My dad was craving the fried seafood platter from Pappadeaux's with the onion rings. Turns out they didn't have onion rings anymore so I was looking for a place with fried seafood and onion rings and up pops Lotus. My dad got his fried fish and onion rings and while he really enjoyed the fish he says the onion rings were disappointing. I tried one and they were alright. My mom had the fried oysters and French fries. I wasn't a big fan of the oysters. I went with the fried shrimp and loaded fries with a side of lotus sauce and loved mine! The shrimp were a great size 2-3 bites, well cooked with a nice seasoned breading. The loaded fries had enough sauce and cheese that I enjoyed them to the last bite. This is a casual piece, order at the counter, they still bring it to you. Everything is served in disposable/to go containers. Price ends up being about $10-15 a person. I also really enjoyed the wall decor, great murals!

Good was really good, we order the hot box and the fried rice with shrimp and crawfish tail. We order the boil mild but still had a kick to it, so make sure to order mild if you can't handle the heat. The fried rice with the crack sauce was my favorite. Strongly recommend and the staff was very helpful.

Trey was amazing! He helped me decide what to get on the menu and gave great recommendations! He was really kind as well and made sure we enjoyed everything. This location is really nice and clean as well! Food tasted great and was seasoned well. It also came out really quickly.

I think Lotus has lost its touch. I used to love the food here but lately it's been a miss. I'm hoping they get it back to where it used to be for the food and customer service which is lacking at this location. For now, I'd still recommend the loud pack rice with crack sauce (must have crack sauce bc otherwise no point). But venture outside of that on the menu at your own risk. Esp the turkey neck which was pretty much all bone and the little meat that was on there was very tough. Waste of $5. And I basically had to beg for the crack sauce that should have come with my meals automatically when I ordered it online. So double check your to-go orders and be prepared to wait a while should they have forgotten anything with your order - the other food will be lukewarm by the time you get what you're missing and even when you tip you still may be met with an attitude.

If you're a fan of Southern seafood with bold flavor and generous portions, this place is a must-try. The dining room was very spacious and clean. The service was friendly as well. The catfish filets were crispy on the outside, flaky and tender inside and seasoned just right. The fried shrimp were huge, juicy, and packed with flavor. They didn't skimp on size or taste! The gumbo was rich and savory. The corn on the cob was spicy, buttery, and bursting with flavor. The chicken wings had a crispy skin, juicy meat, and bold seasoning The hushpuppies were crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful inside, with a hint of sweetness that balances all the savory. While the fried okra was a little soggy for my taste, the crack ranch that it comes with was literally crack. The oysters had a bit too much batter but were decent. All in all, Lotus Seafood delivers big on flavor, portions, and Southern comfort. I can't wait to go back!

During a time when there's seafood boils galore, Lotus' no-frills, but flavorful style delivers! There are sooo many combo options to choose from on the menu, but I'm glad I settled for the classic (cluster crab legs, shrimp, Old Bay sausage and boiled egg) with a splash of "crack" sauce to up the ante on my crab clusters and shrimp. The sweet, but potent daiquiri helped cool the spice that had my nose running, LOL. The service was quick and friendly as were the women who were super patient with me as I tried to figure out what to order (with this being my first time visiting, I was overwhelmed, to say the least). The tabletops were clean and well-spaced. The parking was plentiful.

I came to Lotus Seafood to meet a friend for lunch. The restaurant had quite a few customers when I got there right after 11:35. I think the lunch crowd came after we left. The menu is easy to read with many selections. They also have laminated menus on the counter with stuff not on the menu board. The employees were helpful to give us guidance in choosing the right dish. I read the reviews before coming here. So, I had some idea as what I want. But after looking at the whole menu, my eyes opened wide. I ordered Combo Lo Mein and Fried Green Tomato with Blacken Crawfish topping. He got Cajun Alfredo Bowl. The food took about 15 minutes to arrive because they are made to order. Food was delicious and fresh. We had so much leftovers. Oh, there is no lotus here. I tried to make connection of the name. Oh well.

Pictured are my leftovers. I didn't normally leave leftovers, but the portions here are HUGE! I ordered fried catfish and shrimp, fried green tomatoes, and potato salad. My hubby will eat well when I get home. What I had was absolutely delicious, seasoned, crispy where it should be and tender inside. Lotus Seafood knows what's up! Next time I'll try the crawfish or the soft shell crab with Louisiana fried rice. The menu here is no joke. I didn't know what to order, but the guy at the counter was patient. He suggested menu items and showed off their new additions. I highly suggest you take a look at the menu before you come, but be prepared to change your mind. LOL! Great customer service! Nice, clean eating space and self serve drink area. I don't normally give 5 stars, but this place deserves it. In the picture: Fried Green Tomatoes, 1 catfish filet (1 of 2) and hushpuppies (from an 8 Pc).

