What a great little place in Ogunquit! I went last night for my significant others birthday. We have been talking about trying this "new" place for awhile, but the tourists scared us away a bit. The atmosphere is beautiful. Modern and open with big beautiful windows and great lighting. The bar looked welcoming and classy. I wouldn't be opposed to hanging out there with friends and watching a game. The waiter we had was also great. He was personable and had a great sense of humor. As soon as he realized we were locals he relaxed a bit (which I enjoyed). His recommendations were spot on! What brought us to this establishment was the ciopinno. The birthday boy is obsessed with trying it at new places. When the bowl came out I was very happy I decided to try this new place for dinner. The shrimp in the cioppino were large, sweet and cooked perfectly. The tomato broth was flavorful and had just the right amount of bite for the dish (that kind that hits you at the end). The baked stuffed haddock I ordered was perfectly cooked. The haddock I had was flavorful and moist enough to really add to the dish. The sherry sauce that was on it was flavorful and just the right amount to not weigh down the dish. The sides of mashed potatoes and mashed butternut squash were perfect as well. I was happily surprised by how good a steak place could be on the coast of Maine, especially when I didn't have the steak. Some others in my party wanted steak, being 'tired' of lobster (yeah, I know, I don't get it either). So off to Prime we went. Everyone loved their food - even me. While they had the steak (filet), I had the house salad and the baked haddock. (Darn it - I didn't go to Maine for steak!) The salad presentation was great. They added shoestring onion fries (or maybe shallots) which added an extra zing. The baked haddock was also wonderful. I wish I had room for dessert. For a steak place, they did non-steak pretty good. Service was good, attentive but not clinging. The valet parking guy was fun and promised to refund our money if we didn't like our meal. I've passed this restaurant probably 100 times and for some reason, I always thought it said Thai Place. So when I yelped a new seafood place to try, this popped up and I realized my mistake. So cut to the dinner. It was AMAZING! My sister and I split the Steak Bruschetta. It was just enough without being too filling. Lots of flavor. For dinner, she had the seafood trio and I had the crab stuffed shrimp. We both cleaned our plates and rarely does that happen. It was delicious. My stuffed shrimp was the best I've ever ate. Our server Andrea was so nice and very attentive. We were able to sit right away in the bar area as that is first come first serve. And the parking has complimentary valet. Everything was excellent from start to finish! We didn't make reservations and the hostess (owner's sister) sat our party of six in just a couple minutes. The decor is inviting and the bartender (owner) makes excellent drinks. We all ordered apps (scallops, French onion, calamari, Caesar salads) and steaks. The medium well filet mignon was cooked to perfection and not butterflied. Delicious sides of mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Get dessert. Preferably raspberry cheesecake. You won't regret it. Could not ask for better food or service. My friends and I dine out very frequently and this place was hands down the best steak and service I've ever had. EVER. Had a horrible experience tonight. Had reservations for 6:30 for 4, We walked in the rain to the restaurant on time. We were told that our table was not ready and it would be another hour. We had no place to sit or go to. They offered a tent in the back, our reservations were for inside window. The obnoxious hostess said they have no limit on time. Outside did not appeal to us. I then told my friend in the party how disappointed I was, she came over to me and said she didn't like my tone. I reminded her that I was talking to my friend. My friend went outside and called another restaurant that said they could seat us in 15 minutes. On my way out, I said to the waitress, you didn't like my tone, she said no, I whispered to her, too F'n bad (not the whole word). She followed me out the door yelling to everyone that I swore at her calling me an Asshole very loud. The restaurant had my number, they should of told me to come later. Poor help here She then leaves an untruthful response. We were all disappointed, I was not yelling, I did not swear at you, you were embarrassed for over booking your restaurant. If I was yelling, why then would I whisper to you that I don't F'n care if you like my tone. If I called you a swear like you called me one, that would be swearing at you. It was a private conversation I had with my party, they agreed with me at the door, you were listening in while we discussed going elsewhere. You make it seem like we were in the middle of your dinning room. My wife did not apologize for any incident as you made it an incident. She is way above you, she was being nice and said she was sorry, we will not be eating here. BTW, a man would whisper his displeasure to an ungrateful hostess, a business owner wouldn't follow him out the door yelling that someone just swore at them and yell asshole at him in front of your out door patrons and the Main Street. More untruths, look you obviously need the last word. Go for it. You and I know the truth, I did not call you any swear word but you defamed me by calling me asshole in front of the restaurant, friends and patrons, you also accused me of calling you a swear word, never happened. On my way out the door to another restaurant, I said, you didn't like my tone? You said no! I said to f'n bad. I did not call you any names or swears. You escalated it to the street chasing me out the door. Yelling to everyone that I swore at you and calling me a swear word. Even you said I whispered it. You were rude. Do you want to keep this going, let it go. I will never be back while you are there, I promise. read more

