Berried and Almond Organic Cake

What a great vegan spot in Long Beach! Adequate seating inside with a couple of tables outside. Great variety of menu options. I had the wet chicken burrito with side of chips , rice and beans. It was spectacular-clean and very filling . For dessert, the berry almond cake and très Leche cake-both amazing but preference was for berry or sure. Friendly and helpful staff. Definitely recommend. Need o come back for taco Tuesday three dollar tacos!

Yum yum yum! Scrumptious vegan veggie crepe and crunchy hash browns. Hit the spot! They have a wide selection of creative and interesting vegan options for breakfast and lunch. Their desserts look divine! Can't wait to return to try. Cute corner cafe on a busy corner. Parking can be tricky. You can order ahead to go or dine in. I usually like to park on a nearby side street then still over. Again, it's a busy road so use caution while crossing.

Really nice wet burrito! The quesabirria was not my favorite but it was still good. Service was attentive and nice and the outdoor seating was nice and relaxing on a summer day. Definitely looking forward to coming back! We thought the food was artfully presented as well!

So happy to have found this 100% vegan organic restaurant! The service was prompt and friendly, very knowledgeable staff. The food was excellent. I had the sautéed kale with tempeh. The flavors were excellent and the tempeh was tender but not mushy, and had no bitterness at all. It was very well seasoned. My husband had the huevos rancheros and it was really good too!! Their hot sauce is so good that I bought some for home. Ambiance is casual and comfortable. Will definitely return next time we're in LB.

I won't lie like I lied to my ex wife . Portions are great the rice for sure had great flavors and to tofu chicken I wanted more. But the mole burrito itself wasn't my cup of tea but it was sweet or maybe I'm not a mole person like my ungrateful ex wife but overall I would definitely go back if I'm Cali again .

Super Roll, not good at all

So... I decided to try this spot due to some food restrictions I've been cursed upon. I mostly can't have dairy or highly acidic foods or spicy stuff. I went in, nice environment. Lots of seating available and only one server but he was quick and kind. I ordered one Super Roll and a Coco Paradise Smoothie. The smoothie was pretty good, it tasted mostly of banana and I kinda liked the pieces of coconut flakes within each sip. So I was pleased by that. However, the roll genuinely disappointed me. It was basically just unseasoned veggies wrapped in seaweed. I also wasn't fond of the sauce, it tasted a bit like watered down mustard. I'm aware there's other menu options that might meet my needs. So I'm willing to give it a second chance with a different menu item. Hopefully it'll be much better. But for now, I give it a big no on the veggie sushi. I quite love sushi so much and this was one of the most disappointed I've been.

A very cute little plant based restaurant with a big menu. Always love supporting vegan local businesses! At first it seems like a Mexican spot based on the decor but the menu has a bit of everything. Loved how breakfast is available all day. I ended up getting the grilled veggie wrap and was surprised when I bit into it that it was an Asian wrap. There is no mention of that on the menu description, in fact it says "pesto." Not that that's bad it's just not what I was expecting or craving so it made the whole meal a little off. My bf got the wrap as well and only took a few bites. My aunt & sister got Mexican dishes and got some shakes and everything looked really good! Service was great! Indoor (minimal) and outdoor seating available. Parking is street parking - but was easy to find.

I always love an experience at one of The Grain Cafe locations, but this was my first time at the location in Long Beach. The unique thing about this location is they have an added Oaxacan menu full of even more delicious options that do not disappoint! The service was super friendly and our waitress gave great recommendations, the ambiance is very casual and chill, but it can get a little stuffy inside when it's hot. Here are some of the highlights: 4/5 - Dargon Roll: "Tuna", cucumber, carrots, avocado, and a side of soy sauce. A great light and delicious appetizer. Pro tip: the "Tuna" like paste is a little salty, so don't overdo the soy sauce to avoid that extra salty flavor. 5/5 - Chilaqulies Verde: corn tortilla chips, onions, mushroom, zucchini and tofu egg, sautéed in a salsa verde, topped with homemade sour cream, cheese, and avocado. Very delicious, had a nice little kick of spice, but not too overpowering, I would highly recommend this dish! 5/5 - Coconut Blackberry Cake: a delicious blend of fresh coconut and blackberries, without too much of either flavor, perfectly balanced. 4.5/5 - Strawberry Almond Cake: very good, almost as good as the coconut blackberry cake, but a little dryer in taste. However, with the heavier frosting parts, just as delicious with the same texture! Food: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Value: 4.5/5 Overall: 4.33/5

Breakfast Burrito

The food here was really delicious. It honestly felt like the kind of breakfast you'd get on a Sunday morning at your abuela's house. The huevos con chorizo were so good, and their hot sauce was it went perfectly with it. The person working there was also really nice, and the whole place had a calm, relaxed vibe. Definitely a spot I'd come back to if I'm in Long Beach again

I'm sad to say that I've lived in the neighborhood for 6 years and only visited this place for the first time yesterday. They have one of the best veggie burgers I've ever had. It was fresh, flavorful, and healthy. The roasted side potatoes were delicious as well. The restaurant also has great ambiance and kind staff. Thank you, I will be back!

