A local recommended this old-school deli to me, and I wasn't disappointed. My mixed cheese hero/hoagie was huge - enough for two lunches. It was made precisely to my specifications. Very fresh roll. Don't forget to ask for the pickle on the side. I don't know whether masks etc. are required now in businesses in Beacon - perhaps it's optional, perhaps not required for fully vaccinated people. I've been coming to Mr. V's on occasion for the past year. Sandwiches are never a disappointment. Always chock-full of the meat and what ever trimmings you order. They never skimp on the meat and they've never screwed up my order, either. The beef chili is really hearty and amazingly good! The local women that operate the deli are super -friendly and quick on their feet. Mr. V's can get really busy sometimes! I have noticed some unsanitary practices from time to time, though, like the staff wiping their face with the gloves on while they keep working on the orders, or touching knobs and handles without changing their gloves. read more

The sandwiches are good. It is cash only and there's 2 tables that sit 2 people each on the inside. There are various potato chips to pick from to accompany your sandwich if you wish and some sodas and ice teas and waters in the fridge. I'm picky with my coffee so I have never tried their coffee. Very good breakfast sandwiches. Good selection of cold beverages for the thirsty. Good spot for after-school snacks. I seem to be one of the cursed few when it comes to queuing up in line. Some creep waited on the side and jumped in just as it was my turn, which was super annoying (staff took creep's side). Ended up having to wait 15 min for a measly bagel. Be careful when ordering here..review each and every aspect of your order. I called in for an italian hero...was told it would contain "ham, pepperoni, salami, provolone plus lettuce/tomato, mayo and oil&vinegar. When I got my sandwich it was horrible. I called back and asked what was in it..(looked like yellow spiced mayo to me), she explained that was italian dressing. I explained that not only had I specified oil&vinegar, but that the person who took my order CONFIRMED it would be oil&vinegar...her response? "oh we don't have oil&vinegar, only italian dressing." I told her I couldn't even eat it, it was too sweet. Not one apology or I'm sorry, nor 'bring it back we'll fix you another"...!! Jeez! $10 bucks down the tube. Awesome. Parking is tricky. They have HUGE lunch sandwiches with lots and lots meat. Breakfast Sanwiches are really good too with lots of bacon or what have you. The ladies are really nice. The 6 foot subs are the best anywhere and they can make them often on short notice. They will work with you with a complicated order. They are just the best. read more
