February 28/2026: Dinner with my Al. This was a very delicious meal! This little tiny place was jammed. Had seating for maybe 25 people. They had people sitting in places that didn't normally have seating! The food was delicious. For starters we have the calamari($13.99). It was lightly battered & came with a plumb sauce for dipping. Very tasty. For the main, we shared. Had the Chicken Pad Thai ($20.95). Keeping with the theme, it was delicious as well. Final dish was Thai Egg Fried Rice ($20.95). Just like the rest of the dishes, it was very tasty. Finally for dessert we have the Butterfly Tea Tapioca ($8.00). It was warm & super delicious and a 100% do over as well. Disappointing Experience at Thai Barn Na Restaurant Thai Barn Na restaurant is our go to place to celebrate our Birthdays. Always totally satisfied and impressed with the Waitress that is usually working. We never had a problem until Thursday December 4th This experience fell short of the expectations, we will not be returning. We are no longer going to promote Thai Barn as a" Hidden Gem". This location should be allocated for takeout only. Customer service is lacking in front end personnel. Our upset was a result. From past experiences, we were astounded that the $16.00 Margaritas were incredibly short. We were regulars and knew what to expect. We poured one drink into one glass. The Margarita was still an Inch from the salt ring. She came out with another of the same size. We celebrate birthdays and have been Regular CUSTOMERS for several years. When we pointed this out to server, she claimed that these were not the correct glasses. She was very rude, consistently arguing and did not try to soften the situation. We walked out! Never did this in our lives, walk of a restaurant in our lives. We were fortunate to get a reservation elsewhere and had a wonderful time despite the earlier disaster. They made over $300 sales plus tip, and we had the loveliest server. Thai Barn Na needs significant improvements in customer service. If she had not continued to argue the same thing she really angered us. Not once did she suggest she would take the drinks and offer an alternative, instead adamantly continued to argue with us. We're back! It's a miserable foggy and drizzly Saturday in Toronto so we drove out of the downtown core with memories of a great experience to brighten our day at Thai Barn Na. We arrived just before 12:30 and were surprised to find the pace empty. We sat at our "regular" table and witnessed a steady stream of food delivery drivers come and go. The waitress quickly brought menus which i immediately took pictures of for this post. We decided to share the chicken satay which arrived quickly and freshly grilled. Hot, tender with a little hint of a spicy bite. The Thai peanut sauce definitely did not come from a jar and was chunky, peanuty and added some sweetness. Delicious! The cashew chicken and pad sew ew came honour table between food delivery pick ups. Everything was definitely made to order-- fresh, hot and nicely plated. The cashew chicken was tender and flavourful. They do not skimp on the cashews and had a nice mix of veg. A steaming dome of rice went so well with the medium spice level of the dish. I was going to order the pad Thai but asked what the server's favourite was. The pad sew ew was recommended and chosen. I'm glad I did. The chicken was tender. Love the wide rice noodles and a deep umami soy flavour. Medium spice was enough to warm my lips and tickle my throat but not unpleasant at all. The servings were generous on deep bowls which meant we took some home to enjoy later. No other patrons came to join us in the dining room but the stream of food delivery drivers was a definite sign the food was fresh and very popular. My partner is a fan of this place and wanted me to try it out too! I got the Pad Kra Prao with fried egg and he got pad see ew. My dish was good, the stir fried minced chicken with the other ingredients worked together really well. It had a good amount of flavour especially with the Thai basil where the chilis added a nice kick to each bite. Yummy Thai style fried egg was a great add on. The pad see ew was charred nicely, it had a smokey flavour and you could tell everything was fresh. I had a good time here, luckily when we went it was not too busy. read more

