Fried pickles and some IPA (kitten something maybe?)
Susie H.

I was surprised this place wasn't busier on a Thursday night. That being said, the food and drinks were good. I think our server might have been new because she didn't seem to know a lot and didn't keep track of who ordered what (we had 4 people). I had the fried pickles and a draft beer. Came out to about $20. I appreciate that they use the handheld devices for paying - don't have to hand over your cc while they wander away. Decent spot. Lots of TVs. Good beer selection. Not a lot of parking on site but plenty of space nearby.

This is some what of a Large venue sports bar. They have plenty of screens and a very large beer menu (not formal at all). But if that is the vibe you want then this is a solid choice. This place is in the cut so you may not know it's there unless you are going to it. It has free parking so you can make it here and walk around if you are going to take a stroll (the area is a bit walkable as well). The bartender was super cool .. especially trying to help me figure out what to order on my first time (she is the one who put me on mixing the wings). Wings - lemon pepper and spicy BBQ sauce mixed (yes you can mix). Wisconsin cheese curds - these are really good and you got a lot of them. They come with ranch dipping sauce which is okay but you can honestly just eat them on their own. They're crispy and breaded very well. Moon dog burger - This burger was a problem and I didn't know about it until I tried it! I wanted a regular burger but I still have to go against that and got the burger with the bacon and the beer cheese. It was savory. It got a little bit messy though so I'll just keep that in mind because the cheese does go everywhere. But the burger taste is really really good. Overall I would definitely go back. This is a really decent neighborhood spot that has some good food and some good beer options. It's definitely worth it. As I'm typing this. I'm thinking about a way. Can I go back for another burger? LOL.

Trying all the hot wings near me and this was the next in line. I got takeout, and it was easy parking despite people being there for a football game. The food was hot, and the staff were very friendly. The wings were good with generous portions. I liked the flavor of the hot, and I re-learned that lemon pepper just isn't my favorite. The cheese curds were well seasoned, but I also decided these are not something I like in general. I will be back to try the bar fair and maybe just hang out. This place is super popular locally.

Beer at Moondog Pub & Grub, Chamblee

We stopped in for a bit of day drinking, though the draft list leaned heavier than I usually prefer--less in the way of crisp pilsners and lighter lagers. Still, I managed to enjoy a couple pours, including a stout with some real backbone once the lighter options ran dry. We settled into the over-21 section, which offered a slight buffer from the families dining with kids in the main room. It was quieter, at least until the sports coverage on the TV kicked up--lively, but not overwhelming. The food menu looked solid, with plenty of tempting options, but we'd already had a generous lunch and were saving room for dinner later. Still, the vibe was good, the service friendly, and the setup practical enough that we'll definitely be back. [Review 1253 of 2025 - 823 in Georgia - 24805 overall]

Nice addition to the Chamblee area. The bar/restaurant is great for catching a game, hanging with the family, or group of friends. There's an enclosed patio, bar and high tops, as well as a larger dining area that can be converted to a private room. Fun cocktails as well.

I'm hopeful that this pub continues to find its feet, because the location and promise is definitely there. It's a good spot for a casual eatery with good drinks, but unfortunately on first visit we didn't have a great experience. We were told to seat ourselves, and waited almost 10 mins before relocating to the bar as there were no servers in sight and no menus. The bar staff was friendly and there's a decent range of draft beers, but the place was almost empty (maybe 4 tables total) and yet service seemed erratic/slow. The food was very average, fries undercooked and meat in the turkey club was super dry. It was nice to note that there's an adults only seating area which likely comes in handy at busy family times. I really hope we got them on an off day and will try again - I'm rooting for small businesses like these to keep coming to the area.

We showed up with a party of like 8 people and were quickly attendees to. The bartenders and waiters were very nice and attentive. There even was live music even if it wasn't to my tastes it was fun. The sports bar vibe is strong and it's a good place to catch a game. The drinks were good and reasonably priced. The food was okay and will do the job for a sports bar.

Fried Wisconsin cheese curds

This is my first time here. I have driven by it a few times when driving through downtown Chamblee. A business associate of mine wanted to meet for dinner so we decided to try this place out. They had an absolutely amazing band playing there. We were there on a Wednesday night. If you're in the classic rock, this band crushes it. Anyways, we decided to sample a few of the appetizers. We got the fried Wisconsin cheese curds, which might be the best I've ever had in my life. Got the loaded tater tots, which were excellent and some buffalo wings. They had a good crisp to them and had a really good flavor. For the main course, we both ended up getting the hamburger on a pretzel bun. I would say it's in the top five best hamburger I've ever had.....and I get around. :-) That being said, I highly recommend this place!

wings, tots, german soft pretzel with mustard and beer cheese
Jeff N.

Even though they were very busy and had limited waitstaff, service was fast and friendly. Ordered 20 wings - mild buffalo and lemon pepper, and they were huge and tasty. Beer menu was diverse and large. Tater tots and a huge German soft pretzel were popular with our party. Blues band was playing and football on TV. It was a good vibe - felt like a more mature, seasoned restaurant than I expected.

Impossible burger and fries
Ken L.

Cute pub in downtown Chamblee with a dog friendly patio. I had the classic burger and decided to go Impossible. It was delicious. Fries were cooked and seasoned perfectly.

For those with deep pockets, order the Pappy!
Mike D.

