I heard good reviews about this place so I wanted to try it out but it was okay. I was expecting a lot of garlic since the crajun flavor is supposed to be garlic butter + cajun, but it wasn't giving. The fries were good though. The service and ambiance were nice as well, I was just expecting more from the crawfish.
The restaurant has pretty laid back atmosphere, no ftills interior. They say crawfish is $10.99 but that's for basic crawfish, if you add flavor it's $11.99 per lbs. The crawfish were live and fresh but pretty small which was disappointing since it's mid March and still good crawfish season. They did not have snow crabs, at that moment, which was a let down. So I did crawfish and clams. Crawfish thai mild was good, heat in the beginning with sweet after taste. Crawfish krajun mild was bad. The sauce was too watery and had fishy flavor, I ended up pouring the left over thai juices over it. Clams mix flavor, mild was too spicy, definitely did not taste mild. My lips were burning and the heat over powered any flavor. Too garlicy. Overall not impressed.
My aunt invited me to a crawfish boil event. I can't say no to free food even in the midst of finals. We all got a ticket for a free pound of crawfish and a drink. They gave us a choice of garlic butter or Thai basil, I decided to get garlic butter with mild spice. The bowl also comes with a piece of corn and sausage. Even though my crawfish was only mild spice, it was still decently spicy to me. The crawfish were decently sized, my only complaint was that I didn't really have any sauce to dip it in. The restaurant also gave us a large tray of fried rice and wings. The wings came in 3 separate flavors: sweet chili, garlic butter, and fish sauce. I enjoyed both the fried rice and wings a lot, and there was plenty left for leftovers. Later the dentists at my table decided to order some beignets, with some condensed milk. The beignets were warm and airy and the condensed milk added some sweetness.
We definitely needed to take advantage of this place while crawfish is still in season. You really can't go wrong with a place that has both viet-style crawfish and fresh beignets! We got some calamari for the table. Some pieces were light and crispy, while others were a little soggy. I'd probably save your wallet and stomach and order something else. The crab fried rice was pretty good. It took it to a whole new level if you mixed some of the sauce your crawfish comes in with it. I got crawfish with the Thai flavor in mild. Even though I'm a little wimpy when it comes to spice, I probably should've ordered a medium spice level. The crawfish came in piping hot in the bowl. The Thai sauce was good but I probably should've mixed it with garlic butter, there was a flavor it was missing. In some ways, it almost tasted like it was in a tomato juice. The garlic probably would've enhanced the flavor. The staff were very nice and consistently checked on us. We ended the meal with the beignets. They were so fresh, light and fluffy, a great way to end the meal. While I wasn't super impressed with this place, I'll also chalk it up to maybe I didn't order the correct combination of flavors. Now that I've tried this place, I'll go back and see if changing things up makes a difference.
This is my 4th time dining in at this spot & I'll say each time I was here it was just decent enough for me to return. Today we came as a big group for a UYE (unofficial yelp event). When there is an event that involves seafood you know I'm there. I had a great time with everyone but my experience with the service was just subpar. Here's what I ordered. * Thai Crawfish & Snow crab- I liked the flavors, it was a combination of sweetness/citrusy. I did ask for it to be spicy but it wasn't, it was more mild. 3/5 * Beignets- very good. It came out hot & fresh. It was fluffy & soft on the inside. It paired well with the condensed milk. It wasn't too sweet which is perfect. 4/5 There were a few things that I didn't like about my dining experience. Here are the lists, 1. Although our server was nice he did seem annoyed at times. I also had to ask for water 3 times before getting it. 2. Considering this is the end of March (which means it's the peak season) the crawfish was small. I've been to other location & at this time the sizes are about medium/medium large. 3. Some of the crawfish was not purged correctly & was not clean. 4. My friend ordered a po boy and never got it, the server pretty much was like oh well it's too late to make it. 5. I don't like the fact that they add another $1 if you want to combine all three sauces together, definition of nickel & dime. Overall, the food was good enough for me to come back but it's a bit overpriced. The service was pretty lackluster considering it wasn't that busy. The crawfish is so small that it's not worth 9.99 a pound. My total came out to be $71 with gratuity, which I can't really complain since seafood is expensive but I don't think I got my moneys worth. Will I come back? Yes, hopefully next time the sizes are bigger since we are approaching April.

