Love his Green Olive. Live been coming here for years since I worked in the area I would have lunch here and it was always amazing. Food was fresh and quick. Plus they had a Hookah lounge where we sometimes took our lunch there and had a nice lunch away from the lunch crowd. Most recently I've been ordering the family feast. They are a hit with my family they love it. Plenty of food and more can be added upon request at a great price. The sauces are amazing here too. This is a secret well held among local South Bay dwellers. During lunch, lines are out the door, as many who the local industries flock to this mecca of Greek foods in amounts that would feed a hard working person. I was told to check in on Yelp, and get a free drink, which was cool of my friend to point out. My co-workers found out about this place actually in the evening, where customers are cops and truckers; always a good sign too! Their combination plates are the best, with shish kabob type cuts of meats and gyro lamb slices and shrimp too. If you are following the Soccer games or NBA Finals, no problem; they have both on two TVs. Going Green for my last 2015 review! The Green Olive is a pretty popular place with a lot of the businessmen and women around the area patronizing this eatery. We've had them deliver to the office and I also recently made my way over here for a small solo order. I was initially a little confused of it's whereabouts but I found it eventually. It was packed to the brim and the staff was working hard grilling and preparing orders. Ambiance is okay, nothing special. It's cozy, nonetheless. Food is pretty good. Their dips are yummy. Hummus on point. Yogurt & cucumber needs a little more garlic (for me at least) but nice. Baba is delicious. Jalapeno sauce is also a great touch. Overall, I'm in saucy heaven here. Not a huge fan of their falafel though. Under spiced & over blended, IMO. Dolmas (stuffed grape leaves) were good as well but I think I'm the only one that liked them in my office. Anyway, I think this is a pretty good find and will keep coming back when craving Mediterranean during my 9 to 5. read more

Tucked away in an industrial plaza, Green Olive nails it when it comes to: - fresh, delicious and healthy food - fast moving wait line, speedy preparation - comfortable eating area inside and out My go-to's here are the #9 Vegetarian Platter and the #7 Gyro & Kabob Royal. Everything is prepared on-site and super fresh. All platters are served with a side of homemade hummus, rice, a house salad, pita bread, and their famous green hot sauce, you'll be hard pressed to find another location nearby where you spend less than $10, and be as happy or satiated. Imagine the Mediterranean version of a Subway. With homemade hummus, baba ghanouj, tabouli, "grandma's" falafel, grilled tomatoes/grilled jalapenos, hand-rolled grape leaves; or tender gyro meat (lamb), chicken, shrimp, or beef - you really won't be disappointed. Parking can be a bit tricky as the store front is very small. Expect to spend a few minutes finding parking and walking over as the plaza itself is fairly large. While I was here, I noticed that without missing a beat there were two old-timers that would come by around noon everyday and play some lunch-time blues. Nothing like some live music while you inhale your lunch :) I haven't been, but I heard that at night their hookah lounge is pretty popular. This place is great! I've been scheduled at Compton Courthouse for jury duty for the past four days, three of which have been spent dining at The Green Olive. The parking is well, onerous, as The Green Olive is situated in a "food court" among five or six other cafes/eateries, and two or three other enterprises, leaving patrons to compete for the 30 parking spaces. If you do happen to secure a spot, be careful upon exiting. There are bound to be cars exiting and entering, simultaneously. I learned on my second visit to simply park on the main street and walk 1-2 minutes, instead of vying for parking in the vicinity. Don't get me wrong; while the food may be good, it's not worth catching a civil case over. This is a popular location, especially around the lunch hour. However, don't let this fact discourage you from coming midday. The service is lighting quick, whether you're dining in or taking it to go. Never do they take over five minutes. They are about their business. Also, the owner is very friendly. I ordered their Tatosix, a spiraled fried potato snack, and asked if they had any ketchup, upon inspecting my order. The man informed me that they did not have ketchup in store. However, he claimed that the establishment next store had some and that he could go retrieve some for me. Sheepishly, I walked out, and headed to my car. Just as I had settled in my car, out comes the owner with three or four ketchup packets, as promised. I was blown away. Most staff would have just left it at that. They don't carry any and that's that. It's acts like these that will have customers returning. A nice gentleman, he is. FOOD: Kebabs ____ Chicken (5/5) Steak Kebab (5/5) Kofta (5/5) I haven't much to say in regards to the kebabs, as they are well seasoned, generous in portion, and that the green sauce they give you pairs with the meats remarkably well. (I think they are priced at around $1.75-$2.25 each? Somewhere around that ballpark.) Falafel (3/5) As for the falafel, I must contest that I have had better. I wasn't too fond of the texture of the falafel. I found it to be particularly dense. It was lacking that crisp, crunchy exterior I associate with the fried vegetarian delicacy. They are priced at $0.75/ball. Feel free to be judge for yourself! Tatostix (1/5) Tatostix = Potato + Stick. Potato Stick = Spiralized fried potato on a stick. Now, that we've gotten the terminology out of the way, onto the "tatostix" itself. Let me preface this by saying I am a slut for potatoes. Baked, fried, boiled. I'll inhale me a potato. There was a picture plastered in the restaurant of the tatostix, and I thought it to have resembled something they would serve at a county fair or something to that effect. I do suppose I expected that artery clogging, deep-fried, crave-worthy quality that you associate with other foods on the stick. That is not what I got. Some two dollars later, the owner produced this swirly foot-long potato thing and reaches over the counter to hand it to me. Might I add, it "comes in" a variety of flavors: cheesy cheddar, flame grilled barbecue, garlic parmesan, salt & pepper, and a few more. Go look at my picture. There was nothing special about it. In fact, I do believe my money to have been better spent on a small fry at Jack and the Box up the street. What I received was a bland undercooked potato. The texture, similar to the falafel, was off. It was something between a cookie and a cracker. It was thin sliced like a cracker, but had the texture of a cookie. No crunch or crisp. Just megh. Also, their means of seasoning the snack is shaking a canister of artificial powdered ingredients upon removing from the frier. Would not recommend. OVERALL: Excellent service and great quality food (4.5/5 stars) *Just skip the tatostix lol read more

