I was really impressed with the Ashford. The fact that they have been open less than a week was not apparent! Note that the bar opens at 4 on Friday and Saturday, but the kitchen is not open until 5pm. The newly renovated space is very appealing, clean open and airy. The bar stools are comfortable and the bar is wide enough for dining. I enjoyed a Hemingway Daiquiri, the Fondue, and the Duck Bao. All were exceptional. The drink is served in a well-sized coupe and the flavors are nuanced. The fondue is fantastic! Served with a walnut and fruit bread, the cheese is a warmed Brie type cheese. I even ate half the pears and I don't like pears! I had to ask for the Duck Bao because they were not on the menu, but a limited amount were available and worth the special order: A barbecued tender duck breast meat on a perfectly steamed bao bun with micro greens. We were there at 5:00 on Saturday and I was less than impressed. There was a man standing near the food window, looked to be a manager, and I'm not sure if he was having a stroke or extremely intoxicated. I was cringing the entire time I was seated. Overall, it was a decent restaurant with a really nice ambiance. I like the contemporary restaurant design and the simple menus. Food was delicious, and I really enjoyed the flavors to the main dishes. The mint chicken was really delicious. I could tell they put a lot of time into the presentation and I was really impressed. However, the service was not the best. I may chalk this up to being a new restaurant that doesn't have enough staff/ servers. For example, after the appetizers and salads they took away our silverware. Not an issue, but they did not put out new silverware until 20-25 minutes later. In that time, the main course came out, but we did not have our silver aware, so we sat there for at least 5 to 10 minutes just staring at the dishes. Our server did not return in that period to see how we were doing. I don't think it was intentional just a busy weekend evening rush. Like I said, I will chalk it up to it being a new restaurant and its understaffed. I may give it another chance but it will have to be in a few months to ensure they hire more servers. read more

So sad about this! I was really looking forward to the Ashford and loved having a cocktail at pour. I was warned not to go, but has to make the call for myself! My girlfriends and I went for a dinner celebration and the staff was very friendly. Our server in particular was very kind but that was about the best part. We ordered drinks and wanted food. The prices were insane considering the portion sizes on the tables around us. We ordered the fondue (thinking about quantity for the table) the fondue was good, however came with a small cup of pears and a bread. We asked our server for more bread to finish the fondue and she said "I am so sorry the Chef told us we are not allowed to ask for anything extra for your plates".... So now we are sitting there with a half eaten $20 fondue debating if we should eat it with a fork?? Makes no sense. In addition, they were super busy this night - it was about two weeks or so after opening and we were missing a water glass at the table. When we asked if we could have another glass of water our waitress responded: " I can't right now, we are out of water glasses" meanwhile behind The bar, the shelves are FULL of low ball glasses! I asked her if we could just use one of those, she responded "we are not allowed." Instead, we shared water cups, and our waitress eventually filled her empty champagne flute with water... truly I laughed at this point. I hope the ashford takes little steps to change or else I am afraid much of the community will not be back, except for a cocktail! Kudos to our waitress though. Used to come here when this was Pour and wanted to give the new place a try. Never ate at pour and was hoping the food had improved. It hasn't. We tried the fondue, onion dip and meatball. Relatively new place in Brookhaven. Turned up on a whim on Saturday night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Easy to park in the deck behind the Dresden complex and a fairly easy menu to understand. The menu and food was horrible. There are so few options and the prices are just stupid. One small meatball for $14. We ordered 5 things and left famished. No bread, crackers, anything. Even the hummus doesn't come with anything but a few sparse veggies and one was a soggy pickle. The atmosphere isn't bad but they really need to think about their menu. read more

I had a very pleasant experience here. The service was prompt and polite. I had the short rib and the onion dip. The lemon curd dessert was really great. The meatball was enjoyed by my partner and was extremely good as well. Definitely will come again and thanks to the staff. read more

The Ashford did not disappoint. The ambience/atmosphere has a good vibe. The service was outstanding and the food and drinks came out quickly after we ordered. This usually doesn't happen at a new restaurant after being open for just a couple of days. Our server Eli was well trained and knew the menu well. Started with the Pear and Nut bread with Fondue appetizer and the salmon dip. Both were excellent. The Honey Rose Margarita is a must try. The Duck boa buns are worth the trip all by themselves. Had the beef tenderloin for my entree. The cut of beef was excellent and it was cooked perfectly. Great flavor. The Ashford is a great addition to the Dresden/Brookhaven area. Loved this restaurant! We ate there this weekend with a party of six and had a great experience. They have been open roughly a month and a half, and are hitting their stride. We enjoyed both the food and the service. As a group we shared probably 2/3 of the tasting dishes and every one of them were really good (even the smoked beets ). The vibe of the service team was incredibly friendly all around. As other reviews have noted, portions are small which makes the restaurant "expensive"--but that diminishes focus on the quality of the food. The quality was exceptional-- the cheese plate being a great example. At any rate, we loved it. read more

I recently discovered The Ashford and am very excited as I live in the neighborhood. I'm a bar person and find that space very comfortable. The food has always been great. I miss the happy hour bar food though, but that hasn't deterred me too much from dropping in. The staff there is professional and personable. Loved the food - was transported to the best of countryside dining in Europe with each bite! My favorite was the ricotta with fava bean/olive spread w/ the most delicious sourdough toasted bread. Was a heavenly dish - so fresh and best ingredients. Cheese fondue was best I've had - pears were delish with it. The olives and almonds were fabulous, full of flavor and again felt like I was in Spain at a tapas bar. The homemade pasta was a unique, flavor-filled creation I would recommend. It is clear they are focusing on quality ingredients and the unique food creations will hook you. The energy was vibrant and our waitress was excellent. Simply one of the better dining experiences anywhere in ATL. Brookhaven is lucky to have them and their neighboring restaurants that are all good, but The Ashford offers professional, yet casual services married with great cocktails and stunning food. The plating is eye catching, and the cooking and flavors invite that euphoric reaction of closing one's eyes for at least an extended blink and slow nod of approval. Bravo Ashford team. This was my first time here since it was Pour. It was a total change over in a great way. Our server Steve was fabulous. So on it. And so was everyone checking on our table. The Vidalia onion dip was a frickin' home run. I am a huge fan. But we ate all around the app menu and were very happy. Had the salmon dip, tuna tartare and bao buns too. They were all delish and I'd recommend to anyone. My husband and I split the steak for dinner and the whole experience was fab. Love this as a new Brookhaven 'hood spot. read more
