It's $4:99/lb with drink purchase and they sell all the add ons separately. It's just only one flavor but I think the added paid for flavor made up for anything that might be lucking. This fun outdoor/indoor restaurant is a staple in the Houston/katy area. This has been around for many many years and has always been able to keep the customers coming back time and time again. You can choose whether you want to sit outside or inside and there are playground areas for the kids to play in the back of the restaurant When you first walk in, you will see a giant menu on the wall and you will order at the counter. I have had a few celebration lunches at this restaurant and we have never been disappointed. The food quality is top-notch and you will never leave hungry. This past weekend, we got the turkey BLT and a grilled chicken sandwich. The piece of chicken was truly big enough for two sandwiches. The bread was super fresh. The cheese was perfectly melted with a lot of places. Do not know how to do these days. I wasn't thrilled with their french fries this time, but I also understand that it was Mother's Day and it was very very busy. The turkey BLT was the perfect amount of meat to bacon ratio, which is always a great thing to have. Their prices are pretty comparable to other places, but the service that you get at Clays is top-notch and everybody is super friendly and the restaurant is always super clean and well kept up. There is never short of staff waiting around to see if you need anything or to bring you refills or whatever it is that you need. Went here for the first time, after passing it on the road so many times...what a hidden gem! The place is huge! Parking lot is big, as well. Walking inside can be a little bit of a maze but once you get to the line you order your food first and pick one of the many tables. You can sit inside, outside, or covered patio area near the kids section with the huge sand pit and some small rides ($). The green space is huge to let the kids run around. Originally I wasn't too sure about how the food would be here, but man was I overly impressed with the chicken fried steak. I ordered the larger size and was it good! A pretty good place for young kids and outdoor select seating. The best thing about this place is its unique feel and the "town" ambiance that has us coming back. Walking in, you'll see a good facility that plays up to the "old town" feel out in the country. Rustic, western and good ol' American food items on the menu. The menu itself is quite limited for my liking. Burgers, fried stuff, a few salads make up around 80% of its menu. The crawfish didn't look great to me but I did see a few tables get their share. I ordered onion rings and grilled chicken salad. The onion rings were amazing! It came out in a large plate that was stacked up high. Wish I took a picture of it. The salad was decent actually, good amount of chicken, but overall forgetful and very ordinary. My wife got a grilled fish platter and taste was on point, but also very vanilla and plain. I suppose the highlight of Clays is its open field where young kids can run around and play. They also have a sand pit where kids abuse each other by throwing sand. Its relatively clean and well kept. There are old school coin operated machines that don't work along the sides that toddler like to climb onto. Overall, I had an average experience at Clay's its a good place to meet up with friends with young families and thats what I use it for. Food selection is limited, especially if you don't want burgers or anything fried, but the play ground situation is pretty good. read more

The service was decent. You order at the register. Drinks were okay. Now the carwfish was nasty there was no flavor to it. Just toget potatoes, corn, sausage, boiled egg and ect., you have to pay per item. Which ends up getting a bit pricey. I will not be back for the crawfish! read more

The food here is amazing. Ordered the seafood platter. The platter accompanied (2) fried catfish, (3) fried butterfly shrimp, fried popcorn shrimp, hush puppies, switched out onion rings and cold slaw. The service was friendly, upbeat and highly suggested of the menu. The ambiance was western and child-friendly. Very clean, exciting but safe. Full of space and activities for the young ones. Was SO excited to try the crawfish here for the first time after seeing their FB post about having a great Easter deal! I've been to Clay's many times before and everything was great. We ordered 7lbs of crawfish to go, last night and when we got it home.. when I say.. GRIT and muddy! I'm fully aware that crawfish come from mud but there is proper ways of cleaning them... this is NOT ok! I went back to the post and commented on their Facebook (after they asked for a review on the crawfish) and comment was deleted and I got BLOCKED!!! Haha.. I then called and spoke to the manager and explained. He took my info down to "check this out" and said he'd be giving me a call back aaaand... nothing.... I've eaten here a few times before, and everything seemed fine. However, when I came back with some friends, I started to feel that there was some discrimination. At first, I was standing at the counter to order food. It's true that I might have been standing in the wrong spot, but the employee didn't say anything at the beginning. When it started getting busy and it seemed like it was finally my turn, she told me that I had to get in line where she pointed. I followed her instructions and went to the line she indicated. At that time there were two lines waiting to order, which was fine if it was my mistake. There was one woman standing in front of me, and the employee took her order. But when it became my turn, she suddenly told me that this was not the ordering line and that I had to go back and get in line again from the beginning. In total, it took more than 30 minutes just to try to place one order. Honestly, she didn't need to handle the situation that way. From the beginning, I noticed that the other line was mostly elderly people, and I was actually planning to let them go first out of respect. I'm an educated person and I always try to be polite and considerate toward others. What I don't understand is why she didn't simply tell me from the start where I should stand, instead of making me wait and then sending me back again. When I finally placed my order, her attitude made it feel like I was begging for food, even though I was there as a paying customer. I also want to say that the other staff members were actually very kind and friendly. Even though my bill was only around $200, I didn't hesitate to tip more than 50% because I truly appreciated the service from those who were welcoming and respectful. There's no need to treat people differently. We are all living and working here under the same laws, and no matter what race we come from, we all share the same red blood. read more

