I've been here twice for the 3 for $45 dinner and am amazed by the special experience, intimate ambience, and flavors. Both times we came, it wasn't very busy and the managers came by and told us a lot about the restaurant, menu, chef, and everything. The value is incredible and the treatment is really top notch. Food-wise, the meals come with bread and butter and we go during happy hour to get half off drinks. Everything is really tasty and there are some really unique flavors and innovative usages of ingredients that make the dishes special. I think the appetizers really shine brightest actually and I was wowed by the beef carpaccio and crab ceviche. Their menu changes every season so I'm excited to come back and try new creations. Parking is also really convenient with a validated garage. So highly recommend for a special occasion or gathering with friends and a good time.

The Carillon was just fabulous and destined to compete for a Michelin Star. This was our romantic night out where the whole experience was terrific. I was not expecting such 5 star treatment and not exactly dressed for the occasion in business formal but I was wearing a nice Texas Longhorn shirt with pants. The restaurant was not busy and practically had the place to ourselves however the next night was packed with a wait list Our captain was the best being super friendly and tended to our dining preferences. He was also our sommelier and helped me select a nice glass of wine. We were provided with some delicious bread and real butter along with a shot of special tea to compliment it. My main dish for the night was the Maple Leaf Duck Breast with a small confit duck "pot pie" with two small cornbread muffins on top where the sliced duck was on top of the pimento cheese golden grits. The sliced duck was so good I took my time eating it. However I forgot about the pot pie and then tried it. Well it was also duck but cooked so soft it melted in my mouth along with the vegetable ingredients it was buried in. It was the best. The cornbread was also great and overall one of the best meals I had over a year or two. My wife had the Rosewood Wagyu N.Y. Strip and said was one of the best steaks she also had. I have a feeling we will be returning often to dine here whether staying at the AT&T Hotel, attending Texas home games, or at the Bullock Texas State History Museum. In conclusion, if you are looking for an upscale night to celebrate or impress your business partners then this place is definitely for you. They can cater to different dinning situations with many private rooms and configurations. They also had their own bar with TVs showing sports. The next morning we had breakfast here and ordered the Two Eggs Breakfast with smoked bacon, breakfast potatoes and croissant. Just like dinner the food was tasty and delicious. Everything was made in-house with that farm style flavor. More great service to make us fell welcomed.

Seared Sea Bass with little neck clams, tom yum, Thai herbs, and tomato confit

Wow! What a pleasant surprise Carillon turned out to be!!! I stayed at the AT&T Center and decided to go down to Carillon for a late dinner (it was around 9:20). I went with the special and chose my starter, entree, and dessert for $55. Believe me, this is a great deal with the food that you get. I started with the Ahi Tuna Tataki, which was beautifully presented and the strawberry nuoc mam sauce was poured tableside. Not only did the dish look stunning, it tasted stunning. The tuna had the lightest sear on the outside and it was melt in your mouth. The avocado mousse, the small cucumber balls, the slightly charred strawberries, and the nuoc mam all worked together to create a unique bite. The nuoc mam was a balance of sweet, sour, salty, and umami. The entire dish was refreshing while packing a punch of flavor at the same time! It was a great way to start the meal. Then came the Seared Sea Bass. It was cooked beautifully and came straight out of the kitchen, as was evident by the temperature of the fish. It was buttery and also melt in your mouth, while the seared outside provided a slight texture contrast. It was extraordinarily well-cooked. The rice pilaf had peanuts sprinkled throughout, and it worked well with the tom yum sauce. It was not the typical tom yum flavor as you'd expect, but it had the perfect blend of creaminess provided by coconut milk and the typical sweet, salty, and sour flavor of a Thai tom yum. I only wish that it had some Thai chili in it to add spice to the sauce. The tomato confit provided the pop of tanginess to cut through the richness of the sauce and the Thai herbs (basil and mint mainly) provided the freshness. It was just a wonderful dish. The dessert was good, but it was definitely the weakest of the three items I got. Overall, this is still one of the best dinners I've had in Austin, and I've been fortunate to have dined at many restaurants like Hestia, Uchi, and other top tiered restaurants here. The restaurant was pretty empty when I arrived because it was so near closing time, but I never felt rushed. The courses came out well timed, and I was able to enjoy the dinner while being able to look around and appreciate the ambiance and decor of the restaurant. This is definitely a hidden gem and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Austin!

