I was craving Thai food on a Saturday evening but was wanting to try some place new. I decided to make the 25 minute drive to try Thai Rice. It was also beautiful outside and I didn't feel right wasting the day inside. As others have mentioned this is a primarily take-out place. Totally not what I expected when I walked in. Very small with 3 tables to sit at and one high chair at a high table. So don't be asking all your friends to come to Thai Rice to have a meal. There's literally 6 chairs. I was really just craving pad thai, so that's what I got. Texture is kind of similar to Thai Express. Meh. They are very generous with their portions. It wasn't anything amazing. They are also generous with the chicken but not the tofu. There were about 5 pieces. I was hoping for more. Very saucy. Noodles were kind of chewy. Fortunately, the leftover did warm up okay. Sometimes pad thai can get gross and hard after being in the fridge, but theirs tasted okay after going through the microwave. THANK GOD, because it is now Monday and more than half the container is still full.

Chicken Pad Thai lunch special w/ spring roll - $13

Have been picking up (& occasionally eating in) amazing Thai food from here for a few years now, and every time the food is consistently delicious! All the items come packed with meats & veggies, and the seasoning/sauces are always great. My favourite is the Red Curry - it's slightly spicy and so flavourful - and the regular Pad Thai. It's hard to find good Pad Thai that isn't dry or clumpy, that has the perfect balance of sweet/spicy/tangy & these guys do it perfect. I've taken friends & family there, and they've all loved it & become loyal customers as well. Will definitely keep coming back for more!

Take out gem in the area! I called in to order for lunch and the woman was very polite on the phone and explained the spice level of some of the items. The order was ready in 10 mins! The lunch special was $10+tax and the portion was very generous. I got the hot and sour soup and red Thai curry chicken with side of rice. Soup was a good portion and had a lot of flavour. It's got a kick to it, and I loved it! Not thick like some other hot and sour soups I've had. Red Thai curry was very good. So smooth with a lot of flavour; and there were tofu pieces along with chicken. And they gave me a lot of rice on the side. More than typical Thai restaurants... This was more than lunch. I ate the rest for dinner. I'll definitely be going back for more.

Note: Primarily takeout, but there are 3 small tables. Not ideal for groups! If you're in the area, this Thai place located in a plaza in a residential area on Britannia (just E of Creditview) is definitely worth a try! Again, primarily takeout, no frills, casual place. As per the other reviews, prices are very reasonable, portions are quite generous. Average prices seemed to be ~$11/beef or chicken dish, before taxes. There wasn't table service, so I didn't feel a need a tip. To give you an idea, the food was also served in the takeout containers with styro plates. This was ok by me because chances are good that you won't be able to finish 1 portion anyway! Flavours in both the red & green curries were good. Green curry was slightly spicier and sweeter than red. My friend said she found the green curry too sweet, but she's used to South-East Asian curries. Lady behind the counter was very friendly. She even tried to call me back when I initially called to make sure it was open. Overall, good value for what is served. I'd definitely check it out again to try other items on the menu!

Shrimp and chicken pad Thai, spring rolls and mango salad

I was skeptical when I read the positive Google reviews on this place but I'm glad I gave it a try. I'd echo similar comments others have made that it's good value - prices are reasonable and portion sizes are generous. The spring rolls were large. The chicken and shrimp pad Thai had nice, jumbo shrimps (4 of them) and had a nice wok-fried taste. The mango salad was my favourite- many places tend to cheap out and mix in a lot of red onions or other fillers but the mango salad here was probably 90% mangoes. There's only two small table for two so it's more of a take-out restaurant. Food is made quickly. We called in our order and the lady said it'd be ready in 10-15 mins. Overall, it's a good place for Thai take out.

The best Thai food i have ever had. Such great flavour and just the right amount of spice. Had the Chi and Shrimp Satay Pad Thai and Chicken Red Curry. Both were delicious! Its a nice n small takeout place. Great food for a good price.

