Yeah, Boiling Crab has opened in Brea and it is off Brea Blvd on the same street as YardHouse, Improv, and Brea Chophouse. Came here right when they opened and had lunch with a party of five. We ordered crab, mussels, clams, crawfish, wings, oysters, and some potatoes and corn. Overall it was a tasty lunch we had the seasoning at a medium level but probably next time would be mild instead. It is flavorful so you can also order a side of rice to eat with it. Service was great and attentive, my water was filled every time it went halfway empty.

    Not saucy :(

We came here on a Sunday afternoon and sat outside. Gabriel helped us and he was very friendly and attentive. Outdoor seating was nice but they should put a shade or some sort of sunshade to block the suns direct sunlight. Food was just ok. Both seafood didn't have enough sauce. We were barely scrambling to get the sauce out of the shrimp and mussels bag. Mussels were over cooked and not debearded. Cajun chicken wings were just OK. Seasoning wasn't as flavorful. Fries were cooked perfectly.

Love how close this location is to me!! No more having to drive to Rowland or garden grove I was craving seafood boil on a Friday night after work. We got there around 6 and for a party of 2 only waited about 15 min. Food and service were especially quick! Can't wait to come back

We went for the grand opening on 6/2 around 6:30pm. The wait time was only 45 minutes to 1 hour. The shortest wait time we have had at any boiling crab. We got seated outside. The staff was very friendly but new. We ordered our usual, 2lbs shrimp with the whole shabang medium sauce, xxx the whole shabang sauce on the side, potato in butter, steamed rice, and 2 orders of fried catfish with cajun medium fries. They brought the rice out way before any other food came. Normally the timing is better so that we don't wait so long to actually eat it. Shrimp - these were okay. I think the combination of the sauce not being what we are used to and then then the shrimp peeling weird. Normally once peeled, they are still intact. These after peeled were slushy. They also had all sorts of gunk coming out of them. Normally we have a much cleaner shrimp. Catfish - these were good and also not so good. I don't think it was cooked evenly. The parts that were cooked correct were good and steaming hot. The parts thst weren't were rubbery. Unfortunately it was not just one piece that had this issue. Fries - perfect Service - the staff is super friendly. They were a little confused about what was still available and what wasn't, but honestly it was the first day, so that is okay. We would have liked to be checked in a little bit more though. But again, not complaining as it was the first day. Cleanliness- it was the first day and everything was sparkling clean. Overall we were pleased to see this place open up close to us. We love going but hate the drive. This location is perfect. I am hoping all these first day/week jitters come out and they improve an already impressive first day. I keep forgetting to mention my loyalty to receive points, but be sure to mention before you pay.

So happy we were able to make their grand opening. We waited for roughly ten minutes to be seated. We ordered our goodies with the famous Sha-Bang sauce and medium spicy. The service was phenomenal, Don and Jessica were the main ones assisting our table, but we had many others that checked on us throughout the experience. The restaurant vibes were energetic and lively. As always, parking in downtown Brea can get hectic...so anticipate it with a little patience!

We had the opportunity to attend a special event before the grand opening, and it was a fantastic experience! The service was excellent, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food came out fast. Everything we tried was delicious. We're especially excited to have The Boiling Crab so close to home here in Brea. Congratulations to the team on their grand opening today, June 2, 2026. Wishing them all the success and can't wait to come back!

AMY!!!!!! omg Amy was so kind and fun and gave us the best advice on what to order and how to build our bags. We didn't have a super solid idea of how to build our combos/extras so we just told her everything we wanted and she recommended which seasonings and food options to put together. If you're going (which you should because it was sooooooo good) you need to ask for the queen Amy's section. We didn't get a picture before eating but this is the chaos of after (get the whole shabang it's soooo good)

The restaurant itself is beautiful and in a great location, but the food, service, and overall experience were disappointing. I ordered the filet medium rare, and it came out extremely burnt on the outside while still very undercooked and almost bleeding in the center. When I mentioned it, they initially offered to "throw it back on the grill," but since the outside was already burnt, I declined and asked for a fresh steak. The replacement took about 30 minutes, after we had already waited roughly 40 minutes for our original food. We also rarely saw our server throughout the meal, although his assistant was very kind and attentive. The potatoes and asparagus were overcooked, lacked flavor, and overall the sides were underwhelming as well. What surprised me most was still being charged for the steak after it took two attempts and I barely ate it. For a restaurant with such strong reviews and a high price point that comes with it, I expected much better quality and service. I understand many people seem to love this place, but based on my experience, I would be unlikely to return and personally would not recommend it.

