We've been meaning to get here for awhile. Heard great things and was not disappointed. My love is a lover of rieslings. Unfortunately, the menu option by the glass was out. Without asking, the tatted up dude bartender (I'm horrible with names) went and asked if he could pop open another option. Owners agreed and boom, we were tasting this glorious option. Wifey loved it. My choice of drink at a wine bar was an old fashion. The other bartender (super chill chica) whipped up a great citrus tasting version. Loved it. Loved the design of this place. Super cool use of mirrors to make it feel more grand than the size (which was already very open). Very cool overall feel here. I can't say enough about the people and drink choices. Lovely spot with farm to table fresh vibes. Waiters were chatty and funny, and atmosphere was bright and cheery. We got a beef tartare, salad, and steak dish, and all were delightful. Menu rotates around, so I'm definitely interested in going back to check out what they have in a different season. This is one of those places that is so rightfully hyped because they do everything right. From the ambiance to the food and wine, everything about this place was spectacular. We started with a lovely cheese board for the table, which was delicious and fresh. Paired with that we of course split a bottle of wine at the recommendation of the staff - we absolutely loved the pick! For the main I had the gnocchi, which was absolutely fantastic. I was so full but managed to scrape down the whole thing because of how light the gnocchi was and how delicious the sauce was. All 3 of us agreed this is the kind of place we want to come back over and over so we can try everything! 10/10 from me! Just note, parking wise, there's a tiny tiny lot, but I street parked around the corner. This area is notoriously a little harder for parking so just give yourself some extra time! read more

This place is really cute! The servers and bartenders were friendly and the martinis were crisp and delicious. The martini service for four was really better suited for two (which is how many of us enjoyed it) because it's four oysters. The spiced nuts they had with our service were their masala spiced pecans and I had to get some to go. They also had a great wine selection. Highland Charm! This spot feels cozy and community centric. With a forward thinking menu and wine list, it does evoke a certain level of uniqueness. Parking: probably the most challenging but if you're familiar with the area there is plenty of street parking nearby. There is a small tight lot next to the owl hotel though. Will need to pay. Atmosphere: appropriately dimmed bulb pendants and modern without trying finishes. There is a warm to the space for sure. Friendly and quirky staff. Indoors there is a bar, banquette seating (see note below regarding banquette) and a covered patio. Wine: stunning and unique. They have many vintages but equally as many lovely alternates. Their cocktail list and zero proof list is also impressive. My house red Nebbiolo was very light but hit the spot. My partner loved his wine too. Our waitress gave great recommendations. Food: we weren't expecting plated meals but this restaurant does have a select few options. Olives- dusted with perhaps a mustard seed or light ground herb. Olives are olives but the dusting seemed unnecessary . Ham and cheese croquettes- fluffy soft fried balls with a hint of sweetness. More cheese forward but overall good. Pomme frit- truly the most delicious snack. The aioli was spoon worthy. Bistro steak - the steak itself was stunning with the buttery peppercorn sauce. The sides of pureed rutabaga and chopped apple didn't necessarily pair well with the steak itself but were good on their own. The rutabaga has a sweet earthiness to it but with the steak did not compliment. Staff- extraordinarily friendly and helpful Prices- consistent with the area. Snacks ranged from 8-$15 and plates were averaging around $30. Glasses of wine also ranged depending on your taste. Note to the owner (from an interior designer) The banquette seating seems to have been built with the intention of pillows or alternate seat cushions. There is a millwork return that intercepts your seat about 3" which is quite uncomfortable. With pillows or upper cushions this could be mitigated! Thank you for a wonderful meal! read more

Had a lovely experience on the MP patio this evening. The covered patio is heated (although still a BIT chilly with how low the temps were outside tonight) and it was nice and quiet on a Sunday night. Also, the hot tea with a lovely, sweetened oat milk creamer made it even cozier! The dishes were excellent. Everything was prepared gluten free for us. We had the grilled Bok Choy, the pork belly (they oven roasted it for us rather than fry it), and the bistro steak medium rare. The standout for us was the shrimp congee that served as the base for the pork belly, we could've eaten 10 more of that dish. The steak was also SO tender. Will definitely return. We left full and felt the dishes were worth their price tag. We had 3 plates and shared them all between the 2 of us. Service was fast and friendly. read more

Madeira Park is a very wine-forward establishment. We came here for light bites and made a reservation for Sunday dinner, though we didn't really need it. We arrived 20 mins before our reservation time, but there were plenty of tables so they sat us right away. Service was great and always on point. I did not imbibe, but did order a Ghia spritz. My husband ordered red wine (forgot the first one, but his second was just their house red and it was great). They were super quick at bringing out wine that's for sure. My spritz was nice and refreshing. For food, we ordered a bunch of their small plates - meat and cheese charcuterie board, pommes frites and hummus. First off, their fries are THE BEST FRENCH FRIES ever. They were super nice and crispy and salty served with garlic aioli and ketchup - seriously, writing about them is making my mouth water. Hummus was super light and served with veggies (my favorite was the pickled radish and beets) and some grilled pita toasts. The charcuterie board was also lovely and was easily shareable. I wish the pieces of bread were toasted though. This is a wonderful place for light bites and wine. Their patio is definitely a must-go with nice weather. read more