Had another visit as I wanted their Thai Citrus flavored crawfish. A year after my last review, the food quality is still the same to me, as in it's still good. I got just a pound of crawfish and 1 snow crab cluster in Thai Citrus medium, with some beignets. I definitely enjoyed my meal and was happy the food quality didn't deteriorate. The scissors were a great help too. I did remove 1 star based off a few things that affected my experience. I did order 2 corns with my food, but I did not receive them. Although I wanted the corn, I could tell that I was getting full with my seafood. So I asked them to remove the corn from my ticket vs bringing it later. When the ticket came it was still on there so I asked them to correct it and they did. The other thing was that when I came in I waited for a host to seat me. One guy came from the back and tried to talk to me as he was walking across the room asking for how many. I wasn't about to yell back across the room so I walked over towards him. Then I waited a good 5 minutes before someone finally came over to take my order. They seemed a bit overwhelmed so I really let it all go but I hope they can improve on it. The last thing was I was sitting directly under the speaker and it was blasting explicit music with all kinds of profanity & sexual gestures. I guess it was background music for them but it sounded like I was in a club downtown and not at a family friendly restaurant. It did make me uncomfortable and I did ask if they ever change the music because I noticed that I did mention the music on my last review but this was too inappropriate to me. The guy said they do and that he just plays the radio & he changed it to a different station. A Top 40 station would have been more fitting in my opinion. But nonetheless i'm just glad the food was still decent.
Glad I was able to try it with alot of fellow Yelpers at an unofficial gathering. Got the Crawfish N Shrimp mix, the bucket seems to be the popular option among the group. Some positives: Great flavors, garlic butter + Cajun was a great mix and love the spices. The parking was fairly convenient inside a large shopping center space in Chinatown. I like the 2 sinks in the dining room you can wash your hands without waiting for the bathroom. I wanted to try some other things on the menu but we did had to wait a long time for service and had to cancel some dishes that we waited 30+ minutes for. But it was a large group spread over 3-4 tables so I can understand. Would come back and try some other plates. In terms of value, a little pricey at $10.99/lb compared to some of the other places in town.
Fresh crawfish and delicious food, casual dining experience. Upon arrival for lunch, staff welcomed us we were told to sit anywhere we want. The menu can be accessed via QR code. What we ordered 3lbs of krajun crawfish - fresh and delicious. Calamari - these were fresh and light, not over done with breading which I appreciated. My favorite was the Beignets - they were fresh and served hot with condensed milk on the side. The Beignets were fluffy and perfect with condensed milk. Great way to finish a meal - there's two sinks in the dining room, so no needs to wait for the bathroom when you need to wash your hands. :)
Place is pretty chill. Easy to order, nothing too fancy. 1lb crawfish (a bit small but its not in season), 1 sausage, 2 potatoes, 1lb green mussel, 1 oyster nachos for all about $55. Sauce flavor is pretty good though the spicy krajun is hella toooo spicy! Beware! haha Thai flavor isnt as good but gives a slightly different experience than the spicy garlic butter/krajun style. I would strongly suggest getting both as you can take a break from one dish to another. Don't let the oyster nacho picture fool you. Despite looking like its lacking portions, its actually quite sizeable! :D I'd come back.
I can't tell you how long I've been waiting to try this place. It's definitely a well known crawfish joint here in Houston. A 4 star bc their crawfish were super small and more expensive than what I am used to. 10.99 a lb! HOWEVER, a great flavor. High quality, flavorful crawfish that you can't just get anywhere. Maybe I bit the bullet too soon on going out for crawfish. I have been hearing so many different things about how crawfish season has already started yet the crawfish places I have been to, I have been pretty let down as far as price and size. Think I'll wait it out a bit more. Overall, a great crawfish joint that I am happy to have visited here in my city!
So far, been here twice and I love it. It has a casual vibe, plenty of parking and good service. The Fried Oyster po'boy is my go-to and the fries are crispy and fresh. You will notice a hint of sugar flavor on the fries though, and my guess is because they make beignets here too!
After grabbing some boba, a firefighter told us that the Beignets at this joint was amazing, so we had to stop by and get some. We got 3 orders that come with 3 beignets in one. They were delicious. Perfect amount of powdered sugar, warm, and clearly freshly done. This place is unique because I've never had condense milk to dip the beignets in, but that definitely added a sweet touch! Definitely want to come check out the crawfish!