I loved Thai Barna Na! The restaurant is located in Alderwood, Etobicoke. Take-out and dine-in options are available at this location. There is limited parking directly in front of the restaurant, with more parking available on the adjacent side street. The inside is small (at most, there maybe about 12 tables), and the restaurant does not take reservations. We got there at 6:30 and were seated right away, however, by 7:30 people were waiting to be seated. We ordered the green curry with chicken, and pad see ew with beef. Both dishes were delicious, plentiful, and the cost was very reasonable. I especially liked the pad see ew which had a perfect amount of "smoky" flavour and spiciness. Since I'm vegan I get it with no egg and add extra veggies and this was delicious! I got it Thai spicy but didn't think it was that spicy-I would definitely get extra Thai(spice level) next time. Sometimes I do have to wait a while for a water refill or the bill (even during slow periods) but it's worthwhile just for the food. The store itself is small, so we were able to be seated immediately, but a line formed during our stay. Every dish here was tasty! Be sure to inquire about the spice level. We got medium spicy because we did not want to deal with a stomachache. The tom yum soup had a lot of toppings. The TBN chicken was good finger food. The papaya salad and the pad thai were delicious. The crab fried rice was flavorful. We were lucky that they were able to serve mango and sticky rice (mango's are becoming in season!). Highly recommend this spot for authentic thai food. We ordered the pad sew yew, pad kee mow, khao soi and finished it with mango sticky rice. I loved every single dish. The flat noodle was cooked to the perfect texture. The khao soi broth was so good, I packed the leftover soup to go. Mango stick rice was my favourite and it's the best I've had in the city. Its served warm with coconut sauce. The mango was perfectly riped,rice was seasoned to the point , what a perfect pairing! Service was great and she gave us great recommendations. I was very impressed with this hidden gem. It's a small authentic family run place on the Brown's Line south of QEW. Definitely differentiates itself from the more popular and well known Thai places like Khao San and Salad King. Food (4.5/5) - TBN Fried Chicken - chicken was tender... sauce was a bit too robust for me but that might be personal preference. - Khao Soi - very good... had the chicken one - really enjoyed the taste and blend of coconut milk, curry, onions and shallots. Nice broth and tender chicken pieces. - Pad See Ew - very good... had the shrimp one - noodles were cooked perfectly and the soy/oyster sauce is so tasty. Gai Lan was cooked to perfect crispiness. - Mango Sticky Rice - i'm not a huge mango fan but enjoyed this dish. Good balance of sweetness and flavour. Service (4.5/5) - was friendly and attentive. Didn't have to wait long to order or check out. Atmosphere (4/5) - not much to it... it's small with 5-6 tables, basic furniture and decoration. I had a taste for Thai and decided to get some food from Thai Barn Na. I ordered the food on DoorDash so I'm uncertain of the restaurant ambiance. The food was packaged well and still hot upon arrival. I got the calamari. Fried to perfection, crispy and flavorful with a side of sweet chili sauce. My main entree was Pad See Ew with shrimp. It was a 10 out of 10. Flat noodles, eggs, broccoli, shrimp and garlic. Soy sauce and oyster sauce. They took their time making that dish and it was obvious. This is really a hidden gem. It's hard to find thai food at this level outside the downtown core. We were a group of 4 that came on a Thursday evening before 5. I already had my heart set on the Pad See Ew and my bf just always gets the cashew nut chicken at every thai place we go to lol. We also ordered spring rolls and chicken wings for the table. The spring rolls were good. Nice and crispy. Nothing amazing but nothing bad either. They were just...good lol. The chicken wings actually had a nice flavour to them. The skin I think was marinated, so it actually had flavour and it wasn't just a "chicken wing" taste. I has asked them to leave out the oyster sauce when making my pad see ew, as I got paranoid because I have a shellfish allergy. It's not severe but when I saw oyster sauce was an ingredient, I got a little nervous. I don't know why because I have ordered pad see ew at a dozen different places and I have never had an issue lol. They could very well be using oyster sauce or a fake oyster sauce. Anyways, everything about the pad see ew was on point....except it was missing one little thing in the flavour profile. it HAD to be the oyster sauce lol. So this is all on me and not the resto's fault. I'm so coming back and just getting the oyster sauce with it because the texture of the noodles, the way the sauce coated the noodles, literally everything about it was perfect. Just something was missing. Also they do not skimp on the meat here. My plate was loooaded with beef, which was delicious too. Defs keeping this place in my back pocket. I did couple of delivery orders through UberEats before doing a dine-in. I was not happy with couple of dishes that I received through delivery. However, after a dine-in service it changed my mind. Store was not too busy when I went in for lunch service. Ordered a fresh roll, pad thai with chicken and khao soi with shrimp. Food is on point. Portion is great, the flavour of my pad thai was amazing. Often pad thai could be hit or miss and I am quite picky with my Pad Thai. I do not like when they are too dry, sour (almost like ketchup) or generally when flavours do not balance well. However this place hits every aspects of what I look for in perfect Pad Thai. Khao soi was amazing as well. Flavour was so rich that I almost wanted to order a bowl of rice to finish the curry! It is not a big restaurant, but a decent size. Open concept kitchen and it was nice to see their decorations and presentations of the dishes. I hardly give 5/5 and especially after my disappointment through UberEats. But this place deserved 5/5. The service we received at the time of my visit made me want to come back here. Also I have been spreading this word to everyone who asks for Thai food recommendation in the area. When I visited, the server that served us never let our cup to be empty. They made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the meal, asked if there is anything they could do to ensure we are enjoying our time here, making a little chat and talk to get to know people. This is a place that I felt like I wanted to tip them. I normally hate visiting places where the servers kind of force you to pay for tips. However, this place they deserve it. This quaint little restaurant is tucked away but its one of those little gems you never want to share but really should. The food is fresh, so flavourful and aromatic. With every bite you your stomach is doing sommersaults of happiness and takes you on a roadtrip through Thailand. We had the Fresh Roll, immediately you can tell how fresh everything is and the pillowy softness of the rice wrap greens inside are super crisp and crunchy. The dip is sweetand tangy with just enough flavour not to take away from the flavour of the greens. We also had the TBN Fried Chicken! It was crispy and full of flavour with just enough sauce so it retained the crispness. Another must have! We also had the Khao Soi. OMG! Thats all I can say. Adjust the heat to your liking, this dish was the dish would never end. The suace could be poured onto a bed of rice and I would be happy. Its a must-must try. Finally, the service. The owner isn't afraid of hard work, she's on the floor greeting, serving and checking on your meal. Super friendly and always willing to give you recommendations based on what you might be interested in trying. I will say, be patient once you've placed your order. Food doesn't come fast but it also doesn't take long. Our wait between apps and mains was perfect. Go with good company, sit and savour it. Definitely enjoy a couple apps before your main dish and definitelytry their Thai Iced Tea. Overall rating of this place is 9.5/10 and your stomach will defintiely agree. read more

