Ate here with my mom last night. She ordered General Tso's Chicken. They served her sweet and sour chicken. I memtioned this to the waitress who called the manager to the table. The manager tried to tell us that sweet and sour chicken comes with brocolli and that General Tso's comes with pineapple. I pulled up a picture of General Tso's on my iPhone and showed her. Got no apology or acknowlegdement that anything was wrong. We left. Could not believe her lack of customer service. Food was OK, but service was bad! After I wrote the tip and looked at the overall price, it looked too large, so I asked for a receipt. I was told they can't provide a receipt as they "had to keep it"!! This is suspicious, so I insisted on a written one. It turned out they had already snuck in a 20% tip and not told us about it, so we added another 15%. This was their ploy - get a 35% tip !! When I confronted them, they acknowledged they had not told us about the tip (didn't look like they expected I'd notice). What kind of business are they running! Please make sure you check your bill carefully. They don't have any business automatically charging you 20% gratuity for a small party of 2 adults and 2 kids, and in any case, they sure need to let patrons know if tips are included. As a frequent customer, I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The family here treats all of their customers like they are also family - they are so friendly! I am a professional cook who has lived in Thailand, and the food that this family makes is the absolute best Thai cuisine that you will ever find in the United States, bar none! Even their takes on popular Chinese American dishes, like the General Tso's chicken, are spectacular and better than the original. There are NO disappointing dishes on the menu. Also: if you like hot and sour soup, and/or if you have a cold, please try the Tom Yum Gai soup. The combination of chili paste, lemongrass, galangal, and chicken stock is a perfectly balanced soup and it will clear your sinuses better than a decongestant. read more

We stood at the door for 10 minutes waiting to be seated and then finally someone acknowledged us by saying a table was being cleaned. We ordered chicken satay and Tom ka gai. The chicken and peanut sauce were so sugary you couldn't even taste the peanuts. Same with the cucumber salad. The Tom ka gai was extremely acidic and had no straw mushrooms. It was barely edible. Not Authentic Thai service was very good and we were hopeful however the menu stated Thai/ Chinese and sadly my drunken noodle was swimming in soy sauce we were told the medium was spicy enough and not to order Thai hot I realize now it's hard to make soy sauce Thai hot. Bad service is an understatement in regard to this travesty of a restaurant. My family and I ate here tonight. After reading many reviews, we were excited for a fine Asian meal on the beach. After waiting over an hour and a half for our meal, we realized we made a grave mistake. We were ignored until we requested the staff multiple times to take our order. When we finally got our food, we had the opportunity to be harassed by a senile old woman who felt it was a necessity to tell us her life story. The food was subpar at best. We found this place on the third day of our trip to OBX. After mainly eating seafood this was a very pleasant change. We had the chicken satay and chicken lemon grass soup as appetizers which were excellent. For the main course we had the Chicken with basil, Vegetables with pepper and ginger and the fried rice.
