Plastic fried into my shrimp batter
    Brittany M.

Unfortunately there was plastic fried into the very first shrimp that I bit into. This was a complete choking hazard for me and I'm incredibly disappointed with the restaurant for this, especially being pregnant. This situation could have easily ended worse than it did. I wanted to like this food so bad but I can't comfortably eat it knowing there may be more plastic in it. My friend also ordered fish that was terrible. It was fried super soft and soggy. Overall we are beyond disappointed in our food and will not be returning.

The Service at the counter was good and Friendly, especially when talking with Sam (The Manager) . The restaurant is Clean. The menu is large. I ordered the special 10-piece Shrimp one Filet with can a of soda, Fried Mushrooms, and 2 wings. Delivery is available through GrubHub, UBER EATS, and DoorDash. I would love to see SW location. I would love it even more if they fried it in Beef Tallow instead of vegetable oil to make it healthier than Seed or vegetable oil. Very well Seasoned with their special seasoning. I was given a choice to use it, or put on the side. I am very impressed. Tried fried mushrooms and they are very good. You can eat in or take out, cooked to order. Even order online. This makes up for the bad BBQ I tried yesterday.

First impression was the smell. I immediately smelled the spices and seasonings before going inside. This intrigued me and gave initial excitement to give this place a try.

If I could give zero stars I would. Chicken was over cooked and dried out. No meat to eat bc it was all hard.

The website where is does not specify if the wings are naked or fried

If I could give this restaurant less than one star I would. Customer service is terrible. I called to order wings over the phone was told they don't do phone orders had to place online order. I then placed my order online received my food is was baked and not fried. I said I'm bringing the food back they said that they could not take it back. Then I asked where on the website does it say the wings would be baked he said it doesn't you just should know this. Then asked for manager was advised no manager on duty and can put in a request for refund on online ordering site.

I've literally eaten here 3 times in the past two weeks! The food is always fresh and taste so good. I always add the lemon pepper seasoning and it never disappoints! If you haven't tried this place definitely check it out!

Can't believe I paid 3.99 for the smallest order of coleslaw I have ever seen. Love the chicken but COME ON!

Fire & I love their lemon pepper seasoning. Service is always good, walk-in or drive thru is fresh every TIME. Of course I'll be back..

Peach Cobbler or at least that's what I ordered. What a disappointment!

There's a place for it, but it may be under repair. ‍ I did get a laugh at the sign over the front door. Once inside I was pleasantly surprised! The bar is right up front, and to the left are several romantic swanky tables. Jazz and R&B music was playing. Great ambiance. Be careful when walking, because the floor is plank like flooring. Same for when heading out to the backyard patio area. I was told by my party to order food at the bar before going to the patio. This was a good tip because I didn't notice anyone servicing the tables prior to the food arriving. The outdoor area is literally like being in a backyard with several areas to sit. The food looked really good. However, being allergic to shrimp, I didn't want to risk eating fish fried in the shrimp oil. So I opted for the Cobb Salad. Note: They don't offer diet sodas. So I had water with a slice of lemon, in a fancy wine glass. I felt fancy! My group had an awesome time. Next time I may bring my citronella candle to keep the flies at bay, especially once the food arrives. I am looking forward to returning with my guy for a quaint dinner.

Parking ended up being easier than expected--street parking was free after 6 and we found a spot pretty quickly. We asked for a booth, but they told us the only one available was still occupied. The hostess gave us a couple options--either wait, sit in a more busy/noisy area, or go to what they call "the library," which is quieter and more intimate. We chose the library and I'm glad we did. It felt a lot more relaxed and away from all the noise. The place itself is really nice--very chic, good vibes. The bar area was pretty packed and the crowd was super diverse, which I liked. We ordered the crispy squid (calamari) to start--I'd give it like an 8/10. Flavor was good, just not as crispy as I expected. One of the hostesses actually came by and gave us complimentary Prosecco, which was a really nice touch. For mains, I got the 12 oz ribeye (asked for medium rare) with shrimp scampi--I'd say 7/10. Good portion, good flavor. My husband got the cowboy steak (medium), and we shared the gratin potatoes and creamy spinach. Both sides were also around a 7/10--solid, good portions, well-seasoned. The only thing was I think our steaks' doneness might've been switched. Mine came out medium and his was more medium rare. We told our server and we just ate it anyway, it was still good. We ended with crème brûlée--probably a 6/10 for me. It wasn't as smooth and velvety as I usually like, but still decent. Overall, I'd give the experience an 8/10. We enjoyed our time and I'd come back to try other things.

We went on a Saturday for lunch. Hopefully this was just a one-off, but if you're looking for good Cajun boiled crawfish, this is not it. We started off with 6 lbs (group of 4) of their regular crawfish. First off, they put the Cajun seasoning on outside/shell (!!), which is a cardinal sin for Cajuns. They also minimally seasoned the boil, so the meat was lacking salt and flavor. We ordered 3 more lbs with the "wet sauce" (garlic butter), thinking the lack of flavor may be attributed to this being the first-ish batch of the day. Nope, the second batch was even less seasoned than the first. The sauce was good, but it didn't make up for the unseasoned meat. The crawfish were a good size, at least... Come on guys, I expect more from a Gulf Coast seafood restaurant!

My to go order was packed with plenty of condiments and was hot and fresh. The catfish didn't have any flavor or seasoning and had a strong fishy taste. But I must say it was battered and fried to perfection. The fries and hush puppies were tasty. The crawfish étouffée was extremely way too salty. The roux honestly tasted just like the Louisiana fish fry étouffée base in the pack or jar which I'm very familiar with. I was hoping the taste would make me think I was back in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana with homemade roux from scratch. But hey maybe I just caught it on an off day. Fresh like it was raw and delivered today, not fresh like fried in the last 15 mins. When everything is coated, covered, and competing, nothing actually stands out. The drinks didn't help either. They leaned hard on alcohol without much flavor behind them--more "this will get you there" than "this tastes good." Nothing was terrible. But nothing made me want another bite, either. As part of a friend's visit, I suggested finding some sort of cajun/creole cuisine since she doesn't get it back home and she found Creole Kitchen and Daiquiris. This is one of those, potentially easily skipped, restaurants connected to a gas station. To me, gas station food is a very Texas thing (also in Miami where one of my favorite tapas restaurants exist) so I'm glad we got to take her to a bit of a double whammy. This is definitely a casual eatery and seemed as if most people do takeaway but there were a few tables for dining in restaurant. We were kindly greeted by the staff and the cashier let us know they had physical menus to review as we all tried to read the overhead tv menus. We weren't super hungry but wanted to sample various things so went with the seafood combo platter, side of fried okra, collards, and my partner got a small gumbo jeaux. The food came out hot and fresh and in to go boxes, I don't think they carry dine in settings but we were provided extra togo containers to eat in. The fried platter was done very well, fish was super tender and moist with a nice crunchy cornmeal batter. The shrimp were also excellently fried and retained their bounce without being overcooked. The fries and okra were also just too notch to me. I also liked the hashbrown and thought it was a nice sweet bite to go along with the fried foods. I enjoyed the flavor of the collards but thought there was a bit too much broth to greens ratio, the flavor was on point for me though. I had a small taste of my partner's gumbo and thought it was good but didn't have much to make a strong opinion. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant, esp with it being so close to me.
