Garden skillet (half portion)

Great place for breakfast. Huge portions and a few vegan options. I would definitely go again. The decor reminded me of the American Legion in my rural hometown. I think it was the wall to wall carpet, wood paneling, and the guy using a manual sweeper to pick up crumbs. Delightful.

Denver omelet, egg whites and no cheese

We visited the Delectable Egg while in town for a conference. Our server, Nicole, was excellent! She was polite, professional, efficient, and simply on top of everything. She was knowledgeable about the menu and was able to address food allergy questions well. Most of us figured, when in Denver.........So we ordered the Denver omelets. The one person who didn't ordered simple bacon and eggs. The one Denver omelet that was a special order for the food allergies came out as ordered. Yes! All the food was delivered in a timely manner and was hot. Admittedly, at first we weren't sure about the Denver omelet, since we agreed that we'd never seen it served with a slice of deli ham and bell pepper on top before. At first glance we thought that was the only ham and pepper, but we quickly noticed that the omelets were actually packed full of goodies. Nicole offered alternative options to the one person who couldn't have bread, which was unusual and greatly appreciated! We all agreed that we will definitely return to the Delectable Egg next time we are in Denver!

Everything was yummy! The service was impeccable. The prices are reasonable. The tea was so good we drank the whole carafe. We definitely will be back for breakfast while we are here.

I come here everytime i am in denver, the food is excellent, the servers are always great and attentive and the place is so clean. I will continue to come here for breakfast and always look forward to my next trip! Also, substitutions are always no problem.

I was staying nearby and came here for breakfast on a weekday when there was a large conference in town. They were moderately busy, but I was quickly seated. The breakfast menu is loaded with lots of tasty options, so much so that I had a tough time deciding. I ultimately chose their Stacked Ranchero Breakfast, which came out pretty quickly. It looked and smelled amazing and tasted great! I asked for a side of green chili with it, as I wanted to try their green chili and that had a nice spice to it. Coffee was good, so was the service. Would definitely recommend coming here, especially for a nice Mexican breakfast!

One of the few breakfast places in walking distance of the Convention Center, I ended up here by default. It's a diner. It has diner accommodations, diner food, and dining service. Actually, the service is pretty spectacular! The food and the prices met my expectations.

Great breakfast spot. Can get busy so don't be in a rush. The staff are friendly but short staffed so they are running around constantly. Very calm and peaceful atmosphere.

Absolutely delicious breakfast spot! Everything came out hot, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The staff were upbeat and welcoming -- even on a busy morning. My coffee stayed full, the food hit the spot, and the energy was just right for a weekend brunch. Highly recommend if you're near Uptown -- it's the kind of place that makes you want to linger over another cup of coffee. It was also extremely good steak. (I got the steak and eggs).

I had some absolutely fantastic sausage, pancakes, and eggs here! My girlfriend had the grilled chicken breakfast sandwich, and she really liked it too! Our server was fantastic as well! Her mocha latte tasted like it was drenched in Hershey's syrup, my plain coffee tasted acidic and bitter, a common theme in Denver (is this a local preference?). Like some of the other places I have been to in Denver, pricing on mains was pretty reasonable, but the sides were almost offensively expensive. There was a $3.99 upcharge for real maple syrup; I understand that stuff is expensive, and I would gladly pay extra for it, but $4 is about $3 too much. I loved my meal, and my out the door price still wasn't too bad, but uncharges like that, or what they wanted for some of the condiments, costs them a full star, unfortunately. J.Ja

Went here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We were staying in downtown so the location was very convenient, just a short walk from the Hyatt. It was pretty early, there were people there but not super busy. We were seated right away and had good service. They have a drink menu which included cocktails, mimosas. I went with an Irish coffee. It was sooo good!! Probably the best I've ever had. My sister initially ordered a latte but changed her order to Irish coffee bc it was so good. For my main dish, I got the California Benedict. Delicious!! The eggs were done perfectly. It was a good portion of food. My sister ordered the Denver omelette. I had a bite and this was also super tasty. My husband ordered a frittata and he cleaned his plate! Overall a very good experience. The menu has plenty of options (including pancakes, etc for anyone who likes the sweet stuff).

