This place has a special sandwich has a special sandwich for everyone, I'll have one of everything. Unique ingredients, creative sandies. Did I mention they have lobster sliders? We just went to 5 south main for the first time and we were blown away. This place is adorable and so wholesome and hearty. It's a little English sunshine lit sandie shop with love baked into every nook and cranny. And there are a lot of nooks in this little large windowed haven to steal away in. We were waited on by Mary who was a joy and a pleasure to converse with. She was extremely friendly and easy to talk to and made us feel at home. The service here is excellent. I was even able to meet the chef to give him compliments. Most importantly, the food was on another level good. The sandwiches are perfectly constructed and melted together with all of the right melty ingredients that make them perfect handhelds. The ingredients are generously portioned and fresh. Flavor and creativity are clearly priorities here. The food is reasonable priced as the portions are huge. The pickles may be my favorite. Needless to say, we'll be back for some of their hearty, healthy, delicious soup and sandwiches to complement, love this place so much.

I have walked/driven past this spot so many times on the way to French Memories. If I wanted something for breakfast or lunch in Cohasset center, I had always felt that FM would get the job done; and it did. Plus I had this feeling that 5 South was just another one of their mediocre spots that can overcharge in a rich town. A restaurant like that just relied on its cutesy look to get you in the door and the food was just pedestrian. However, I wanted something different one day and decided to go against instincts. Probably a wrong decision... I came for lunch and service seemed somewhat cluster you-know-what. It took a while for a waitress to get to me, and yet the staff wasn't totally overwhelmed. There were a couple of clean small tables yet the waitress decided to make me wait for an unclean table to be cleared up and have me sit at that just cleared table. Puzzling. I ordered the Three Layer Turkey Club, and while I did get a pretty sizable sandwich, the picture on the restaurant's website is greatly exaggerated. You do get a lot of turkey and nominal amount of bacon. To the sandwich's "credit", the roof of my mouth was getting a good scratching from toasted bread and struggling to fit the sandwich into my mouth. However, size aside, the sandwich wasn't spectacular and was merely passable. The price point and lack of sides disappointed the most. For $9, you only get the sandwich. You won't get potato chips, salad, or anything on the side. All you get is a paltry slice of orange. I don't even recall having a refill on water. The floor of the restaurant was pretty atrocious, as I could see food and dust collecting around me. If you need lunch in Cohasset center, just go to French Memories instead.

The food was very good, quality was top notch. The service was a little lack luster. It was a busy Saturday morning so it's understandable, but 3 wait staff looked at us and did not greet us or say anything. We felt uncomfortable waiting to be seated for about 5 minutes without greeting. Could be brought up quite a few notches by friendly service, removing the high chairs from touching the tables and moving to the back, and adding some interesting decor on the walls. Food is fantastic, we are full and happy.

A charming little restaurant with a killer lobster roll! Wish they still served breakfast but whatever they have or do is first class.

About 25 tables, but not tightly packed. Felt like an Italian restaurant where you might just share with the table nearest you. I could order nearly anything on the menu. Awesome and terrible with a time crunch! We started with the focaccia bread, which was delicious. We saved some and I'm eating it now. Then it was Splitsville: I mean we split a salad, bolognese and chicken parm. Garden/House Salad was described as fresh, what the kitchen could get, flavorful and colorful. It was all those things and didn't disappoint. Chicken parm was not fried. Was Bell & Evans chicken breast not beat to hell. Was plump, juicy and flavorful. Maybe the best I've ever had. Bolognese was equally good. I'm glad we split everything so we could each try a number of different options. We were out on time and never felt rushed if you can believe it. Excellent service and pacing to go with the excellent food.

Of everything my daughter missed, there was one dish she talked about more than any other: the Penne Gorgonzola at Carmelina's. Not friends. Not the Red Sox. Not even Boston itself. The penne. We recently returned to work the Feast of Saint Joseph, and before we unpacked, before we did anything else, our first meal had to be at Carmelina's. The look on my daughter's face after that first bite was worth the trip. She ordered her long-awaited Penne Gorgonzola. I stuck with my longtime favorite, the Brasato. Then the friend we brought along ordered the Bolognese Fettuccine, and despite repeatedly calling it "bolo-ga-knees" and bleeding my ears, accidentally introduced me to my new favorite dish on the menu. The addition of whipped ricotta completely changes the bolognese, adding a richness I never knew it needed. We finished with limoncello, a very happy daughter, and the best kind of dinner bill... ...one paid by someone else. Is there a better ending? Eight years later, Carmelina's is still my favorite restaurant in Boston and comfortably sits among my top five restaurants anywhere in the country.

Modern, clean, even sleek, but still welcoming and comfortable. The food, all seven courses, was marvelous. Bright, flavorful and fresh. The very definition of "Farm-to-Table." Not getting too specific, as the menu changes daily, but on a warm summer day beginning with a fresh salad of gorgeous greens, perfectly dressed, followed by a magnificent gazpacho. The perfect way to start a summer meal. And the following courses did not disappoint. On to the service. Clearly the owners of Ceraldi understood a great meal is about more than one thing. While the food must be the star, the staff must create the experience. And they never disappoint. Beginning with the meal tutorial by the chef, and continuing with wine information and advice from a startlingly knowledgeable server, and continuing with the rest of the very gracious "ladies of Ceraldi." Truly, this is an experience not to be missed. Provincetown's finest restaurant, by a mile.

When we arrived just before 7 the restaurant was busy not not full. Our server, as he passed our table, said he would be right with us. We waited. And waited. And patiently. Because I could see our server. He was at a table of 7 and I knew he wasn't forgetting or ignoring us. Then he was at a table of 4. Then one of 5. Then ANOTHER that appeared to be about 7 people again. He also had at least 4 two tops. I couldn't see far enough behind me to expand on that count. When he did come to us, an undisclosed amount of time later, he was kind and thorough and not at all showing the stress I'm sure he was feeling. I saw only one other server the entire time we were there and I'm sure he was taking all of the tables in the dining room we couldn't see. I'm sorry I cannot remember our servers name. Both men were bald and one was wearing glasses. Ours was the one without the spectacles. He remained busy through our meal, and we enjoyed the entire thing. Burrata with prosciutto to start, and then a Wellington to split. Both were phenomenal. The drinks were amazing, even with accommodations for one ingredient I am allergic to. At one point one of our cocktail glasses was broken accidentally by someone not at our table and it felt like the entire FOH staff (all 5 of them lol) came to help clean up and make sure everything was cool. They were all so kind and had smiles on, even though I'm sure they were still too swamped to clean up the mess. Honestly, for our very first visit I'm sure I could have been upset at the wait and complained that our server was too busy, but erring on the side of caution I prefer to presume it was either an unusually busy night or someone had called out, leaving the restaurant short -staffed. Kudos to the whole team for working together and keeping positive attitudes on the floor. We loved our experience and look forward to returning.
