Service was excellent from beginning to end thanks to Jackson. He was attentive, friendly, patient, and had some great recommendations as this was a first time dining here for all three of us at the table. The ambiance was cozy/moody, quiet (without being too quiet), and comfortable. I really like the vibe inside. We sat on the left hand side as you walk in at a table, but the bar area on the other side seemed like a cool vibe over there too. We ordered the fried brussels sprouts and the whipped goat cheese to start, and both were 10/10. The goat cheese was my favorite because it had the coolest almost marshmellow-y texture to it and was just divine. Goat cheese, pistachio and honey always pair so nicely together, and this dish was no exception. The Strawberry Fields cocktail was delicious and exactly as expected based on the description. The rose water was a nice addition! As my main dish, I went with the chicken schnitzel which was already really tasty. A big portion, and cooked perfectly so that it was extra crispy on the outside but still juicy on the inside. A favorite dish of mine to order anytime I see it on the menu, and this one definitely ranks as top 5 schnitzels I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. This would be a great date night spot so I definitely plan to come back soon!

I'm going to give this restaurant, bar 5 stars although my visit was short. I sat at the bar, enjoyed a cocktail and two glasses of wine and a delicious salad. Service was good. Salad was very fresh and tasty. I appreciated the interior. It was clean, well styled and the bathrooms were even very clean and nice. I wish I could have stayed for the jazz this evening (Sunday), but I had tickets to something else.

The food here is really good. I especially loved the beef empanadas, they brought me back from Sunday's happy hour because they were just that good. My server that day was Jackson, a young, pleasant man who was very attentive and welcoming. I returned again today (Tuesday) after a long day of work, specifically craving those empanadas. Unfortunately, my experience today was different. I don't remember my waitress's name, but she was not as welcoming, inviting, or attentive. I ordered sparkling water but received still water, which made me feel that attention to detail was lacking. I didn't make a fuss because I simply wanted to enjoy my dinner. I started with a salad, and by the time I decided to order an entrée, I was informed that the kitchen was already closed. This was disappointing, especially since I returned looking forward to another great experience like the one I had on Sunday.

This neighborhood restaurant is super convenient. Today we tried steak, salmon, shrimp skewers, and cocktails, and everything tastes great! Highly recommend if you live in the area or nearby apartments!

Steak and frites

We had a nice evening at aThe Ashford! We had steak and frites and chicken schnitzel - both very very good. The ambiance and the service was also nice.

Delicious! We had a dinner reservation for a party of 4 for 6:45 pm on Friday, 2/3/23. We made the reservation on Seated, an app where you earn money back on meals at certain restaurants (use my code erin2109 and we both get $10!). We got 3 appetizers between the 4 of us and we each got an entree. Here's what we got: - Fondue ($20): Delicious, but $20 is very pricey. - House-Made Ricotta ($12): Good, but it only came with 3 pieces of bread...why not 4? - Italian Meatball ($14): Good! - Salmon ($32): Suuuper good. I got the ravioli, but wish I had gotten the salmon. - Bistro Filet ($36): My friends said they liked this! - Winter Squash-Ricotta Ravioli ($28): Good, but didn't come with that much ravioli. Definitely pricey. But if you use Seated, you get a percentage off your meal! We would go back!

So this is in a little area that has a lot of stuff around it so you can actually come here and then walk around and still bar hop or restaurant hop or whatever you're going to do. I only came for drinks, and of course that you know when the rest of my reviews, I'm only here for the old-fashions. Your fashions that they had, was pretty solid. I have no complaints. It was grown and it was very strong. The restaurant itself has an indoor and outdoor situation that you can actually go ahead and sit at. If it's a nice day, why would you want to sit outside! But the whole block is full of things like this that have patio areas. I fully support that! The service was okay. We sat down but actually at the wait for a while to give somebody to take her order. It wasn't the end of the world but I feel like you saw us and didn't want to come over and just agree us? That kind of sucks a little bit. But once we got that going and got the ball rolling, it was actually okay. It's not like it was full, but again it's not the end of the world. When I come back? I sure would. It's a neighborhood bar so I definitely would. But maybe I wouldn't sit where I sat so I guess I was faster.

Good food and extremely good dessert but probably the worst service I've ever had at a restaurant in my entire life. When I arrived it was not very busy and I was not greeted by a server at all. It took about 10 min for a sever to acknowledge me and then another 10 min for them to even take my order. I waited over 40 min for them to bring me a Caesar Salad. In total, spent about 2 hours there just trying to order, eat, and get my bill and pay. There were 4 couples sitting outside who ended up giving up and leaving since they were never served beyond getting menus and water.

Ask the Community - The Ashford

Is there parking available?

Yes! Parking is available on the street in front of the restaurant as well as behind the complex in a large parking lot. If that is full, there is parking on the second level of the parking deck behind the complex.