I would not order the calamari again; it was super dry and hard. We came around 4:30 on a Sunday and there was a line and the place was busy, but we found a table with no issue. Wanting to spend some time catching up with a friend after work, we decided to give Seasurf a try. After getting great feedback from some of my Yelp friends, many said that the Happy Hour offerings were amazing. The restaurant has a very open concept with half of it being "inside" but still very open to the outside patio area. This set up was great on the (very) warm summer evening we were there, but I wonder how it plays out during inclement weather? Anyway, orders are placed at the counter and brought to your table as they're ready. The gal working the register was friendly and patient about answering questions. The guys delivering the food and collecting finished plates were all also friendly and engaging. This be our first Happy Hour visit, I thought that because of the reduced prices that the portions would be smaller. Um, I was wrong! Thus, we had way more food than we could finish and ended up taking home a whole order of king taco asada nachos. We did polish off 2 orders of poke nachos, a classic fried fish taco, and a bowl of Hawaiian island poke. All of the nachos had a good ratio of protein to chips and all the "toppings" were super fresh and also balanced to the overall dish. The Hawaiian island poke bowl was delish!! The tuna was marinated in the traditional Hawaiian style and was super flavorful. The overall vibe was casual and laidback. I can see why it's a popular destination for Happy Hour!

The food was good, the staff were nice and it was a pretty chill vibe. Though a bit pricey, it was OK. We use their coupons in the app. In the most recent visit. My fish was burnt for one of the fried plates, and the usual poke bowl we order looked laughable. The manager tried to tell me that this is standard when I asked her nicely why my poke bowl was like this. But I've ordered this bowl multiple times; I know what it supposed to be like. It barely had any tuna in it and there was maybe a splash of the poke sauce. What was most upsetting is that I could see one of the chefs in the back looking over and laughing. A younger white lady that was handling the bowls and the frying; she wasn't on the grill. When we come to a restaurant, we are entrusting our health and wellbeing to these chefs and the cleanliness of the establishment. We spend hard earned money to feed ourselves and our families and it is why you are employed laughing chef! That was kind of the last straw for me. When I saw the chef laugh and smirk, I nicely asked for a refund and took my family somewhere else. The manager proceeded to give me a refund. I don't know if I'll ever return here.

They also had all-day Happy Hour deals on Wednesdays. Loved the decor of this restaurant, just an incredibly cool vibe with elaborate Japanese-Mexican fusion art, neon, and even a huge rainbow color-changing tree in the middle of the dining room. We had calamari, corn ribs, steak tacos, king roll, dragon roll, pork belly bowl, and everything was well-cooked and tasty. The hot sauce they give is hot, fair warning! The dishes are complex with lots of varied flavors, which is a good thing because it's not just simple and boring, but it does take time to read the menu carefully. That's probably on us, lol. We visited on a weekday evening for dinner and found that the restaurant had largely retained the same look and layout from its days as TAPS. The restaurant was nearly empty, with only a couple of other occupied tables during our visit. While the menu offered a variety of options, it looked limited and, more importantly, significantly overpriced. Signature rolls ranged from $24 to $26, and even a simple pork-and-rice dish was priced at $25. We ordered the Chicken Tequila Cream Pasta, the Dragon Roll, and two fish tacos. Unfortunately, this is where the experience took a disappointing turn. The Dragon Roll, despite its premium price, looked very basic, consisting mostly of rice with very little filling. The quality and presentation reminded me of sushi from a grocery store counter. The Chicken Tequila Cream Pasta was essentially chicken Alfredo with red bell peppers, served with a slice of basic buttered toast. The fish tacos were another letdown. For $16, the plate included only two small tacos with no rice, beans, or side dishes, just the tacos themselves. To make the experience even more unpleasant, there were no complimentary appetizers, such as bread or edamame, to enjoy while waiting for the meal. The food overall was underwhelming and did not justify the prices being charged. The one bright spot was the service, which was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Overall, Geisha failed to deliver the quality or value its prices suggest. Save yourself the time and money and visit virtually any other restaurant in downtown Brea instead. You'll thank me later.
