I am actually blown away by how good this sandwich is. I have no idea why the reviews are so low here! This was GREAT food especially considering it is a little cafe inside of a State Government building. I just started working in this building and I will definitely come back weekly! My matcha latte was a little too sweet for me but there is an option to make it less sweet so I'll definitely do that next time. But this sandwich, wow, super high quality! The bread was great, the chicken breast was delicious, and generous helpings of avocado. And it's a LARGE sandwich, you definitely get your money's worth with this one. I ordered online so it was ready when I got there. There are 3 different ordering stations so you have to pick up your food in separate places if you order a coffee and something to eat, but everyone was so helpful, that was easy to navigate. Honestly everyone was very nice! There is plenty of seating inside (and they have tons of AC during this hot time). They also have outside seating but that is harder to come by. read more

The food is decent, not too happy that the lunch prices went way up no more lunch specials and that lady who works there, the short one w blondish hair, she is rude and wants to nickel and dime us for everything she oversees everything and micromanages to make sure she maximizes the costs out of us. We work here we patronize this Cafe and should be treated much better and given a little slack on some of the condiments that she wants to charge, then she runs over to the other cashier when she sees he's giving somebody a condiment without charging even such as dressings or extra items for a sandwich wrap $7.95 to now $11.95. Gee, I wonder if she's on commission if She got commission for every time she smiled and greeted us she should be rich sadly she is not she's got attitude. read more

Im very upset about the way I'm forced to use my $20 credit all at 1 time. And now you're only able to use it towards the grill foods or smoothie. That's not how I accumulated my points. This place is mediocre... the prices are high and the owner is CHEAP!!! the cooks are great and the guy behind the coffee station is great as well!! They offer soup with no crackers available, they make there chicken noodle so with scraps of spaghetti noodles and linguine noodles who does that?? They offer vegetable soup which only has corn and carrots it's never consistent. I'm sure the egg noo that belong in there can't be that expensive. The owner switches out the plastic ware with cheap spoons and forks that practically melt or break while using them and he makes so much money there I just do t get it!! if I suggest anything get breakfast burrito, breakfast quesadillas, tacos, froed zucchini, and smoothies. This place is just not good! With my office recently moving in the area and finding out there was a cafe close by, I was happy to have a food option near by. First try - ordered a hamburger. It's a frozen parry you can get in a 12 pack from places like smart and final. Bland, dense and no flavor. And close to $10 with no fries. Second try.- decided on a sandwich. What grossed me out if the guy making the sandwiches wipes the knife on a towel that sits there on the counter the entire time. So basically mayo from 11am will still be on the towel hours later if you order a sandwich at 2pm. I filed a report with the Long Beach CA Dept of Public Health. My co-worker ordered a chicken bowl and while eating it stated it tasted funny. Well hours later, it all came back out. This place needs a complete overhaul and new management. There are many businesses in the area that would frequent this place if they got their act together. Until then, Fantastic Burger around the corner is definitely a better and safe option. read more

If they couldn't update my order they should have said so and I would have asked for my money back. But instead they gave me the little paper to write how I wanted my wrap and give the person preparing the wrap. He too looked at the paper and said he would make it that way. Anyone that has to come to this establishment to handle business and decides they want to grab something to eat please do not come here. Today I had to handle some buiness here and decided to grab something to eat. As I walk in a lady rudely tells me that they are "closed". Clearly your hours posted on your door says 6am to 4p!(FRIDAYS) also online your hours state 6am to 3pm!(FRIDAYS) This is very unprofessional and is a false advertisment. Either you close early on Fridays or stay open until 4pm. Update your hours for fridays on your website and on your establishment front door. This would be very helpful. Seeing that I am not the only one who noticed this perhaps just close or let someone more professional take the space. I will never return to this place. read more

