and I just kept wanting to come back to it. The hummus and yogurt sauce were also made fresh in house. Finally the baklava came out afterwards and it was amazing! It had the most perfect crunch and flakiness. The center brought the entire experience together with its sweetness and addition layer of crunchiness from the pistachio and walnuts. Come on over! Jacky was super vigilant on following up and provided top notch service!!! I love the vibe and how it brings all people of color here and a togetherness. There are mor seatings outside!!!

I went to try this spot on 4/25. This was my first time going and when i went it was pretty busy, seems like they had a lot of online/phone orders. I waited in line for about 10 minutes. The customer service was good though, the nice bald guy at the register was giving me suggestions on what to try. I ordered the chicken kabob wrap and the filo spinach. Both of them tasted sooo gooddd!! The wrap was juicy, the chicken cooked to perfection, and the little side of potatoes was truly the cherry on the top... overall great place with great food. Just be mindful of the waiting time!!

Ok Downey! My tastebuds are very satisfied after tasting another one of your delicious gems! I'm not big on Mediterranean but I've definitely changed my mind now. I started with the Chicken Kabob Plate that came with juicy pieces of breast that were bathed in spicy lemon garlic sauce, so so tender and delicious. Next was the Filet Mignon and the charred Shrimp. Mmm mmm! That marinade made this dish bang! It was accompanied by the Tabouli salad that was really refreshing and that olive oil lemon juice made me smile with a happy squint, LoL. To end the delicious experience was a piece of their Baklava. Oh yeah! Pistachios and Walnuts in a dessert? Oh yeah it's definitely my jam! So lip smacking tasty. The service was amazing and attentive. Indoor seating available but if you like dining alfresco there's a nice eye pleasing patio for that. And that's my take on it, Peace, I'm out!

Best gyro sandwich I've had. Lots of meat, with tons of flavor. The sauce and the onions mix perfectly with the sandwich. The potatoes on the side light in flavor and complement the meal very well. Place is clean and definitely delicious. I'm definitely coming back to try their other food

Where do I start? The amazing customer service? The delicious food? The huge portions? The best Baklava I've ever had? I came here with some of my best girlfriends and immediately we were greeted by the warm staff. (we chose to eat in their outdoor seating area) The manager Yovanni was extremely hands on. I love when I go to restaurants and the managers are involved. We had Evelin take care of us. She was absolutely amazing. The owner of the green olive even owns a couple other successful restaurants. So you know this place is going to be good We came at an odd hour and it wasn't too crowded. So we got to talk to Evelin. There's only been a few times where I was completely blown away by the customer service, and this was one of them. They treat you like family. We ordered our food and the manager came out and suggested we pull another table up to ours to make more room. And then we saw why lol. There was so much food coming out. Our server, Evelin and manager Yovanni just kept coming in and out of the kitchen with a never ending supply of food (they even brought out tons of sauces and fresh warm pita for us) For drinks they have soft drinks, bottled water, coffee, a selection of beer and wine. We did get our hands on some individual little bottles of bubbly to toast since it was a celebration I ordered the vegetarian plate which came with hummus, falafel and a small salad. Pita Chips with Tzatziki also came out. I was in heaven. I can live off of pita chips with FRESH Tzatziki and hummus Kibbi Stuffed Meat Balls, which I've never had before. But now I'm a fan. Home Style Spicy Potatoes. These had a perfect little kick to it! These thin spicy potatoes hit the spot. It was the perfect balance and went well with all the fresh salad and fresh dips / sauce The big Greek salad tasted just as good as it looked. The Green Olive Platter came with a Beef Kabob, Beef Kafta, Chicken Kabob, 2 Falafels, 2 dolmas, rice, hummus & salad This platter seems to be one of their most popular dishes. I can't say this enough, the food is extremely fresh and you can taste all the delicious spices. Nothing was overpowering, nothing was smothered in salt. This was just good, fresh food with great ingredients. Chefs kiss (At this point my head was spinning with all this food) I know I'm forgetting other items that our table ordered (we all tried a bite or two of each others dishes) I think it's safe to say, we all went home with to go boxes for later. They brought out a few different desserts. Including a birthday tiramisu (with a birthday candle) And the best baklava I've ever had in my life (No, seriously. It was the best I've ever had) This place had such a warm atmosphere. It was literally like eating at a family get together Thank you, Green Olive for taking care of this party of 5 and making us feel like we were the only ones there. And thank you Lynn, Nikki, tesee and Ella for coming with me and for the warm birthday wishes and gifts 5 stars for service 5 stars for LARGE portions 5 stars for cleanliness 5 stars for value 5 stars for how fresh the food was 5 stars for parking (they have up close spots they share with other businesses)