If you want the best crawfish in Houston you have to have to go to Chinatown period! The city has plenty of standard Cajun style crawfish boils but the Viet-Cajun fusion takes the flavor and spice to a whole new level. We ordered 2 lbs each of the spicy Thai crawfish and krajun crawfish with some garlic shrimp. For apps we got their excellent fried oyster nachos and a few orders of their pillowy freshly fried beignets. The crawfish were large since we went peak season and the flavor and heat were perfectly balanced. Service was also timely and friendly. If you want an elevated crawfish experience with some great viet fusion sides and some of the best beignets you'll have in the gulf coast this is your spot. read more
My list of places to try throughout my time here so far has grown so large that I'm starting to think I'll never get through it. Crawfish & Beignets was one such place, with a prominent presence in Chinatown with the support of the local community. They were among the highest on my list for a long while, but the subsequent deflating of the experience meant it was memorable for the wrong reasons. There were various things to made it more of a letdown, which included very slow service with a side of saltiness (#1) some 'tude, and a side of overpriced dishes. The latter was fueled by foodflation, but when coupled with the food blandness (#1), it becomes the worst kind of double whammy. My bowl 3 Ibs of mixed crawfish with crab legs and shrimp were a solid portion but the Cajun (mix) seasoning wasn't there. Even the extras of the potatoes and corn were bland, which prompted me to ask for additional seasoning and some spice. Ultimately, it wasn't worth the 45 minute wait. I also shared a number of appetizers with my group, which included beignets (fluffy, airy), fried rice (salty), boudin egg rolls (surprisingly tasty), calamari (so-so), and oyster nachos (best appetizer). It was all much more appealing than the crawfish that I subsequently had. One thing I'll always remember is the words etched along their wall in an attempt to be cute: "Peel me. Suck me. Pinch me. Repeat." I'm all for all of those things, but not here. This isn't because I wouldn't want to give them another chance, but because they're now closed. All the peeling, sucky, and pinching will have to be somewhere else. __________ (#1) Surprisingly, not from the food. read more

I been craving crawfish so I decided to give this place a try. Remember you we in the late summer months, so when I called I was surprised they still were serving crawfish.I asked for the Cajun style with no sauce, I'm from Louisiana we don't put all that sauce on our crawfish. Overall the taste was good but I couldn't really enjoy them due to the size being so small. As for as the shrimps, They were a good size however, most were overcook. I also ordered the shrimp fried rice and fried catfish for my children, which they really enjoyed. My hostess/waiter was very friendly and tentative. I will try them again next year for crawfish season and maybe try again before crawfish season and try the crab legs, which were sold out when we arrived . The beignets were to die for, we ordered two servings. It's a must have!!! read more

Service is always fast and polite! I ordered 3lbs of the Krajun (spicy) crawfish and 1lb of the Krajun mussels. I love how the crawfish always stays hot. Just wished the sauce was thicker so it sticks to the seafood. The beignets are always a 10/10. read more

Finally checked this spot out after watching it on Instagram. We checked out way too much. We started with Cajun edamame which had a great kick. I really enjoyed it. Maybe a little something Missing. The Krajun crawfish and shrimp was good. I liked the medium spice garlic one better personally. I didn't get a photo but the fried rice came in the cutest mini wok. It could have used a bit more sauce but I liked it. The servers were very helpful even when some random lady spilt a water on our table with her stroller. Overall the space was my biggest downfall of the experience. Everyone was on top of each other and some tables brought strollers which made it hard. Also placement of high chairs in the walkway instead of at a side table could have helped part of folks issues. I'd recommend going back again. The beignets for dessert were the perfect touch. read more