The Corner Kitchen is a convenient little café located inside the office building at 1500 Hughes Way in Long Beach. I come here several times a week, sometimes twice a day because I work in the area. There are five different stations for you to choose depending on your mood or dietary choices. The hours are convenient, and the food is pretty good, and the employees are friendly. The restaurant looks great, is clean, and there is plenty of seating. There are several online ordering and delivery options, as well. They do have a captive audience here at this location, so they get pretty busy and tight during the lunch rush because there are so few (nearby) eating options that don't require getting in your car. The coffee counter that serves up Peet's Coffee, pastries and muffins, and custom blended vegetable and fruit smoothies. This has been a life saver on those slow-starting mornings which seem to be more and more common. The staff at this station are great, and they can make your coffee drink, or smoothie, exactly how you like it, so you can't go wrong here. The sandwich station offers up their own sandwich selection, but you can also fill out an order form and customize your sandwich to your liking. The guy at the sandwich counter has the best attitude and always makes a great sandwich. If you're a regular like me, he's great at remembering how you like things and will clarify with you, just in case you forget or don't mention something. (I am ashamed at myself because I just referred to my sandwich bff as "the guy at the sandwich counter"...tsk, tsk, tsk) The salad bar is great. It's well stocked and kept clean. Plenty of salad fixings to choose from, and usually 2 soups. The grill will cook up almost anything that you could want at a breakfast or lunchtime grill. They guys at the grill get really busy, but they are FAST! There is a hot bar where you can find Asian and Mexican choices to create your favorite bowl or burrito. Both the grill and hot stations offer daily specials, too! You can also find plenty of grab and go snacks such as, sodas, chips, sweets, protein drinks, water, etc... This place is frustrating. Good food. But totally inconsistent hours. They often close early, open late, or like today, never even open at all. I'm done with them. Hopefully they'll go out of business soon and someone new will move into the space. In the meantime, I'll just bring my own food to work and save some money. Advice to owner: 1. Decide on your hours, you're either 100% totally open, or you're closed. 2. Post those hours. 3. Stick to those hours, every single day. My company orders from this place all the time. But I think we are all done because every single time we get delivery they forget ALL of the sides and misc items that come with the food. This is the third time in a row we have ordered and they forgot the salsa, sour cream, utensils, napkins. The last two orders I specifically added a nice little note in the app asking not to forget these things....still nothing. They have forgotten an entire order before as well, and even today tried to give me 2 extra random drinks I did not order (I did not take them). The food is great, that gets 4 stars. But it's just not worth wasting our money on anymore with all the little issues. I'm going to be calling my bank for a refund on this. UPDATE: Whoever the man is responding to me, obviously doesn't know how their food is prepared. Your burritos do not come with salsa and sour cream inside of them. They come on the side in little clear cups. If that has changed then neither of those items were put inside our order. This response is careless and ignorant. On both your website menus and delivery menus on the apps it states they come on the side. Your failure to respond to missing entire orders and forgetting utensils and napkins really shows how much you care. We will no longer be ordering from this place, expensive, and absolutely no care for customer service. People will not waste their money here with this quality. read more

Lunch specials off the grill are always really good and they whip them up quickly, so don't worry about a long line. The fresh sandwiches are pretty delicious as well. Lots of different options and friendly service. On a recent visit I made a comment about how much I loved the sandwiches and how one little thing would put it over the top. On my next visit, they had it for me! Such a small gesture but greatly appreciated. As always, great food and excellent customer service from everyone here. read more

I ordered food from here through Ubereats, and I've actually never been to their location. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries, also their strawberry colada. The burger was SO good. As a self-proclaimed burger connoisseur, I know a good burger when I taste one & this was one! The fries were chunky - and I'm not a huge fan a chunky fries - but they were well seasoned & crunchy. During our chemotherapy today some food was ordered from Corner Kitchen. We ordered 5 different sandwiches/wraps and had them delivered. My sandwich, a CK Pastrami sandwich, had 2 slices of meat! The Douglas Burger on Cherry has much better, spicy, seasoned pastrami 1.5 to 2.0" thick with meat. What little pastrami there was tasted sort of ok, too much fat, not enough spices in the au jus, just not enough taste, especially for chemo patients... I could go on. So, the fries were good, the sandwich was a rip off. You decide!! read more

