Great location right on the beach! We had a quick 30 minute wait for a table near the beach on a Friday night. While waiting, we had drinks at the bar and the chicken egg roll as an appetizer. The ahi nachos were the best thing we ate although I wouldn't call them "nachos", it's just ahi on wontons. The fish tacos were good although the yuca fries were a little dry. read more

Wonderful view of the beach. Good service. I really enjoyed the crab and lobster grilled cheese. Go in the evening and wait for a seat with a view. read more

I have to leave a 1 star review because a 0 star is not an option. My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. We waited over an hour and 20 minutes for our food while several tables that were seated after us received their meals before us. Despite the long wait, there was very little communication or explanation from the staff about the delay. After waiting all that time, we were eventually told that our food had been burnt and had to be remade multiple times. Unfortunately, we never received our meals at all. Spending nearly an hour and a half waiting only to leave without being served is completely unacceptable. I understand that mistakes can happen, but the lack of communication, poor kitchen management, and failure to resolve the situation made this a very frustrating experience. I hope management takes steps to improve their service so other customers do not have a similar experience. read more

Great food, excellent service, and a great time. It's a hidden gem for sure tucked behind the hotel. We got the crab dip for an appetizer and it was amazing perfect for two. I got the painkiller and my girlfriend got a pina colada to drink. For the entrees we both got the lobster and crab grilled cheese. It was EXCELLENT!! read more

We finally get to visit after staying close to this spot and hearing music for years. It was rainy and some spots were not available. The hostess tried to be accommodating but we decided to eat at the bar. We asked for recommended drinks and food and decided on them. Overall the experience was good. People at the bar were friendly. We will try them again on our next visit. read more

3 out of 10 Review in short... This was our first visit to Beachcombers. The vibe and view were great. Great view of the beach and water. It was just the two of us and were sat immediately due to our small party -- I think the wait time for others was about 30 minutes. The drinks were awesome, but the food was less than average. See more info below. Service was absolutely horrible. We had to wait over 20 minutes just to be acknowledged. See more below. Manager was nice and handle our poor service correctly. See detailed review below. Food Review: We ordered the Potato Skins as an appetizer. The dish was mid -- 6/10. The cheese sauce was tasty, but the soggy fries (it was not actually potato skins, it was French fries) made it a little less appealing. My husband (who has celiac and is gluten-free) ordered the Crabcakes. He said it was ok -- 7/10. I ordered the Citrus Salmon and it was 4/10. No citrus taste (which was fine, I didn't rate on that) and as I got to the middle of the salmon piece, it was raw and mushy. I immediately stopped eating it. We were never asked if our food was ok. Overall, with the less than par food and absolutely horrible service, I give Beachcombers 3/10. The only positive part of our visit was the drinks. Poor Service: We sat at our table waiting for a server for 10+ minutes. Finally I asked another server if she could get ours so we could order some drinks. She was nice enough the take our order and said she'd notify our server. She went up to our server to let her know we were asking for her and she literally shrugged her shoulders and then proceeded to make us wait another 10 minutes. She finally came over to us. She didn't greet us, no hello or anything. She looked at us with the most disgusted look on her face and asked if we were ready. After taking our order we never saw her again -- no checking to make sure food was ok, etc. Again, we were required to wait an extended amount of time without ever seeing her. When trying to get her attention she simply looked the other way. I eventually had to ask another server to get the manager. I will say that he did buy us a round, but the interaction with our server after that was absolutely awful. She came and said that the manager had told her we complained about her service and proceeded to just stare at us with a blank face, no emotion whatsoever. We will never go back to Beachcombers. Atmosphere: Great! The beach views were nice (especially when having to wait forever for service) read more

Our server Bill, I believe was his name, was so attentive and great! We loved the ocean views while eating and the food was so delicious! I got the shrimp tacos and where they were a little on the small side, I enjoyed them! Overall price was good for a family of 4, an appetizer, and 5 alcoholic drinks, and desert. I would eat here again. read more

3.5 stars only because I don't know that it's a place we'll actively seek out if we're ever back in the OBX. That's not a bad thing, I just don't know that it'll immediately come to mind if we're ever back. But man, if you're in the Ramada or anywhere near by, damn. What happens if you take an actual foodie restaurant where the food is very tasty and attach it to a random Ramada in the OBX? This place. Ambiance 5 stars if you sit on the deck, probably 4 stars at best closer in because noise. Food: really flavorful and tasty. I liked my tacos a lot and the lobster and crab "grilled cheese" (the really wasn't much cheese and the portion was huge; they literally stuff two sandwiches full and give you 3 of those quarters) drew good praise too. As did the crab cakes and the Caesar which is a bisected and grilled wedge. There was a slight mix up with our group: two members got the crab cake main, one as it comes normal and the other subbed fries for the sticky rice (which wasn't sticky). We were accidentally brought shrimp tacos, so our server immediately apologized and went back. She'd grabbed the wrong plate. But also, the right plate still had the rice and then also a side of fries. It's an honest mistake. read more