I had the best lobster of my entire life at Prime and I've had a heck-of-a lot of lobster. They served it poached and removed the lobster meat for me but kept the shell on the plate. The side dishes of brussel sprouts and squash were both fantastic. I also thought their wine list was pretty solid. The service was good, the prices were reasonable, and the ambiance is a cozy as you can get. The tell tale sign that this place is fantastic is that as soon as I returned to Boston, I wanted to make the drive back up to Maine to try Prime again. read more

My husband and I came up for an overnight "vacation" to Ogunquit. We Yelped and asked the folks where we were staying for their recommendations. We wound up here. We had not made reservations, and it was quite busy and noisy in the bar, so we opted to wait outside. The hostess was quite pleasant and honest about the wait time. We were seated just a a couple of minutes past the estimated time. The food was fine. Nothing spectacular, but solid. A bit overpriced, but this is a tourist town, so... Our waitress was attentive and patient (we took some time deciding on drinks and food), a few napkins were dropped and quickly replaced. She had a fantastic sense of humour. The four stars are based more on the service than the food. As I said, the food was not spectacular, but it was good. read more

Tried this restaurant for the first time (thanks to Yelp) earlier in December when I was in Ogunquit for Christmas by the Sea. It is definitely now a favorite restaurant of mine in the area! We had a girls weekend and we started off the dinner with some great martini specials. They had an eggnog martini, and I got one of their signatures that was something fruity and very tasty. We put a reservation in but we got there much earlier and they still sat us right away. The servers were attentive and quick the entire night. For my meal I got the french onion soup to start, and my sister and I split the fried chicken with honey. O M G it was so droolworthy. I can still taste it and can't wait to get back to get it again! The french onion soup was also great, but the potatoes and chicken were just out of this world. Everybody was very, very happy with their meals. The bread we got before dinner was super fresh and we weren't waiting for water refills for a minute. It's a great little place, so be sure to visit! The welcoming service was great. We came in late on Mother's day (night). So happy this place doesn't roll up early. Drinks were good. Apps were jumbo shrimp, fresh with a snap; fried calamari so good with a spicy sauce; pork belly, and bacon wrapped scallops were cooked to perfection. Filet mignon served with mashed potatoes and winter squash, all delish. Turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich was a mouthful of yum. The seafood in the spicy red sauce was fabulous. Everyone happy. Food and service was fine for us. Was here for an early dinner. Had the mussels, beet salad and stuff baked haddock. Also had a bowl of onion soup. Spent Mother's Day weekend in Ogunquit with family and decided to try That Place based on the overwhelmingly positive Yelp reviews. I'm so glad we did! We had a party of 7 plus a baby and everyone left happy and full. I had the French onion soup, maple bacon wrapped scallops and the delmonico steak for my entrée. Everything was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. With the exception of my green beans that were overcooked but still tasted great so I gobbled them up. Service was good. As expected they were busy, it took some time for our entrées to be served and we had to ask our waitress twice for more water. This is a minor critique not a complaint. We understood the delay and we're happy to spend time together. Dinner was a bit on the pricy side but we'll worth the money. We will be going here again! read more