Quite cute, rusty place. Stopped by for a cup of mocha and a cake. Parking can be tough since it's street parking only. Service is nice and friendly. The cake was great and tasty and moist and coffee is good. The decor, for me, dark and rustic feeling and they have a waterfall wall so it's relaxing. The place is right on the corner of 4th Street & Ximeno Ave so you got the corner view of both streets. They do have indoor and outdoor seating for all seasons. They do have other plain base foods but we're here in the morning so couldn't able to try the foods yet but my friends said that it was great with reasonable price too. Will definitely come back and try them out.

My career is a mobile phlebotomist and I'm always on the go. I found this spot very interesting. I read that we're having a smoothies and juices and my curiosity just took me in there and I got to try one of the most popular smoothies that girl tell me the berry berry what's one of the customers favorite. I was looking for something green honestly, but since I hear that I was like OK, let's give it a shot. My concern was a little bit about the sweetness. But then when they give it to me, I tried out and it was delicious. It hit the spot that really worked out or replacing me a meal for another hour. This was looking pretty busy. They were at least six tables busy so that means the food is good. I can't wait to come back to try their food and the pastries the cakes oh my gosh, they were looking delicious and some people were eating out as well. I was in a rush, so maybe next time with the more time I can check more of the menu out.. for right now now I have another spot to order my smoothie. I can't wait to try more of the menu. For parking situation of the parking, my goodness is a little hard, but not impossible. You must have to park a little far away, but you can find parking around. Good luck if you were trying to see like a breakfast lunch a spot definitely give this one a chance to impress you like it did to me.

Treated myself the other morning to one of my favorite gluten free meals. Really good attentive service, and it was the perfect quiet atmosphere to enjoy my meal and book at the same time. I don't eat out at restaurants much lately but I really enjoyed my experience!

The crispy corn tortilla was light, slightly salty and greasy JUST like I like it! The corn ribs were seasoned to the "bone". The pozole had jackfruit which was perfect since I don't do a lot of soy or tofu and it was good. Had enough for hubby to eat the next day. The breakfast burrito was a 10/10. I had enough to eat the next day also. My daughter said the Horchata was flavorful, but was too thick for her liking. Service was great. The faculty was clean and you can eat there in complete comfort. The parking was limited but there was street parking as well. I spent a good $100 on food but I was completely satisfied. I arrived for an early dinner on a Tuesday night and there was plenty of seating to choose from. It felt cozy, comfortable and intimate and I loved the authentic Mexican decor. I originally planned on ordering a burrito and I actually had the faux meat all planned out in my head. But then, I was handed a seasonal specials menu so I knew I had to order from that! I love fall dishes and there were even pancakes on the menu. Nothing beats breakfast for dinner and my sweet tooth was hitting strong that day. The food came out in a great time where I could see they were making my meal fresh with lots of care. It came out with a beautiful presentation, topped with a lovely coconut cinnamon sauce and fresh bananas, toasted coconut and nuts. The pancakes were some of the best I've had and were so light and fluffy. It was just the right amount of sweetness to be indulgent without being sickeningly so. I loved the crunch of the coconut and nuts to contrast the softness of the banana slices. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it left me feeling full and satisfied. Parking was super easy in their lot and plenty of street parking was available. The meal was also affordable. I will definitely return again soon the next time I'm in Long Beach and next time will try their Mexican dishes! I highly recommend this fantastic restaurant!

Phenomenal food, and I'm not even vegan!…read more I'm doing a no-meat fast for October, and finding food I really like has been challenging. This place blew me away. Everything tasted freshly prepared and arrived piping hot (no heat lamp!). Here's what we tried: * Olives, 9/10: I'm not a huge olive fan, but these were delicious, served hot with grilled bread. * Carciofi salad, 9/10: A lighter choice that still delivered on flavor. I'd love to try the Caesar next time. * Risotto, 10/10: Rich, flavorful, and full of garlic, with finely chopped mushrooms. * Gigli, 10/10: The standout for me! If we hadn't been at a vegan restaurant, I wouldn't have known it wasn't meat. I usually don't enjoy tofu or soy, but the seasoning was excellent without being overly salty. Highly recommend. My only question was about the "goat cheese." I wasn't sure what the vegan version was made from and would have liked a little clarification. The restaurant is small, clean, and quaint, with a casual atmosphere. There's a small free parking lot in the back, plus street parking. I honestly can't wait to go back after my fast is over!

