Sandwich had a nice sized piece of chicken fried with sauce and lettuce and tomato. How are the chips were not my favorite and I did not eat them. They needed some seasoning or something. Come here for seasonal housecrafted cocktails, indoor/outdoor seating, ZenTea iced tea, the Yum Yum Cauliflower, Salmon BLT, house burger, shrimp burger, Sloppy Joe with poblanos, and house potato chips. I'd skip the salad, looks fresh but doesn't ring my bell flavorwise. Food hits the table within minutes of ordering, servers are chill and kind, and you can settle when you order or run a tab. Every now and then there can be a line 4-deep to order, but it moves fast. Great place for all ages, but love coming here without the kids - plus live music on weekends, sometimes featuring originals and lead-singing by staff. read more

We found a spot to park in their lot. When you walk in, it seems small, as there's a bar and a few tables in the front room, but when you look past the door, you see a large room where the bar continues with big tables and even an outside area. They even have a nice fire pit outside. It's March madness time, and they have plenty of TVs to show the games. We stopped in to watch Tennessee play while we ate. You order at the bar and then take a number to your table. I got a margarita, and my husband got the mule, and both were good. I might have a beautiful flower in it. Our food came out fast. We got the salmon sandwich with fries and the chicken sandwich with the side salad. We did not know that the fries were waffle and seasoned. It was a very nice surprise. And their ranch dressing seems homemade, but it was terrific. I'm a dipper, so I dipped my fries in the ranch dressing. The chicken sandwich was good, but the salmon sandwich was phenomenal. In food service, mutual respect should be standard -- unfortunately, that was not the case here. Casey's rude and dismissive attitude was unacceptable. Initially, he confronted our group about cleaning up our dog waste. Knowing that I had recently picked up my dog's waste, I was not convinced he was referring to me. Casey then told my group, "Ok, I'll just check the cameras, then." When he returned, he confirmed that I had picked up only some, not all, of the waste. He said, "Yeah, that was YOUR dog." I immediately apologized and told him that I fully believed I had cleaned it up. He aggressively responded with, "That's not my responsibility. Look better." While I understand the importance of keeping the premises clean, the delivery of this message was unnecessarily confrontational and dismissive. A more professional and respectful approach would have resolved the matter without tension. In addition, our group happened to be the only visibly diverse party in this space. Combined with the aggressive tone directed toward me -- as a woman and a minority -- the interaction felt especially uncomfortable and out of place in what should have been a welcoming environment. Treating paying customers -- especially a large group of over 20 people -- with such disrespect is a quick way to lose both business and reputation. No matter the business, everyone is entitled to respect and dignity. That being said, we will not be returning, and I would caution others to consider how management treats guests before choosing this place. read more

The Friday before last I walked into Bluetop with a buddy of mine and proceeded to the open backyard. The band was rockin' we found a couple of nicely placed Adirondack chairs (perfect for a couple of old guys) and parked it there. Little did we know that these were actually invisibility chairs! We sat and watched the server in our station walk back and forth in front of us 2-3 times never looking at us once. Not a glance. My buddy finally got up and went and ordered drinks at the bar. This is a great casual spot to meet friends, and our book club has met here a couple times. The service is not the friendliest by any means, but they get the job done. The space is nice, and the patio is great if the weather is conducive. I loved the indie rock playlist on their stereo. There's a good beer and cocktail selection, but I just had the chicken tinga tacos when I went. I think the tacos were really good for bar food, and the fries are Arbys-style curly fries - delicious. Lots of people bring their dogs (they're allowed inside too) and babies to this place, so it felt very community-friendly. read more

