Went to dinner Friday night. Great location, enjoyed the band playing outside as we ate. Service was good and waitstaff very nice. The sausage hot honey bar pizza was delicious. Our salads mediocre. My Caesar w grilled chicken was disappointing. Dry tasteless chicken, Caesar dressing also had no flavor and cheese was powdery and not shaved Parmesan. Bland all the way around. My husband's salad had the same dry chicken. He said the arugula tasted like dirt as if it wasn't rinsed. Fresh mango on the salad was the best part. Overpriced for quality . $85 dinner for what? Really wanted to love this place, the location and ambiance are great. Service started rough (we waited over 20 minutes before anyone came to our table), but once our waitress arrived, she was sweet and attentive. This place is beautiful. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. I ordered a margarita, which tasted like it was 1/4 tequila and 3/4 lime juice, it was undrinkable. My lovely date had a beer that tasted like it came from a dirty draft line. The food was overcooked and lacked any seasoning. The most frustrating thing was when the bartender came over and saw a full drink, and two plates that were barely touched, and didn't think to ask if everything was okay. Simply replacing my drink would've been enough, but that was a step too far for them I suppose. I've visited this establishment twice. The first time was an exceptional experience with excellent service and delicious food. During my second visit, I sat at the bar and had a specific request regarding my meal. I wanted the chicken and waffles served separately rather than as a sandwich. When I made this request, the chef or kitchen staff ignored it entirely. On my first visit, they successfully accommodated this preference without any issue, so I didn't anticipate any problems this time. Unfortunately, my request was denied three times, which left me quite confused because I was still paying for my meal. The bartender was sympathetic and kindly offered to remove the item from my bill. He responded the game was practically over as we were losing 7 to 0 in the 6th inning so it's practically over anyway and never changed the channel for me! Outdoor seating was first come first serve but didn't have any issues getting it even though it was a gorgeous day The food was alright. The waitress was accommodating to our requests. The refreshing ocean breeze while seated by the open windows at the Beth made for an ideal spot on a sweltering summer afternoon. Mango salsa complemented the blackened haddock tacos nicely. The falafel naanwich was a unique twist on the traditional sandwich; the thick, warm naan held up better than typical wraps. The decadent dark chocolate cake with an added scoop of vanilla ice cream was the pièce de rèsistance. We waited quite a while for our food and dessert and the Americano coffee was cold. After a terrible dining experience where my family melted in the heat despite numerous tables in the shade and inside that were available but not offered despite our asking,and the drinks were diluted because the ice melted instantly. I received an apology from an owner and that was it. Having been in the food industry for many years I was shocked that the supervisor did not take care of the bill and frankly, offer for us to return on the house. Oh how charming! I love the way they redid the place. The decor is very modern and inviting. Lots of trees/plants everywhere. Just great vibes all around! My husband and I sat at the bar and ordered the mussels and clam chowder to share. The mussels were amazing!! A huge portion size served in such a flavorful broth with an ample amount of bread slices to soak up said delicious broth - I could have drank it alone, that's how good it was! The clam chowder was served in a cup and was a smaller portion size than expected, however it was loaded with clams. It was also more on the thin/soupy side for chowder, but that's ok! This is my 2nd time here. My first time was an over 1 year ago. That's was a great experience a d why I decided to come back again. Completely different experience this time around. I sat at the bar near the service well with 2 bartenders on. One clearly very pregnant. I smiled at her and received a return look like I was bothering her. She gave me the drink & food menus and she walked away to tend to the drink tickets coming in. I sat here for a bit before the other bartender asked me what I wanted to drink. I order a bottled beer and a club soda. She never asked me if I was ready to order, she just walked away. I sat with my drinks for a little bit and had to stop her to ask her if I could order some food. She looked at me like it was a surprise. I places my order, cheeseburger, mw, I asked her what else came on it, how is it dressed? Lettuce & tomato she said. She placed my order and was never asked again from either bartender if I needed anything, another beer. A older couple comes in, they order their food, full dinners. They get their food and are finished before I even got my burger. While waiting, a young man comes by and asks me if I'm waiting for food. I looked at him a little confused as I have no idea who he is. We confirm that it's a cheeseburger I'm waiting for and he said ok I'll be right back. The other bartender leaves. Still waiting for my food, my beer glass is empty. No offer if I would like another. My food finally comes, picture attached. I waited all this time for this? Looks like they threw it together in a hurry. The bartender finally comes over and asks me if I want another drink. I tell her I'm fine. She comes back again a short time after and said "if you want to order another drink or dessert, it's in the house. Another minute or two goes by and she says we're taking it off the bill. I thank her. Listen, I completely understand and feel for her as she is pregnant. That's why I smiled at her when I arrived. I get it suck's having to work while being pregnant and on your feet. The chicken wings app which we did like had been changed to a Thai glaze and