The Catch is a casual, family friendly restaurant with a Cajun vibe. The decor is really cute and the staff was very friendly. We ordered a good bit of food and it all came out fast and piping hot. I forgot to take a picture of the crab boil bag but it was clearly the star of the show. We got the medium spice level which was very flavorful and not to spicy. It also came with corn, potatoes and shrimp. All the seafood was cooked perfectly and not chewy at all. We all had a great time and would definitely recommend giving it a try.

Calvin was the BEST!! We both had the Big Easy & it was delicious. We will definitely be back on on next visit!

Calvin was amazing & the food was delicious. We both had the Big Easy and a couple complimentary margaritas! We definitely will be back on our next visit!

Burnt gumbo bow. ( meats and stew is burnt). Quality standards are ridiculous to send this out to customers

*Buyer Be Ware* *If you are craving Cajun food do not come here!!!! I ordered a bowl of gumbo, sm catfish platter(burnt red beans and rice), and burnt gumbo. Catfish was so thin I might as well order a deep fried batter combo instead of fish. The gumbo and red beans and rice had a similar dark burnt look in which you first smell before tasting. It is not appetizing at all. Please if you are in the area and are craving cajun food just go to calliopes. This place needs to be shut down immediately.

Stopped in for a bite to eat. The restaurant needed some house keeping. There was food on the floors. Mop and broom sitting out by the tables for the customers to see. The restaurcould have used a good scrub down as well. 2/5 The customer service was excellent! Everyone was very nice and accommodating. 5/5 I had popcorn shrimp with tater tots and hush puppies. The hush puppies tasted stale. The tater tots were good but the shrimp was gross. 2/5 The chicken pasta with garlic bread was excellent! 5/5 My nephew said his burger and fries were really good. 4.5/5 Banana pudding 1.5/5 Overall, this place reminded me of an upscale Long John Silver or Captain D's (telling my age).

Craving a catfish po- boy, I decided to go to The Catch. I ordered to go. When I got home, and bit into the po-boy, I realized I was not biting into a meaty fillet, but mostly fried coating. There appeared to be 2 "fillets" on the sandwich...unfortunately the both were so thin there was very little meat. Light even shone through them. The bread was also tough...you know like when you microwave bread too long? The fries were ok...hush puppies a little heavy and tough also. I'm not going to say I won't go back (and choose something different) but I was very disappointed.

Me and my cousin came to eat at this fish spot

First time here. I ordered the family pack of 10 catfish, 12 "jumbo" shrimps, 8 hush puppies with two sides. Cute decor and clean place. The person was nice who took my order but was very distracted with other patrons just chatting. So my order was short 1 catfish which who has the time to go back and request that one missing fish, yeah it sucks bc a la cart it's $5 a fish so yeah technically lost $5. The food was okay nothing wow, the red beans and rice was good and the hush puppies.

Jumbo shrimp. May look big on this photo but they were just regular size. Fail.

Chain restaurant. Located in the South Post Oak Shopping center near Randall's. I wanted to love this place because I am/was hoping it would bring more business to the area and it adds more to the variety of places to eat in the neighborhood. Plus, I love seafood! They have boiled and fried seafood, salads, po-boys, crawfish when in season, deserts, chicken fingers, lots of appetizers and sides. There is a bar area and they do serve free frozen drinks. I tried a peach something or other. Took two sips and tossed it. Maybe something I would have enjoyed in college on Bourbon St in New Orleans. There was a steady flow of customers when I came on a weeknight. I ordered the jumbo shrimp and they were nothing more than regular sized shrimp. I wasn't impressed at all. The condiments on the table were all sticky and filthy. Ew. If you are stopping in don't forget the sanitizer. Maybe it was just an off night. There are some decent reviews, but this place just isn't for me. Maybe I will try again if I hear they clean up a bit. But probably not.

