    Chicken Pad Thai Noodle

I always stop and grab lunch at Thainamite when I visit the Milwaukee Public Market. I LOVE Thai food and theirs always tastes so good. My go-to items on the menu are the fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce, veggie maki, Pad See Ew, and Pad Thai. My to-go order is usually ready within 10-15 minutes, even when they are busy.

We did a progressive dinner and came here for a sushi roll, as we were ordering a local walked by and said it's the best Sushi in Milwaukee! We split the crunchy roll & absolutely devoured it - soooo good! Highly recommend. Staff was very kind and the wait wasn't too bad even with the hustle and bustle of the market. Would for sure have gotten more if we hadn't already eaten so much! The vibes are really cute, we went upstairs to eat!

Tried the chicken fried rice, kappa maki and gyoza. All very good and served in a timely manner. The chicken fried rice had tomato which wasn't ideal but all was very delicious. Will be back.

I've been to this location prior and it's been much better. I ordered online and the food was ready prior to the estimate. I forgot to check for napkin and silverware so I went right back. I got the garlic pepper this time. The rice wasn't fully cooked. It was hard but it wasn't 100% done. The sauce was thin and many of the large cut vegetables didn't have any sauce on it. The vegetables weren't soft and difficult to poke with a plastic fork. The tofu was great though. The spicy level was also good. I'm not sure if they were just too busy and needed 5 more minutes to cook and not enough sauce or this dish in general.

Located in the public market, this place sells thai food and an assortment of sushi. The service was friendly, and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. There's a small bar you can sit at, if you'd like to eat there. Otherwise, there's ample seating on the upper level. We ordered the pad see ew with tofu which was good. Not the biggest portion size, but enough. Loved the tofu pieces, egg, and the broccoli. I'd def come back to try more dishes!

    Red dragon and spider roll

First off. The pieces in their rolls are huge! Too huge in my opinion. The red dragon was not spicy at all as was tooted on the menu. It was underwhelming. I prefer smaller pieces that I don't have to bite in half. The taste was okay. The spider roll was not the typical spider roll that I'm used to. I usually see them w/ big piece of crab on the end piece. This was uniform throughout. It was ok. Price was a little higher than expected. I think I paid about $25 for 2 rolls. I guess it's not as unexpected since prices are going up everywhere nowadays. But if you really wants some sushi, then try them out. I'll probably come by again if I'm craving sushi in the area.

Solid food for when we were craving Thai. Service was nice and relatively quick. Food wasn't the best I've ever had but it was still tasty and filling!

I've traveled to Milwaukee several times the past few months for work, and usually end up at the Milwaukee Public Market for at least one of my meals. I usually order Pad Thai from Thai-na-Mite, but this time switched it up and ordered the Drunken Noodles. This dish was out of this world incredible. I should have ordered another one -it was that good! I've been making the rounds since I returned home to Indy, but haven't found anything that remotely compares yet!

    Pad See Ew Noodles

Grabbed the veggie pad se ew today and really enjoyed. I added +1 spicy and if was just right! Cabbage, broccoli, sliced carrots, and other veggies, sweet soy, and egg noodles. I'll definitely return and recommend! Update: cook wasn't wearing a mask. Changed my thoughts on everything :(

    Chicken satay appetizer to go
    Emily S.

I had a pleasant experience ordering take-out from Thainamite in the Public Market for lunch. I've eaten there in person, but this time I used the Ritual app. It was handy to order, but a little awkward on the pick-up. We had to stand in front of the touch screen for a few minutes before we were acknowledged, although that is what you are supposed to do. Anyways, it was lunch time so obviously busy, but it would have been nice if someone had said hello or something, as we didn't know if we were picking up our orders the way we should. Anyways, on to the food. I selected the Chicken Satay appetizer and the Fresh Rolls. The Chicken Satay was tasty - the chicken was nice and tender, and the sauce was pleasant. The little shot of cucumbers in vinegar that came alongside was oddly welcome, but I do like vinegar. The Fresh Rolls were like a spring roll but with less vegetables and fried egg inside along with tofu, rice noodles, cucumber, and lettuce. On their own, they were somewhat bland, but with the sauce it was delicious; the peanut sauce is excellent. Aside from the awkward pick-up, Thainamite is a good lunch option downtown, and is a nice choice to have when eating in the Public Market.

Thainamite isn't the best Thai food in Milwaukee but it's always all-around decent. I've eaten at both the Brady St. and Public Market locations. As far as I can tell the food is the same, with Brady St. obviously having more seating. I've never had a problem with service at either location either. This is a 3.5 star review for the Public Market location but I'm debating about whether to round up or down. One thing I do like about the Public Market Thainamite is that they mostly stick to a limited menu instead of being all over the place with such a small space. They get a pretty big lunch crowd and they have lunch box specials that rotate every week. Lately I've seen signs for specials that aren't on the "regular" menu. More on this in a moment. In general you should stick to Thai dishes rather than the sushi. And I know it's tempting to get sushi. It's not bad sushi but they don't get the rice right. It's underseasoned and clumps together too much. So if your craving for sushi is that strong and getting to another sushi establishment isn't an option go for it, but know that their Thai game is stronger. You can't go wrong with a basic Pad Thai or curry. But I had seen a sign for a salmon poke bowl in passing a few times and finally had to try it. It was DELICIOUS. It's not as good as Ono Kine Grindz's is (no poke in town is) but it was lightly spicy and not overwhelmed with toppings. It hit the spot. On the note of their specials, they also now have a Tom Yum noodle soup which is probably worth trying. It's great to have Thai food so conveniently located, but definitely be sure to branch out and explore the other Thai food in the city.

