I'm surprised this restaurant has such rave reviews on google. My dad had heard about it on Facebook so we thought we'd give it a try. We were hoping that it could replace my dad's favorite cajun seafood restaurant after my parents moved away from the suburbs but it ultimately fell a little short. This is a very casual, fast food feel kind of restaurant where you order at the counter then go find a table. They're not very quick about turning over tables - there were a few tables that were still dirty from previous parties when we went to get a table after paying. The value here honestly isn't that great - for the price you pay, you'd expect larger portions. The fries (crispy and well seasoned) and garlic butter toast were the best parts. The fried shrimp and chicken tenders were very small, and the fried catfish wasn't very crispy and didn't seem fresh (sort of tasted reheated like it was previously frozen). My boyfriend's shrimp étouffée was so insanely salty - he had to make several trips to refill his water because he was so thirsty. Both of my parents got red beans and rice as a side but one came with a generous amount of sauce while the other was very dry. Overall, we weren't too impressed with the quality of the food here and would not return. read more

The Catch is a casual, family friendly restaurant with a Cajun vibe. The decor is really cute and the staff was very friendly. We ordered a good bit of food and it all came out fast and piping hot. I forgot to take a picture of the crab boil bag but it was clearly the star of the show. We got the medium spice level which was very flavorful and not to spicy. It also came with corn, potatoes and shrimp. All the seafood was cooked perfectly and not chewy at all. We all had a great time and would definitely recommend giving it a try. read more

We were really unhappy with the food. We got the boiled shrimp that came in a bag full of butter. The taste was bland and the butter got everywhere! A friend got the catfish. The breading was bland. We also got the Cesar salad with blackened chicken. The chicken had gristle in it. I was excited about trying it and leaving very disappointed with plates still full. I gave it a 1 star for the fried okra. It was good. read more

I wanted a shrimp po boy. I went with a friend and she ordered the shrimp basket. When it was my turn, I said I would like a cup of gumbo and a shrimp po boy and she curtly said "We don't have any sandwiches." Ok, so I assume they ran out of bread. But then they had no pasta, no coleslaw, no red beans and rice, and they were out of all sodas AND no po-boys. The cup of gumbo was tasty but very oily. I ended up ordering some white fish and it was just okay, and the hush puppies were good, and the green beans were fresh and roasted nicely. The girl was pretty rude, annoyed that I kept ordering things that they didn't have, but that's not my fault. A smile can do so much but this new model of customer service lacks cordiality. I'm pretty sure the shrimp po boy is very good because my son recommended it, but I'll take my money where people are nice and smile. :) read more

I cannot RATE this as the service was HORRIBLE! We used to go there on a regular basis. We always brought new people in and we also brought Chocolate to all the employees as a thank you. The food was GREAT. The decor really cool...the Service was good with the EXCEPTION of the last time we were there. The new young girl at the counter was rude, the cost had gone up double...but she wanted to charge us $2.50 for an 8 oz cup of water in a Styrofoam cup. We are on special diets so water is the only thing we can drink. WE left and will not be back. If I knew the girls' name I would have immediately reported her to management. Teri G read more

*Buyer Be Ware* *If you are craving Cajun food do not come here!!!! I ordered a bowl of gumbo, sm catfish platter(burnt red beans and rice), and burnt gumbo. Catfish was so thin I might as well order a deep fried batter combo instead of fish. The gumbo and red beans and rice had a similar dark burnt look in which you first smell before tasting. It is not appetizing at all. Please if you are in the area and are craving cajun food just go to calliopes. This place needs to be shut down immediately. read more

Stopped in for a bite to eat. The restaurant needed some house keeping. There was food on the floors. Mop and broom sitting out by the tables for the customers to see. The restaurcould have used a good scrub down as well. 2/5 The customer service was excellent! Everyone was very nice and accommodating. 5/5 I had popcorn shrimp with tater tots and hush puppies. The hush puppies tasted stale. The tater tots were good but the shrimp was gross. 2/5 The chicken pasta with garlic bread was excellent! 5/5 My nephew said his burger and fries were really good. 4.5/5 Banana pudding 1.5/5 Overall, this place reminded me of an upscale Long John Silver or Captain D's (telling my age). read more

The food was great!!! The service was amazing!! Ashley (cashier/waitress) is amazing!! Very warm, sweet, and attentive!! Thanks Ashley!!