still served with blue cheese dressing and then the mussels arrived. What a delightful surprise! We had an excellent Saturday night dinner experience here. The food exceeded my expectations (largely based on reviews)-- the burrata was surprisingly tender and the bread it came with was fluffy. My fish tacos were fantastic and much more full than the usual fish taco these days. The drinks were amazing! I forgot what we had but it was something w peach vodka. I'd been to the Beth once before and vaguely remembered being underwhelmed...but this week I was in the area and it was late so I figured it was worth another try I am a big believer in the "inverse view law" which says, the better the view the worse the food, and I'm happy to say that the Beth is the exception. Really really good. We had 3 entrees, a burger, a clam chowder and salad, and the poke nachos. All 3 were excellent. The burger had a nice char and was cooked perfectly. The chowder had a great "clam to potato" ratio and the soup itself was nice and thick. The poke nachos were the best entree of the bunch. They were on a bed of wontons, with nice fresh tuna, seaweed salad and some sort of a flavored mayo striped across the top. The mayo was delicious but there was a bit too much. We asked to sit outside but got put in direct sunlight when we wanted shade. The service was very good, the waitress very friendly. Too many boats but lovely scenic view. I ordered the vegan salad and it was fresh but not too much flavor, my spritz drink tasted like watered down bubble gum water. There was more ice than martini in my friends drink. A girlfriend and I visited The Beth for lunch and cocktails. Josh was our awesome waiter. We started with the Curried Butternut Squash Soup and ordered the spinach and artichoke dip - both were so delicious. I ordered the steak frites with truffle fries and my friend enjoyed the scallops. Both dishes were cooked perfectly. We skipped dessert (full) and enjoyed an additional Blood Orange Cosmopolitan (we had two each so yummy!). On our way out, the team was nice enough to take our picture in the cool wicker chairs they have at their entryway. We could have made an afternoon out of sitting in those chairs! So comfy and cool. The first time that we came to this restaurant was right when they opened and everything was superb, except for the service. I am definitely one to always go back a second time to try it again. We went on a Friday evening for just an after dinner drink and it was great. Our bartender was super attentive and helpful and made me the perfect pistachio martini. My husband had one of their cocktails with ginger beer, which was also very good. They do Live music on Saturday nights which sounded like something that we both would enjoy so I know I will be returning. And, the menu looked delicious as well since some of the dishes passed our eye and I kept on asking "what's that?" So I look forward to having dinner there and listening to music. Cheers!! read more

Got a bottle of Fleur de Mer which is my favorite rose but wish they had it a little cold. Yesterday (Friday) we had reserved five tables for a company outing and everything was fine until the very end. We pre-booked the tables and had a buffet in a separate room off the bar. Now it's 4:50pm and four of us left and I go to order another drink for three of us and the waitress tells us "we need to flip the table" so if you want another drink you can sit at the bar. The restaurant was empty so our one remaining table was not needed. We just spent $1500 on the tab with a built in 20% tip and then tipped the waitress another $50. So rude and not accommodating !! I'll be going in today to speak to the manager. We will never spent another nickel in this place and will spread the word to all of our friends on the South Shore. Trident here we come !! read more

Was very excited about going to a high school reunion at the Beth, as I just moved back to the area and had not been in yet. When our massive group overstayed, management was polite but obviously the manager on duty was not in a pleasant state of mind. He moved the satellite bar while saying "MOVE" to guests unknowingly in the way, while bar tools fell off and into his pathway, causing him to drag the satellite bar the rest of the way, causing a huge scene. He had us all come out into the main restaurant which was very quiet, and only had one bartender on that I could see. At 11:30pm the lights went up and since there was no music on, I couldn't tell exactly what was happening, but assumed it must be last call. A short while later the manager yelled to our remaining guests, "everyone out, please leave!" and I directly said to him "thanks for being so warm about it..." because I've worked in this industry for the better part of 20 years and have never been so rude to a group of 30 people still wanting to buy drinks. Shocking that they would cut off the people bringing in the most revenue, due to wanting to leave work, on a Saturday night. I'm 38 and if my bosses say "you're staying open because a party of 30 is coming in" at 1am, that's what I do. The ambiance was dim and relaxing and the decor was inviting. The food was so so. I ordered the fish and chips, a friend ordered the wings and Brussel sprouts. The batter on the fish was a bit tasty, but they served it on a plate lined with paper. As I was cutting into the fish I realized the paper was dissolving and stuck to the piece of fish I was about to eat. The fish and chips overall were ok, but I've had better. The wings were a bit soggy, I'm not sure who likes their chicken skin like that. The Brussel sprouts were a bit crispy and a bit sweet, they were delicious. As far as the service went, our server was nice but wasn't very attentive. There were a few times our drinks were empty or someone needed something for their meal and the waitress was nowhere to be found. And one last thing...they had 2 items on the menu that we tried ordering only to find out they have been "taken off the menu". In that case, take it off the menu then.