The food here is delicious, but.... I have ordered from here once a week for the last two months. And 4 times my order has been incorrect. I was trying to work with them to correct it or come to an agreement. Their solution? To give me $1 back. The problem: I ordered a chicken blt with avocado and a grilled cheese with bacon. Both my orders came with avocado and I am allergic. So not only do I not have lunch, I don't get my money back or any resolution I even spoke to the supposed manager who read my order back to me and agreed this shouldn't have happened at all. Yet still only offered to discount my mean for the avocado which is a $1 add on. The whole point is I did not order it in the first place, have no money to buy something else, and am extremely dissatisfied. This will be the last time I order from this restaurant. read more

I have to tread lightly with this one because this is a cafe where I work- but I've never been more embarrassed amongst my peers than I was today and honestly I feel really uneasy. One day while on a diet I decided to order the "veggies" that were on the bottom of the menu- what I received was a carton full of grilled veggies and I loved them! It immediately became my favorite thing to order- after ordering a few times the manager pulled me to side and informed me that the price for the type of veggies (grilled) I get cost more than the veggies on the menu- which is fine. She said she'd let her cashiers know. I continued to order these veggies but after a while I got the sense that the chef doesn't like making these veggies- (eyes roll when I walk up- him and the younger guy snicker etc) and every time I leave with my carton of veggies he runs behind me to see what price I paid for them - which baffles me because if he wants to be a cashier then he should be behind the register and not a grill! But I digress- today I was approached by the owner - very pleasant - but the fact that I had to have a conversation about food payment in front of my peers was embarrassing and an old topic! I don't know how much the veggies cost because I ALWAYS purchase more than one item. I spend at least 10 dollars a day 5 days a week in this cafe- not including the times my fiancé comes to have lunch with me-I price claims for a living not food! Today left a very nasty taste in my mouth for this establishment (probably why my veggies taste crappy today) I'll take my lil 10 dollar a day food habit across the street from now on read more

I currently work at this building, and moving from downtown Long Beach to Hughes way I thought I wasn't gonna have much options for lunch. WELL I was WRONG ! Corner kitchen is a great place to grab a quick bite if you're working in this building. I come here almost once a week to either grab my favorite breakfast the no yolk omelette or for lunch for a chicken panini which i highly recommend ! The cooks are really nice and will get your food done as soon as possible, and the staff at the coffee shop is really nice. A great thing about this joint is that you can do online ordering to skip the long lunch lines. If you have a five star don't forget to put your number In so you can start racking up those points towards a free meal! read more

The food and the staff are great, however, they are supposed to close at 4pm and i have gone in at 2:45pm and all of the food is put away/not available. Considering I work next door, sometimes we take a late lunch and this is the most convenient option for a quick bite. This is the best place to get a sandwich. The place is located inside a large office building. You have you tell the guy at the gate your going to the cafe. Once you go inside to where the sandwhiches are being made you are greeted by many options of breads from crossiants, baguettes, rye, white, wheat, and more. They have many meat options and fresh veggies, and dressings like chipotle, pesto, to basic mayo and mustard. The sandwich combo will cost you around the same as subways but just with higher quality ingredients. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good sandwich read more

They have a Peets Coffee inside. They have never messed up my order. Lani and EJ are wonderful! The chefs are nice and make your order customized to taste and dietary reasons. I've ordered a couple times from here and the last couple times they kept on forgetting several items on my order like the sour cream and salsa. Staff was extremely rude in person and over the phone. I could hear the lady over the phone "sighing" and was giving me attitude. When I finally arrived to this cafe in person to order the same thing, the presentation of the "fork and knife burrito" was horrible. Will never be coming or ordering here again and I don't recommended anyone ordering it online or over the phone because they continuously forget or keep messing up orders! read more

I work in the building so I have a lot of experience with this place. The food is inconsistent because one of the chefs is very good and the other isn't. They are very lazy about restocking. And it's very clear to me that the owner is a very cheap person who doesn't seem to value regular customers whatsoever. Buyers beware if I could I would give it no stars. Please check your bank statements when you make purchases here. I and other people have been doubled charged during the lunch rush and they will not return your money. When I brought up the issue of being charged twice to the manager he said he'll take care of it tomorrow and I was not the only one 5 other customers had the same issue. He said to return next day he'll fix it. When I did all he told me was to speak with my bank and did not provide a refund. This happened to me before at this location and he gave me a refund the same day and now he ignored the issue.