A started option

A bit of a hidden gem worth a try! Very beautiful presentation of each dish, hats off to the chef for that. Also, a more initiate menu but amazing options. The mushroom soup started was to die for and the sea bass main dish was impeccable. The portions were almost overwhelming though which is why I decreased a star but overall a great spot to try!

Chocolate Ganache

One word to describe my experience, amazing. I ordered the 3 for $45 and was not disappointed. Salad, sea bass & chocolate cake thing. Sorry! I don't remember the names. Salad was amazing, plate was full of greens. Seabass outer layer was crispy and the sauce they pour onto the plate made it taste way better. Chocolate cake thing had crunchy crumbs on top which was a great add. The employees were extremely nice & always made sure my friend & I were well taken care of. The ambiance gives a 5 star restaurant vibe.

This is NOT a paid advertisement. I am so blown away with this restaurant, from the moment we Sat down we were quickly greeted and served the 3 course for 45 dollar meal. The portions were generous, and the food was delectable! I had the bisque and sea bass with a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc (the manager Elliot is also the sommelier). What a wonderful dinner in a beautiful place with great service at an unbeatable price!

Amy P.

Started with nice quality rolls, though that seemed like an old-fashioned surprise, few restaurants these days have a bread starter. I wasn't planning to have it but I ended up eating both! The waygu beef carpaccio was a work of art, light and flavorful. Seabass... lovely, herbal, mild heat from coconut- based sauce. Finished with creme brulee... enjoyed that but no so much the cookies served with it. Early on a Tuesday night, service was highly attentive.

Our Valentine's Day haul!

Not sure why people seem to be sleeping on this restaurant. I've been here a couple times for events and the food and service were excellent. But most recently, we ordered a Valentine's Day bundle, hoping to spread some love to local businesses during COVID. The weather was just starting to get dreadful, but everything was packed up for us complete with instructions for reheating. We had the most delightful salmon, chateaubriand, an AMAZING pate, a gorgeous fruit-heavy green salad, plus lots of little extras. We actually ate really well for a couple days when our power went out because of this! If there's ever another opportunity to order one of these to-go specials, do it!

Espresso Chocolate Tart

Did you know there is a high-end restaurant located right ON the UT campus? Behind the MBA building you'll find The Carillon which specializes in contemporary American fare. They offer a 3-course meal for $45 with your choice of starter, main, and dessert. I got 2 selections from each category such as: Starters: - Berkwood Farms Pork Belly ($14): you get an array of flavors from the refreshing herbal Japanese cucumber to the sweet and tart flavors from their pineapple butter, to the rich fatty flavor of the pork! (4.5/5) - Baby Iceberg Wedge ($9): nothing particularly different about this, but it does have big chunks of bacon and cornbread crumbs on top which made it fun. (3/5) Mains: - Georges Bank Scallops ($42): comes with sweet potato, asian pear, pureed sweet potato, and leek butter. One of the more fun takes on scallops I've had! (3.25/5) - Marfa Meats N.Y. Strip ($46): comes with potatoes, broccolini, and bordelaise (a sauce made up of red wine, bone marrow, butter, etc.) which was tasty! This deep, rich sauce paired with the chewy beef made for a great combination. (4/5) Desserts: - Chocolate on Chocolate ($9): a dense, dark chocolate taste with a nice slight crunch on the inside with kicks of sweet raspberry. (4/5) - Espresso Chocolate Tart ($9): if you're looking for something more on the coffee side of things, then you'll like this. Was hoping the tart would have been a bit more soft however. (3.25/5) Drinks: - Suntory's 6 ($13): gin cocktail with raspberry with hints of bright, bitter, and sweet notes. (3.5/5) - The French Mule ($12): vodka cocktail with lime and ginger beer with hints of bubbly, sour, and refreshing notes. (3.5/5) The 3-course meal is a no brainer because if you bought all this food a la carte, you would have spent $129 vs just $90. If you live near by, it's not a bad spot to go on a date or to celebrate a special occasion like graduation. I may have liked some items more than others, but nothing here was bad, so they did a good job overall and I give them a 3.5/5!

