A bit of an overdue review - got to try out Thay Bar Thai when the weather was a bit warmer out, and the patio was still open (it might be despite the cold?) This spot is located on Euclid Avenue, inbetween Bathurst and Christie TTC stations on the bloor line, so taking into account a very short walk, this is very accessible via TTC. It's arguably part of Korea Town, but the food is clearly Thai with a modern twist. Some big recommendations our group tried first hand:
The Seafood bucket. Prawns, calimari, corn, mussels all in a spicy Thai sauce! And the presentation was great, reminded me of a seafood boil.
Pineapple Fried Rice - not just served in a pineapple but with actual pineapple pieces in it, along with shrimp and cashews.
Pad Se-Ew, fresh thick/wide rice noodles stir fried with egg and chinese broccoli.
Overall the staff were very attentive and great, asked before-hand about allergies and were very accommodating to our group. I don't remember the specific names of the cocktails we had, but if you're into sweet mixed drinks this is a great spot for an evening out. read more