I love a good oyster po-boy, but it is hard finding one that is reasonably prices. And with ACTUAL po-boy bread rather than sandwich bread. A place like this is hard to come-by with a true New Orleans touch and even name (Calliope). This is officially my go-to spot for oyster po-boy. I do like my po-boys drenched so I will have to ask for extra sauce next time. I am excited to try their other cajun options on the menu next time :) I saw others inside eating their seafood boils.

App to find a new place to eat with no real feelings toward any particular place. Landed on Calliope's page and read the reviews. Looked good to me so I headed there. Restaurant is on the end cap of a strip plaza. Has a drive-thru as well (pleasantly surprised to see that on my way out). Parking is ample as most businesses were not open on a Saturday after 4p. Parked right in front. Dining room has about 6 tables for up to 4 people each, as well as two Hi-Top tables with seating for two each. Counter has 40" TV screens with the entire menu on them right above the cashier station. Menu cycles through pics of a few food offerings as well. Came because of the review suggestion of the Boudin egg rolls and the Suicide Shrimp Boiling Pot. Ordered both from the nice cashier who explained the entire menu, best sellers and offered modifications to the rice as well. After I paid for the order, was given a disc pager and took a seat. Dining room was clean and well lit. Waited about 15 minutes and the cashier motioned to me that my order was ready. She explained that the boiling pot sauce was placed on the side so the shrimp wouldn't be soggy and explained the other sauces that were included in my order, which were the boudin remoulade and the boiling pot garlic butter. I paid about $28 for the appetizer and main entree. They offer sliced cake, bottled flavored punches and Coke product fountain drinks, as well. It took me about 30 min to make it home and the food was still hot. The shrimp are small to medium in size; the fried rice comes with scrambled eggs, carrots, peas and onions (which I had removed). Boiling pot comes with one potato and a mini ear of corn with a boiled egg. Think: shrimp boil deconstructed. The sauce was mild flavor {offerings are Regular (no spice), Mild (medium spice) and Extra (chili sauce based spice)}. The sauce on the rice and shrimp were flavorful but I found even the mild to be too spicy for my taste (have acid reflux, so I actively avoid spicy foods). The rice was good (I added extra scrambled eggs, additional fee) and the plate is more than enough for two people. The egg rolls have cream cheese inside. Though not my taste, my roommate enjoyed it with the remoulade it comes with. Overall, between the cleanliness of the location, the service of the staff, the portion size, and value for money, I will be back to sample other items from the menu.

The kind that tastes like someone's grandma has been back there cooking all day with love and zero shortcuts. The pot roast was tender, flavorful, and absolutely melt-in-your-mouth. The green beans were perfectly seasoned, the mashed potatoes were rich and comforting, and yes... This meal felt like comfort food done right -- hearty, homemade, and exactly what your soul needs after a long day. The portions were generous, the flavors were spot on, and now I'm honestly wondering how many times I've driven past this hidden gem without stopping. There were also a lot of families, which was cute, although I personally am not buying my daughter $16 fries. Our waitress was personable and made great suggestions, especially regarding mocktails. This is important for non-drinkers because there are no mocktails on the drink menu, but the bartender will craft something you will like. Even my friend who normally avoids mocktails was very impressed. Apps: Crab Hushpuppies - 10/10: Crunchy, crabby, and came with a fantastic honey butter sauce. Caviar Tater Tots - 6/10: Well done -- they literally whipped the potato on the inside -- but at $37, you are paying more for the caviar, which was missing that fresh, creamy saltiness you normally seek. You also only get 4 tots. I would just get two orders of the crab hushpuppies. Mains: Chicken - 10/10: The truffle sauce was dreamy, and I think they could sell it on the streets. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and tender, and the dish also came with flaked truffles on top. I normally do not order chicken out, but this dish makes me wonder what I've been missing. Lobster fettuccini - 7/10: I don't think this is the dish to get here. The lobster didn't taste the freshest, and it also didn't have a lot of lobster to begin with. The sauce was well done and clearly made with lobster stock. I would come back, but there are dishes that shine much brighter than others.

We ordered coffees along with the crab hush puppies, gumbo, avocado toast, and ended with their massive cinnamon roll. It was the perfect spread and everything was so flavorful!