What a cool little place. The manager (owner?) was so accommodating. We had a little ladies get together and we were about to reserve the entire back room for our visit. The cheese burger was really good, exactly as ordered. The sweet potato fries were waffle cut and amazing. UPDATE: I was contacted by Clays regarding this review and I told them I would update it because their food IS good and worth going here. I also explained that I also believed that people will want to know that they will not be able to watch Astros games there, this season. My review has no implication of poor service or food quality both have always been good, we will still patronize Clays, just not on game days or during game time. Whoever is managing the Facebook Social Media page has deleted my question 3 times from the Clays page. There is no option to message them directly. I simply asked if Clays would be showing Astros games this season since last year, they did not which meant we had to go somewhere else to watch it and eat. A simple yes or no answer would have sufficed. Sad that it has to come to this to get an answer. Not a good way to treat a long time, repeat customer. read more

I absoutley love Clay's, and I frequent this place often. This place is very casual and kid friendly. This is the kind of place you go just to enjoy a nice evening out with the family, get some good food and laugh. When I go I always go for the crawfish and margaritas but I always also try something new. My son always gets the burger kids meal. I love the fact that we can go dine and my son can hang out in the courtyard area where there are typically other kids. Come here every Wednesday and it's always delicious! The crawfish is huge and only $4.99 a pound! We've also tried the cheeseburgers, loaded baked potatoes (pulled pork is better than brisket in our opinion), quesadillas, and potato skins. All really good and reasonably priced! The servers here are so nice and super helpful with whatever you need- especially Jo & Princess! Every time they see us they always greet us with a smile and help make our visit more pleasant. This is an interesting place and you might miss it if you're not from that part of town. I don't come up there much anymore but way back in another lifetime before Bear Creek had much development, I used to drive by here night and never knew what it was but today our hike group was meeting there after our hike so going up on Clay road was bringing back some old memories. We got there right when they opened so I guess that's why a lot of the people from our group for which we had a reservation didn't make it so our "group" which was supposed to be much larger was just a handful of people and apparently they charge a service fee for large groups which I can understand. To be honest, I was annoyed at first because there was like only 6 of us and it's counter service but they won me over with the actual level of service we received. They must have checked on us to see if we needed anything about 5 times and refilled drinks left and right and just let us be after we were done eating and were basically just taking up space. I know some other places in town start to shoo you away while you still have some fries left on your plate. Maybe it was the perfect weather, maybe it was the good company, but I really liked this place. The food was good. I had a grilled chicken salad and the grilled pineapple they put on top really added an extra bit of detail. Other people seemed to like their food too. There is also plenty of parking. This really is a huge place too with an area for the kids to play in and several private areas for I guess private party type things (weddings or whatever). read more

Very discriminatory towards me and my service dog today. I usually go to clays a couple of times out the week but I will never go again. I am a disabled veteran and I called ahead to make sure everything was good. I sat at a table by myself and away from people and the crowd. I had a manager come out and say no pets allowed and I told him she was my service animal. He said okay and walked away. He never apologized. She was not barking or causing a disturbance you wouldn't even had known she was there unless you walked over and physically saw her. I LOVE Clay's! I've been dining here for years because it was by my old house, but even living on the other side of Houston this place is worth the trip! Parking: There is a MASSIVE parking lot - It's huge! I've never seen it full and you'll always have a parking spot Accessibility: There are wheelchair ramps available Seating: This place is huge and has tons of seating! I usually opt for a table on the uncovered patio if the weather is nice, but there is also covered patio areas and indoor seating. Food: The food is solid. My go to is the Clay burger. It's tasty and all the ingredients have flavor - plus the patty is huge. I also personally like to get their frozen margaritas. Service: The service is pretty good. They seem to hire a lot of younger people (teens maybe?) as servers, which I love for the work experience aspect but sometimes it does leave service a bit lacking. Overall though, if you don't want to wait you can go to the counter and get whatever you need. Drinks are self service. This place is pretty quirky and I love the personality that brings. This is what really bumps the rating up for me. There's a big fenced in yard with an old western town scene, sometimes there's ducks and other wild life hanging out, there are a ton of little rides for kids and a sand pit to play in. An establishment that is one of those place everyone goes to. Big space, big menu big food! It is kind of like a place that has been added on to and added on to over time.. it is a bit wonky but cohesive at the same time. It has a very down home rustic feel. The menu is on the wall when you walk in, take a look, then walk up and order. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich... however many ordered the chicken fried steak. The pulled pork was good not too much not too little. The flavor was good but nothing great. The fries were good and crispy. Those that got the chicken fried steak got one heck of a big plate! Lots of food. The chicken fried steak was huge! We had about 14 people here and we got in and out with zero issues. It was well handled with the order then sit down style so this is a good spot for big groups. When I was here the outside area had just been finished and it was nice looking. These Crawfish could be good if they clean them well and let them soak. There was alot of grass/debris in the Crawfish, which is a sign of them not being cleaned properly and they looked dirty. I can tell that the actual boil is good but they just boil them and don't let the seasoning soak in. They give them to you dry af. So they weren't Juicy. The heads were dry as the Sahara. I finally had the chance to drop in after hearing so many things about Clay's from friends all over Houston. The ambiance is that of a Western Countryside with lots and lots of space. They have a lot of good eats, I was super hungry and I didn't feel like getting my hands dirty with crawfish so I opted for a burger. The way they do your ticket/tab is interesting. It's an open tab for card transactions where you can add additional alcohol or desserts if needed. If not you sign it and leave it at the table.