Whatever you decide to choose at Green Olive, you cannot go wrong. Everything tastes absolutely delicious. The place is usually packed, and there is reason why, the food is great and the service is exceptional. We were greeted by Yovanni, the manager, who was very friendly and helpful. We had the Chicken kebab with shrimp kebab with hummus and rice pilaf. The chicken was juicy and the shrimp was perfectly seasoned. Filet mignon & kafta combo platter was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The Spicy potatoes is a must order. The Hummus was creamy and buttery. You have to order the Traditional Mediterranean Salad and Greek Salad. So fresh and the dressing bursting with flavor. I highly recommend Green Olive if you're in the Downey area.

    Celebrations call for bubbly.

Four beautiful ladies (Te-See, Ella, Lauren, & Lynn) and I met here for a celebratory lunch. The weather was perfect for sitting outside in the cozy patio. We toasted to friendship with a glass of bubbly and then proceeded to enjoy a delicious feast. Green Olive was founded by Downey resident Sam Sarofeem - an Egyptian migrant. He also owns The Olive Restobar & One 12 Café. Everything here is made to order from scratch using quality ingredients, so what you receive is fresh. The service here is also exceptional! Manager Yovanni was fantastic! He came out to check on us several times. Our server (also assistant manager), Evelin Sanchez, was the best! She had such a warm, friendly personality. We all loved her! In true foodie fashion we shared some appetizers: Fresh Pita Chips with Tzatziki (so good), Home Style Spicy Potatoes: Thinly sliced crispy potatoes tossed in a mixture of cilantro, garlic, jalapeño, & lemon juice. (Insanely good.) Kibbi (Stuffed Meat Balls), everyone said these were delish! Entrées consisted of 3 orders of The Green Olive Platter (1 Beef Kabob, 1 Beef Kafta Kabob, 1 Chicken Kabob, 2 crispy Falafels, 2 Dolmans, side of rice, Hummus, & salad). A Falafel Platter (5 Falafels, picked vegetables, olives, tomatoes, Hummus, & Tahini sauce), and my Greek Salad, which was loaded with fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, green olives, pepperoncini, & Feta cheese. Evelin also brought us sides of garlic paste, a spicy green sauce, & fresh, warm pita. The servings were generous and the prices are reasonable. Despite being stuffed, we couldn't resist the house made desserts: Baklava (Amazing!), Kunafa (Yum!), & Crème Brûlée (so good!). Yovanni, Evelin, and the other staff were sweet and surprised the birthday girl with Tiramisu and a Happy Birthday song. The food here is so incredibly delicious and the service is outstanding! I highly recommend and look forward to coming back. *Beer & Wine *Ample free parking *Catering & online ordering.