I have to go 5 stars. It's really carefully crafted food. They got the scallops right and they are rarely done correctly. Loved my beet salad. Parking sucks but that is the only negative. This place was really nice. It seemed very new and inviting inside. I had a steamed lobster there and it was great except my lobster came out with only one claw....hmmm. I didn't say anything about that, but I did feel a little gypped since that's one of the best parts of the lobster..... oh well. After reading the comments on Yelp about this restaurant, my bf and I decided to go for a nice dinner. We knew it was kinda pricey. The restaurant is good, nothing impressive or elegant as I thought, but at least nice. We ordered the spicy calamari with siracha sauce, to be honest the dish was small for two. Then I had the salmon, with corn and risotto. Well, the salmon was delicious and the corn as well but the risotto... That was not risotto at all. Overcooked wite rice, it seemed more a rice purée than risotto. Really, the texture of the rice is very important and this ruined the whole dish. When you go to a pricey restaurant, you expect perfection in all sense... That's the reason of my 3 stars read more

Funny when you don't expect one of the best meals of your life. Place is top rate. Fancy, modern and loads of atmosphere - especially for a steakhouse. And the place has cutting edge style which is unexpected for Maine. Had french onion soup, steak - perfectly cooked, creamed spinach and caramelized pearl onions for sides. Amazing venue to host a milestone Birthday Happy Hour with 35 of my closest friends! The owner, Rick, could not have been more accommodating! The atmosphere, food, liquid refreshments, and service were all top notch and our guests raved about the celebration! A wonderful time was had by all. Definitely should be on the top of your list the next time you are in need of the perfect venue for your next special occasion! We never write reviews, but, after reading other reviews, we tried That Place in Ogunquit. It was excellent! We used the valet parking, and were immediately seated next to the front window. Our server was fast, curtious and efficient. Our party of 4 started with 3 apps - the beet salad, the mussels and the lobster crostini - all were excellent and generous helpings. For entrees, we had the cioppino (a bit spicy!), the pork chop, the berry-glazed salmon, and the baked seafood stuffed haddock - we would recommend them all! All were excellent, and we took home leftovers of all but the cioppino. Highly recommended!! One more thing -- the wine, beer and cocktail lists were excellent, too! read more

We went out with my in-laws, walked in on a saturday night with no reservations, they explained that they had many reservations, but if we could be done in 45 minutes we could be seated, it was very dark and cold where we were seated, the waitress promplty shut the fan off and put some more lights on, she was awesome, very attentive and took the time to make sure my father in law was okay(he is older and not in the best of health). The food was fantastic, cooked perfectly, all four of us throughly enjoyed our meals. Truly enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The food was very good. We tried 3 appetizers and 3 entrees, and all was delicious. The only reason I am not giving it a higher review is due to the terrible service we received from our server Mandy. She was not attentive, never followed up after our food was delivered, and never offered us beverage refills. Additionally, it was a birthday celebration which was ruined by Mandy's bad attitude. When I am spending a decent amount of money eating out, I expect good service. Would have given 5 stars if the service wasn't so lacking and our celebration ruined. :( read more

Came up for a mother/ daughter trip for the weekend and with lots of places closeing early in the evening, it wasn't the easiest task to find a place to eat at 7:30 on a Friday night. I found "that place" and after laughing about the name, which is very clever, we went. After surprisingly getting valet service for our car, we walked in to a cozy, quaint restaurant that blew our expectations out of the water. The smell, the atmosphere, the decor, the fire places ... so welcoming! Anything and everything we ordered from the bacon wrapped scallops, to the bruschetta ... WITH STEAK (yup with steak!), to the carbonara entree... every bite was "wow!" Would recommend to anyone any time of year to come eat here. So great! read more

What a great find! I saw the menu the night before and loved the beet salad and "that salad" options. The restaurant and bar looked as fresh and clean as my beet salad with grilled salmon. My wife and I have been coming to Ogunquit for over seven years, we've been to more restaurants than we can remember but I have to say the meals we had here last night were hands down the best we've ever had in Maine. Our server Gabriele was amazing!!! She knew the menu inside and out, was able to answer any and all of our questions and without hesitation made perfect suggestions for both my wife and I. We started out with the baked escargot and per Gabriele's suggestion the warm lobster crostini, both delicious!! For dinner my wife got the baked seafood stuffed haddock and I had the Cajun snapper, both strongly suggested by our sever Gabriele. We will definitely be back, honestly best meal and best service we've ever had in Maine! Thank you Gabriele for making our night extra special!! read more