So based off the reviews I was a little skeptical about dining in here but as you can see I gave it five stars. When I went in I was greeted promptly but I needed a couple minutes to look over the menu. She cashier/server was super nice. What I noticed is the servers bring out the food as ready so if your partners food is ready before yours it may be a few minutes in between. I had the crabs and oysters. The crab were flavorful and the oysters came out of their shell I wasn't a fan of that but it's was pretty tasty. Ambiance definitely gives the Krusty Krab though . Oh and I went on a Thursday and they were giving free complementary margaritas I believe you just got one. But over all I'll definitely go back yall should try it. read more

they are true scammers. two "catfish and shrimp dinners" with water and lemon turned out to be $80 with nasty wannabe unlimited margarita. it's very disturbing old man will not leave you alone, cashier will try and cheat you out of your money, same young boys i use to have removed from walmart parking lot from selling candy are the same young boys that came inside the restaurant selling candy to customers as well and none of the employees said anything to them. they will purposely get your order wrong and will not take accountability for the confusion at all. they are definitely a -0/10 across the board. read more

Craving a catfish po- boy, I decided to go to The Catch. I ordered to go. When I got home, and bit into the po-boy, I realized I was not biting into a meaty fillet, but mostly fried coating. There appeared to be 2 "fillets" on the sandwich...unfortunately the both were so thin there was very little meat. Light even shone through them. The bread was also tough...you know like when you microwave bread too long? The fries were ok...hush puppies a little heavy and tough also. I'm not going to say I won't go back (and choose something different) but I was very disappointed. read more

I ordered a snow crab boil about an hour ago. I made sure to order ahead so that I could get myself together before heading out. Mind you, I ordered ONLINE. I get there and the girl at the counter tells me that her manager refunded my money because they don't have snow crab, or banana pudding. Then, she doesn't know how to print a receipt with the refund. Mind you, I'm not getting my money back for 2-3 business days. I mention that to her, and she tells me that she doesn't know nothing about that. Never offered an apology, a different meal, a drink...Nothing. Sad to say that I have NEVER had an experience like this at The Catch but I will not be returning. I see why their rating is what it is. read more

We have been regulars at the Catch since it opened in 2023. We absolutely love the food. The fried cornmeal batter reminds me of my mother's fried fish and we really enjoyed it. When I ordered I asked for my whitefish to be breaded in cornmeal batter, and she told me "we only use that batter on the Catfish. Excuse me when I was there last week and had that exact dish with corn meal batter! Now, a week later, you don't do that? .. Due to my husband's health situation, we had not been there in about 2 months. And, were we were glad to go back when, we discovered that the chef would cook fish for my husband without any salt. And we were so ecstatic because it 's so hard to find a place that would do that. Yesterday we went. We ordered 2 pieces of fish each and one side each. We asked for water. because that's all we can drink with our diets and she gave us a little cup that was not much bigger than a 5 ounce Dixie.Cup. When we asked for a larger cup, she told us that it would cost us $2.50 for WATER!. The cup was styrofoam for gosh sakes the least expensive of cups. We know we were in the restaurant business! She argued with us about the price, we literally walked out as she was trying to get us to pay for our food.. I looked at my husband and I said, I'm sorry i know you were looking forward to the fish. ( He had recently gotten out of the hospital And it was a treat to go out to eat finally!) He totally agreed with me, and we left! Sadly we won't eat there again. I was furious! This is ridiculous to treat good customers that way...I said Let's go! We will not be back. I've never seen anyone so rude and disrespectful, especially to a client that had been going there since the place opened. We would bring our family there on a regular basis. In the past we even took them special treats because they were always so nice to us and treated us very respectfully. And now we won't be back. I wish I had gotten this female's name to report her to her manager. Unfortunately, all I remember is that her hair was a blondeish color . But it doesn't matter now.She burned her bridges with us. The saddest part was there were very few clients in there. Normally, we say hello, to the cooks, but they weren't even at the front. I don't see this business lasting very long. That's pretty sad! I didn't want to put any stars there where I normally would give them a five star rating because of this female. read more