It took a while to get the food for some reason, I mean just for a couple of burgers, but it wasn't the end of the world. They have outdoor patio seating that share with other restaurants on that block, so that's pretty cool. They got TVs if you want TVs to watch a couple of games or whatever the case may be. I was quietly sitting in the corner reading, with my dog peacefully sleeping beside me, when a staff member came over and abruptly told me to leave. This is such a cute restaurant located in the Chamblee Square. I loved the atmosphere. I like that you walk up to the bar to order vs having to be under pressure with a server coming up every few minutes. I went to have a leisure hangout with a friend and was catching up so it was perfect for that. We got to talk with no interruptions. I was excited to try the fried pickles. While the batter was nice and crispy I was a little underwhelmed with the flavor. I also tried one of the signature burgers, which was great (not pictured). We normally go here to watch games, we came early today since it was the falcons season opener. Throughout the day the service seemed fine. We had brought our dog and he had pooped on the turf. We had thought we picked it all up but the manager came along and notated that all of it was not picked up. He even notated that he checked the cameras and was able to prove that it was us. Matter of the fact was that we tried to our best to get it all but still was disrespected and was treated poorly. After approaching KC and expressing our concerns, he expressed he was apologetic but did not never apologize how he treated who he spoke to in the beginning. All of the servers were polite and friendly and all of our orders were correct as we had many substitutions. We ordered the cauliflower appetizer which was delicious. Shrimp nacho appetizer was also very good and huge! The salmon blt was ok, but the salmon was overcooked. The house made chips were good. Margaritas were a little on the sweet side, but ok. Fun atmosphere with a live band on a Sunday afternoon with seating in and outdoors. You can also bring your dog. First time guest at Bluetop Chamblee. Upon arrival the staff was friendly. Our food came out VERY quickly. However, the music was so loud (and this was at 1:00 in the afternoon) that we could not hear each other at our table. My friend who had the burger said it was very good. The rest of us had food that was overcooked. My shrimp burger, while seasoned well, was so crunchy from overcooking. My friends who ordered wings said they were dry from being overcooked. Food presentation is nice. I'm giving 3 stars because of the taste of the food. It is nothing special unfortunately. My burger patty was cooked but it was lacking flavor; could be seasoned more. This is a place in my neighborhood I've been meaning to try. In reading up on it in advance, I wasn't expecting anything mind blowing, and that turned out to the the case. First off, I will say the atmosphere is good. On a warm autumn day, the garage doors separating the patio from the interior were up, and it has a cool vibe. The interior is fairly minimalist, square wooden tables, simple chairs, paper towels. Plus a couple of bars. The shrimp burger intrigued me, as I had never had one before. I subbed out the jalapeño bun (which isn't listed on the menu, and I only knew about from reviews) for a brioche. I also asked for fries rather than chips. Along with that, I ordered a stein of their Oktoberfest beer - a Marzen, I assume, from a local brewery. Nothing was bad, but nothing was special. The fries were well cooked, crispy, but completely unseasoned. I didn't even taste salt, and they didn't have shakers on my table, or most tables that I could see. The burger - granted, having been somewhat compromised due to the change of bun, bland. The beer was fine. I didn't finish it. All in all, this cost $30 for a relatively modest meal. Like, if it had cost $20, I'd be a bit more forgiving of the imperfections. I'm sure this is a nice place for drinks, during the warmer months, but I'd recommend eating elsewhere, as there are plenty of options. read more

They have both indoor and outdoor seating but the outdoor space is really cool and the perfect place to grab a drink with some friends! It wasn't very busy when we came (it was a Thursday at 12:30pm) so there was plenty of seating available. We got the French dip and the chipotle chicken sandwich. My mother and I were debating a nice restaurant that I could bring my friend to for her birthday brunch. My mother mentioned this place, saying she frequents the location regularly, and that it has had good service and food in her previous experiences. However I did not get to experience the "good times" she and her friends were used to. The service was slow. Our waitress (who made us stand and wait for 15 minutes before taking our order) was not able to change her poor attitude throughout the meal. We ordered a sweet tea, coke and lemonade (another 15 minute wait) and received 1 out of the 3 drinks as ordered. The rest were sent back and corrected after resistance from our same server. Next we ordered the Bluetop Nachos and the Wings. First out was our nachos, delivered to our table Luke warm at best, and which apparently include surprise ingredients: human hair. Unfortunately, said surprise ingredients were not noticed until my friend had already begun eating. The wings were then brought out and slammed onto our table in an aggressive manor, even causing one of them to fall onto the table. After enduring this extremely long process of being served our food (55 minutes for 3 drinks and 2 appetizers), I asked for the check which was $42 and change. I handed over $50 in cash and was given $2.80 worth of change and NO receipt. I made our server aware of her mathematical error, yet she refused to hear me out, arguing that our bill was $47. As you can see, our receipt was CLEARLY a bill for $42.12. We left uncompensated for our change, our hair-covered nachos, and the overall inconvenience of having to deal with this establishment's so-called "customer service ." I will not be returning to Bluetop. I recommend you save yourself the trip! read more