Came here with some friends the moment we flew into Denver because we were starving. We didn't have to wait and were immediately sat despite being a party of 6. Servers were very nice and quick to greet us and take our order. The restaurant was large on the inside with plenty of tables and seating and very quaint and homey feeling. They had a very extensive menu with all sorts of options. Almost paralyzed by the amount of good sounding options they had-- paradox of choice. I got a michelada which was pretty good, not too spicy. I got the monte Cristo sandwich with a side of hash browns. Usually this sandwich is fried with a nice crisp but this one was grilled so it wasn't as crispy as I'm used to-- a bit on the soggier side actually. Flavor was great though and served with strawberry preserves. Hash browns were the same thing-- not as crispy as I'm used to. Others in my group got the brioche French toast and different Benedict options. Overall good and tasty experience.

Food is great and the environment is cozy. Staffs are friendly. The restaurant is close to our hotel so we can walk over for breakfast. We ate there twice during our stay in Denver for Astros-Rockies games.

Went here for lunch after my checkout from the Sheraton in Downtown Denver. It's my first time in Denver and this place was a 5/5 overall no downsides!!! My group of 3 went around 11am and they had such amazing food options and alcoholic drink options. Service: our lady server did an amazing job at checking on my table and offering drinks and suggestions. My table really appreciated her service. She also split our fresh toast for my table which is why I'm giving a 5/5 bc most establishments don't split or offer!! Drinks 5/5 Irish Whiskey. This drink was so easy to drink especially on a cold snowy day. My friend loves Irish whiskey as other places have messed up our order. 5/5 my friend ordered the Mexican Hot Chocolate which comes w tequila and she said it was so good! It came w cute sprinkles. Food Eggs Benedict 5/5: easily rated as the portions were huge, the Hollandaise was so creamy accompanied by the soft potatoes and savory ham. I loved that they offer the hot sauce on the table as well as creamer/sugar for your coffee if needed. This plate made me so full and I couldn't even finish all the potatoes. I highly recommend!!! If I were to come back I'm sure I would enjoy other food items. Stuffed French Toast 5/5: this as our dessert was soooo needed. We were so full from our plates that me and my group were able to split the French toast. The food made us feel so good and stuffed. All in all, my review may differ from others, but this brunch spot is amazing to visit. The service, food, and ambiance were all great to end my trip to Denver. The ambiance was very homey and it might seem "outdated" but our group thoroughly enjoyed it thank you!! Note: gender neutral bathroom

Well, I have visited this restaurant 3 times. All 3 times have been for a holiday brunch or…read moredinner. Location (4 stars) This restaurant is downtown near the convention center. parking is pricy if you valet park at the hotel. Last year it was around $40. Parking in the lot across the street for $25 dollars Easter Sunday. If you use a walker, I would not recommend the parking lot across the street. Food (3 Stars) The Thanksgiving buffet is the best one. I would rate that buffet a (4). The Christmas and Easter buffet are pretty low key. There is a carving station (ham and prime rib). There is an omelet station. Dessert bar is decorative. Cheesecake was delicious. The warming station with potatoes, sausage etc. leaves much to be desired. The charcuterie station is sparse. They offer unlimited mimosas for an additional $25. Service (5 stars) Staff are extremely friendly. Cleanliness (2 stars) My only complaint, I saw a tabletop being cleaned off with a rag used to clean the chairs and then under the table on the floor and on to the next tabletop. I'm just a little picky about that. Especially since folks these days go commando and wear short attire, and you know their parts are on the chair and now spread to tabletops. Wiping up the crumbs off the floor with same rag simply through me over the edge. Atmosphere (4 stars) Spacious uncrowded environment. Nice decor. Bright with large windows.

