The Bagel Shoppe

If you're looking for a proper NY deli with a good bagel and a lot of other options you've found it. They have an extensive menu. I counted no less than 21 different menu signs hung up for you to choose from! I just came for a bagel though and for that, I wasn't disappointed. It was good. I got the veggie cream cheese on a toasted everything bagel. I'd eat it again. (I went to Empire Bagel down the road, the other day and ordered the same thing. A toasted everything bagel with veggie cream cheese. I would say the Bagel Shoppe has a slightly better bagel, but Empire Bagel has better veggie cream cheese.) I also ordered a mochachino coffee which was just so so. I think they made it with premade chocolate milk. I wouldn't order it again. Overall, I think most people would be completely satisfied by this place with all of its options. I give it a thumbs up. As someone who worked in the restaurant industry for many years, I will note that while they moved the long line pretty fast there are glaring inefficiencies in the bagel and cash register area. It seemed to me that they were doing so many extra steps and crossing over each other more than necessary. Most people pay with a card and the credit card reader is not next to the register. Instead, it's back in the corner. So for almost every purchase, they had to walk over somewhere else to finish checking someone out, inevitably crossing over each other, and there are a lot of people behind the counter! Regarding my order, another inefficiency I saw was that they're using a standard double toaster that you would see in someone's home to toast the bagels. The toaster is up on the shelf and the woman that served me couldn't even reach the toaster. She had to grab it and tilt it forward to put the bagel in and out. With the amount of foot traffic this place gets you would think they would invest in a small industrial toaster and put it where the employees could reach it. But hey, I don't work here. I don't even live here. I may or may not have a chance to come back, but I do recommend this place. If you're looking for a good bagel, sandwiches, omelettes, premade deli, salads, cold cuts and cheese.

The staff were very helpful, patient, and friendly. The sausage egg and cheese on a bagel was awesome. Good chewy bagel. Iced coffee was good. The m&m cookie and black and white cookie tasted stale and just not enjoyable. Couldn't finish them. So bagels yes, cookies nope

I don't know what was going on today, behind the counter. There were four people behind the counter and two customers in front of me that were waiting for their food. It looked as though who ever waited on you, made the meal. Instead of having a cook who took orders and handed them off when ready. When the BEC was done, after a 15 minute. wait, I decided to eat-in. After a bite or two and not tasting or feeling the bacon I opened the sandwich and was surprised to find 2 tiny pieces (see the photo) of bacon. Were they running out of bacon, at 9:30 in the morning?! I've never had a complaint before.

Great bagels, with so many different choices for cream cheese flavors. I personally love the poppy seed rolls that come with the breakfast sandwiches. I've had the SEC, BEC, and just egg and cheese they're all good but the most filling is the sausage. The bacon egg and cheese's tend to not be filled with tons of bacon. Which is strange because if you ask for a bagel with bacon on it it's an outpouring amount of bacon on top! Maybe that's why there's a price difference. I've been coming here for years and every time coming in person is 1000x better than ordering on door dash. I don't think I'll order on DoorDash anymore everything always comes wrong or cold. For me the best option is calling my order ahead and doing pickup myself or just ordering in person. My overall favorite item is the large over sized black and white cookie I've ordered it for parties and birthdays it's always enjoyed by everyone. It's a tight fit of a little hole in the wall cafe/deli type but has a good 6-8 tables that seat 4 people each. If you go early in the morning you'll see a usual crew sitting around that are friendly and cheerful. It feels like a little neighborhood corner bodega.

Pretty good bagel spot. I came because I thought they had vegan options (vegan cream cheese) but I was mistaken. They have tons of options to fit almost any picky eater. Bagels, bagel sandwiches with a variety of cream cheese, deli meats, cheeses, salads, pastas, and much more. The menu is massive and they are busy and move fast so you kind of have to know what you want when you go in.

This is my 3rd year getting the Bagel Shoppe to cater our thanksgiving dinner! I cut into the turkey and the knife slid through the meat!! I knew right away that this dinner was going to be amazing and i was right! Turkey was flavorful and juicy! All the sides were amazing. This makes thanksgiving dinners soo good!!!

