This place had a very cool vibe, and the service was pretty good. We ordered a very wide selection of food and I will rate them individually. The loaded duck fries, this was something I was very reluctant to try, but I am glad I did. I don't care for duck, but this dish was a big hit. 8.5 out of 10. Lemon pepper wings, these were not good at all, none of us liked them 3 out of 10. Korean BBQ wings, these were fantastic, 9 out of 10. Beef Wellingtons were not good at all, The meat was very tough, 3 out of 10. Chicken and biscuits, this one was pretty good, 7 out of 10. Steak Frites, this was very disappointing, the meat just wasn't great, 4 out of 10. Mac and cheese, this one was not a huge hit, but was just okay, 6 out of 10. Brussels au gratin, it has a lot of flavor going on, overall, mixed opinions, 6.5 out of 10. Mexican carrots, this dish was fantastic, 9.5 out of 10. Brixton burger duo, was very good, 9 out of 10. Really cute place and unique food options! They recommend getting a few dishes to split, so we got the steamed buns with shrimp, ramen bites, mac & cheese, and general tso's cauliflower. I enjoyed it all, but the cauliflower and ramen bites were my favorite! The ramen bites were a little weird at first, but I really grew to like them. The Brixton is amazing to say the very least. Hands down my favorite restaurant. I go here ALL the time and I'm surprised it has taken me this long to do a review. The staff is great and are always so pleasant. Emily and Heather are awesome, friendly and are always killing it behind the bar. From the buns all the way to brunch this place is phenomenal. The French toast sticks are drool worthy and delicious, can't go wrong with the shrimp and grits and my fiancé loves the morning tacos. The wings are flavorful no matter if you go with the lemon pepper or the Korean bbq. The chicken and biscuits are so good the chicken fried nicely but still so juicy. Rye or dye and the gold rush are my favorite cocktails and the O.T.D.B comes in at a close third for me. But all of their cocktails are amazing. Go crazy and try whatever your heart desires. The cocktail menu changes seasonally and they always have their classic mainstays as well. Lots of pictures attached because let's face it I go here a lot lol. Came here on a Tuesday around 6 and there was no wait. The place isn't too big, and if your a party of 5 or more it would definitely be a tight squeeze!! We tried a couple of plates including the pizzette, the Bao buns, and the kale salad. The pizzette was OK, the dough was pretty thick, there was a very little amount of cheese, and it didn't taste too much like what I would have imagined it would! We had also ordered the bao buns which weren't bad, but there wasn't much meat within the bun, compared to the thick bun, I could mostly taste the sauce overall. The best part of the meal was definitely the kale salad! I'm not a huge fan of kale, but this was actually really tasty, especially the dressing. And the blueberry tea I would certainly get again. I went here a couple months ago for brunch and enjoyed the food and drinks a lot. The menu had a bunch of tasty options so it was hard to pick what to get but I went with the carnitas flat bread and my boyfriend got the banana pancakes as well as some drinks. I think we got mimosas? We also shared the apple dessert I think they were wontons, those were okay.. Not the best but overall I enjoyed this place and want to come back soon. read more

I stopped into The Brixton for a bite and a drink one Friday afternoon after work not realizing that I had less time to eat than I thought. The last thing you want to do is rush anyone at the restaurant because of your own miscalculation - but let me tell you that April at the bar must have picked up that I was in a pinch and unnecessarily and very kindly ran to my rescue. I put in an order of mussels that she precisely told me the kitchen reported would be out in exactly four minutes. Then she offered a drink while I waited and I had a refreshing concoction of gin with a sprig of thyme. The mussels promptly came out, in a cilantro broth with chorizo and a slice of sourdough bread - had me drinking the juice right out of the bowl. It's a really cool-looking space too. The hospitality, food and drink at The Brixton make the place more than worthwhile. read more

The service was very friendly and prompt, and I appreciate all the staff who was helpful and kind. The ambiance is cool, too, with a nice set up and fun murals painted on the walls. As for the food...this was where the review lost all of its stars. A daring and seemingly riveting food menu with no follow-through and prices that do not reflect this its quality. I wish I could say anything nice about it, but the disappointment after this dinner was potent. I was very excited to eat here for dinner with my friend only to be thoroughly underwhelmed by every dish, We had the short rib polenta, where the short rib tasted like it lacked so much flavor. The chicken and biscuits had an amazing siracha aioli and again, the chicken itself lacked flavor of any kind. Great crispiness to it, though, but I wish this place seasoned their meat even a little bit. The duck buns, I had high hopes for as well, but again was let down by the way the duck was cooked. Again, the only flavor was in the hoisin sauce, and the duck was dry. Made the mistake of rolling the dice with terrible $11/each s'more empanadas and warm brownie & vanilla gelato...don't bother. I never knew vanilla gelato could be flavorless, and a $11 brownie taste cheap and powdery. Great homemade whipped cream though. S'more empanadas had a cheap chocolate sauce inside it that we both hated. Nothing about this was redeemable. Unless something changes with the food quality across the board, I will not be eating here again, and I cannot in good faith recommend this place to anyone with tastebuds (except for the drinks, since my friend seemed to really love her cocktail). read more