As a Houston native born and raised on the Northside, I've watched Lotus Seafood go from a local gem to a straight-up city staple, now TikTok famous, but always ours first. Honestly, I don't even know why I'm just now writing this. We Houston folks got a habit of gatekeeping the good stuff and only reviewing when it's bad... but not today. Lotus doesn't need my praise, it stays packed and the flavors speak for themselves but I gotta give love where it's due. This review ain't just about the flavor-packed boils, crispy Southern-fried Cajun-Creole goodness, or that Asian fusion twist that keeps your palate guessing. Today, it's about the customer service -- and baby, they did NOT disappoint. Tempestt, Dennis, Russell, and Shara? Legends. The energy matched the music and the vibe: vibrant, lively, and welcoming. They didn't just rattle off fan faves! They gave real, personalized recommendations based on what they love. It felt like a friend putting you on game, not just staff doing their job. I always smile when I see them; this spot feels like home. Let's talk eats though, because whew... my go-to indulgences? * Soft shell crab or lobster fried rice * Catfish platter with a side of seafood Alfredo * Oysters Rockefeller * Or when I'm feelin' real Houston -- extra spicy crawfish or crab boil Tuh! If you know, you know. This location? Hands down my new favorite. Flavor, service, and Southern hospitality all wrapped in one. If you ain't been yet, you're sleeping. But don't say I didn't try to put you on.

Dennis has always provided a 10 out of 10 experience, but I'd like to specifically highlight Trey, the manager at the Southwest Freeway and Bissonet location. Every time I visit, Trey goes above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience is perfect. Since I do not eat pork, I always let him know, and he is always accommodating, offering substitutes without hesitation. In addition to his attentive service, he frequently checks in around the restaurant, ensuring that everything is satisfactory. His efforts to refill drinks and the overall genuine care he shows for the customers make a significant difference. Moreover, the food quality under his and Nico management is outstanding. It truly stands apart from other kitchens

Service was quick, ambiance is casual and loud. Food was just ok. Too much hype. The corn smelled and tasted like it was a day old and didn't taste good. We ordered 2 loud packs at $21. The only thing decent was the potato and the shrimp. Really not worth the price. I would not recommend.

While visiting family in Houston, Tex. we stopped at The Lotus Seafood Restaurant (Bissonnet at 59 location) which is one of my grand daughter's favorite seafood spots. I found the staff to be friendly and very helpful with ordering and our order was prepared quickly. The Lotus came through delivering a variety of delicious food to everyone in our group of five. I had the Chicken Lo Mein Noodles that were seasoned well and had good meaty portions of tender chicken. Other family members opted for crab and shrimp dishes. We had just returned from spending time and enjoying the seafood in New Orleans and to be honest, The Lotus Seafood Restaurant did not disappoint. The Lotus Seafood Restaurant actually surpassed some of the restaurants we ate at in the Big Easy. There's ample onsite parking available and they also offer online ordering. The Lotus has a large inside dining area with plenty of tables. If in the area definitely give them a try and don't forget to try their lemonade (adult version) and their signature "Crack Sauce".

Their menu consists of apps (mostly fried), soups and salads, lobster dishes, steaks, vietnamese seafood dishes, shellfish entrees (clams, scallops, etc), an oyster section, stir fry dishes, rice creations, and fried seafood dishes. They serve beer and wine but have some Asian wine-based cocktails. This is truly a fusion restaurant since they have Vietnamese, American, Chinese, Thai, and Peruvian influences on their menu. They have boiled seafood, of course, including crawfish during the season. On every table is also a $12.95 lunch menu with soups, sandwiches and seafood dishes. This may be one of the better deals out there. We tried a few dishes: drunken lobster, surf and turf, crab fried rice, drunken tofu, and shrimp with salted egg. Two additional people in our group came a little later and actually ordered the lunch special (pork chop plate) and chicken wings. Their napkins are a little strange as they're tri-fold style like you would normally see in a restroom. The dishes were pretty good, but I ended up eating mostly noodles since their garlic noodles are pretty addicting. The sirloin that came on the steak dish was supposedly a little tough but that is typical of a basic sirloin steak. I didn't actually get to sample it since other people grabbed it before I could. They only had L and XL size lobster the day we came...so they said their prices were around $90 and $108...I think we selected the $90 size. The drunken lobster dish can be shared between 2 people as it's a big platter but just 1 cut up lobster. The garlic noodles beneath the lobster pieces on the drunken lobster are way better than the noodles beneath the shrimp and steak on the surf and turf since they are stir-fried with lots of onions, jalapeños and what seemed to be small ground pork/beef chunks.

I had to pour the sauce from the egg rolls onto this just to get a little taste in it. The service was young kids who didnt seem to care much about their customers. Maybe its management or just a vibe I dont know, but we had to go back once or twice to them for putting down our order cause they left our table too early when we were still ordering. And to top it all off, a baby cockroach was on the wall just staring at us. Do not go here unless you are getting a lobster dish as I would hope that a place called drunken lobster can at least get that right.

