Am I suppose to be impressed? Unfortunately, I was not. Crawfish is a lot bigger and better than what I'm used to up in Northeast but the shrimp was ehh. We got their medium spice special sauce and medium spice Cajun. Their house special sauce was missing something but I'm glad they added lemon (there's no lemon in Vietnam but pretty sure I taste lemon and not lime slices). Cajun sauce is just Cajun sauce. Sweet potato fries are crispy yet soft and not salty. Oysters not as fresh as I would like it but not too bad. They close right on time so make sure you finish eating at least five minutes prior to closing. Overall experience: if I'm craving for boiled seafood then I'll come here but honestly not one of the best I've had in boiled seafood restaurant. Prices seem decent. Not crazy expensive but not cheap either. They have a good amount of selections but not good enough for boiled seafood in my opinion. My friends and I stopped by last night for a crawfish craving and we were seated immediately even though the place was fairly packed. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly throughout the night. Also random thing is their plastic gloves are awesome; they didn't rip and protected my fingers throughout my entire meal. L's review about their weighing process because my 3 pounds also looked a little light and I didn't reach my limit after those 3 pounds..my bf and I later ordered another 3 pounds to share before I finally got full. I got the garlic butter, which is always my go-to anywhere, medium spicy with corn added on. The medium spicy is not spicy at all so this is definitely for those who have a low spice tolerance. They go from mild, medium, spicy, extra spicy. But they are willing to add more spicy if you need. My bf got 1 pound spicy and it was like medium spicy according to his scale. We also got the salt and pepper soft shell crab that came with sweet chili sauce, and it was yummy! Not too salty, which I appreciated. My other friends got gumbo and garlic bread, which they really enjoyed, and curly fries, which were pretty good too. Overall, the crawfish were pretty big for $7.99 but definitely felt like the weighing was a little iffy. Whoever they have answering the phone at 8:51 on Monday evening should find a new profession because clearly customer service isn't her strong point. I called in to ask a question about the menu before placing an order and she was beyond rude and at some point some would probably even say downright disrespectful. When I politely tried to advise her about her tone and demeanor, she became argumentative and defensive before hanging up in my face. As someone very close to the restaurant industry, I'm aware that many places have altered or adjusted their menu due to inventory limitations surrounding covid. So I wanted to be sure before I placed my takeaway order. I don't think answering a question pertaining to the menu should have been that exhausting (on either end) I was excited to try this place but due to the less than outstanding customer service I received on the phone, I'll pass. It is also a sports bar, but on a Sunday like Labor Day this place wasn't too hopping which was decent. The bartender girl, Kat was friendly and very attentive. She kept on making sure we were taking care of. She was great. The other workers mostly females were on their phones majority of the time; Kat was the only one that seemed to have some sense as it came to working hard. The catfish combo with shrimp was good and tasty. The garlic bread tasted like a giant pillow of butter laying in my mouth..it was delicious. I didn't like the taste of the wings as I am not a chicken person. If you are looking for this place you will have to drive about forever just to get here. This is their second location. The original location is on Wilcrest at Bellaire. In the summer of 2014 they had their grand opening here complete with an original dragon dance performance. Crawfish were on special for $4.99 to promote the business. Fast forward to today. This place is still my favorite. The food is always fresh, well seasoned and delicious. The Dungeness crab is always cooked to perfection. The shrimp fried rice is cooked with real shrimp. Not those little salad shrimp that everybody else use. The fried seafood platter, which consists of catfish, shrimp, oysters, french fries and garlic bread, is absolutely delicious. The main course, boiled crawfish, is the best I've had. I love their spicy, garlic butter seasoning. I have not found this taste anywhere else in Houston, and I've eaten crawfish all over town. I went here with my best friend and it was our first time here, so we had no expectations. This was probably one of my most unpleasant dining experiences thus far. First impression: The interior is worn-down and feels unsanitary. The only good thing is how spacious it is. It is not a good place for first dates but perhaps families could enjoy it here. We came in through the door and the waitresses and everyone behind the counter saw us, but did not greet or say anything to us. We stood there for 5 minutes before asking them, "do we just sit anywhere?" Which they replied yes. Once we sat down, we didn't get any drinks or menus. I watched as the waitresses took the orders from every other table before us, despite the fact that we sat down first and were here longer. I couldn't even give them the benefit of the doubt that it was busy because it wasn't. I counted close to 6 other tables (1 family of 5 and the rest with only 2 people) while 3 waitresses and a host were working the floor. After another 15 minutes, the host decides to take our order and noticed we didn't have menus and were trying to order from the top of our head. 1lb costed around $7.99 during this time. 10 minutes later, our 3lb of garlic-seasoned crawfish came out. It did not taste fresh. It was as if they thawed it and cooked it for us. A huge portion of the crawfish had soft shells. The meat for these were over-tenderized to the point where they had a mush-like texture. Some even tasted like car tires, overwhelming the savory garlic aroma. It was unappetizing and disgusting (I hate saying this word btw, I'm being very honest here). I thought I was just being biased from the bad service. So, I checked with my friend. She agreed and was also dissatisfied by the overall experience. We regretted coming here. There are better crawfish places on Bellaire, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Finally got my fix of crawfish in last night here at Wild Cajun . Between me and 3 other people, we got 10lbs of crawfish, 5lbs mild 5lbs spicy, 2 orders of sausage and potatoes, two orders of fried gator, and some drinks. The crawfish was awesomely big!!! I loved the spicy, but the girls thought it was too much for them, but again I loved the flavor and the baby heat it brought. Sausage and potatoes were of course an always welcomed side item, and they definitely did not disappoint. Everything came out very hot, and tasted great. The reason for the three stars is because the service was pretty dang slow. The drinks (including water) took forever to come, and when we finally flagged down the waitress to ask if we were ever going to get any, she said yes but that there was some sort of issue with the cashier? Not sure how that impacts me getting my water, but okay. It was just a reallllly long wait for just about everything and they weren't too busy in my opinion. The crawfish at Wild Cajun are different than at other spots, because their crawfish have a garlic seasoning that has a drier texture than a "saucy" one. The seasoning has lots of garlic, lemongrass, and I think onion. Very flavorful. If you like crawfish that is tasty but isn't overly spicy, this is the place for you. I got my crawfish medium heat, and they weren't spicy at all. Hot were a lot spicier. The staff was very friendly. They have a full bar. The only negative I have is that I think they may weigh the crawfish post-seasoning, so I don't know if you really get a true pound of just crawfish.
