Experienced our first visit for date night and WOW! My taste buds are still jumping. Absolutely delicious, we ordered for an appetizer Cream cheese crispy, our two entrees were Tender Beef Sizzling Platter (that was my husband's) and he simply couldn't get my fork away from his plate, SO good! I ordered the chicken pad thai with a level 2 kick. The service was amazing, we unknowingly got there right before they closed and we offered to leave but they greeted us and insisted we stay that they wanted to serve us. Not sure what was going on here the night I went but we didn't even get a chance to order dinner. The Service was really slow. I was meeting my family here for dinner and I ended up being 40 minutes late. When I arrived my family only got 1 order of their appetizers and never received the rest. They didn't even get a chance to order their dinner yet. The waitresses never even addressed that my fiancé and I arrived and never took our drink order. We decided to just get up and leave. My family dined here last night( A Saturday at 7 pm. ). The restaurant was steady but not full. There appeared to be one waiter, a hostess who also waited and the cooks. We ordered 2 bubble ice teas and a hot tea, 2 soups( Tom Ka) and 3 entrees ( 2 Pad Thais, and a Drunken Noodle dish) nothing too complex. We waited over 45 minutes to get our beverages and another 20 minutes for our soups which arrived one by one with 8 minute intervals in between. So a total of 55 minutes before getting our appetizer soups. Then the pad thais came out first to the 2 of us while eating soup and the third diner waited another 10 minutes for their food to arrive. The staff made no effort of apology even though the 2 tables seated after us had received their more complex orders before us, had eaten and paid their checks before our last entree arrived. Basically the Service was absolutely NONEXISTENT. Food was just ok, had too much sauce and skimped on quantity of ingredients. I will never go back as there are far too many other Thai options with better service and better food in our general area. read more

We visited Thai Silver Spoon years ago. I received my entree with egg shells all through my food. I just couldn't eat it. I told the waiter and was offered a free dessert but did not want dessert. I couldn't even consider going to this restaurant for years. Recently I decided to give this restaurant another try, and the food was very good. Ordered some food last night and it was DELICIOUS!!! The veggies were perfectly cooked, so not too hard but not soggy, they tasted so fresh! Hands down the worst Thai food I have ever had. I got a level for heat and it was so hot it had to have been intentionally overheated. Likely because I ordered at 8:15 p.m. during the covid-19 quarentine and whoever made the food was super pissed off that she wanted to torture me. It is definitely overpriced as well because even the Wong Tong soup I got with straight salt that is all I could taste. The pad thai had absolutely no chicken in it and I definitely ordered chicken. Is there a way to give it 10/5 stars? Because there should be! I'm actually writing this as I finish my meal because I couldn't wait to share what a fantastic place and experience it was to eat here. I ate in, and everything was brought out while it was steaming hot. I got the spring rolls, which were amazing and cooked to perfection. My main course was tofu pad thai. It was delicious and the tofu was the best I've ever had. I will say that next time I will get it at a 1 level of spicy (they do 1-4),this time I got 2 and though I like some spice, it was a little too much! But yummy nonetheless. They went out of their way, once they saw that I was ordering the tofu, to make sure my meal was vegan. I am transitioning from vegetarian to vegan and I found it amazing that our waiter actually asked if I'd like the eggs taken out, and the sauce it's usually cooked in changed for a sauce that's not animal based. I've eaten here once since it changed names after being associated with Tik's family of restaurants. I was very happy with my dinner choice, a sort of beef and lettuce meal that was touted as a favorite among natives to the cuisine. However, my domestic partner of almost two years whom I currently live with and share many interests with including our taste in music, our lovely pets, outdoor adventures, and reminiscing about the time I asked him to do a load of laundry and he had ironically already started a load ordered the Pad Thai and it was not what I expected. Fantastic. Best Thai Food in the Dayton area, and yes I have had Thai Nine quite a bit. The food and service are great, everything comes out piping hot when ready. They have some really good specials going right now as I think they are struggling for business. The location leaves something to be desired, which I think is the only reason why they aren't frequented more. But for my money, Thai Silver Spoon can't be beat.