I recently visited The Catch for a seafood boil and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in the atmosphere was welcoming and lively setting the tone for a great dining experience. Britney and Ashley S. made the experience even better with their friendly, attentive service they were so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. They checked in on us often without being overwhelming, made great recommendations, and had such a warm upbeat attitude the entire time. First time here. I ordered the family pack of 10 catfish, 12 "jumbo" shrimps, 8 hush puppies with two sides. Cute decor and clean place. The person was nice who took my order but was very distracted with other patrons just chatting. So my order was short 1 catfish which who has the time to go back and request that one missing fish, yeah it sucks bc a la cart it's $5 a fish so yeah technically lost $5. Chain restaurant. Located in the South Post Oak Shopping center near Randall's. I wanted to love this place because I am/was hoping it would bring more business to the area and it adds more to the variety of places to eat in the neighborhood. Plus, I love seafood! They have boiled and fried seafood, salads, po-boys, crawfish when in season, deserts, chicken fingers, lots of appetizers and sides. There is a bar area and they do serve free frozen drinks. I tried a peach something or other. Took two sips and tossed it. Maybe something I would have enjoyed in college on Bourbon St in New Orleans. There was a steady flow of customers when I came on a weeknight. I ordered the jumbo shrimp and they were nothing more than regular sized shrimp. I wasn't impressed at all. The condiments on the table were all sticky and filthy. Ew. If you are stopping in don't forget the sanitizer. Maybe it was just an off night. There are some decent reviews, but this place just isn't for me. Maybe I will try again if I hear they clean up a bit. But probably not. read more

We ordered boiled shrimp with garlic butter seasoning and the cajun platter with fried catfish, sausage and red beans and rice, and an order of onion rings. The onion rings were ok, but over-fried. There was a good 10 to 15 minutes between when they brought out my wife's shrimp and they brought my entree . The catfish was over-Fried and hard. There was lots of garlic visible on the shrimp, But it must've been that garlic in a jar because you couldn't taste it. This is the second time we've been here when we didn't get everything we ordered. They never brought my hushpuppies. Overall very mediocre. Also, we stood at the register for about five minutes before anyone came to take our order. They were all fooling around in the back. Won't order fried food here again - might try other things, but then again maybe not. This place is convenient, but there are better places Just a short drive away. read more

Decent food- doesn't knock your socks off. Everything we got was fried, but I think if I go back, I will expand a little to really explore the menu. Quick service. Staff was very friendly although interaction with them was very brief and limited to ordering at the counter. Food was brought out hot and fast, but with fried food, this is expected, and server snatched up our number and scurried off! Updating review today. Ordered admiral platter and oysters. It's enough to serve 4-5 people. Secondly how do you cheap out on the sauce? These are tiny condiment containers for a huge $50 order. 0 ketchup. 0 napkins The oysters didn't even come with lemons or any condiments. Then they had an order in line that held up the line for over 10 minutes. Cars piled up for no good reason in the drive through. ‍ all they had to do was have the big order drive past and park and serve the other 6 cars waiting behind them. The food is decent but the lack of common sense in the staff is a reflection of poor training. The service was terrible via phone with Javier hanging up on me twice. read more

I think it's time for me to give up on the catch. This is the second time in 3 months they have messed up my order. I ordered the shrimp boil which the shrimp was boiled too long the shells barely came off they were hard and dry and you couldn't taste the seasoning. I also ordered a catfish basket which had one piece of fish the size of my hand which was barely fried. It was chewy and not fried hard like I requested. I wish I had taken a picture of the crunch creature that ended up in our Cesar salad. When you read this review I really urge you to consider the fact that I have absolutely nothing to gain by writing a negative review. My husband and I flew in to town for my sisters wedding so we definitely looked homeless after shopping at kohls and carrying our bags. However, our appearance should not dictate how people are treated. We order 2 catfish and shrimp combos and one Cesar salad. I had eaten one shrimp , a bite of my catfish and my husband had eaten none of his combo meal when we discovered a grasshopper in the (very delicious btw) Cesar salad. A THREE INCH LONG GRASSHOPPER WAS IN OUR SALAD TOSSED IN DRESSING. It wasn't the grasshopper that was the downfall of our meal it was Gary , who stated he was the manager. Gary however, possesses no customer service or conflict resolution skills so I am curious how he obtained his position. When we brought the grasshopper filled salad to Gary he asks us if we want him to remake it or refund it...we were just about to ask for a remake when he proceeds to pretty much accuse us of putting the grasshopper in the meal. Gary says that the grasshopper wasn't in the salad and he knows this to be factual because he made the salad himself. He states "I don't know where y'all got that from but it didn't come from here." What in the horrible customer service response was that...WHO SAYS THAT!!!! I'm deducing that Gary made an assumption and came to the conclusion that we put a grasshopper in our meal because we were dressed down/in airport attire with our belongings. Here's a tip Gary , don't ever accuse someone of putting a grasshopper in their meal. Learn how to take accountability even if you personally did nothing wrong...you are a manager. You are the face of The Catch and you absolutely behaved with zero professionalism today. read more
