The person dining with me had the Catfish and salad with her meal. The catfish honestly looked better. From Oklahoma , the filets look like Swai, Asian catfish, I used to work for US foods and had to learn the difference. If it is real catfish that was a big fish. It only matters if you'll care as it still looks good and there isnt a flavor difference. We had Chips & Salsa with Queso. $10 Chips & Salsa add $4 for Queso. I asked for Chips & Queso assuming the salsa came with it. Still waiting for the check to see if they charged me extra. All being said, it was good, but not sure it is a solid recommend. One of my favorites is their jalapeño chicken sliders with some fried okra. It's not spicy at all, but it's so fresh and flavorful. The fried okra is not greasy either. This Christian's Tailgate location is our go to place for watching the NY Jets play football on a Sunday with the Houston Jets fans. Service is great. Love the way they decorate for Halloween too. The restrooms could definitely use some updating though, but they are decent. Parking is available in the front, side and back. read more

Christian's tailgate can be best described as your good ol' neighborhood run of the mill sports bar. Beware, since they're located on a one way street, their roadway sign is AFTER the actual entrance. So if you miss it, you got to go down the street to bust a U. Pretty aggravating since there's only one entrance. Inside, there are multiple TV's around the area, but non that garner a huge "wow" factor. The ambience shows your typical dimly lit, a little bit grunge, dive bar. There is a games area, but it almost looks haunted since they keep the lights barely on there. I've been here twice in the past week to capitalize on their happy hour specials. $3.50 domestic drafts and $2 tacos on Tuesday is definitely a pretty good deal. Unfortunately the HH drafts only include your typical and generic local beers like bud, coors, miller, michelob, Shiner, etc. Their $2 tacos actually is quite good for what you pay. With choices of shrimp, fish or beef, it comes with pico and some dressing. TBH a beer with a few tacos, at the price you pay is well worth it. Nothing too mind blowing, but good for the price you pay. I also got the 12 wings for $15 with the $1 extra for celery and carrots. The wing flavors were pretty decent and elected to get mango habanero and lemon pepper. However the wings itself were overly cooked and noticeably dry on the inside. It wasn't a big issue since they allow you to douse ranch on it, but it was pretty obvious. Came back on a Friday to do their $0.75 oysters deal. They claim its all day on their online menus, but they got some small print saying it starts at 2 pm on some banners inside the restaurant. I got there at 6 pm and they already sold out. SMH. Christian's Tailgate isn't my first place as a bar by far. But since its nearby and if I really want to watch a game, perhaps a few cheap beers just might do the trick. read more

I was told to sit where I wanted as I walked in from a waitress across the room. Picked a higher table near the bar and the chair had a short leg that made it rock. I moved to another table and the chair was good but the table was sticky. The kind of sticky like it was wiped down with a dirty towel. My waitress came and took my order and I went with wings fried okra. The food came out in decent time. However I asked for lemon pepper wings and my wings had very little seasoning. A friend of mine, mentioned it to me one day and said the food was pretty good and it was a cool environment. Our group of 8 was told to move from the table we chose to a small 4-person booth, even though there was a sign that said "Please seat yourself" and other people were sitting in the area we wanted. The staff's attitude was unwelcoming, and instead of trying to accommodate us, they made us feel like we were a problem. On top of that, it took about 20 minutes before anyone even came to our table to take an order. Great friendly servers, what looked like owners or managers always walking around helping out. The heart attack fries were splendid, may be one of the best "loaded" fries I've had. Super good. I've been to Christian's Tailgate on 3 separate occasions now and each experience has been either good or extremely great! If you're looking for a good place to hangout after work or just want to be somewhere with good food, decent prices and good music, this could be your new place! Whenever I come here, the individuals who work here are all pretty nice. I've only had one experience where I wasn't a fan of our waitress (she was very dry) but it wasn't anything to complain about. The only recommendation I would have would be to have more people during rush hour times because I remember the wait to get order drink at the bar took over 15 minutes and it wasn't even a weekend, it was during the normal after work rush. Other than that, they all seem to know the food and drink menu VERY well which is refreshing. The food is really good, considering it's bar food. I would choose this bar over many other bars just for the food itself! I've had more than their wings (I didn't take photos- oops!) and I've never not liked anything. Their wings are cooked to PERFECTION aka they have a great crisp and the buffalo sauce is very flavorful with a slight kick to it. Even their chips and salsa are good. If you're a mozzarella lover, then you'll also love their mozzarella sticks, which are cooked with that extra crisp and there's a very generous amount of cheese in them to say the least. Great cozy bar with a dive feel to it. Brought my girlfriend here and we really enjoyed the ambiance. The service was great and so was the food. We ate each of their three slider options. The pulled pork was fantastic, but the chicken and burger sliders were lacking just a little bit of flavor (still good though!). I reserve five star ratings for establishments that provide that "Wow" factor. I came in to order food to go and I wasn't greeted or acknowledged by any of the bartenders or servers but two men came in after me and they greeted them and immediately served them I had to call the bartender over to take my order and she immediately walked away and no longer acknowledged me while I was waiting... Its a good location, esp for the hotels nearby and I still like the layout and patio. This was a big to-go place for the O&G workers which don't exist anymore. Bad news. Normally I wouldn't leave a negative review like this due to the whole 2020 situation but other places haven't tanked this bad even with reduced seating and hours. Stopped by here on a Friday night around 7ish. Restaurant wasn't as busy as we expected. It's preferential seating so we sat