They don't have catfish, they don't have fried okra and they've changed the ranch dressing that goes with the fried jalapeños. BEWARE! This establishment no longer offers "Catfish" as an option to pay an up charge for. They now only serve an unknown type of rubbery fish and I say "unknown" because the Mgr "Brian" could not give a definitive answer when asked what type of fish they serve now. The quality is beyond poor and the worst part was allowing us to order "Catfish" without informing us that they no longer offered real catfish as an option. Biting into the fish was worse than biting into a fried piece of aged tofu. Apparently the Mgr Brian saw nothing wrong with my issue and grievance because he offer no resolution at all! I must praise all the staff.. for handling the huge crowd well. even how busy and packed the restaurant was, the waiters all had great attitude and tended to the ones in line and those at the table well! and not only that, they continuously asked us if we wanted margaritas, daiquiris, or hurricanes! and for free! the food was amazing as well. the fries, fried shrimp, hush puppies, and fried okra. everything was great. I'm giving them 5 stars on their potential. I visited in the evening on opening day. The line was a few patrons out the door, it was hot, disorganized and the dining area is cramped. But the staff was AMAZING! In all the chaos, every one of them was kind, courteous, and attentive. No stank attitudes! I loved all the smiles on their faces. It made the chaotic atmosphere tolerable... even enjoyable. Though they got my order wrong, the food was delicious! Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. Sorry, no pictures to share. So being from Louisiana my first impression was stop adding Cajun to food that's not really Cajun! The red beans was definitely out of a can very watery and wasnt seasoned at all. The catfish wasn't fried and seasoned enough. And the most annoying thing that made me even more upset was who puts garlic bread on top of red beans and rice, where's the corn bread at?! For $40 dollars it wasn't worth it. If I could give no stars i would. Please do better. read more

Excited that this place is around. Would be great to have more inviting restaurants in Meyer Park. My family has gone a couple of times and we all really liked our food. They have slap ya mama seasoning on the table in addition to hot sauces so we were automatically impressed (since we're cajun!) the fried shrimp and crawfish tails are always good. My fiancée really likes the boiled seafood but unfortunately when we went last night they were out. Something for everyone in our family. Fast and friendly service. I ordered the shrimp etouffee with fried okra and Cole slaw as my sides, and it came with garlic bread (ALL THE CARBS) and I got Key lime pie, because duh! I gave 4 stars because I opened my to-go box to find rice with some etouffee in the middle. I want ETOUFFEE!! Not rice with a side of etouffee. And I reallllly wanted crawfish etouffee, not shrimp. So I got the four jumbo shrimp and two fried catfish to go. The first thing I noticed when I got home where is they don't automatically give you a tartar sauce and catch up so you may have to ask or may be a self-serve. The food was really fresh. Fresh from the water and fresh out the fryer. The jumbo shrimp was really good loved every bite of it. The fish was ok. I wish it was fried a little longer to get crispy. The question I had was never answered, that being what kind/ name of Fish is their Catch Fish. I am not a Farmed Raised Seafood eater so knowing this about their CatFish was out. I wanted to know what their Catch fish is because if Swai or Tilapia that would be a hard Pass. Problem was whomever i was talking with on FB would not Confirm what their Catch fish is. She answered every question we had and was very knowledgeable about the food. Now let's talk about the food. The gumbo is fire! It tastes like someone's grandmother made it during the holidays. We ordered fried oysters & fried jumbo shrimp with fries, shrimp étouffée, gumbo, green beans, and fried green tomatoes - everything cooked literally perfect I mean it's hard to get fried seafood and fries to show up like it just came from the kitchen plus the exact right amount of batter - not too thick and crispy where you can't taste the food. This location has many issues. They offer free beer and margaritas. I have to say, the beer is warm, flat and has no taste. The Margaritas have no liquor in them. Both a total bust. Last night we went in for crawfish and fried oysters. The place was woefully under staffed and the self service line out the door. Tables remained un-bussed for the entire hour we waited with out even a drink. In fact, they were still loaded up with dirty dishes when we took our food and left. Wow! Excellent seafood at a reasonable price in a super cute venue! In the city!!! This is sure to be a regular hangout for our family.

This spot was recommended to me so I decided to try it out today, so I noticed it's a little small and the outdoor seating is not that pleasant or covered but I go in and stood in line for 10 minutes because it was only one person at the register so then I decided to sit at the bar and get faster service but no one ever came so we had to go ask someone for service at the bar. The one cashier came over and said they are short staffed and he will be right over and offered a frozen daiquiri that he brought back in a little plastic cup that was on the rocks and watered down ! That I didn't want ( what happened to the frozen in a glass?) so I continued to wait to get some service but never received any after 40 mins me and party decided to leave so I never received any service or had a chance to taste the food!! We went to the catch today for lunch. We arrived at 12 pm and there was not a lot of people there. We were greeted and took a seat as we were waiting on other guests to arrive. Like they stated, you do get a free adult drink with the purchase on a entree. Unfortunately, the frozen margarita machine wasn't working, so we had to enjoy it on the rocks.