Yum!! Chicken pad Thai lunch special. Large portion plus you get a spring roll or soup. It is loaded with chicken and tofu

The space was cutely decorated with Thai fabrics and had a tv screen playing videos of iconic spots in Thailand, which I thought was a cute touch. Let me first say, our server was so amazing. He was super attentive, patient, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the food. He noticed that I had a gift for my friend's birthday and he offered us a free dessert to make the day even more special. It was just so nice. He also took such great care with explaining all the options. The food itself was delicious. We both got the khao soi with chicken which were massive. Basically one dish could have fed the both of us! And the price was very reasonable. The dessert we picked was the roti pancake with Nutella and banana which was very unique and delicious as well. They also had all the other Thai classics on the menu such a pad Thai, pad see ew, and mango sticky rice. This location is in Cooksville but they do have another location in Port Credit. Not the easiest place to get to by transit but if I'm ever in the area again, I'm definitely coming back! Definitely a hidden gem in the GTA.

First off, it was boiling in the restaurant! There was no AC and they were only using fans. It felt like we were eating in Thailand. I hope they fixed the AC because it was not an enjoyably dining experience. Secondly, the service was quite slow. There was only one person working the entire dining area. The food was average and the portion size is okay. I had the chicken pad Thai, my husband had the pad gaprao, my friends had the papaya salad and the green curry.

The rice was slightly undercooked over oiled and flavorless . The shrimp were fresh but had more skin on than I preferred and not much seasoning to it. I was disappointed for my fried rice standards. On the other hand, the fresh veggie rolls were fantastic flavorful like Fourth of July in my mouth. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because the fried rice was made very last minute because they kind of screwed up my order a little bit so I'm letting them slide, but I'm sure the rest of the food is delicious.

We started with "Fresh Veg Roll" and "Fish Cakes" for appetizers and paired them with "Lychee Mojito" and "Thai Pina Colada"; very refreshing for a hot summer evening. We loved the appetizers; they were fresh and tasty. For main, we ordered "Yellow Pineapple Curry with Chicken", "Golden Pad Thai with Shrimp" and "Pineapple Fried Rice with Beef". Everything was packed with flavours and cooked just right. We ended our meal with the famous Thai dessert, "Mango Sticky Rice" which was delicious and beautifully decorated.

Very tasty. For the main, we shared. Had the Chicken Pad Thai ($20.95). Keeping with the theme, it was delicious as well. Final dish was Thai Egg Fried Rice ($20.95). Just like the rest of the dishes, it was very tasty. Finally for dessert we have the Butterfly Tea Tapioca ($8.00). It was warm & super delicious and a 100% do over as well. Disappointing Experience at Thai Barn Na Restaurant…read more Thai Barn Na restaurant is our go to place to celebrate our Birthdays. Always totally satisfied and impressed with the Waitress that is usually working. We never had a problem until Thursday December 4th This experience fell short of the expectations, we will not be returning. We are no longer going to promote Thai Barn as a" Hidden Gem". This location should be allocated for takeout only. Customer service is lacking in front end personnel. Our upset was a result. From past experiences, we were astounded that the $16.00 Margaritas were incredibly short. We were regulars and knew what to expect. We poured one drink into one glass. The Margarita was still an Inch from the salt ring. She came out with another of the same size. We celebrate birthdays and have been Regular CUSTOMERS for several years. When we pointed this out to server, she claimed that these were not the correct glasses. She was very rude, consistently arguing and did not try to soften the situation. We walked out! Never did this in our lives, walk of a restaurant in our lives. We were fortunate to get a reservation elsewhere and had a wonderful time despite the earlier disaster. They made over $300 sales plus tip, and we had the loveliest server. Thai Barn Na needs significant improvements in customer service. If she had not continued to argue the same thing she really angered us. Not once did she suggest she would take the drinks and offer an alternative, instead adamantly continued to argue with us. Perhaps this location would be better suited for Takeout only. It is unfortunate that it is necessary to write this to you.
