Happy hour at lotus with friends. It was Good Friday so it was a full house. We had seats reserved so we just had to stand in line to order food. I ordered the lemon pepper wings and crawfish and shrimp fried rice. I had beer so nothing to report there. The wings were good, juicy and plentiful. The crab and shrimp rice left a lot to be desired. The shrimp and crawfish were barely visible. I tasted the loud box shrimp and rice, will get that next time and the Lotus sauce. The shrimp baked potato looked appetizing too. My friends had drinks and they enjoyed them. Food came out on a good time and we enjoyed ourselves. Their restroom went out of order right before we were about to leave. They were fixing it when we left. Nice place to hang out. I will go back.

Top-fully loaded loud pack Bottom-hotbox

Great food, full of flavor and pretty good value. I usually get the fully loaded loud pack and my wife gets the hot box. Her only complaint is that sometimes her crab cluster will be missing a leg... Oh well, things happen.

Daiquiri- Where's the liquor? Lol

I frequent the lotus on Veterans Memorial mostly, as it's closer to my house. I've heard so many great things about the Stafford location and since I was in the area, I decided to give it a try. Needless to say I will stick with my veterans memorial location, while Stafford has the bells and whistles of a nice, updated area inside, it's nothing like the customer service at veterans and the food and flavors at veterans. Maybe I am a little bias. Lol. Portions on my loud pack felt like I was most definitely missing some items. The food was hot and fresh, just missing my veterans memorial flavors. Yes at Stafford, you get daiquiris which I thought did not have any alcohol in them and mixed drinks. I felt as if I was having a slushy, and not the one from sonic. The mixed drinks might be good, but I didn't try those so I can't speak on them. It is counter service and you clean your own tables, granted the person before you clean up behind themselves. If you're in the area, I suggest you give it a try otherwise I would not make a commute just to go here. It's pretty basic to say the least.

The gumbo with rice and cerery no sausages even in the replacement serving

I have been eating gumbo at this Lotus location almost every month. I eat at the other location at 2 to 3 times a week with the same gumbo order. This is the very first time I order 3 gumbo to eat in at the restaurant. There were no sausages in any of the servings three big shrimp and a whole lot of juice with big pieces of cerery with rice. I spoke with the manager and even showed her that it was rice and cerery in all 3 bowls. She explained that everything was mixed together and they can't control what get scoop out. They did replace the gumbo with rice on the side and the very same thing no sausages alot of juice with celery. I am very disappointed because I brag about this place to many people but never again. Or maybe not just this location

On this visit, I more so came for family time as I was still full from my massive lunch. However, lol, it is hard to go to Lotus and not get anything, so I got corn on the cob, sausage, and a daiquiri which was just what my taste buds and appetite needed. The sausage and corn was of course flavorful and my daiquiri blend was great. The good thing about Lotus' daiquiri's is that you get to sample your desired blends (as many as needed) until you have your desired combination. Simply put, I just do not think you can go wrong with Lotus. Forever a fan!

Baked potato with shrimp

Love Lotus!! :) Been coming for a while now and most recently this past weekend. This time I tried the baked potato with fried shrimp and it was delicious! Previously I've had the shrimp alfredo pasta and the loud pack which are both amazing! Good food, good service!

Pease was super nice and smiling taking my order. This place is a gem. Shrimp dinner for $9! Wish they had outside seating because a little chilly and noisy. Note: bring scissors or they have some to cut open tarter sauce packets! And paper towels on table tear badly Still love this place

BEST FLAVORING HANDS DOWN! Food: I had the hot pot. Only because bugs are out of season. Oh man. The sauce was amazing, the boil was just right on peel for shrimp and crab. Then the owner kindly gave me some crack sauce. I know why they call it crack sauce now. By the end of dinner I was sucking it out of a bag trying to get my fix. Ambiance: It's just right for what it is. It's clean, and it smells like delicious seafood boil. Nothing too fancy. Service: The gentleman who helped me at the bar was the kindest (unfortunately I caught him right at his break). other than that, this maybe could use a slight pep in its step. If you ask, they most kindly respond! It might have been a weird hour since I was at the bar alone, so I won't dock any points here. The owner himself made up for any lack there! I'll 100% make this drive back during crawfish season

This place is always amazing whenever me and my wife visit! My top choice is the Cajon pasta and hers is the loud pack! Would definitely recommend to seafood lovers!

A MUST!!!!! This place is amazing the food is delicious and the service is so inviting i realky enjoyed it....very busy environment but definitely worth the sit down....My family and I ordered the FULLY LOADED LOUD PACK (spicy) which was Shrimp (large), corn, sausage, potatoes && boiled eggs over a bed of fried crawfish and shrimp rice with a side of CRACK SAUCE as they call it! So if you're in town or on this side of town stop by and try them and leave your review ;) I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!!! THANKS LOTUS FOR HAVING US see you all again soon

Good solid seafood with a cool low key vibe. Haven't tried other locations but this location have plenty parking spots available. I appreciate the ease of parking. I love they have happy hour during the week. They have boil or fried seafood options with a full bar. You order your food at the counter and they bring it to your table. We usually get the boiled shrimp pack that comes with 1 corn and 1 potato. Portions are hefty with plenty leftover. This time we tried the boiled crawfish which were a little hard and I've had better to be honest. Wouldn't get the crawfish again. But the wings are delicious! My favorite go to place for boiled shrimp and or wings. The Louisiana remix and Louisiana rub flavors are my favorites for the wings. I could see ordering a 10 piece with fried rice and being completely content. Overall for 2; we spent about $60 with the tip. Next time I'll try the fried rice!

I ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo costing $5.25 for a cup to start. Following that was my entree of the stuffed snapper for $16. The cup of gumbo had large pieces of chicken, sausage and veggies in it. I thought it tasted good (3.5) and had it been a bowl of it could have made for a meal by itself. The snapper fillet had shrimp, crawfish and mushrooms bathed in a wine sauce and came with dirty rice and some sautéed vegetables. This plate was good tasting too (3.5). I am giving a 4 score here because while the food didn't wow me it was definitely acceptable and the menu prices are at 2010 levels making everything very, very affordable. I would be happy to return.

I haven't been here for 15yrs. when I used to dine out more (kids have a way of changing your habits). I used to think they're like a Pappadeux's without the price. They haven't changed. The gumbo was filled with large chunks of meat/seafood. The fish was soft and tender. A fork full of fish, sauce with dirty rice is a bit of heaven. Boudin was good but I expected better. The restaurant is cozy casual with Nola music in the background. Server was friendly and attentive. No my kid is bigger, I'll be back again!

Just wasn't so sure it was actually snapper as it had the texture of catfish. Not as big a fan of the Mexican shrimp cocktail as it was mostly sauce, but the shrimp were good. My husband ordered the red fish pontchartrain and I had the snapper Opelousas which has a couple small shrimp and crawfish in garlic sauce. They were both really good. I think we preferred the snapper just based on the thin fillets but the red fish was exactly how it should be. Each was like $15 and came w rice and a veggie (his was corn). We paid the extra 1.50 for garlic bread instead of regular bread and I wouldn't do that again. Only one side had butter and garlic and it wasn't very impressive. The meals and sides were very plentiful and the sauces were great. My husband also had a cup of lobster bisque and really enjoyed it. The prices are amazing! The service overall was a bit slow, if you are in a hurry just let them k ow and I bet they'd help get you in and out. Totally worth checking out!

If you're craving real Southern comfort food, Mikki's is definitely worth a visit. We stopped in on…read morea busy day, and the line was almost out the door, which is always a good sign. Even with the crowd, the line kept moving, and there was no shortage of delicious-looking options on the steam table. From fried chicken and turkey wings to baked fish, spaghetti, cabbage, green beans, mac and cheese, dressing, black-eyed peas, collard greens, candied yams, mashed potatoes, and more, it was hard to decide what to order because everything looked homemade. I ordered the turkey wing with collard greens, black-eyed peas, mashed potatoes with gravy, rice, a corn muffin, and sweet potatoes. I also grabbed a Suicide Punch, which is a mix of all their Kool-Aid flavors. First, let's talk about those sweet potatoes... BABY!! They absolutely stole the show. They were piping hot, buttery, perfectly sweet, and hands down the best thing on my plate. I could've easily eaten another serving. The collard greens were seasoned beautifully with a rich, smoky flavor and plenty of pot liquor. They were tender without being mushy and tasted like they had been cooking all day. The black-eyed peas were creamy, well-seasoned, and comforting, while the mashed potatoes were smooth and paired perfectly with the savory gravy. The rice soaked up every bit of that gravy, and the corn muffin was soft with just the right touch of sweetness. The turkey wing itself was tender, juicy, and covered in flavorful gravy. My only surprise was that I was expecting just the wing portion, but instead I received the whole wing with the drum attached. It wasn't a big deal because it was still delicious--I just personally prefer getting only the wing. The Suicide Punch was another winner. If you grew up drinking Kool-Aid, you'll appreciate it. It's sweet, refreshing, and a fun mix of all the flavors. My family ordered several other dishes, so we got to try quite a variety. We had baked chicken, macaroni and cheese, candied yams, and black-eyed peas, and everything was generously portioned. The baked chicken was moist and well-seasoned, and the mac and cheese had that creamy, homemade taste you hope for from a soul food restaurant. My only real complaint was that some of the food was served lukewarm instead of hot, which took away from the experience a little. Soul food just hits differently when it's fresh and piping hot. Ironically, the sweet potatoes were the one item that came out nice and hot, and they were absolutely perfect. Overall, Mikki's serves authentic soul food with generous portions and flavors that remind you of Sunday dinner at a family member's house. The food is comforting, the selection is impressive, and it's easy to see why the place stays busy. If everything had been served hot, this would've easily been a five-star experience. Pro tip: Don't leave without getting the sweet potatoes and a Suicide Punch. Trust me--you'll thank me later. sweet potatoes and a Suicide Punch free refills. Trust me--you'll thank me later.