Wings were very good (Lemon pepper my fav); beer selection nicely varied (mgr David does a great job); Parking a bit tight but you can park across the street after business hours. Kinda wild mix of families with little ones; classic rock fans catching the band and young couples trying out the bar. All good for a laid back evening. Service was helpful and friendly!

I opted to park at the Wal-Mart and wasn't as familiar with the trail so I took the street route. Well-light and populated for safe crossing. The venue is very open and was relatively empty since we arrived shortly after it opened. I love the indoor seating concept with plenty of couches, movable chairs, tables near the open-area space and smaller sections for 2-4 people tucked away along the wall. The DJ was already doing his thing and the bartenders remained busy. As someone who wasn't interested in the drinks, I appreciate that there was a self-serve water cooler in the center of the room. The Jenga and jumbo Uno cards were a hit!!!! It was so nice to have these options available. And as others mentioned, the large screen was playing a classic movie - which we could still see from inside. I didn't stay long and this was a Sunday night but the parking lot was much busier when I left. I imagine the outdoor space gets crowded later in the evening as well. The DJ was just okay - not my cup of tea - but folks seemed to be enjoying themselves. I can definitely see why this place is popular. Although parking is less than desirable, it is not unreasonable. The venue is well-lit and easy to move around. The crowd was diverse, with various ages and backgrounds represented. And depending on the DJ, this would be a great place for meeting with friends, date night or just zoning out to some wonderful music ... especially on a beautiful night. If you're in the mood for something different AND don't mind the trek to Chamblee, check it out.

The second I saw it, I didn't care about the price -- I knew I wanted it, so I planned us a date night. When we arrived, there was a birthday party going on, and I asked the maître d' if they were limiting seating because of the event. He didn't quite understand me, so my fiancée just asked for a table for two, and we were seated quickly. The setup was nice, although I'm personally not a fan of pre-set plates and glasses on tables (you never know how long they've been sitting there). Still, our server was fantastic -- attentive, helpful, and made the night smooth. We came for the famous Piraye Kebab Tray. At first, we were looking at the $165 option (Chef Tray + 1 Meze Board + Shepherd Salad + 4 Orders of Piraye Kebab with rice, all baked inside the dough). When we mentioned the price, our server kindly told us about the smaller 2-order option for $85 -- perfect! And let me tell you, Lord above, when I say I would do some things to eat this food again... words cannot describe how incredible it was. It has been three days since, and I'm still thinking about it. I even posted it on my stories, and over 10 people have messaged me asking about it. Chef Tray: Overflowing with juicy, flavorful meat, perfectly seasoned rice with chickpeas (I swear it was made with veal stock), and that roasted pepper and cheese-stuffed dough on top -- divine. Meze Board: The hummus was creamy and rich, paired perfectly with fresh pita. Shepherd Salad: Fresh, crisp, and balanced. My only small regret was that our server misunderstood when we asked for the dough crust to-go -- I realized the next day it wasn't packed up. Honestly though, I couldn't even be upset, because the food was just that good. For drinks and dessert: Turkish Coffee - small but strong, beautifully presented with a piece of Turkish delight on the side that was everything I had ever imagined a Turkish sweet to be: chewy, fragrant, and delicately sweet. Künefe - a dream come true! A warm, crunchy pastry with gooey melted cheese inside, topped with sweet syrup and pistachios. It was rich, nutty, and sweet without being overwhelming -- the perfect ending. Turkish Martini - decent, but not nearly as memorable as the food. All together, including tip, it was about $140. For the amount and quality of food, the attentive service, and the one-of-a-kind experience, it was absolutely worth every single cent. Piraye Kitchen isn't just dinner -- it's an experience. This is a must-try-before-you-die type of place. Oh, and happy birthday, Amy!

Atrocious experience this Saturday 4/25/26…read more We were actually over at sweet hut around 9pm and decided to check out Sapphire Karaoke since they were close by. At 9:26pm, we sent 2 people from our group of 6 to go by Sapphire to see if they had availability for us. The manager told them "yes, we will have a room in 5 minutes" so the rest of our group showed up excited and ready to karaoke. We waiting patiently 10-15 minutes and the manager came by again with "I'm sorry but someone messed up reservations and we won't have a room until 10pm". It was 9:44 pm at this point. The manager could tell we were about to leave and she comes back and says "oh good news, this group is checking out now. I'll have a room ready in 10 minutes". 2 from our group couldn't wait longer so they left. The rest of us decided to wait and got 2 bottles of Soju. It's $15 a bottle and THEY WILL CHARGE YOU A NON OPTIONAL GRATUITY so keep that in mind if you want to leave a tip, it's additional. Our total for the soju ended up averaging $20 a bottle. I asked the manager at 10pm what's going on and she just cuts me off and keeps walking with a "hold on". 10:15pm rolls around and the manager was no where to be seen. At this point we have been waiting 45 minutes with no updates when the original wait quote was FIVE minutes. We saw 3-4 parties come in and get seated. I'm not sure what kind of business they're trying to run but we sure felt BAMBOOZLED out of $50 for 2 bottles of soju and wasted 45 minutes of our time. They clearly have to figure out their scheduling/reservation system if the staff are making multiple errors. Don't lie to patrons that you have a room available when you don't. This felt like the equivalent of an overbooked/oversold flight and they were hoping they could get more clients to cover no shows- at least be honest and say we were on a waitlist.
