    The drifter

La Cueva is such a unique hidden speakeasy experience in Atlanta. The space is intimate, dark, and beautifully designed with glowing red lighting, candlelit tables, and plush seating. It feels upscale and mysterious without being overly stuffy, making it a great choice for a date night or special occasion. Reservations are definitely recommended because the space is limited and the intimate setup is a major part of the experience. Our server, Aiden, was amazing--friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. I ordered the Drifter, while my partner tried the Desert Justice. Both cocktails were very good, thoughtfully made, and had unique flavor profiles that matched the creative atmosphere. We also ordered the milk bread, which came as three warm rolls with whipped butter. The bread was soft and fluffy, but honestly, without the butter it wasn't anything too memorable, especially considering the higher-end pricing. After trying it, we decided not to continue with a full dinner and treated La Cueva more as a cocktail stop. This place is definitely on the pricier side, but you're also paying for the intimate atmosphere and hidden-speakeasy concept. I would return for the drinks and experience, especially for date night, but I'd probably plan to eat somewhere else before or afterward. Overall, La Cueva is worth visiting at least once for the ambiance, creative cocktails, and excellent service from Aiden.

Vibey. Can't wait to return. Interior looks like you're in a cave. Unique cocktail menu and wines. We enjoyed the ceviche, roast chicken, shrimp empanadas, tuna tostadas, and more. Service slowed down as they got busier. I assume they're still working out kinks. Located by the barbershop on 2nd floor. It took awhile to be seated even though we had reservations probably best to come early. There's bar seating but I don't know if it accommodates walkins. Live music was a nice touch(started around 8).

This place is super cool located on second floor of PCM. Really quite unique. Unfortunately everyone waiting for a table who didn't have a reservation was standing in the lobby taking thousands of photos so we couldn't enjoy that part. The vibe is vibing there's no doubt. It's beautiful and really unique. The cocktails are good. The apps weren't bad. Ceviche was liked by some of us but not all. The bread was a missing something. The entrees were also good. Nothing blew us away but they were solid. The pasta noodles were perfectly cooked. The short rib was tender. The chicken was very good. Overall i don't know that the food and drinks lived up to the hype but it was for sure good service and good ambiance. $$$

La Cueva is the newest cocktail hotspot in town, being made famous by social media influencers. The entrance to this place is very unassuming (as it should be since it is a speakeasy). Highly suggest that you make a reservation since it is so popular right now. We were able to walk in and get some spots at the bar but do not count on this. La Cueva means "cave" and the ambiance is that in ever since of the word. I tried two different drinks, The drifter, and the Buford highway. Buford highway is made of different liquors from different demographics, hence the name. It was very refreshing. Pro tip-keep the dried strawberry on the drink. The drifter had a foam base on it. It was nice to have the owner come by and introduce himself. He blended in so assumedly, we just thought he was someone patronizing. Lol They have live music almost every night. Give them a try!

Drifter on the left, Buford Highway in the front, Thrilla in Manila in the back, Bandolero on the right.

I fear I may have visited La Cueva too early, before they had a chance to work the kinks out. First off, the ambiance and atmosphere is top tier. Absolutely gorgeous. I love a speakeasy, and this one was extremely unique. The establishment is essentially one huge cave. The way you enter is very interesting, you open the front door through a code sent to you on your phone. Very cool. The drinks were excellent, we tried about 6 cocktails between my group and the stand-outs favorites were the Bandolero and Thrilla in Manila. We only had one appetizer, the Goat Cheese Croquettes. They were very good, a nice mix of goat cheese and guava. For the entrees and sides, we had the Pappardelle, Smash Burger, and Aligot. Unfortunately we had to send the aligot back to be reheated, as it came out lukewarm. This is also not my personal definition of aligot, which is a whipped potato dish with enough cheese mixed in that it creates a cheese pull. These were just very wet and cold. Flavor was good, but no cheese detected. The pappardelle was also lukewarm when it came out, but my friend did not want to spend the time waiting for it to come back out after being reheated. The flavor was fine. It states "truffle" and mushroom on the menu, but truly we only tasted mushroom in a loose sauce. Would not order again. The Smash Burgers and fries were very good, nothing groundbreaking, but this was probably my favorite food item that we ordered. As of right now, I would come back to sit at the bar and have some drinks. I will give it some more time and come back in a few months to try more food.

I found La Cueva after seeing it go viral on TikTok and decided to make a same-day reservation. The atmosphere definitely lived up to the hype, especially with the live band performing near our table, it created a fun, energetic vibe. It's located in the Ponce City Market and text message will provide a link to open the door, We tried four different cocktails, and every single one was well-crafted and delicious. For food, the milk bread, goat cheese croquettes, and shrimp empanadas were all great choices and complemented the drinks perfectly. My only complaint was the table size. The serving plates were much too large for the small table, and I actually had to keep one of the smaller plates on my lap to make everything fit. It made dining a little uncomfortable. Overall, it's a great spot for cocktails, live music, and small bites, and I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you're looking for a unique night out in Atlanta.

I had the grapefruit rosemary margarita while one of my friends tried the special open cask offering. Now, lets get into the food...specifically the FRIES. The apps and entrees we ordered were so good, yet nothing holds a candle to those super crispy fries and the Belgian aioli that comes alongside. It was delicious, but it could've not had juices leaking so much? Maybe cheese below and above the meat to try to keep some of the juices off the bun or maybe more bun toasting? The fries were amazing and I should've gotten the aolie initially, but didn't get it until I saw another table with an order. It was delicious. The service was very good. The server had good knowledge of the beers, food, and was friendly. This is one of the best beer bars in the US. The Atlanta area is fortunate to have two killer beer bars, the other being the Brick Store Pub in Decatur.

So I hit the x on the screen to close out of the other customers transaction, and the bartender rushed over and started berating me with "what are you doing you don't touch that" and even had the audacity to ask "you didn't put anything in did you?!??" At which point we explained and placed our order with drinks took the flag with the table number to go sit down After which, the bartender came to our table and was somehow even more of an asshole, and told us that "you're supposed to wait for these diet cokes I can't bring them to you" We were both quite angry.