down and were quickly greeted by our waitress. We ordered chicken tenders, Acapulco chicken, fried okra, and cream corn. Chicken tenders were good. Acapulco Chicken was the BOMB! Soooo good! Fried Okra was fresh and good as well. Both Burgers were dry and chewy, like microwavable chewy. the burgers are near $16 and such a disappointment. Best Burger sign needs to be ripped down. I would have been more excited for a McDouble from McDonald's. The employees were all huddled in a corner near a soda machine laughing and enjoying one another, completely ignoring guests. The place was playing music and then a DJ also started playing music AT THE SAME TIME. why play a music station AND have a DJ?! The DJs setlist was embarrassing, absolute TRASH, but the DJ herself was nice. Friday night visit, after 8pm. I'm rating this a 3/5 to explain it's a decent place with decent food. It's not as flashy as other bar/grills but it works in a pinch! The game room: Ok so the lights were half off, felt kind of humid, no one seemed to even notice it was there. Were we not supposed to go in, perhaps? No one stopped us. We played a few games and it was fine but the room definitely needs some upkeep. The service: Not bad at all. nice waitress, helped me choose a good drink. but my burger came out a few minutes before his which was a little awkward. We were well taken care of otherwise. Burgers: fairly big and come in multiple sizes...the meat is ok, not really juicy but not dry. Catfish: got it to go. Comes with fries, they were pretty lame. The crust on the catfish kinda separated but it was still good and the filets are sizable. I bought 3pc the first time and ended up sharing with my coworker because I couldn't tackle it all. Get it, tackle....no, nevermind! Lol Acapulco chicken: that is an utter pass, fail, flag on the play. Not good even if it sounds so. You'd think chicken breast, cheese, avocado would be delicious....yeah no. Abort that mission!!!! Grilled pork chops: comes with 3 thin bfast style...good but they need to have an option for frying them. Sides: fried okra and green beans...both standard. Avoid jalapeño mac & cheese....nah bruh! They have weekday deals that start around 4. I have had a few offer them to me during lunch. Guess it depends on who you get. Most of the service is pretty nice, imagine the Hooters' vibe waitresses and boom, there you go. Lots of TVs...patio when the weather is nice. I have been here several times, mostly for lunch, but I suggested that a few of my friends meet here for the NCAA elite 8 games today. It started with 2 of us getting here early and then we were joined by 5 more a little later. Our waitress was Nicky and we kept her busy most of the night. We had numerous drinks and food and she was able to keep all of our tabs separate and accurate. This was impressive to me. We had different guys ordering rounds and food I don't know if I could have kept up, but of course I had a few drinks lol. I had the catfish sandwich and it was very good, a few others tried the sandwich and the Catfish basket and they all liked it. We also had one person have a hamburger because they are known for their burgers. He enjoyed it. They also had crawfish today and we tried a few pounds but although they were spicy they weren't the best that we ever had. We all are from New Orleans and we know what crawfish is supposed to taste like. Several of the guy have boiled them themselves. One reason we chose this place was because of the large amount of TVs that they have, I think its over 30 so no matter where you sit, you can see all of the action. Decent draft beer selection. Amazing sliders, especially the jalapeño chicken. Patio is solid with good seating options. Service is great, very customer focused and perceptive. Biggest drawback points are (1) the outdoor speakers on the patio and (2) the embarrassingly terrible music playlist. Speakers sound like shit. Music sounds better on my iPhone speakers. Was in town for work and this bar was nearby. I liked the fact that even though the place is surrounded by hotels and strip malls, as soon as you enter it feels like you are in a country bar. Maybe a little hokey, but I think they did a decent job with the barn/cabin type feel with the wood interior. They are definitely aiming for the sports bar crowd with all the TVs but it didn't seem as overwhelming as some sports bars do. The selection of local beers was good and this always makes me happy when I travel. Ordered four beers total and they were all from the area. The server was friendly and attentive and made me feel welcome. They had a sign outside advertising "Ask about our pretzel" and so I felt obligated even though I didn't expect it to be noteworthy. The server insisted it was really good and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it actually was. Probably the best food item I tried there. I also tried the Jalapeno Chicken Slider and the Tailgater Slider and neither of those were anything special. Edible and that's about it. At one point, the manager came over and spoke to our table. Our server's shift had ended and our service was switched to the bartender. I don't know if this worried him and if he thought we weren't being cared for, but he was very friendly and made sure that a new server was assigned to us. We assured him everything was fine, but he proceeded to bring us a basket of fried pickles for free and later a big basket of mozzarella sticks for free. The pickles were good but the mozzarella sticks were ordinary chain restaurant quality. In the evening, karaoke was starting and we stayed and sang a few songs before leaving. The karaoke DJ was really nice and even sang some songs himself. Overall, I would say that the staff are all very friendly and attentive and make a visit enjoyable. I usually swing by for lunch so it's not much of a review for game days or late night, but rather just visiting for a casual lunch. They have daily food specials that are impressive. Steak for $1 an ounce on Wednesdays, 50 cent oysters on Fridays, etc. Beyond the specials, the regular menu offers your bar food options covering burgers, chicken fried steak, sliders, sandwiches, salads, fried sides, etc. All have been fairly solid in my experience. Service is hit or miss. I've had servers who were all over it and then another time a server who would forget half the order and make it a slow painful process. That's really what gets this place 3 stars. You're playing roulette each time depending on who you get, but if it's a great server, should be a good time. Everyone there is down to have a good time, drink, laugh, and pull for the home team. They have a lot of awesome people from all walks of life so it's a everyone's bar.