I've only lived in ATL a few months, but this place is the best dinner spot we've had. It is on par with the restaurant quality you would get in bigger cities like SF or NYC. The inside is cozy & there's also a great patio outside. Once the weather starts getting cooler, it would be an awesome spot for an afternoon glass of wine. The wine list is great. Checked out this new place and had a nice time. The vibe inside is cool, a bit loud but that's okay. The booth side has a strip of wood in the back which makes sitting there just enough to be pretty bothersome. Started with the pick your own charcuterie. Very nice presentation, delicious deli meats, strong cheeses. I would've liked a bit of a walk through of what to expect with each one to better make my decisions. The pom frites were delish. The steak was cooked well but just okay. The gnocchi was tasty but a little soft. Also had some sort of veggies with a mustard sauce that was delish. Started with cocktails which were nicely done and unique. Switches to a bottle of wine. Service was fine. Very busy so I understand. All servers were nice and friendly. Seemed like there was enough support to make everything go smoothly. The timing of everything was very nice. They took our charcootie remains and replated them when our food came which was a nice touch. They also had a cool outside seating area. The aesthetics of this place are lovely. We had reservations but ended up sitting at the bar for drinks and dinner. The bar has comfy chairs, and there are places for your feet on the bar and the high-back chairs. I didn't notice the chairs were the same for the short tables, either. There are a lot of seating options: inside at the bar, high tops, or regular tables. Outside, there is a covered patio and an uncovered patio. Our bartender is charming. Her name was Katherine, I think, and she helped us figure out what to eat and drink. We both begin with a French 75. When we ordered dinner, we switched to a bottle of rose, but it wasn't a typical rosé, and we loved it. The bottle has a case with a red dot on it. We were hungry, so we got three things to share between the two of us. We began the meal with the hummus. It contained a variety of vegetables and delicious grilled pita dip. We learned that everything is made daily in the kitchen, and all ingredients are locally sourced. You can tell by the freshness of it all. We got the shrimp salad and gnocchi. The shrimp salad curry dressing was so delicious that I used a spoon to drink it. The peanuts, all the fresh veggies, and a large amount of shrimp were perfectly combined in that phenomenal curry sauce. The gnocchi was soft, squishy pillows of happiness with a cream sauce and peas. We will definitely be back. There is a park mobile parking lot. read more

This restaurant was absolutely stellar--one of the best I've visited in Atlanta in quite some time. Although MP is known primarily as a wine bar, my girlfriend and I have a tradition of sampling Negronis wherever we go, and theirs was our highest-rated yet. The menu offers a modern fusion of cuisines--American, French, Asian, Italian, and Spanish--each dish executed with precision and creativity. The crispy panisse arrived perfectly hot, creamy inside, and paired with what seemed to be a bright herb gremolata. The anchovy and butter tartine was decadently rich, yet the rustic bread provided just the right balance. The beef tartare, served with crisp potato chips (my favorite vehicle), had a lovely kick from the Dijon. Both the curried shrimp risotto and the gnocchi with squash fonduta were outstanding. I believe the gnocchi was ricotta-based--it was unbelievably soft, rivaled only by Lyla Lila's version. All in all, this was an exceptional dining experience--refined yet welcoming. We were really looking forward to eating here. The restaurants commitment to sustainability and working with local growers and producers is very appealing to us as well as having a recommendation from Michelin. We thought it would be a great place for a Sunday Brunch!! We ordered the Panisse, Hummus /Crudités /Flatbread, Pomme frites, and the Bistro steak. When the Panisse hit our table we had high hopes for the delectable dipping sauce in which the plate is named for, as we've enjoyed it prior to Madeira Park. It was served with these delightful mashed chick pea fries that were actually quite nicely toasted (or lightly fried?? beautifully but, the sauce was this greasy, flavorless, oil concoction that we just could not get into. "Ok, no big deal", we thought. Then we were served the Hummus/Crudite/Flatbread which was actually a lovely assortment of veggies. The snow peas were crunchy and fresh but some of the other veggies tasted like they were cut two weeks ago and sat in a fridge right up until they were about to go bad or tasted as though they were flash frozen and then thawed out before they came to our table. The accompanying hummus and flatbread were both nicely done though. So, the dishes were becoming hit or miss. I was looking forward to trying the mayo for the Pomme Frites as it was emphasized by the 2nd server but, it was really underwhelming and just plain bland when it came to flavor. So when the bistro steak was ordered medium rare and it came out in these thick chewy slabs in which we could barely chew or swallow, we decided to throw in the towel for this spot. And by the time the bill came, there was an overwhelmingly lipidic aura that dominated our palates. Besides the food, the first female server who greeted us seemed really friendly and upbeat. But when she gave my partner a rub on his back upon greeting him, he and I were both a little stunned!! We kind of just laughed it off with an appalled side eye with one another. So, when she placed her hand on my partners shoulder and massaged it for a bit while we discussed menu items to order, he is too shy so, I had to kindly inform her that her hands on my partner in her professional setting is completely and utterly unacceptable. She never returned to our table but, a manager was quick to our table to inform us that the waitress is just really sweet and friendly to which I had to repeat myself that her hands on my partner is unprofessional and unacceptable. But, we left there wondering if the tables were turned and a male customer had done that to the female waitress, if the server and the manager would have seen that as acceptable but, we wont ever be going back there to find out. We are foodies and we love to support local businesses. We travel the world and enjoy food from all genre's so that's why we kind of feel bad having to give this type of review but, as many restaurants we have been to, we are not accustomed to food that's Michelin recommended which is just subpar and a manager who thinks her touchy feely server should be given a pass just because she is really sweet... why didn't the server try and massage my back or shoulders?? I could really use a massage now but, I digress. We gave this place an honest and thorough shot but, wont be back unless they hire a new chef and have a change in management and staff, sadly. read more

