The gumbo was soooooo good. This bowl cost $20 which I thought was a little pricey, but they do give you a lot of meat and it's yummy the shrimp and catfish was ok. It definitely needed the sauce they give and you will need more than one. (FYI they do charge for extra sauce) Be prepared to wait a bit, we had to wait about 15min for gumbo and a shrimp catfish plate. I would also recommend waiting on it, don't just go sit in the car. I pass this place all the time and finally decided to stop by, and so glad I did! Babyyy, the flavor is flavoring!! They were out of catfish but the swai was still good and fried to perfection. This is my husband and I's 2nd time coming here and the food is good but the wait time is unacceptable. We live an hour away and there is no reason why we were at the location before the truck itself, with the wait time being almost an hour both times we came.Maybe they were running behind as things do happen, however, if you are to open at a certain time,aunt you should be there an hour before you open to prep. ) what do I know ), unfortunately, we will not be back. I really can't find anything bad to say about the food. The gumbo is fire! On this visit I also got the fish & shrimp platter with fries. I love the toasted bread. The amount of sauce they give with the platter is disproportionate. You literally get one tiny sauce with 6 shrimp and a big piece of fish. That's not enough and to charge $1 per tiny sauce is insane! My only complaint is about the sauce portion. Please be more fair when it comes to the portions and the price. Really sad because we've been wanting to try this place for a while. Yesterday we got the fish plate, boiled shrimp and large gumbo. The fish plate was not seasoned at all, very bland, very disappointing, even the fries. We ended up throwing it away. 0/10 The boiled shrimp didn't taste like they boiled it with seasoning, only that they sprinkled some on top. It wasn't flavorful at all tho, not even spicy even though i paid an extra $2 for spicy. It taste like they just put Tonys seasoning and butter on them. Also majority of them were overcooked, making the shell stick to the shrimp. 1/10 potatoes weren't overcooked. Lastly the gumbo was good, definitely not the best i had tho. I would've wanted it a little spicy, and less watery, but it was the best thing we had from there. 8/10. For $55 it definitely wasn't worth it. read more

Gumbo was pretty decent. Be prepared to wait for your food-around 30 mins AFTER you actually order it at the window of the food truck. Very dangerous area of town also. Be vigilant about your surroundings if you go. If I happened to be in the area I'd maybe stop by again. However, the wait, location and 'pretty good' gumbo make it hard for me to say I'd make the trip there just for that. Many people have never had REAL flavorful Louisiana gumbo so they don't have much to compare this with and say this is the best. It's pretty good but not on the level with grandma-made home cooked Louisiana gumbo. Appreciate their effort though. read more

Crawfish is juicy and seasoned well within. Not on the outside. This place does not disappoint. The service was great and the owner Wallie was very personable. Pictured is 5lbs I saved the other lb for another day. Your crawfish and sides are made fresh. The thing I really like about these crawfish were that the juices were soaked in the crawfish and the spice was just right. For those who like to suck the heads and eat the meat in the claws. The food at Wallie's is always great! I'm from the city myself so I had to try this place. I first tried the gumbo a while back like twice it was really good. Then another time I brought a pasta plate with fish for my husband. (fish is not Catfish it is Swai) my husband said it was okay. I've been eating Catfish for far too long not to know the difference...anyway the wait time could definitely be better overall. About a week ago I called ahead of time to order a shrimp platter with fries and hush puppies and I waited literally almost 50 minutes once I got there for my food. When I called I left my order with the owner Wallie who told me that "we're about 15 minutes away" weren't even there on time. I live not too far like 10 minutes. I left out about 30 minutes after I spoke with him. I was very patient I paid for my food and waited in the car. My order should have been 1 of the first orders pushed out. Instead that's not what happened. I saw a lot of people walking up to get food and I had been waiting so long. It was like they forgot about my order even though I had paid already and got my ticket. I get it that it takes a while for grease to get hot I'm a cook myself but I do not have my own business. Shrimps and fries take minutes to cook once dropped in! It should not have taken almost 1 hour no matter if you didn't open when you normally do for me to get my food. And of course this is what happens when you patronize with ya own people. Said all that to say I'll be cooking my own fries and shrimps at home from now on I have a shrimp guy that I found too it's called ddsseafood they are on instagram they have fresh shrimp they sell off the back of their truck and he's from the city too $5 a lb for the shrimps they have fish and fresh crabs too.