Came here with a group of my foodie friends for some crawfish. It was also a great opportunity to explore some new spots to me in Chinatown. C&B is located in a spacious shopping center with plentiful parking. The restaurant was pretty empty when I arrived but had a steady flow of traffic after. Customer service was excellent and speedy. I got an adult beverage to start which was nice and cold and a great addition to the rich food. I wasn't feeling crawfish as a main course so I went with lemon pepper wings and crab fried rice. The wings were piping hot and very flavorful. The crab fried rice was very delicious. I shared with my amigos and they really liked it as well. The crab came in large chunks and they were very generous with it as well. They added this little dollop of roe on top to give it this little umami burst. Excellent! I was a little on the full side but had to get the beignets because duh, it's in the name of the place. It took awhile to arrive but when they did you could feel the heat coming off of it. Let it cool down a tad before you dive it. I tried a bite as they came. It was good. I then added the condensed milk and honey they give on the side and that took it up a bunch of notches. They don't beat New Orleans beignets, but they were pretty darn close. It reminded me more of a sopapilla though. I would definitely come back! read more

Update: BEIGNETS NOW SERVED DAILY!! When they first opened it was weekends only but now you can get it daily! I actually do like the beignets. It is not the best ever but it is definitely pretty good to crave and want. With this location, I love how spacious and clean it is. With the hand washing station in the back, love it! Don't have to go wait in line for the restroom if I want to just wash my hands. They also provide bibs and gloves complimentary. I like that I can come here during lunch hours to eat crawfish since the other crawfish joints mostly open for dinner service only. Flavors... My favorite go-to is now Krajun and Thai Citrus. The Krajun is off menu, the sauce is sautéed garlic butter, green onions, and white onions.Krajun is pretty addicting and a good blend of spices and flavor profile. Thai Citrus by itself Is a tad too sweet for my taste. But it is very addicting and therefore I go back and forth between Krajun and Thai citrus to balance each other. I also like the gumbo here! It's a good flavor and thick consistency. I like that it's not too bitter like some gumbo from the dark roux. read more

Saw this place on Instagram and had to come try it out. Walked in was not greeted, sat at a booth but it was dirty. I asked the worker if I could have something to clean off but he suggested that we just move tables, ok cool. We ordered the kiwi-Rita which was actually pretty good not too strong, good sweetness. Next we ordered the crawfish (Thai) 10/10 and also tried the Krajun style which was also a 10/10. The crawfish had really good flavor and they were a really good size. We had to order some beignets because it's in the name ... the beignets were so light and fluffy and it came with this white caramel sauce, they were super good! Overall service could be better but the food will not disappoint! read more
With crawfish season half way here, they are serving mixed sizes but the flavour profile is amazing. We tried both their garlic butter, and special flavours and were not disappointed. It's a bit pricey now over here: $10/lb. Also, the service can be improved upon. Both times we went, the place was extremely busy. On once occasion we had an extremely attentive server, and the second time they completely forgot to get us gloves, and bibs or a bucket to put the shells in. Then barely came by to check in on us unless we flagged them. They do not serve any mixed drinks either. They have tea/soda/a few beers for drink selection. read more