Green Olive Platter Sooo good and soooo much food!! :D

100% some of the best--if not THE best--Mediterranean food we have ever had. My husband and I both agree, this has been one of the best places we have had Mediterranean food, ever. We both ordered our own Green Olive plate. I'm not going to lie, at first I was like, dang, that's expensive. When they brought out our food, it all made sense! It offers one beef kabob, one chicken kabob, one kafta kabob, 2 crispy falafel patties and 2 dolma (stuffed grape leaves), a side salad, a huuuge serving of yellow rice, hummus, and pitas bread + sauces. It's a TON of food! I for sure had left overs for breakfast and lunch the next day. When we arrived to order in person, we noticed an article printed and posted on the glass near the register as an award winning dish. It was the Green Olive plate. It looked so delicious, we both had to order it. They also have so many good looking desserts in the refrigerator case out front. So smart! They definitely don't mess around in the restaurant about their A/C and crank it so it stays nice and cool indoors. Lots of seating indoor and outdoor which is nice. We enjoyed sitting indoor where you can see staff grilling all the meat--so you KNOW it's fresh! The TV with music videos playing is a super nice touch too! They bring your order to you piping hot! The service is friendly and very quick. We didn't wait more than 10 minutes for our food. Some constructive notes for management: the online menu can definitely be more user/visual friendly to SEE the food better. It also might be a great idea to feature your award winning articles on the website too! For sure flex that win!!! :)

    Yep , a little patio area !

Do the sauces have dairy in them?

Some do but most of them don't and if you ask they'll give you vegan ones

.., meet Whittier's Uptown hero!…read more My experience here was from 6/26/26 & it did not disappoint. Though I've been to Uptown Provisions twice before to support my friend Andrew M, as well as my other friend Andrew P. with Satori Coffee Project, this was my actual visit where I finally ate! Third times the charm! Tucked nicely into a Penn St. neighborhood, Uptown Provisions can easily be spotted by the loyal patrons waiting/dining outside. May the street parking gods be kind to you as they always provide me with a spot nearby. Knowing what I already wanted from doing my menu homework the night prior, I was practically drooling on my way in. Greeted by a great staff & friendly fellow patrons, I felt right at home. I went with the "Tom's Way" sandwich. Dedicated to one of their favorite customers, it's a crossover between an egg sandwich & a pastrami. It was perfect! Chef Aaron describes his sandos as the perfect West Coast sandwich, & that I can totally agree with. Tom's Way provided me with a robust sandwich blend that never knew I needed until now. Each component's flavor profile blended together nicely. I'm usually hit or miss with rye bread, but this rye hit the mark & held the ship together. The eggs were made with care & prepared in a way I've never tasted before, very delicious. Pastrami was tender, pickled onions provided the bitter tangy component while the broccoli slaw became the soothing blanket that nestled every flavor together. I absolutely loved my sandwich. They post a 20 minute wait time but I got mine in 15. Great things come to those who wait. They do not have a public bathroom so plan your visit accordingly. They have a few counter seats inside with plenty more outdoor seating in front with friendly locals chatting it up. Don't be shy with the napkins. Thank you Uptown Provisions for a great experience, I shall return!

Since it was our first time (thanks to tik tok!), Henry went over the menu and shared his personal favorites as well as the most popular among customers. He did tell us they are known for their sandwiches. We went with one breakfast burrito and the granada sandwich, respectfully. We had them cut in half too. We then decided to eat the burrito (she had half and I had half) and save the sandwich for dinner later that day. The breakfast burrito was pretty good. I would say 8/10. It was a good size as well which is why we shared it. Now, when we had the sandwich (shared as well) later for dinner OMG it was delicious!! Every ingredient mixed well together. So much flavor! We got jalapeño aioli as a dipping sauce and man oh man was it good! We will definitely be returning! And honestly, I can't wait! You can make any of their sandwiches into a combo plate for $3 more you get 2 sides (Mombo Meal). Their sides were good but not amazing, personally will be sticking to just their sandwiches. JALAPENO STACK -sooo good! Roast beef, turkey breast and Italian dry salami paired well together. Avocado added perfect creaminess. Their Cheesy Jalapeno Snack Bread is amazing, top had just the right amount of crisp from being toasted. FRUMENTO'S GRILLED PHILLY -opted for half roast beef and half smoked turkey breast and it was just what I needed. Solid hot sandwich. TASTE OF ITALY -a classic cold cut sandwich, it was good but their hot sandwiches were much better. Desserts were a hit or miss here. Tried the Strawberry Cheese cake and that was really good- creamy, airy and not too sweet. Tiramisu was a bust- mainly vanilla cake, bit too sweet, no espresso flavor, cream didn't have any mascarpone cheese flavor at all.