Mehhhh! I've heard all the buzz about this restaurant and finally made it a point to go and check it out. Wine list was about the best thing in house. Bok Choy that usually costs about $3 for a lb or more is being charged $16 for some odd reason. And it was ok. It was over cooked and soggy. Everything I saw was unbelievably over priced. The steak not sure of the cut was alright but nothing to go crazy about. The reduction was tasty but that's about it has. Cute location, decor was not of a Michelin guide decor. They don't shake cocktails, everything is batched. Can't get a beaten dirty martini unfortunately, so save the trip. I'm not sure who paid who to get the recommendation for Michelin but this isn't it. read more

We stopped in on a Friday afternoon and found this new spot the perfect place to start off the weekend. Housed in the long-neglected Highland Inn space, Madeira Park really livens up the block with its sophisticated, convivial patio and chic interior, not to mention its well-cultivated wine, cocktail, and bites menu. I started with a Tuxedo, a nice little gin cocktail, while my friends sampled various whites from the wine list. For a snack, we sampled their absolutely outstanding pommes frites, served with aioli, and their generous hummus place with a selection of fresh and colorful crudites. My husband and I are bar owners with 30 plus years of experience in the service industry. I am starting off my review with saying this because, if anyone understands how things can go wrong in the front/back of the house running a restaurant it's us . We went in for dinner our first and LAST time this weekend and , not one thing went right . The wine that was suggested was so bad that we couldn't even finish our $60 bottle of wine. The bartender didn't even do a pour for us to taste it first to make sure it was good before proceeding to pour into our glasses . ( majority of restaurants take that step to make sure the bottle isn't bad OR just simply to make sure the customer is happy with it ) The bartender never asked if we were pleased with her suggestion for us or not ? I also want to add she was aware of the kind of wine we prefer . Food was awful as well . The ONLY dish I was okay with were the scallops but , it only came with three scallops which I would have no problem with if it were an appetizer. So, on top of not finishing our bottle of wine we didn't finish our entrees . The bartender once again did not ask any questions of why we were not satisfied. Especially when she asked did we want to pack up our food ? NO , of course was our answer. We paid and , were on our way out when the manager asked how everything was and , we made her aware of how we were dissatisfied . We took the time to make her aware of the whole experience. Her reply was just simply .... I am sorry . She did NOT care what so ever !!! She asked no questions and , offered zero solutions. Buyer beware !!! An excellent, relaxed nouveau American room with a lovely patio. First order of business is to commend the managers both of whom were present on the floor and stopped at each table for conversation. I like this touch in a restaurant. We enjoyed a wonderful broiled tile fish with roasted potatoes, and a sliced steak skillfully adorned with savory sauces and vegetables. Very tasty pommes frites, and a fried panisse (chickpea flour and water popular in France). Didn't care for their interpretation of a margarita, more continental with soda, versus the classic Mexican style with fresh lime juice and tequila. The highlight was their chocolate mousse adorned with hazelnuts, and a vanilla semifreddo frozen cream like option. Parking is a challenge in this crowded walkable neighborhood but they are helpful with options. All of the staff were very professional and friendly. We are a mature couple and noticed that the patio fills with younger people bringing high energy. Probably a good place for people watching and meeting folks. read more

We each had different entrees', fish, gnocchi, cabbage dish, Thai salad with shrimp. All were edible but not very tasty but very nicely served. Serving sizes were rather small.