While the interior of The Green Olive leaves something to be desired, the food does not. The selection and quality of Mediterranean food is absolutely incredible and the customer service is superb. My husband and I stopped in here for a lunch break and we tried the gryo platter and the vegetarian platter and both were super delicious and filling. The amount of food you get for the price you pay is more than worth it. You can also redeem a free drink when you check in here which is exactly what I did and guess what? The guy taking our order (I think he may have been the owner) gave us another drink for free. Now that's true customer appreciation - a little goes a long way. I came into the plaza actually for another cuisine, but wandered here instead. Glad I did. I ordered the "People's Choice" combo with chicken & falafel, along with a bottle of water. To my surprise, they carried my favorite hawaiian brand beverages as well! Food was prepared right before my eyes, behind the counter. I like to know that my food is fresh, so kudos to that aspect. The food was great: tender chicken kabob & the falafel was on point - not overly deep fruited, but still most on the inside. The owner greeted me & I asked if they just opened. He explained that this location just opened yesterday, which explains the lack of a yelp profile. He thanked me for trying to check in & gave me baklava for free - score!!! Awesome food and a hidden gem in the Rancho Dominguez area. I ordered the Kofta Kabob and it was delicious and plenty enough to fill me up until dinner. I over heard that the Mayor placed a catering order, I can taste why they would only go with the best in the area. I was there early, before the afternoon crowd starts to pack the area. Got a chance to take a look at the area and they have a HOOKAH lounge inside the restaurant! A banquet room & HOOKAH lounge!!! Pretty cool and a large space for hosting my holiday parties. Definitely a recommendation when you're stuck in traffic on the 91 FWY, they are off the Wilmington exit on the corner of Victoria St/Wilmington Ave. What's great is they are open until midnight, so when you have a late night craving or just played some card games at the Hustler or Crystal Casino, great place to eat late night! read more

Parking in this area a bit challenging during lunch time. Busy little place...line of people to order, but it moves quickly. Ordered #17 Wrap w/gyro meat, includes salad ($8.50 + tax). Cashier and other staff were friendly. Only a couple empty tables, but seems like people order, sit down to eat and leave fairly quickly. It was 1 large salad, 2 kabob plates, a drink, a cheesecake and a side order of these AHmazing garlic potatoes with chives...Steak kabob and garlic potatoes??=SMACKIN ! I love Mediterranean food and really visit restaurants for two reasons one being great food and service. This place is a hit or miss with food. They are good with certain food item and others not so much. I sometimes overlook that but when service is lacking, I do not grade on curves. I ordered thru grubhub and in special instruction I asked for no tomatoes, since I am allergic to them. I received the food and tomatoes were on the Gyro sandwich! I called back and the person working said; it was not in the instructions and looked at app and verified that it was! She said, just take the tomatoes off! This is my other favorite lunch place.. The owner usually recognizes you & even ask if you want same dish.. Haha.. He knows what I usually order.. The salmon special which you get 2 huge salmon skewered mixed w/ vegetables along w/ salad & pita bread.. It not only taste good, it's gooood for you.. It's usually more than what I would pay for lunch but hey, it's good for you.. Place gets packed during lunch. Will have to come early like 11:45 am or after 1 pm for lunch if you do not want to wait for a table. Only complain during hot weather is the place gets kind of hot & not sure if the A/C is on or it's not set on cold... I wanted Mediterranean food and thought I'd give this place a try. The food smelled fantastic and "looked" awesome, until i took a bite. The food wasn't cooked thoroughly. The fish was half done, the rice was hard and the cinnamon sticks weren't cooked all the way through either. I was highly disappointed considering the price i paid. What makes it worse.....I couldn't even call to complain because they closed early. Next time i'll just spend a bit more to get Panini Kabob & Grill. Was pleased my beef kabob wrap and potatoes were made fresh and it was worth the wait. Tender, flavorful pieces of beef with crisp, fresh lettuce and tomato wrapped in a soft flour tortilla. I thought this place was ok. My review might have been different if I had stopped by when it wasn't 100 degrees out. They only have outdoor seating and man was it a hot day. None of the fans were blowing and the plastic sides of the patio cover didn't allow for much airflow. As for the food, it was good. I ordered the mix grilled combo with no rice and they offered extra salad. There was a slight mix up and I ended up with a shrimp skewer instead of the beef kabob but they brought me out the beef kabob at no extra charge. Everything was cooked fresh and pretty well seasoned. The salad was good but seemed weird to have an almost ranch like dressing. I think olive oil and fresh lemon juice would have been a better choice. I like the baba ghanouj and enjoyed the sauces that were served along side my meal. Overall a tasty experience. read more

This place is delicious. Not the best, but very good. At the price it's hard to beat. I am a fan of the dolma and falafels. I haven't had a meat there that I didn't like, but I generally prefer lamb and they don't have any so they lose a star for that (c'mon guys, you gotta have lamb). The chicken is well cooked, properly seasons and never dry. The gyro meat is good, but I've had better spiced gyro in other places. The kafta has a nice soft texture with a good amount of seasoning, but it could use a little more kick. The beef is good, if you like beef you'll like this flank-steak-like meat. The best is probably the shrimp which has a nice bit of seasoning, led by paprika, cooked to a perfectly plump state, making sure to stay just shy of rubbery. I've been to this location and the one in Gardena and they are both equally good. read more
