This. That's the post. Yummy to the tummy. Delicious and nutritious. Full if flavor.

I pass this place all the time and finally decided to stop by, and so glad I did! Babyyy, the flavor is flavoring!! They were out of catfish but the swai was still good and fried to perfection. I usually have to eat my fish with tartar sauce, ketchup, and hot sauce but this was so good I ate it by itself. And the pasta was perfectly seasoned and creamy, and the garlic bread was even bussin! I got a brownie too and I'm sure that's gone be delicious too! S/o to Mr. Wallie and his amazing staff. I will definitely be back!

This place is absolutely amazing! I love their gumbo. It is so favorable and loaded with shrimp chicken and sausage. One of the benefits of living in Houston is enjoying this great food and service!

Hmmm... I was upset they were not answering the dang on phone. Lol I seen them cars waiting around and I wanted to get my order in before I come. I waited honestly about 22 mins for my food. At that time it was a rush hour for them. But you are welcomed to stand and wait or it will be delivered to your vehicle. I normally don't eat everyone's sausage but it tasted it and it was good. (I heard people talking about, so I kept it in my ordered) it is a option to substitute it for something else. Everything was good and I enjoyed it

I really can't find anything bad to say about the food. The gumbo is fire! On this visit I also got the fish & shrimp platter with fries. I love the toasted bread. The amount of sauce they give with the platter is disproportionate. You literally get one tiny sauce with 6 shrimp and a big piece of fish. That's not enough and to charge $1 per tiny sauce is insane! My only complaint is about the sauce portion. Please be more fair when it comes to the portions and the price. For those who aren't familiar with the area, it's in the hood so be prepared.

Superb hood eats....friendly customer service, great tasting fish & shrimp dinner, very nicely done pasta dish. Very busy today, call in your order if you can. Will surely return. DO NOT forget the lemonade, deliciousness.

If you know me, you know I'm a lover of CRAWFISH . The tasty mud big! Wallie's definitely satisfied. They are located in the Sunnyside community right off of Bellfort. Considering we are still in the earlier days of crawfish season, the crawfish were not as big as I prefer, but still very tasty. Go check them out!

Wallie's is definitely one of my favorites in the city. Being that I'm from Louisiana, this food truck makes me feel right at home. The Pasta with Fried Fish is by far one of the best dishes I've had from any food truck in Houston. I recommend you call in order. My wife got the boiled crawfish & shrimp, and she liked it as well.

The food was delicious, the only downside is that I had to wait an hour to get it. I like the fact that they bring your order to your vehicle.

There's a place for it, but it may be under repair. ‍ I did get a laugh at the sign over the front door. Once inside I was pleasantly surprised! The bar is right up front, and to the left are several romantic swanky tables. Jazz and R&B music was playing. Great ambiance. Be careful when walking, because the floor is plank like flooring. Same for when heading out to the backyard patio area. I was told by my party to order food at the bar before going to the patio. This was a good tip because I didn't notice anyone servicing the tables prior to the food arriving. The outdoor area is literally like being in a backyard with several areas to sit. The food looked really good. However, being allergic to shrimp, I didn't want to risk eating fish fried in the shrimp oil. So I opted for the Cobb Salad. Note: They don't offer diet sodas. So I had water with a slice of lemon, in a fancy wine glass. I felt fancy! My group had an awesome time. Next time I may bring my citronella candle to keep the flies at bay, especially once the food arrives. I am looking forward to returning with my guy for a quaint dinner.

The vibe is great, the decor is awesome, the food delivers consistently, and service rarely takes a day off -- it's just a solid place to go when you're up for some great southern comfort classics. Cocktails, delicious. The daily food specials make it refreshing. The oysters never disappoint. We've rarely had to wait long on any ordered items and servers are all top notch. My only minor complaint is some of the larger groups visiting can sometimes forget there are others in the restaurant. We don't need to hear your entire conversation about the latest office gossip.

*this review is only for crawfish, not their regular menu (which is amazing) *…read more We went here during crawfish season because they've been advertising their $8/lb crawfish, and we trusted that it would be great given the quality of their regular menu. We went on a Saturday for lunch. Hopefully this was just a one-off, but if you're looking for good Cajun boiled crawfish, this is not it. We started off with 6 lbs (group of 4) of their regular crawfish. First off, they put the Cajun seasoning on outside/shell (!!), which is a cardinal sin for Cajuns. They also minimally seasoned the boil, so the meat was lacking salt and flavor. We ordered 3 more lbs with the "wet sauce" (garlic butter), thinking the lack of flavor may be attributed to this being the first-ish batch of the day. Nope, the second batch was even less seasoned than the first. The sauce was good, but it didn't make up for the unseasoned meat. The crawfish were a good size, at least... Come on guys, I expect more from a Gulf Coast seafood restaurant!

Calliop's is close to NRG Stadium, across from Shipley's Do-Nuts on S. Main at Murworth…read more I am a first time diner. I opened my Yelp! App to find a new place to eat with no real feelings toward any particular place. Landed on Calliope's page and read the reviews. Looked good to me so I headed there. Restaurant is on the end cap of a strip plaza. Has a drive-thru as well (pleasantly surprised to see that on my way out). Parking is ample as most businesses were not open on a Saturday after 4p. Parked right in front. Dining room has about 6 tables for up to 4 people each, as well as two Hi-Top tables with seating for two each. Counter has 40" TV screens with the entire menu on them right above the cashier station. Menu cycles through pics of a few food offerings as well. Came because of the review suggestion of the Boudin egg rolls and the Suicide Shrimp Boiling Pot. Ordered both from the nice cashier who explained the entire menu, best sellers and offered modifications to the rice as well. After I paid for the order, was given a disc pager and took a seat. Dining room was clean and well lit. Waited about 15 minutes and the cashier motioned to me that my order was ready. She explained that the boiling pot sauce was placed on the side so the shrimp wouldn't be soggy and explained the other sauces that were included in my order, which were the boudin remoulade and the boiling pot garlic butter. I paid about $28 for the appetizer and main entree. They offer sliced cake, bottled flavored punches and Coke product fountain drinks, as well. It took me about 30 min to make it home and the food was still hot. The shrimp are small to medium in size; the fried rice comes with scrambled eggs, carrots, peas and onions (which I had removed). Boiling pot comes with one potato and a mini ear of corn with a boiled egg. Think: shrimp boil deconstructed. The sauce was mild flavor {offerings are Regular (no spice), Mild (medium spice) and Extra (chili sauce based spice)}. The sauce on the rice and shrimp were flavorful but I found even the mild to be too spicy for my taste (have acid reflux, so I actively avoid spicy foods). The rice was good (I added extra scrambled eggs, additional fee) and the plate is more than enough for two people. The egg rolls have cream cheese inside. Though not my taste, my roommate enjoyed it with the remoulade it comes with. Overall, between the cleanliness of the location, the service of the staff, the portion size, and value for money, I will be back to sample other items from the menu.

Something simple that should be an easy win. Unfortunately, everything leaned the same direction: either it was heavy, over-sauced, or overly garlicky. It tasted more like dressed-up frozen food than something thoughtfully prepared. And listen...I don't mind indulgent. But there still has to be balance and fresh food. Fresh like it was raw and delivered today, not fresh like fried in the last 15 mins. When everything is coated, covered, and competing, nothing actually stands out. The drinks didn't help either. They leaned hard on alcohol without much flavor behind them--more "this will get you there" than "this tastes good." Nothing was terrible. But nothing made me want another bite, either. And with seafood, that's kind of the whole point. The atmosphere is friendly, great music, and the service was very attentive. Even the presentation wasn't bad. It just wasn't enough.