During the last few Denver Restaurant Week events, I've tried to take the offerings as an…read moreopportunity to sample restaurants that I haven't tried, or otherwise may not try, and see if I can add to my list of favorites. I saw Former Saint on CBS News, and the menu and food looked incredible. In particular, that white chocolate blueberry cheesecake was something I know my hubby would look forward to all week! I loved the idea of local food and fresh homemade dishes. Sounds healthy, after a week of potential over-indulgence at other restaurant week venues. An additional bonus was that it is located right near the Denver Convention Center and the Performing Arts Center. This has become a dry spot for fine dining, with even the choices on Larimer Square growing more thin, giving rise to the inability to get reservations at favorites like Tamayo and Rioja prior to a show. I go to performances frequently with friends, and despite my rule to avoid hotel restaurants (Former Saint is in the Hyatt Regency), I thought I'd scope out Former Saint as a place to take my friends before the next symphony or Children's Chorale or ballet or broadway performance. I must say, the jury is still out. Former Saint was a Jekyll and Hyde of courses. Parking was not difficult (Yay, maybe I can park here prior to my shows, if I grab a bite first). There is a large garage, and the promise of validation from the restaurant. The ambiance of the restaurant is typical hotel restaurant. Booths, tables, old and a bit drab. Except for the bar. Oh, my! The bar has this BEAUTIFUL copper creation above it, adding so much industrial character to the space! I was in awe looking at it, as it appeared to bring craft suds to the bartender's taps. I didn't ask how it worked, as it wasn't clear how the beer separation and dispensing worked, but it was a great centerpiece and spectacle for the place. I do wish I had investigated more about this architectural marvel, and will do so if I return. For restaurant week, my husband chose the Lobster Ravioli, Ribeye, and blueberry cheesecake (as predicted). I chose the Gotham salad, roasted chicken, and key lime tart. The lobster ravioli was nice; my husband was surprised that it was a toasted ravioli, but enjoyed it. My salad was full of beautiful greens, pears, walnuts, and feta. No scrimping here! The dressing was light and sweet/sour. The pears were a bit unripe and crisp, to the point that I was having trouble identifying exactly what fruit I was eating, but other than that, the salad was beautiful, healthy, and ample. My husband's ribeye steak was a nice cut, done to his liking. Slivered hash browns were underneath with a nice green chimichurri on top and some sliced Fresnos adding a welcome kick to the dish. My chicken was delightful. 1/2 chicken on the bone, seasoned nicely, and with a pan sauce. The breast was super-tender and delicious. It came atop cheesy grits, which was a yummy substitute for a mashed potato. I also was served side salad of curly lettuce and fennel. I probably didn't need more salad, but I was glad to have the healthy side on my plate. I will say that this salad was over-seasoned. The chicken and grits were great, but the salad too salty. My husband ordered a glass of J. Lohr Cabernet, which was a very nice find on the wine list, as far as a pairing for his ribeye. That said, the glass cost $30! A bit much, I might say. The real detractor, unfortunately, was dessert. The blueberry cheesecake looked nothing like the beautiful creamy white cheesecake accented throughout by purple blueberries, which I saw on the CBS News clip. My husband was served a very small solid purple slice, overcome with whipped cream dollops. This cheesecake had been uncovered in the fridge too long, with sort of a skin on it. My husband ate almost none of it. My key lime tart was similarly over-adorned with whipped cream, although I had some nice raspberries on top. The tart also seemed overexposed to the cool air, with the thickening of a skin on top. It was a very disappointing way to end a nice meal, and belied the healthy, homemade, craft theme. High points of this experience include the well-crafted and healthy entrees, the fact that we could see the convention center right outside our window (i.e., the location is perfect for pre-event or -theater), the $3.00 validated parking fee, and that beautiful copper tap system. Will the pros outweigh the cons? Will we be back with friends? Time will tell.