Best idea ever and you get introduced to different things that you typically wouldn't maybe try on own. Ended up making a reservation for a Sunday evening and was seated towards the back. Unfortunately, you cannot do the tasting menu at the bar. You have to sit at a table. I will say that's a one downside because as a solo diner, it don't mind sitting at the bar, I would prefer it actually however I wanted the tasting menu so here we are. The dining room area was very modern and very high ceilings in the back area that I was seated in had a beautiful outdoor view, especially if you're facing outward. The kitchen itself you could see as you walked by through to go to the restrooms and then also you were able to see the bar when you first entered the restaurant. Once I was seated, I was able to order the tasting menu and I did add on the wine pairing menu which it's a decent amount. I'm not gonna lie thank goodness I took a ride share. First off they have a martini order sheet. So if you're looking for a specific type of martini, you can check off the boxes and hand it in. Now the thing that shocked me was when the martini cart came running around the corner. This was really fun to see as a gentleman next to me ordered a martini and it's made table side so you really get to see the action right upfront. Now, after the martini card left, my cart came with all of these little wonderful bites to start off with. The gentleman who gave me the rundown of what was on the menu let me know that I needed to eat as he was talking. So some of these items were meant to be eaten right away not to wait for him to finish his spiel. However, that came back because he ended up telling me I was going too fast! The food was amazing, everything that I had, I didn't take a ton of the food pictures cause I really wanted to enjoy the moment, but everything I had was amazing. There was nothing on the menu that I did not like. There was a couple next to me celebrating their anniversary and they ended up having the scallops which were absolutely phenomenal. They ended up telling me or asking me if I was getting scallops, and I wasn't sure because I didn't see it on the menu Thankfully, the next dish that came out next was the scallops and y'all that was absolutely oh my gosh just melted her mouth delicious. The couple watched me....and waited for the reaction. It didn't disappoint. Now the couple was there because they had a gift card which was nice and they were French told them specifically to get the scallops and you could order 10 of them and you totally could you totally could. They're that good. The service itself was phenomenal from start to finish everyone that came and assisted dropping off food or picking up plates bringing me the next round of wines was just absolutely so kind and fun to interact with. I also really enjoyed the variety of wines that were offered because it gave me a few new ones that I hadn't tried before which is always nice. Now it definitely is a bit pricey however I found that the service and the food itself was really amazing and I would totally go back. And yes, I would definitely do the tasting menu again cause it just made it so easy to try so many things on the menu. And I think they do it for all the guests, but there was a nice little lovely delicious pastry that was given to take home with me and it was phenomenal. The next day kind of reminded me of a Kouign-amann pastry, That is definitely get again!

One of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time…read more I was in Austin with a longtime friend from the franchise world and we decided to sit at the bar at Odd Duck. That turned out to be the best decision we made all night. Our bartender, Terrence, completely took care of us. Instead of trying to figure out what to order, we basically told him to bring us what he thought we should experience. From there, it turned into our own tasting menu... and it was phenomenal. Every dish had incredible depth of flavor, creativity and balance. There were combinations I probably never would have ordered on my own, and that was half the fun. We kept looking at each other after each course saying, "Are you kidding me?" What really made the night, though, was Terrence. He understood exactly what we were looking for, paced everything perfectly and turned a great dinner into a truly memorable experience. My friend was blown away and hasn't stopped talking about it. Neither have I. If you go to Odd Duck, sit at the bar, ask for Terrence and let him take care of you. Five stars... easily. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

And it was a nice big (1/2) chicken! It came with a generous serving of broccolini. It came with mashed potatoes (actually, puréed potatoes), too. They were good, though I prefer not-perfectly-mashed (let alone puréed) potatoes and the serving was not quite as generous). Don't get me wrong--we would order this again. The service was good, definitely acceptable by modern standards for the price range, but not outstanding. The ambiance was that of a modern, slightly upscale hotel restaurant. Nothing really fancy. But the wait staff was dressed nicely and so were the other patrons. All in all, a good experience! Oh, the most puzzling thing was that at the end the waiter asked me if we wanted to put the tab on a card or on the room tab. I was confused for a moment until I realized that we were in a hotel (something in the Marriott family). I put it on my credit card, of course. We also got the mushrooms side which was really yummy!

We typically enjoy ordering the skillet, but unfortunately, we had a very strange experience during this visit.