Everything we had was delicious, expertly prepared, and had such cool presentation. We went for an anniversary and it was the perfect restaurant environment and very intimate. The server also included 2 complimentary glasses of champagne, which was such a nice touch. For starters, we had the gorgeous appearing Royal Flower Dumplings served with lettuce, the Spicy Fatty Tuna TatTar on crispy rice, and the pork belly Bao buns. My favorite item from the entire night was tuna TarTar, it was perfectly spicy and tasted so fresh, I highly recommend. I also think that the dumplings had such a wonderful presentation and were an experience, but probably would order a different appetizer next time since I have had them once. For our main dish, the drunken noodles were a must! The thick noodles were delicious and cooked to perfection. We also had Room Service Supreme Hand Rolls set (including spicy toro jalapeño, Saba, Yellowtail scallion, Ama Abi, and Salmon topped ikura) that filled us right up. For drinks, I had to order the One Night in Bangkok signature cocktail with such a fun lemongrass aromatic cloud (so cool and fun!), the berry-cation, and the Thai Godness. All were delicious and would order again! For dessert, we wanted to try something new and picked the Thai Tea Binsu. I am glad we tried it and it was yummy, but will probably go for their cheesecake next time. Overall, we had a 10/10 experience here!

That said, I'd likely get reservations were I to stop by again. They're a bustling little spot and saw several groups who weren't able to get a table without reservations while we were there. Where we sat at the bar, we were able to see the kitchen and our food (and others) begin prepared which was fun to see (and also nice from a transparency standpoint). Let me tell you--they are hustling in that kitchen! I began with a berry smash whiskey cocktail which was refreshing and fantastic. For my dinner, I got the bbq salmon which came with a salad to start and rice and asparagus on the side. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The only small note I had was I would have loved more asparagus but honestly, I could probably ask for a side of that next time to amp up the veggies. The service was lovely and the prices were reasonable. Get to it!

But luckily my husband quickly checked well before we were served and saw there were reservations available online, so he booked us one on the spot. We were then given two excuses, one by the bartender and a different one by the host as to why they couldn't honor the reservation: (1) there were no tables available for us (note the place was half empty, but we supposed maybe there were lots of reservations coming later--nope, the place was still half full by the time we left); (2) we had to make the reservations 30-40 minutes in advance and we didn't do that so even though we did have a reservation, they couldn't honor it because we made it too soon to the reservation time (WOW--complete BS). We were peeved but decided we should just enjoy our dinner. BUT as we were finishing up, about 5 couples came in WITHOUT a reservation and both the host and the bartender gave each couple the option to either sit at the bar or at a table. When I confronted the bartender about it, she claimed "they weren't supposed to do that." WHAT?! She literally just offered a couple a table without a reservation. What do you mean?! It was insulting. Anyway, we will absolutely NEVER come back here. The tip we left was solely for the kitchen staff who were hard at work and doing an honest job. Bartender and hosts are discriminatory and awful. Do NOT recommend if you are looking to be treated with respect. Would give zero stars if that were an option.

While the Xiao Long Bao is quite good, it is not great principally because the dumpling wrappers are twice as thick as the best versions of this dish making them chewier and very doughy. They are also so large you cannot enjoy them in a single bite and inevitably need a small bowl for leakage as you're eating them because you will make such a mess. Naturally, you want the ball so you can drink the broth that ends up in it. The Szechuan Spicy Wontons have a wonderful seasoning and sauce, but frequently are overcooked so the wrappers are a little too soft and mushy. I prefer them slightly al dente. The Salt and Pepper Chicken is consistently the best executed dish I've had there. Also known as Taiwanese, popcorn chicken, these bite-size lean pieces of chicken are perfectly fried and satisfying crispy. We were both surprised with how much we liked each sampling in our Sake Flight -- $12 (5oz) they went from dry to sweet as you would expect, and our biggest surprise was how much we liked the sweetest variety. Here are the three that were a part of our flight Kenbishi Kuromatsu, Gekkeikan Traditional, & Moonstone Coconut Lemongrass Nigori. An additional note, the service is generally exceptional, but the hostess stand tends to treat you as a customer to be processed not a guest to be welcomed. The interior is very basic. The tables are comfortably spaced by distance, but the bench seating is too crowded. Getting up to use the restroom feels like you're on an airplane where you're uncomfortably close to other diners. The duck was juicy and cut into thick pieces, so it was more of a steak rather than a bao style that I am used to. Nevertheless, it was delicious and even warmed up well the next day. The green onion wraps were...strange in my opinion. They fell apart easily and didn't have the best flavor that complemented the duck. Overall, I would come back for the duck itself, but everything else was average or extra salty. Service was great and the staff are very attentive. Happy eating!
