Ordered a dozen raw oysters and a michelada with miller light. The oysters were not fat and plump. They kinda looked malnourished. I guess it's partially due to it not being oyster season. My biggest complaint was the oysters were not cold. It barely even tasted room temp and in my opinion, if you're gonna serve me raw oysters it better be cold. It just didn't taste right and killed it for me. The michelada was also a disappointment. It barely tasted like a michelada. It was also served with a slice of lime and salt around the rim. That's odd because I've gotten this at a lot of places and it was never served that way. The salt on the rim, didn't go with the flavor. The michelada mix itself tasted like it lacked flavor. It literally was missing oyster juice or something. It just tasted like spicy Louisiana hot sauce. If that makes any sense. All in all, I probably wouldn't be back. It's too far from my house and isn't worth the drive. I rather go to other places for my oyster and michelada fix. read more

My buddy and I came here for dinner last night, thinking it would be comparable to the other Wild Cajun location on Wilcrest & Bellaire. We had never been so fkd&baffled before by what our expectations were going in and the reality that actually occurred. Since we are going with a Western theme here, I will rate it accordingly. THE GOOD - Wings (4 stars): Usually I don't bother with anything besides crawfish and shrimp when I go to these places, but I wanted to try them here at this location. We ordered the CAJUN wings and they were delicious - dry, breaded, and nicely-seasoned and cooked. This was the best part of the meal - we even ordered another serving afterwards. THE BAD - Service (2 stars): The whole waitstaff seemed very inexperienced. After the hostess showed us to the table, it was a good 10 minutes before our waitress came to take our drink orders. By that time we already knew what we wanted to order - Cajun wings and garlic butter crawfish. It was very difficult to get her attention throughout the course of the meal, and there were only 4 tables with customers when we showed up and 8 tables when we left. There were also 3 waitresses and 1 waiter, so it boggled my mind that among the 4 of them they couldn't handle 8 tables maximum. AND THE UGLY - Crawfish (1 star): If this location wants to make a name for themselves, then they better pay closer attention to how they cook and season their crawfish. Ordered the garlic butter mild and was extremely disappointed. Biggest problem was the sauce/seasoning. These must have been desert crawfish because the sauce was little more than a dry rub, and when I opened up the crawfish there were no juices inside. It would not surprise me if I looked outside and a tumbleweed rolled by. Another problem was they overcooked the crawfish. I had to de-shell the whole tail since none of the meat would pull out. This has been my favorite crawfish place for the last 3 years. I only come here for the crawfish but since the family tag along, I was able to tried other dishes. I always get the garlic butter crawfish. When in season, the crawfish are in good size. Still not better than the 88 boiling crawfish but this place is really close to my house. I forgot the price for the new potatoes but every time I order. they always give you 1 small and 1 medium. I think they hand select the potatoes as its never 2 of the same size or close. The combo fried rice is no bueno. Not enough crawfish, shrimp, beef and chicken. The fried wings are fried to perfection with a hint of garlic taste The one dish I didn't like was the Cajun combo. It came with fried shrimp, fish, oyster over a bed of fries. - the shrimp was over pounded flat (when taking a bite you can only taste the batter) - The fried fish again too much breading. Fried oyster - it was ok. Sorry but long John silvers have better fried seafood then this dish. After the high expectations from the Wild Cajun on Wilcrest (the first original location) this location does not disappoint! They do have the same menu for the most part but this location does have sushi, but they compensate by having a full bar! Come during the right time and crawfish is perfect! They had happy hour crawfish but ended it because obviously season is over. I am really looking forward to coming back when crawfish season begins again! But until then they have other menu staple items to keep me happy! They have wings, blue crab, Vietnamese dishes, oysters, yes freaking good grilled oysters! The oysters are the best part! Its a lot cheaper than at places as well so I'm a fan!! This location is slightly a little smaller than the first location, but this location has a nicer patio seating area. Have not tried dining in the outdoor patio because hoisting heat is killer. I might try once it gets cooler because it looks quite nice. read more

I normally go to the Wilcrest location for my crawfish cravings but today, my parents decided to go to this location. Best decision yet! The staff was friendly and the owner was extremely helpful. He took really good care of our table, table for 12. We were a handful. We ordered about 40 lbs of crawfish, 4 plates of the Cua Rang Me, 3 orders of the fried oysters, an order of the gator, 2 orders of the fried rice and about 30 beers. Yum yum yum. I absolutely love this place. I tried crawfish in New Orleans back in 2006 but I've been staying away from it the whole time because I didn't think that I liked it. Obviously that was a mistake, the crawfish was amazing I also had blue crab which I would not recommend it's very dry and not sweet (get snow and pay the extra), andouille sausage, corn on the cob, and I tried the fried cheesecake. All the food was amazing and the wait staff here was very attentive. Granted I did come at about 7 PM so there wasn't a ton of people in there yet but, they were very friendly and my food was served fast. Went for the first time last week and I loved it! I am VERY picky with my crawfish but this place too it! As soon as you walk in it's clean, they have a bar so you can get drinks and not just beer, and the staff is very nice and attentive. The prices as moderate not too bad since it is seafood but even with 4 lbs of crawfish, crab legs and 3 drinks we didn't spend a lot which we were thinking we were. The portions are huge and the prices are SUPER reasonable. This is a nice spot for hanging out. Last night I had a party with friends. There were something I wanna say about. Crawfish was ok, nothing special. The blue crabs were really bad, the crab meat were super soft, it could be either over cooked, or the crabs were frozen or died before cooking for so long. Customer service is good tho. It's funny when my friend ordered a dozen of oyster, and our waitstaff brought us this plate with only 8 oysters. She said because the oysters were big, so we could only have 8 instead of 12. We didnt complain about it, but I think that's not right? If the oyster were small, they could give us extra or not, nothing wrong with it but there's no reason they took out of what customer ordered and paid for.