My family stopped by for lunch and it wasn't too crowded. The place is very cozy and has great food and service for a decent price.

Tasty food but bizarre refusal to switch out green peppers for red in a curry dish did not inspire me to continue supporting this restaurant. Of note they do offer a red curry dish with red peppers so the switch would have been an easy one. Guess their chef's control is more important than their customer's reasonable needs. read more

A friend recommended trying this place out and I'm glad they did. It's always nice to see new restaurants open up in this area and Thai Barn Na did not disappoint. The restaurant looks fairly modern and comfortable. It's not the biggest, so I imagine on a busy night they could get crowded. They don't take reservations on the weekends (including Friday) so I suspect this is due to their small size and current popularity. That said, we had no problem getting a table on a Friday evening and it didn't look like it ever got too busy. The service was friendly and quick - not much else to say here but certainly nothing negative. I had the khao soi with beef and Thai iced tea - didn't get to try my friend's pad thai although it was neat to see it arrive the way it did (see my pictures attached to this review). The Thai iced tea was good, nothing super special if you've had thai iced tea before, but definitely worth trying if you've never had it. The khao soi with beef was very good - I had it medium spicy and it had enough kick to it while not being distracting. The beef did feel a bit dry but I find that is a common occurrence with this dish. All in all, happy that this place exists in this area, and looking forward to going back again to try other dishes. read more

Came to have dinner on a Tuesday night with some friends after we played at Can Badminton for a few hours. We were HUNGRY, got there around 8:45pm and their indoor seating was full. Definitely could not fit a group of 10 people right away. The outdoor seating, although empty & beautiful, it was a little too cold at that point of the night. The staff were extremely helpful & friendly. Our server's name was Mint & she was wonderful. They came to take our orders while we were waiting outside since they closed at 10, so by the time we were seated at 9:05pm, our food was just about to start coming out. I got the pineapple fried rice with chicken and it did not disappoint, taste & size-wise. My partner got the pad see ew with beef which was also delicious, but the portion was a little smaller than I hoped. Our friends seemed to be satisfied with their dishes as well; although the khao soi seemed to have mixed reviews with one friend out of 3 not enjoying it. I would definitely come back in the future, but maybe when it's a little earlier in the day. The restaurant is quite dimly lit which made it difficult to see. Speaking of accessibility, there are no steps in or to enter the restaurant, but there is no accessibility button on the door either. I believe the washrooms are like most Toronto buildings, where you must walk down the stairs to get to them. So overall, not very wheelchair accessible nor low-vision friendly (at least in the evening). read more

