Catfish Nugget Basket

The Catch is a casual, family friendly restaurant with a Cajun vibe. The decor is really cute and the staff was very friendly. We ordered a good bit of food and it all came out fast and piping hot. I forgot to take a picture of the crab boil bag but it was clearly the star of the show. We got the medium spice level which was very flavorful and not to spicy. It also came with corn, potatoes and shrimp. All the seafood was cooked perfectly and not chewy at all. We all had a great time and would definitely recommend giving it a try.

The food was absolutely amazing! I had the crawfish with sausage and corn and everything was delicious. Also wonderful customer service, Ashley S. and Stephanie were very attentive and friendly. Will definitely be coming back soon!

Butter bag was a mess

We were really unhappy with the food. We got the boiled shrimp that came in a bag full of butter. The taste was bland and the butter got everywhere! A friend got the catfish. The breading was bland. We also got the Cesar salad with blackened chicken. The chicken had gristle in it. I was excited about trying it and leaving very disappointed with plates still full. I gave it a 1 star for the fried okra. It was good.

Calvin was the BEST!! We both had the Big Easy & it was delicious. We will definitely be back on on next visit!

Calvin was amazing & the food was delicious. We both had the Big Easy and a couple complimentary margaritas! We definitely will be back on our next visit!

Burnt gumbo bow. ( meats and stew is burnt). Quality standards are ridiculous to send this out to customers

*Buyer Be Ware* *If you are craving Cajun food do not come here!!!! I ordered a bowl of gumbo, sm catfish platter(burnt red beans and rice), and burnt gumbo. Catfish was so thin I might as well order a deep fried batter combo instead of fish. The gumbo and red beans and rice had a similar dark burnt look in which you first smell before tasting. It is not appetizing at all. Please if you are in the area and are craving cajun food just go to calliopes. This place needs to be shut down immediately.

Food on floor

Stopped in for a bite to eat. The restaurant needed some house keeping. There was food on the floors. Mop and broom sitting out by the tables for the customers to see. The restaurcould have used a good scrub down as well. 2/5 The customer service was excellent! Everyone was very nice and accommodating. 5/5 I had popcorn shrimp with tater tots and hush puppies. The hush puppies tasted stale. The tater tots were good but the shrimp was gross. 2/5 The chicken pasta with garlic bread was excellent! 5/5 My nephew said his burger and fries were really good. 4.5/5 Banana pudding 1.5/5 Overall, this place reminded me of an upscale Long John Silver or Captain D's (telling my age).

When I arrived, I was the only person there, which gave me the chance to learn more about the restaurant. I ordered the fried chicken with collard greens and mac and cheese and everything was delicious! Christina was one of the best servers I've ever had. She was friendly, attentive, and made a really good espresso martini. The food and service were so good that I had to return and try their brunch! Since the Astros were playing at home, Kulture also offered specials on appetizers and cocktails. Will I be back? Most definitely! The only thing missing was a live band. They were playing all the good R&B and 2000s hits, and I could honestly stay at Kulture all day grooving, eating, and sipping a few drinks!

Downstairs has warmer lights and a kinda delicate feel. Anyhow, Let me just cut straight to it. Honestly I expected more from the food, they were just meh. The chicken wings could do with some flavor and its presentation needs fixing, maybe cut them. The wings were also dry and we had to ask for ketchup so maybe add some of the syrup to it or offer gravy. We enjoyed the oxtail omelet even though a few of my party thought it needed a little salt to boost it. The fried green tomatoes could have a dipping sauce but the famous chilli biscuits were well received. The country Benedict is a fried boil egg. Just incase you wanted a poached egg for your Benedict and the salad was over powering. The drinks were great and refreshing. The mocktails they have were nice too.

There's also parking in the back of the restaurant, or you can street park. A great place to stop to eat if you're in the Museum district, but make sure to make reservations, since there's a bit of a wait otherwise. We tried the chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, hot chilli biscuits, oxtail omelette, jalapeño poppers, fried green tomato, croissant French toast, Mac n cheese and chicken fried steak. Of them all, I really liked the hot chilli biscuits, oxtail omelette, french toast and fried green tomatoes. The hot chilli biscuits were sized more like mini pancakes. The croissant French toast was delicious and sweet enough to eat without syrup, which is how I had it. I would get the oxtail omelette or the croissant French toast myself, if I come back. For drinks we tried the Moscow mule and peach mimosas. The peach mimosa was a little medicinal tasting, so I'd recommend the original mimosa.

So I quite naturally ordered the max. piece catfish (3 pc.) with fries and greens, and OMG! The flavor, the crispiness! Just like I fry it! Excellent customer service! Needless to say, this is now my "catfish spot" whenever I visit the area again. For dessert, I had the peach cobbler. Another hit! So balanced with flavor and sweetness! My family had the oxtails and blackened salmon. They are licking their fingers! Why is this place not rated a perfect 5?! You better believe they get 5 stars from me! Earned! So look, I am all about great food, and this place is really amazing. I saw this place while I was…read morewaiting at a light and thought who doesn't love Southern cooking? But, I do have some things I want to say. First, there is absolutely no signage or anything that explains what the items are, or even the basic whether you seat your self or not. It's kinda cafeteria style, you pick up a tray and silverware and then give them your choices. I did get it explained to me after standing at the counter looking like an idiot for a few minutes. I kind of fell in behind a couple of guys that came in right after me, I let them go because I had no idea. Second, there is nothing to tell you how much things cost. Protein Choices were smothered pork chops, meatloaf, chicken, turkey wings, fish and... wait for it.. oxtails. Now I know some of you are thinking HARD PASS on oxtails, but believe me, these are a rarity to find on a menu, I would say because of the cost, but also because they aren't quick to prepare. If you are offering oxtails on your menu, you have to have plenty on hand and be confident in your dish. Micheaux's hits the mark. Third, and this is very important, the food PLENTIFUL, and I do mean truly two people could probably eat what I got served. personally, I LOVE oxtails, but because nobody else in my house would even consider eating these, (they are not with me) and because they are super expensive in the store, I rarely make it for just myself. So of course I ordered the oxtails., it's served with rice, and two additional sides and cornbread. I ordered greens and green beans. It was pricey , like 37.00 before the tip, and as I was paying I was cursing myself for spending so much for lunch but..It's so delicious! I do think that the prices should be posted somewhere because ( and this is why it's getting 4 of 5 stars) I never would have ordered this knowing I would not be able to take it with me to reheat for later. I wish this wasn't an impulse stop while I was driving somewhere else . I don't know how the guys that were ahead of me put it all away in record time. They left before I started the review. I stopped eating to do the review because I want to eat more before I leave this area of town. I don't think this will travel well, especially if I can't reheat it. OMG, the man next to me just ate all of his food and just ordered a piece of chocolate cake that is making my mouth water. How am I supposed to finish what is in front of me and think about the cake too? I also want to mention that I erroneously picked up a salt shaker before I started to eat... Not needed, nothing needed salt at all, everything was perfectly seasoned. Well, I am calling it, I will take the rest with me and figure something out. Maybe one day I will be in the area again.