I'm not sure why I haven't come here earlier, but this place is legit. Nice dark ambiance for a chill night. Love the industrial windows. We had the bao buns, and the bun was the perfect texture. Loved the tasty pork and the hoisin sauce. The puckered jalapeño brought a nice tang to offset the unctuousness of the pork. I also loved the peanuts for added texture. But my fav was the short rib and polenta. The meat was DEE licious. Loved the pickled onions and the brightness they brought to the dish. Our waiter was kind and helpful. We will absolutely be back. Loved loved loved the food here! The restaurant is in the smaller side. I called to make a late reservation on a Sunday soooo no luck there as they were fully booked, but they recommended open bar seats. Came back the next day around evening just in time for their specials. It was a Monday so they had $3 bao buns, which were delicious. I'm just not sure why you have to get a minimum of 3 for the special to apply. Either way everything was delicious! The plates are considered small portions, so they do recommend you get at least 2 per person. We tried the Brussels sprouts salad which was crunchy and had strawberries so very refreshing and not overly saturated in salad dressing. The Mac and cheese was flavorful and topped with crunchy onions... I mean can't go wrong with that. But I have to say my favorite thing by far was the Mexican carrots. I can literally eat 100 orders of this. I know what you're thinking... Mexican?? Must be spicy.WRONG! Just full of flavor!!! I actually hate sautéed onions because the texture in my mouth makes me feel as though I'm eating worms... not in this dish! I practically liked the plate clean!!! They are nice, roasted and tender. Topped with a delicious sauce and sprinkled with Cotija cheese. I have to say, don't sleep on this dish! You won't be disappointed. The drinks are great, and they have a decent sized menu. The garnishing favored the pork nicely. My friend ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and my other friend ordered short rib toast. No complaints at all! Everything was enjoyed by everyone. One of my friends ordered the morning martini. I don't remember everything that was in it. But I do remember cold brew coffee and vodka. What's better than those two things? Service was wonderful. Great tapas spot in the village of Babylon. Came here with my cousins for a Thursday night out and had a great time. Started off with a few drinks from there drink list. A couple people got mixed drinks and seemed to enjoy them, however I stuck with a few beers, which there was a nice variety of. For an app we split 2 helpings of poutine which was delicious. Cooked perfectly and tons of flavor. For dinner my wife and I split the chicken and biscuits and the hanger steak. The chicken and biscuits were awesome, great flavor and cooked perfectly. A little on the small side, however very good. The hanger steak was also very good and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend both these dishes. Got the dessert sampler which was pretty good. Food was really good but the odd thing was the ceiling was leaking water....actively. So much so that we needed to pick up our plates and huddle on one side. We needed to wait till the next table had moved and then asked to be seated once they bussed. I walk in and I'm seated at the bar tables. I ask about happy hour, I zoom in on the whiskey Rye or Dye. My waitress also tells me there are bao buns as a happy hour starter. I ordered the chicken as well as their signature burger. These guys are mixologists. I can see the bartenders hustling, mixing, shaking and measuring. My drink comes and man it is bangin'. Great job! Bao bun comes out, also pretty good. I can't wait for my burger. Burger - Epic fail. The hamburger patty wasn't seasoned, it had no flavor whatsoever. I get it, square and funky. The cheese was smelly and the onion compote wasn't that good. Forget about the burgers, the fries also sucked! The fries were limper than roses a week after Valentines day. I fell in love with this restaurant. When my good friend and I walked in, we were greeted by Ariana, the hostess, who was so welcoming and friendly. She made us feel very comfortable before we even sat down. The decor here is very cool and you feel like you're in the place to be. Our server, Cate, was just as cool and funny as Ariana. She was patient as it took us some time towards deciding on our selections. I made my own cheese and charcuterie board. It was outstanding. Enjoying a cheese and charcuterie board in a hip place just felt food and like we were doing all the right things. Did you ever go to a place and feel really good about what you ordered? I ordered goat cheese, prosciutto, olives, pickled vegetables (pickles and onions) and grapes. The board came with complimentary grain mustard, jam, and crostini. I would get the same exact thing. Everything was delicious and complimented each other very well. This board inspired me to want to venture out to find new boards. We were able to enjoy our meal in peace and were not rushed out even long after we had finished. I would absolutely come here again and very much hope to come back soon.