Michael, the owner, greeted us and took care of us! We started with the Jumbo Crab Fingers which were really good - I'm honestly not huge on seafood, so I enjoyed these a lot more than I thought I would. Ironically, I'm not big on oysters either, so I ordered the Jumbo Golden Fried Shrimp which hit the spot real good. Large shrimp, well fried, flavored, and the tartar sauce was addicting. The fries that came with it were perfectly seasoned, carrying a bit more of a cajun flavor rather than just regularly salted. My parents definitely enjoy oysters, so they ordered the Charbroiled Oysters and really enjoyed it, as well as the Uni Oyster with Quail Egg. They also got the Cowboy Lobster Shrimp Roll that was gone before I even took a second look their way. We finished the meal with a yummy, dense basque cheesecake! Every customer that came in during our time there was personally greeted by Michael, and it seemed like they were all repeat customers. It was really cool to see that kind of connection, and it really showed how much Michael cares about his customers, and how much we like his food! When I arrived there was nobody dining in the restaurant, that was a bit worrying, but I figured it was a bit early for the dinner crowd and late for the lunch crowd. Food & Drink - 4.5* First up was the noodles, I enjoyed them, but I wouldn't say the hype I'd heard about from some others was there. They had nice flavor, but there just wasn't anything "special." 3.5* Then it was on to the crawfish, and my oh my. Superb, the flavor is delicious and unique. This more than made up for the noodles dish. The potato and corn was good too. Service - 5* Solid. When I first arrived the owner was quietly reading a newspaper and eating his own lunch. He paused to greet me and advised that I could sit anywhere. He provided water and adequate time to determine what I wanted to order. The food came out quickly and he checked in a few times to make sure everything was ok. As time went by, the crowd of folks showing up increased quite a bit and he still managed to check in on tables consistently. Pricing - 4* This is where it was odd. Always subjective but I found the noodles to be overpriced for not only the size but what I felt was a pretty simple dish. The crawfish on the other hand was priced very competitively and made up for the overpriced noodles. I provided pics of the menu for someone to make their own assessment but in general I thought many of the dishes were pricier than they probably should be. I know inflation is certainly killing many businesses and consumers but even these felt a bit off. Overall - 4.5* This is definitely going to be one of my go tos for crawfish when in the area. The flavor is fantastic, the pricing is good, the size of them were solid. There are a couple of other dishes I may try on the next visit. The restaurant is clean, the owner is very nice, and it's a nice low key space to just enjoy a good meal with friends or family.

After securing a table after 20-25min (can be tough especially on a busy Saturday night), our first batch of crawfish arrived within 30min because it was the 13 spice Chinese style which I'm guessing isn't as popular.. the House Cajun (garlic butter) one was probably the most ordered and we didn't get that batch for almost like an hour in! Saw a table in front of us just got and left due to the long wait-time. Thankfully we ordered that first batch to hold us over so there were no complaints. When the food eventually arrived it was awesome. Good flavors of the crawfish (we got the medium spice which was perfect) with all the fixings in the boil.. i was a big fan of the corn/shrimps/mussels as well as sides like hushpuppies and quail eggs.. it was definitely a good value and one can easily overeat here (we definitely did) Service was great as the staff checked in on us often. Most waiters have tablets that can take orders and you get an unlimited supply of sodas/sides so those can easily fill you up. Another thing I appreciated was the music selection.. They definitely catered to their clientele in terms of picking mostly reggaeton + salsa + cumbia mixes. I loved this stuff so it was a great vibe for me personally lol I can definitely see myself come back, the AYCE option is the way to go if you can "stomach" the wait time and is okay with no crab (Personally I'm more of a fan of the crawfish/shrimp) so it was a good deal

Came here with family to celebrate Father's Day so we splurged on the Tamarind Dungeness Crab (MP was $38 at the time in Jun 2026) and it was the most memorable dish I've had in a long time. The coating on the crab is super light and was fried perfectly so that the juices were all sealed inside. Since it was fresh, the crab meat is super sweet and soft. The tamarind sauce is also SO addicting that I ate 2 bowls of rice with it. One crab was enough to feed 3 of us. Another must order dish is their snow pea leaves. I don't know why but it tastes 10x better than when I make it at home myself. Skip the chef's special chicken - the sauce doesn't contain the green onions, only the ginger, making it not as fragrant and missing the mark on this iconic HK dish.

Service was good, better than most places I've been in the Chinatown area. They seemed attentive and responsive and even refilled my water before I had to ask. They did have high chairs for small toddlers but no child's menu, FYI, for those visiting with kids. Here's what we ordered: Snow pea leaves (8/10) - good vegetable dish to balance out the seafood. Soft and sautéed well to make it a solid side dish. Clams in Black Bean Sauce (7/10) - another good dish we had as a starter/side. Flavorful and the clams were just the right texture. Black pepper lobster (10/10) - the star of the show. Loved this dish. Seasoned and cooked perfectly. So flavorful and delicious. Would highly recommend this dish. Fried fish (8/10) and fried tofu (7/10) - solid dish. Came out fresh and hot and fish was fried perfectly with a nice crisp bite. Tofu was also cooked well but I think I enjoyed the fried fish just a bit better. Peking Duck - (9/10) - another signature dish, in my opinion. Duck was cooked great with a nice crispy skin and perfectly steamed baos. Another dish I would highly recommend. Overall, good visit with great food and good service!