Chaos, every, single, time. Bagels are ok, service is brutal. I've been over charged several times.

After 15 minutes he finally got his food. I waited another 5 minutes before checkout my on my order. They said they were running behind on the grill. I waited another 5 minutes and they said it would be ready soon. Finally after 30 minutes of waiting I just asked for my money back. During the wait, I saw multiple other people check on their orders and that's when the staff realized they lost order tickets. My friend had ordered the rogue (braised short rib sandwich) and did not enjoy it at all, stating there was no flavor to the meat. Do not bother trying Wandering Dago. They are unorganized and even though they make it seem like a gourmet menu, the food is not good. Stay away and try any of the other good options around

From the get-go they were extremely helpful and most importantly patient. They welcomed us to their home for the tasting and meet & greet. Once we decided what we wanted to include on our menu(s), they assisted us with budgeting and logistics and even coordinated with the other vendors to ensure everything went off without a hitch. The wedding was executed perfectly. Everything was prepared behind the scenes, so well that I barely noticed their presence. The food was delicious and our menu was diverse, something for everyone. After everything was said and done, we received a custom 'welcome to the family' cutting board from Andrew and Brandon as a thank you gift. Our experience working together was as positive as it gets. I would certainly recommend their services to friends and loved ones. Thank you Wandering Dago!

Pros: We chose Natasha for a small family party to celebrate our wedding this spring. We went with…read moreher mainly because she was the first/only chef to begin our conversation by asking us what WE had in mind and letting that be the foundation for building the menu. She seemed eager to help us realize our vision rather than impose someone else's onto us. There are also four other people on the IBN team: the sous chef, whose name I forget; the bartender, for whom the same is true (maybe Aaron or Erin), and two servers: Mason and Spencer. These folks did an AMAZING job and we were both so grateful for their kindness and professionalism on the day of the event. Finally, I liked what I ate! I was happy with my day-of meal. Cons: Natasha was incredibly rude to both me and my husband in the weeks leading up to the post-wedding party. I had only spoken to her twice before the party: once when I hired her and again in February. She'd said in February that we could have a third and final call two weeks before the event. When I emailed her three weeks before the event to schedule this final call, she sounded irritated and said we'd spoken "a few days ago" (we had not; I even asked some relatives in case someone else had, but no) and she wanted to "stick to the plan" of having a call at a date a time to which we had not agreed--- only *five* days before the party. My husband reminded her that she'd said we could talk two weeks before and she eventually, reluctantly scheduled a call with us. When we call at the date and time she told us to, she does not pick up; instead, she texts us that she's in the middle of an event. All of these things are perfectly normal, human mistakes. We all get clients confused and talk to one as though they are another (like the "a few days ago" thing). We all overbook ourselves every once in a while and are unavailable after telling someone we would be. A professional would have simply apologized; instead, after I used *one sentence* of an email to express my disappointment about the missed call--- because my husband had taken off work to be available for it, so lost money for no reason--she used this as an excuse to threaten not to show up. Said she needed us to "confirm" in light of my "tone." In light of this, I decided not to speak to this person anymore unless absolutely necessary (i.e. at the party, for the sake of our guests). My husband took over talking to her, at which point we had a fun little role-reversal in which he was now the one reporting to me on a regular basis how rude Natasha was being to him. So at least I know it wasn't personal! Conclusion: If you just need to place a big food order and don't need to talk to the chef again after that, you can go with IBN and you'll probably be fine. If, however, you are planning an event of great importance to you--or just don't want to risk being treated like a burden for wanting to speak more than once with someone you're employing-- maybe look elsewhere.

Everything she prepared was super delicious and everyone loved it. She was also really easy going and a pleasure to be around. The lead up to our event day was super organized, she was very responsive and easy to work with and even had to deal with our last minute change of location and an oven that was barely working (which she didn't let impact the menu or quality of the food at all!). Highly recommend and we'll certainly be calling her again the next time we're in the area.