I was in the area and I've never had a cute coffee with the latte art (so many of my friends are going to roast me for this) When I pulled up -nice private parking -a staff member was outside painting on the windows with the cutest window art. The girl had talent! This place has also given back. They helped with the LA fires last year. So bonus points for places who give back. (They gave back to the Pasadena humane society) There was a pretty big line and it was pretty loud in here, but it went by very fast. My friend grabbed a table while I placed the order. -they do have a good amount of seating. The place is pretty small though. So we sat for a minute after our drinks came out and then decided to take it to go -they have latte art that changes every month. So I like they have some rotating options. It was my turn and I ordered two sugar free mocha iced coffees. One with regular foam, And mine had strawberry foam. When I told Matthew at the counter it was really important the one drink be as sugar free as possible due to my friend being diabetic, he warned us there was sugar in the foam, but he would go as light as possible. So I appreciate him warning us and taking it serious. I picked the new hello kitty art of the month (hello kitty in a bathing suit with waves and dolphins) And my friend picked from the new monthly latte art as well, and got the Kirby character Even though it was busy, it took probably 2 minutes for our drinks to be made Matthew was absolutely great. His energy, he had a smile on his face, was knowledgeable about the menu, Matthew was everything you'd want in a staff member. Just like any coffee place, you pay and give them a name for your order, and then they call your name and you pick up your coffee at the counter. These drinks hit the spot!!! It was very trendy. They had Sabrina carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo specials and they even had a Lana Del Rey latte (cinnamon girl, named after her song) only thing that bummed me out They had a case with delicious pastries. But since I came here later in the day, they only had a couple stragglers left behind -they open at 7 am, for everyone needing their morning coffee -vegan options -free WiFi -woman owned -LGBTQ owned -they give back to the community

I get it, it's New Years so we figured it would be super busy but we had someone forget their assignment for food so we ran over to get some meat. We stood at the deli counter for almost 15 minutes waiting to be helped. There were several workers working hard and several just standing around chatting and laughing. Nobody said a word to us until finally a woman said, "Are you wanting deli meat?" We said yes and she said "Go to the register" where two younger girls were laughing and talking- literally doing nothing, we walked over and asked if we could get some salami, and the girl said do you know what kind? And we said no we had some questions to which she responded "Well go back over there. They're going to be able to help you better than me." What? Why are you open at all, let alone on a holiday if you hate your customers or don't want to help anyone/work? There were very few customers inside and the employees attitude (the ones not preparing orders) was just nuts. I have 12 minutes of video, it's wild. The absolute best place you can go for sandwiches, deli meat, pretty much anything deli/Italian market is Claros in La Habra. They were closed- that's why we tried Lascaris. Claros also likes their customers so try them out. It's a win win.

If you wanna lock in and study Id suggest only coming here on the weekdays. I highly recommend their tamal, huge and tasty. Their shuco (guate hot dog) is also so flavorful and hearty. I don't drink coffee but my friend had one of their lattes and really loved it. Im more of a juice person and got their freshly squeezed OJ :3 Def recommend this place and I love the cozy café vibes. Families love to come here too so you know this is the place to be.

The waiters are really cool, very nice. This place is legit run by Guatemalans which was pretty cool. I recently visited Guatemala so it was fun to chat with the waiter who noticed my shirt (I was coincidentally wearing a shirt I bought in Guatemala with a picture of Tikal lol). Anywaaaay - I tried the trio tostadas, a tamal and a Mayan iced latte. The tostadas were great. They were very fresh. They're very simple. One is black bean, one is avacado and one is chicken salad. My favorite was the chicken salad. I used their green salsa and it was delicious. The tamales was good. Today I learned I don't really like the flavor of banana leaf that gets absorbed into the tamal. Also, it was primarily made of rice. It had a piece of bell pepper, a little chicken and I think a plum. Aside from the banana leaf I liked the tamale. The latte was delicious. Nice coffee flavor and sweetened perfectly. Definite recommend and I will for sure be back.
