What is not to like about here? It's a neighborhood bar where you have a variety of people coming in and enjoying the brew and atmosphere. During crawfish season on Sunday's you can enjoy their $20 all you can eat so the next time around you'll want to bookmark this place and try it. It's a little dark in here but enough lighting to see who you might bump into, the people are friendly, the staff and owners are friendlier and the prices on the drinks are friendlinest. Parking shouldn't be a problem here even though it shares a parking lot with multiple businesses, least I've never had a problem on the Sundays I've visited. I have been here in the afternoons and have enjoyed myself after a long and stressful day for happy hour; but, I have never experienced the bartender/ staff being prejudiced... she's husky with bleached blond hair (grown out roots). She was friendly to the white regulars (accepting and taking shots with them)..... - I came tonight not expecting to be treated like garbage.. the thick bodied bleach blonde (whom I described above -- don't confuse her with the skinny brunette who is actually over exerting herself to make up for her drunk co worker).. [what will TABC think?]). This woman was exceptionally racist and was very judgmental against brown and black patrons... she over served the white guests (men) right NEXT to me on my right hand side **even after last call; which she denied me for.** The white men got served beers and shots but I couldn't because of "last call"; when I called her our her about her racial preference.. she became hostile and shunned me to the point where she got her "dj"/ want to be "bar back"/ "security guard" to snatch my beer away from me that I had just paid for not even 1 (literally- 1 minute) prior.. -cool man- you're following orders but being unnecessarily aggressive only makes you a "baby boy" **you know what I mean**.. She continued to serve all the white and drunk WHITE men after she denied myself and my friends; (did she think we wouldn't tip, orrr...?) She didn't deserve any tip for being rude and discriminatory but I was conscious enough to understand the environment that we were in and figured that the staff might splits tips at the end of the shift... (the young skinny brunette woman who was a sweet heart... she deserves accolades for being a good steward.) If you are a minority and you find yourself making contact with this woman or this establishment.. I recommend you RUN. You and I (We) are not welcome... 2022 but stuck in 1925... terrible and disappointing in such a melting pot of a City like Houston ... Went for karaoke, the evening on a Tuesday is very socially inviting. Had a blast and prices are competitive

Went to jumps tonight and man it was a lot of fun. Dj/Songologist David (he volunteered his name) is cool as hell and the bartenders seem cool af. Let's get to what happened and the review score. So me and the wife do a yelp search for live music and what pops up? Karaoke bars. Needless to say I avoided all the Asian bars (I'm black) and looked for something more American. Looking at the reviews I settled for Jumps. It's down the street, literally one turn away so why not? Get there and as basic as it looks on the outside it's plenty of fun to be had on the inside. Had never sang karaoke before and after seeing the courage and yolo of some earlier people (and a few drinks myself) I was ready. I went to David and he was so damn cool that I was like man I could chop it up with this dude all day. He knows what he's talking about when it comes to music, especially Houston music. Anyway I go up there and have a blast singing a Backstreet Boys song. Panda, another singer, is going ham over my song choice, the people at tables are singing along and overall it was fun af. Two long islands, southwestern egg rolls, and spinach artichoke dip in and I was feeling great. Speaking of food the southwestern egg rolls were great sober and the artichoke dip is a miss. A few drinks in and you'd swear you were at chilis eating the egg rolls and the dip was average bar food. ( all upgrades). Anyway, to end this the place is great, it's accepting as f because I saw, and I don't mean to offend anyone, clear members of the LGBTQ community singing and they got just as much applause as the straight couples. The black and Hispanic people got the cheers the white people did and one guy went as far as to sing despacito in ALL Spanish and still got an applause. He sounded awesome and the acceptance was great. So why 4 stars? Why not the illustrious 5? Nothing's perfect and I can line out a couple issues I had to keep from the wife cause she would raise hell and never be back. 1) got offered coke in the restroom. ‍ is what it is. Can't really fault the place cause people do what they want but whatever. 2) I drink long islands basically exclusively. While the bartender made a fine Long Island given the liquors available, I asked for a top shelf Long Island. I can tel you right now that on average that's about 10 dollars or less. Either way normally about 1 to 2 dollars over the original well. The waitress said it's 6.50 from the well, 16+ for top shelf..... My god. I had to ask what was in it. I basically tuned her out after grey goose. It was an average top shelf so why so expensive? 3) someone could go in there and mop that piss every once and a while in the men's restroom. If I fell in there I would request a grenade so I could pull the pin and off myself. To end this long review I will definitely be back, excellent place and damn I had a blast. read more

Jumps is a suspiciously great place for a drink with a small crowd. The karaoke is excellent and myriad and the KJ is friendly if crass. The wait-staff is largely good. The owner is often behind the bar being welcoming. A couple of the girls are clearly to be looked at more than to pour drinks but they are still very friendly and accommodating to the snobbiest of drinkers.The place is pretty big with a 'cozy' patio area. The only gripes I have is that the place feels a bit cavernous but that's mostly because it's still a neighborhood bar that hasn't gotten huge yet. I should point out that it's a neighborhood bar I drive 30 minutes out of my way to attend. read more

I came here on a Saturday night hoping for the best and expecting the worst, since I have lived in the area before several years ago and never though to go inside. Turns out, it is pretty laid back, drinks are reasonable, crowd is totally mixed and unpretentious and the music and/or karaoke is alright. It can get very loud in there. If you're in the area and are looking for a regular neighborhood bar, you should check this place out. read more

I have been customer of Jumps for 6/7 years. It's a small neighborhood bar. Bar owner n staff are super friendly. After a busy n hectic day you want to hang out n have some fun. Jumps is perfect for drinks, games or watching sports. Live karaoke tops it all. Bar owner is so great he created a special drink just for me with hot sauce since I love every food hot n spicy. It had been over 10 years since I was inside Jumps. I have to say it is a really cool place. Someone told me that they remodeled the bar since the last time I had been there. Well they did a really good job. I really like this neighborhood bar and they also serve Top Texas Craft Beer which is music to my ears. Been there a handful of times .. and every time it's always something. One time the bouncer gave me crap & got excessively loud with me just because I was taking a tad longer to finish my beer. The second time, the bartender tried to pull a fast one and over charge. When I called her on it, she got really nervous.. specially because I called out every drink we ordered. (I keep tabs) I told a few friends, and apparently they been overcharged there too! They think your not keeping tabs, so they add on.. BE AWARE! The third one, I guess they have groups that live in that bar and they get special privileges, & that's fine, no hate! But when your patrons get excessively drunk and you don't cut them off, & then they trip on other patrons because they're cool with the staff, & they feel like they can say what they want.. naw I'm good. & then y'all going to stand behind the bar like nothing and try to defend them. This is a Jem of a bar if you ever have the chance of going. Great for going with by yourself or medium to big pig groups. Plenty of space for a lot of people to be in at one time. The people inside are very kind and the deink specials are great on your pocket. Great place to either start the night off before going downtown or for a good night cap. read more

Cool and casual little spot to hang out at. I once went on a Friday and although there was a good crowd going, most seemed to be pretty young. The parking can be a pain since there isn't too many parking spaces available. Drinks r cheap tho so all the pain may be worth it. read more