Crawfish and Beignets is this restaurant's specialty as the title suggests, however I am not the one that eats crawfish so my rating is on the fried catfish plate that I got. I have heard of great things about their crawfish, the flavors etc, so perhaps its still a great place to have it. I ordered the fried catfish meal, which consisted of 2 filets and French fries, accompanied with a toast and condiments. The Fish was ok. It was thoroughly coated with batter, and hence why it came out so crispy. I did not care too much for the flavor, as it tasted pretty bland to me. There was no seasoning in the batter. It just tasted like plain cornmeal batter. The French fries were ok too but rather small in quantity. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area that specialize in fried seafood, so I will look into other options. At the end of the meal, we did have the beignets that came pretty warm and right off the grill with that sugar coating drizzle stuff (condensed milk syrup frosting). Went here today and the food was alright. I've been here plenty of times because it's my favorite crawfish place, but the garlic butter + krajun flavor wasn't the same. Before the mild would be a good spice, but this time it wasn't spicy at all. I saw a lot of the other customers with big crawfish, but we had a lot of little crawfish. We normally go to CB a lot during crawfish season because I find it to be one of the best crawfish place, but i don't know about this season. read more
I loved Crawfish & Beignets! My visit to Houston was extremely short this time around, but I'm glad I had the time to fit in one crawfish meal. I am SO happy that they did not disappoint when I was looking for the perfect Cajun fusion flavors. I was short on time to get to the airport, so I only ordered 3 lbs of the crasian (?) krajun (?) --- I'm not sure of the name. I was starving, and I needed sustenance. Crawfish was fresh, and I usually take forever eating my crawfish, but it stayed warm until the last crawfish. I was both amazed and tempted to guzzle down the remainder of the warm, magical sauce left in my bowl. I only wish I had more time in htown to enjoy more. My fiancé ordered the catfish platter. Honestly, the fried catfish didn't hit the spot at all. I think they could do better on the batter as it was bland and lacked that crunch that we were looking for. The iced Vietnamese coffee was a life saver for my horrendous hangover and our waters were always refilled. Waiters were all very kind and checked on us often. I ordered the oyster nachos, but sadly they don't have oysters right now since it's almost summer, but I definitely cannot wait to come back to try more items! read more
This is their new location and I'm glad they're back. It's in the same plaza as Vinh Hoa. Spacious plaza with plenty of parking and tables. It does get crowded throughout the day since it's in season. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, checking in on us very often. They even helped me put on my bib after I already started eating. Many great choices on the menu. We tried all the best flavors from garlic butter to lemon pepper. Although all were good, my favorite was the thai citrus. The seasoning was amazing with a sweet and spicy taste. After the crawfish, you should check out their beignets. We love it so much that we got three orders. Be careful because it's super hot. You have a choice of condensed milk or honey to go with the beignets. I would highly recommend the condensed milk over the honey since the honey was a bit too sweet on the beignets. Condensed milk was the perfect balance. A great place to put on your crawfish hit-list. read more

During the Mudbug months, they have to get it in when you can. Giggity. We came out here for an unofficial event hosted by James. It was the perfect day to come out, it wasn't too busy and the weather was good. Really pretty solid group of about 11 folks. For me the food came out quickly without issue. I had very good service. I know one of our group who was there before me didn't get their food till much later, well unfortunate it does happen from time to time. The only issue that I had, is that for a certain flavor I had to pay an extra dollar per pound for crawfish. So I ended up spending $9.99 per pound from my Mudbugs. That's a bit steep, even though the flavor was good I can't say that it's worth an extra dollar per pound of crawfish. We had Beignets for dessert. They did take a little bit to come out, but they were fresh. You could tell because they burned your fingers. They came with a cup of syrup or as Alex L. calls it that "drizzle shit." Quite tasty though. Overall an excellent place, just a little pricey on the Mudbugs. Especially when you can go other places for $6.99 and sometimes less. read more
I've been here twice now and have had great experiences both times! I'd been wanting to come to a seafood boil restaurant for a while and had walked by crawfish and beignets a handful of times when going to the restaurants next to it. I finally had the chance to try it with my family and both times we got the crawfish, shrimp, and beignets as well as potato, corn, sausage sides. I had gotten the crawfish and shrimp in both the Cajun and I believe the Thai Spice marinade. Both sauces were great but I do prefer the Thai Spice since it's more saucy while the Cajun marinade is dry. All the seafood tasted fresh and juicy. The beignets with condensed milk are also amazing!! Crisp, flakey, and not too sweet and goes great with the milk. The first time I came here however, it did take almost 30 mins+ for the beignets to come out after we had finished our crawfish/shrimp despite ordering it in the beginning of our meal so I think the wait can be a little long when the restaurant is quite busy. That being said, the waiters are all very nice and I can't wait to come back again! read more