This hidden gem is tucked away in the Ramada Hotel on the beach. Enter through the side or through the hotel lobby. Our server was excellent. She provided us with some drink and dinner favorites. Table seating is either under their thatch roof or on the beach patio over the sand. Food is good beach fare: wings, sandwiches, fish tacos and other kinds of seafood options. They have a nice selection of draft beers and beachy cocktails. Others at our table enjoyed the fun selections of Pina coladas and frothy drinks. read more

I love the vibe here. I came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. We sat at the bar and we had an amazing time . I had a steak salad and he had a seafood plate . It is amazing . I love the Beachcombers Tiki Hut! Was staying at the Ramada Inn and went down for a margarita. I ended up trying the food because it looked so delicious! I got the chicken egg rolls which were crispy and warm, with a nice sauce. The hummus and chips were yummy as well! Staff was super friendly! The tiki bar is fun , lots of TVs with games on , chill vibe. The bar is huge , plenty of seating. It is in the middle of the restaurant , and you can easily enjoyed the beach view from all areas . There are also tables for bigger parties with nice views too! Parking is plentiful, entrance is on the ride side of the hotel or if you're staying you can come through the hotel. With winter hours in place I was only able to go once, hopefully when I come back this summer I'll get to spend more time at Beachcombers Tiki Hut. It is a fun place to have a drink, relax , and be by the beach! read more

This was a pleasant find in the area! Cute location, super kind servers. I ended up getting the veggie burger (not my first choice, but yummy!). So crushed to get here to the Ramada and find out the tiki hut is closed till Tuesday. I guess my fur baby will miss her favorite restaurant this trip! I expected so much more based on the ratings. We stopped in for dinner and were able to snag a couple seats at the bar. We had to wait a bit for the bartender to acknowledge us. We ordered a couple drinks. My pina colada was flavorless, all I tasted was ice, so I asked him for a margarita instead. That was better. Then we ordered the peach habanero wings which were actually pretty good, they had a bit of kick to them but I was able to handle it and I usually don't do spicy. Then we wrapped it up because the service was kind of slow and there were lots of flies. read more

Location... Location... Location! Perfect spot for drinks and view of the ocean. However, bar tenders were not the friendliest. Got to the bar and there was only one spot left so my wife sat while I stood. Both bar tenders literally ignored us for awhile... no acknowledgment. Finally the female bar tender handed us a menu but no hello or anything. I finally got the male bar tenders attention and ask for a glass of wine for my wife. We found 2 bar spots after getting drinks and then ordered the Hummas appetizer which my wife loved. Tried to order some kids chicken tenders but they don't allow it. No big deal. Again, perfect location for a drink with a view of the ocean. Just a weird vibe.... Like all the bar tenders and waitresses didn't seem happy. read more

This is a hidden gem! I've heard it's a fave of locals! A friend told me about this place, hidden in back of the Ramada hotel. This huge tiki bar has a bunch of seating around the bar. There's also an outdoor seating area with lounge chairs and tables and chairs facing the ocean. Drinks are super cute and the amazing staff can whip up whatever drink you crave. I imbibed on a Pina Colada with an extra shot. Others in our group got beers and other cocktails. The food is ok, not fantastic but there is a good variety. Don't be fooled by the older hotel facade, the tiki bar in the back is cool! read more

Finally checked out this place after many times of saying we needed to go. The hours can be a bit restricting. We were easily able to grab a table for three at 7pm on a Thursday, but the bar was full. Our server Travis was very attentive. They had live music and it was really enjoyable. The ocean breeze was nice but it is all outdoors. We were presented a special menu which included a special entree and drink along with a full menu. Cocktails, beer, wine or frozen drinks - they can make what you want. The classic margarita was great. We started with the chicken spring rolls so very good! For dinner, we ordered the chicken grilled Cesar salad, the pork and rib plate and lobster and crab grilled cheese. All included a lot of food! Our favorite dishes were the salad and the Hawaiian pork and rib plate. read more

Don't go if you're a tourist. They don't want you there. Rude staff, bad atmosphere. It was extremely uncomfortable.

The view was great the food not so much. The coco lime chicken was bland and tough. Don't order. The DUCK RANGOONS was decent. The STRAWBERRY-APPLE SALAD was decent. The CITRUS SALMON was very dry. Overall ok. The service was slow like a turtle. The food was overpriced. read more