You can tell that the restaurant owner(s) care about the community and making this a safe space. One thing I found unique was that they did not take credit cards. It was only Cash, Venmo, or Zelle. Had the perfect balance of a crispy outside and a soft juicy inside. Goes great with the dipping sauces. Lowkey some of the best zucchini sticks I've had. Southern Fried Chick'n Sammie - 4/5 Pretty good! Chewy and flavorful. Tasted like a chicken sandwich. The bacon was alright but overall a good sandwich. Bread was a little thick. Vietnamese Coffee - 1/5 Did not taste similar to the real thing. The mixture also did not dissolve well so I would skip this. Service was friendly, but the wait time for the food was quite long, even for drinks.

The other odd thing was that place opens at 1pm (who opens at 1? most people are done with lunch by then and its too early for dinner). Anyways we got there right at open so we were the first ones in an empty restaurant. It still took an HOUR to get our food. One hour for the first and only order in the building. A few others came in a couple minutes behind us and they were still sitting there past the hour and half mark. There's slow and then there's this where slow loses its definition. THIS REVIEW IS FOR HTUNS POP-UP INSIDE BLUE BIRD SUSHI TUESDAY MORNINGS THROUGHOUT OCTOBER! TLDR:…read moreGO WHILE YOU CAN! I am not a tea person, generally. I came to Blue Bird expecting to find Juu coffee, and happened upon HTUNS (the "H" is silent). After looking down at the menu taped to the counter and seeing only Matcha and Tea, I asked, "but you still have regular coffee, right?" They did not, in fact, have regular coffee. And it's a good thing, because otherwise I never would have discovered this delicious treat. I got a BBL for breakfast. What I found out immediately was Burmese Brewed Latte, I ordered the BBL with a salted vanilla cream top. When I asked what it was exactly they told me it was a brewed black tea sweetened with cream and sweetened condensed milk. So I immediately was like ooooh, kinda like vietnamese coffee meets milk tea? And they were like sorta. The best way I can describe it is kind of like an iced tea with a cream foam topper?? I don't drink a lot of boba, but it's not as sweet, which I prefer. You can really still taste the tea which is so, so good. The foam itself is very light, and not overly vanilla-flavored. Just enough to make it creamy, but truly let the tea stand out. I didn't taste the salt at first, and then I got a piece in a sip and it was like a delightful little pop of flavor. That only happened a couple of times, but was so yum, otherwise the salt was just there to mellow out the sweetness, like melty vanilla ice cream. I feel like I'm going to be thinking about this tea all week until they come back next Tuesday. HTUNS will be popping up inside Blue Bird Sushi every Tuesday morning the rest of this month. They also plan to bring in breakfast as soon as next month. She said it wouldn't be traditional American breakfast, and I said good, that's the point! I'm not sure I've ever truly had Burmese food, so this has me extremely excited. I googled what a traditional Burmese breakfast might look like, and wow I can't wait to see what menu they pull together for this. My mouth is watering already! I haven't traveled that far east, so I was curious about where Burma was exactly. The closest other countries surrounding it are China, India, and Thailand. Vietnam is not far away either. This is like all my favorite regions for food, so I'm so excited to have a new breakfast experience in the coming months.

The only slightly off-putting thing was how many flies there were because of the hot weather, but luckily the restaurant was prepared with little fans/propellers to keep them away from the food so it wasn't a problem while we were eating. We started with the crab rangoons, which we devoured. You can't go wrong with those and I'm glad they had it on their menu! For our mains, we tried the pad see ew and the panang curry. The pad see ew was great in flavor. I wish there were more veggies and that the beef was a bit less dry but it was not a big deal and still delicious. The panang curry was spicy and nutty. The tenderloin was the best part and practically melted in my mouth! Of course we got thai teas, which were very sweet. They were also huge and definitely shareable. Service was okay, we had to ask multiple times for certain things but they were busy so it is understandable. Definitely a great thai place for date night or plans with friends, but it seems to get pretty crowded so expect a wait! I'd probably come back to try more of their menu.