Thai Barn Na is a family owned business specializing in Thai food that opened up recently during the pandemic. The restaurant is small, with street parking in front of the establishment along Brown's Line. I suspect one could also park on a nearby side street. When my friend and I arrived on a Thursday evening there was only one patron waiting for a takeout order. My friend and I were the only ones dining in. We ordered the signature pad Thai and the chicken Penang curry. The signature pad Thai was amazing. Presentation was very nice. I'm still thinking about how the noodles were perfectly chewy and al dente. There was plenty of flavour in the sauce without it being overly sweet. There were nice smoky pieces of tofu and perfectly cooked vegetables in our vegetarian pad Thai. The portion size was quite generous and between my friend and I we were only able to get through about a third of the dish. The chicken Penang was also delicious and served with steamed rice. I would have liked the curry to be ever so slightly creamier/thicker perhaps but there was plenty of chicken and some vegetables served with the dish. At mild spiciness it really wasn't spicy but we were offered a side of chili paste which we didn't end up tasting. The restaurant is cozy and the prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes that you get. They also offer halal, gluten free and vegan options. I would advise that if you are to be seated near the window in the wintertime, bring a scarf as it can get fairly cool during the winter! The staff were amazing and checked up on us very frequently and kept refilling our hot water. I would definitely recommend checking out Thai Barn Na. 4.5 stars. read more

It's national soup month and on this chilly day I am posting this beautifully presented, warm and comforting feast from Thai Barn Na! My girls and I went there over the holidays and throughly enjoyed some extremely delicious and aesthetically pleasing meals. Pictured in order of appearance: - Khao Soi - Clockwise: Pad Kra Prao with Fried Egg, Pad Kee Mao, Khao Soi and Thai iced tea - My Best Pad Thai - Pineapple Fried Rice - TBN Fried Chicken Hands down this place does thai food like nobody else, you can tell their dishes are family recipes passed down and made with lots of love! Their menu is vast with a lot of options for everyone and you will be licking your fingers I guarantee it. We went when dine in was still an option but because we ordered so much I ended up taking some of the khao soi home along with most of the fried rice and I noticed something ... the packaging was impeccable !!! That is a huge plus at least for me especially given now that we are all just doing take out. I mean let's be real, packaging anything soupy so perfectly takes a lot of time and effort and it really showed so thank you for that Thai Barn Na. YUMMMY!! I haven't had good thai food like Thai Barn Na in a LONG time and my cravings were satisfied AF! It is a new restaurant so it wasn't busy on a Friday night when I arrived around 8 PM. There is some parking in the front of the restaurant but I am not sure where you would be able to park if its full.. For apps, we ordered the calamari and shrimp tom yum soup. Both were so delicious. The calamari was perfectly crispy and not oily at all. The batter was flavourful and honestly the calamari would've tasted great on its own but the accompanying sauce made it even more bomb diggity! Tom yum is always a must whenever I go for Thai and it was exceptional at Thai Barn Na even my hubby who generally don't like soup or eat tom yum with me couldn't stop sipping on it LOL I ordered the chicken and shrimp pad thai and my hubby ordered the mussaman curry (recommended by the server) and consistent with our apps, they were TASTY AF. I loved my pad thai - at most thai establishments it feels very heavy, too saucy or too dry but here was perfectly in between! I was full but it was so good I had to keep eating LOL my hubby enjoyed his curry too but wished there was more protein. All in all, a very very nice spot whenever you are craving Thai food. Great service, high quality food and affordable - can't get any better than this! Just a note that this place is also Halal!! Talk about a great find! We were looking for Thai in Etobicoke and came across this gem! The ambiance, food and service were all excellent! The presentation was very nice too! I just keep coming back for the cashew nut chicken. It's so good and pretty good value for the amount of food you get. I appreciate that rice is included with the cashew nut chicken. Some places charge extra for rice, which doesn't sit well with me lol. It's also a bonus that you get 10% off when you pay cash for takeout orders. Review is based on takeout. NO PARKING in front of establishment. There are a few spots on the side of the building on Albright, on the side of the corner store. I was in the area, decided to try this place out. Food was ready as per when they said it would be. Based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews, I had high-expectations. However, Pad Thai wasn't very flavourful. I could tell from the colour and the look of the noodles that it wasn't stir fried long enough. Noodles barely kissed the wok. Non-existent on the wok hei! It wasn't the worst that I've had, but certainly NOT 5*s. Khao Soi was better than the last time I had it from another place, but admittedly, it isn't my favourite Thai dish. I just ordered it 'cause it's not something that is on all Thai menus. Portions are more or less similar as my local Thai place. And I believe my local place is a tad more pricier, but the Thai place closer to my house has better food! At least based on this experience. I'd say give it a go, but DO NOT drive out of your way! P.S. Bring back your Lunch Specials. They were more reasonably priced and it's a better way of trying multiple things on the menu! read more