I opted to park at the Wal-Mart and wasn't as familiar with the trail so I took the street route. Well-light and populated for safe crossing. The venue is very open and was relatively empty since we arrived shortly after it opened. I love the indoor seating concept with plenty of couches, movable chairs, tables near the open-area space and smaller sections for 2-4 people tucked away along the wall. The DJ was already doing his thing and the bartenders remained busy. As someone who wasn't interested in the drinks, I appreciate that there was a self-serve water cooler in the center of the room. The Jenga and jumbo Uno cards were a hit!!!! It was so nice to have these options available. And as others mentioned, the large screen was playing a classic movie - which we could still see from inside. I didn't stay long and this was a Sunday night but the parking lot was much busier when I left. I imagine the outdoor space gets crowded later in the evening as well. The DJ was just okay - not my cup of tea - but folks seemed to be enjoying themselves. I can definitely see why this place is popular. Although parking is less than desirable, it is not unreasonable. The venue is well-lit and easy to move around. The crowd was diverse, with various ages and backgrounds represented. And depending on the DJ, this would be a great place for meeting with friends, date night or just zoning out to some wonderful music ... especially on a beautiful night. If you're in the mood for something different AND don't mind the trek to Chamblee, check it out.

The second I saw it, I didn't care about the price -- I knew I wanted it, so I planned us a date night. When we arrived, there was a birthday party going on, and I asked the maître d' if they were limiting seating because of the event. He didn't quite understand me, so my fiancée just asked for a table for two, and we were seated quickly. The setup was nice, although I'm personally not a fan of pre-set plates and glasses on tables (you never know how long they've been sitting there). Still, our server was fantastic -- attentive, helpful, and made the night smooth. We came for the famous Piraye Kebab Tray. At first, we were looking at the $165 option (Chef Tray + 1 Meze Board + Shepherd Salad + 4 Orders of Piraye Kebab with rice, all baked inside the dough). When we mentioned the price, our server kindly told us about the smaller 2-order option for $85 -- perfect! And let me tell you, Lord above, when I say I would do some things to eat this food again... words cannot describe how incredible it was. It has been three days since, and I'm still thinking about it. I even posted it on my stories, and over 10 people have messaged me asking about it. Chef Tray: Overflowing with juicy, flavorful meat, perfectly seasoned rice with chickpeas (I swear it was made with veal stock), and that roasted pepper and cheese-stuffed dough on top -- divine. Meze Board: The hummus was creamy and rich, paired perfectly with fresh pita. Shepherd Salad: Fresh, crisp, and balanced. My only small regret was that our server misunderstood when we asked for the dough crust to-go -- I realized the next day it wasn't packed up. Honestly though, I couldn't even be upset, because the food was just that good. For drinks and dessert: Turkish Coffee - small but strong, beautifully presented with a piece of Turkish delight on the side that was everything I had ever imagined a Turkish sweet to be: chewy, fragrant, and delicately sweet. Künefe - a dream come true! A warm, crunchy pastry with gooey melted cheese inside, topped with sweet syrup and pistachios. It was rich, nutty, and sweet without being overwhelming -- the perfect ending. Turkish Martini - decent, but not nearly as memorable as the food. All together, including tip, it was about $140. For the amount and quality of food, the attentive service, and the one-of-a-kind experience, it was absolutely worth every single cent. Piraye Kitchen isn't just dinner -- it's an experience. This is a must-try-before-you-die type of place. Oh, and happy birthday, Amy!

This trip was actually our first time visiting without him so we were a little lost about what to do next. LOL. We had gone to a cafe earlier in the day but it was still too early for dinner so we kept searching for something interesting to do. That's when my husband found Distillery of Modern Art. I wasn't really in the mood for drinking during the day so I wasn't sure at first but I'm so glad we went! We had never heard of a combination of a distillery and an art gallery before which immediately caught our attention. It looked like the space is used for a variety of events as well. Since we visited during Mother's Day weekend, there was a flower arrangement workshop happening in one of the rooms when we arrived. The bar area was very spacious with plenty of seating and since it was our first visit, we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain the different liquors they produce. My husband sampled their rye whiskey, gin, and Amaro Peach. I'm usually not much of a gin fan but theirs was exceptionally smooth and I actually enjoyed it. Amaro tends to be quite bitter but their Amaro Peach had a really nice balance of bitterness and sweetness. I ordered the Ocean Eyes cocktail which features their Amaro Peach and it was excellent. The bartender also made his own special version of a classic cocktail for my husband (I forgot the name!) and he really enjoyed it. What stood out most was how friendly and passionate the bartender was. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does and honestly, he made the experience even more enjoyable for us. We had such a great visit that my husband ended up bringing home bottles of their gin and Amaro Peach. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Atlanta!
