Great OBX experience for the whole family. Super fun and entertaining dinner. Great Food hot fresh reasonable prices and prepared right before your eyes. The table fried rice was great had great flavor, great ingredients and was not greasy at all. For the proteins they were prepared and seasoned perfectly. We were a party of 8 people so we got to try a bunch of the hibachi offerings. Steaks were tender and delicious. The chicken was seasoned and flavorful not dried out. I am not a seafood eater but the shrimp smelled and looked awesome, the person that ordered it loved it. Pro tip 1 - if going for dinner especially with 4 or more people get there around 4-430 and wait in parking lot until they open the doors for dinner at 5. They don't take reservations so if you miss that window of opportunity you will be waiting for a while to be seated. Pro tip #2 get the if seated before 6pm coupon from the local tourist books it's 20% off each persons entree. Definitely saved us some $$$ The Chief was super engaging, talented, and very funny cracking jokes and full of great hibachi cooking moves. Our go to spot for sushi in the outer banks. It's not over the top expensive and they have some really great rolls for takeout. Easy to order on the phone and pay when you pick up, staff does a good job running the place. Not a big restaurant but they have quite a few hibachi tables as they are both a hibachi and sushi place. We had a fine meal here. It was not my best habachi experience but I don't think we can complain. We only waited maybe 10-15 minutes to get 2 tables for a large party. They have Sapporo Beer, which is one of my favorites. My wife and daughter had The Volcano, which was gone quickly. Parking was good. My daughter took me here to celebrate an early birthday dinner since we wouldn't be together on New Year's and this place did not disappoint! Both my husband and I had the filet mignon, chicken, and shrimp to accompany the fried rice! WOW! HUGE portions and the food was amazing! Had some hibachi from Fuji Steakhouse and Japanese Bar and it was a great meal. There are 4 hibachi tables and they have a sushi bar on the other side of the restaurant. It's a Saturday night and we were seated right away and the chef came 10 minutes later. He was funny, quick, and he cooked the food perfectly. I ordered the filet mignon with a side of noodles(charged extra). The hibachi dinner comes with soup, salad, fried rice, and veggies. It was very tasty and the proportions are enormous so you definitely get your money's worth. It was so much food so you better go hungry or consider splitting a plate. Ah... where do I even begin with this one? I have quite a bit of (good) things to say about Fuji Japanese Steakhouse. We had not been to a Japanese Steakhouse/Hibachi/Teppanyaki place since the start of the pandemic, so about two years. We love Japanese Steakhouses, so we thought this would be a nice way to close out our last night in the Outer Banks. We were expecting a typical hibachi experience-- but we got so much more. Upon entering, it's a pretty typical hibachi place, a bit plain in terms of interior design and a little cramped, but other than that, it's normal. There's a small sushi bar in the back. It's what you'd expect. However, once you sit down, things become a bit less... typical. Enter the teppanyaki chef known as "Spider-Man". (Yes, that's how he was referred to) Let me tell you... this man is FUNNY. I mean hilarious. You will laugh until your stomach hurts, I am dead serious. He has a lot of energy and the jokes just keep coming. They're seemingly endless. I swear, this dude needs his own comedy show. He's incredible. If you go, 1000% ask for Spider-Man. You will not regret it. He's also a very talented chef. The food is very good (especially the steak, get the filet mignon rare, it's awesome, especially when you dip it in the sauces.) I had sushi as an appetizer and that was also tasty. If you really want dinner and a show, go here, and ask for Spider-Man. I know I stated it before, but it has to be said again. This place is fully deserving of these 5 stars. The drive from Rodathe to Kill Devil Hills is 1000% worth it. (If anyone who runs Fuji sees this, give Spider-Man a raise. Please.) read more

This hibachi steakhouse was an interesting experience! To begin the restaurant is very small, walking to our table, we had to squeeze in between other tables, which was a little uncomfortable, even for average-sized people. We were served the soup and salad, very quickly, and they were both pretty good. The hibachi experience is where it quickly went downhill. To begin, our cook was VERY VERY animated - I know hibachi is supposed to be an experience, but the comments, jokes, and overall experience was just too over the top - so much so that we thought maybe we were at a drag queen show, not at a Japanese steakhouse. Then, the food made everything worse.... the chicken was COOKED, like COOKED, so bad there were chargrill marks on the chicken and black burnt pieces throughout our rice... after a few bites, we quickly decided we were not going to eat the chicken and just pick through the rice and eat the rice, not the hard charcoal pieces. When we were done, our plates still having over 2/3 of our plate with dry, overcooked, burnt food, the waitress asked if we needed a box. The answer quickly was a "no"... weirdest thing was she didn't even ask if everything was okay, she just took our plates and returned with the check. The entire experience really felt more like a drag queen show with inedible food. Will not be returning here which is unfortunate because we like hibabchi. read more

Went to Fuji for the first time Christmas Eve. On the down side, it is small and has a crowded feel, the inside could use a refresh with new paint. While Japanese Steakhouses are typically noisy, the small crowded feel just amplified it. That all said, the food was very good. Steak, chicken, veggies, rice done well and scallops were amazing. This place was very good! We got in pretty late for our stay at kill devil hills and with the steakhouse so close to our location, we gave it a try! I had gotten the chicken teriyaki with fried rice and vegetables as well as a side of noodles. I also got the shrimp tempura. Just like at any authentic Japanese steakhouse you get a soup, salad, and main dish. We got our food to go but the customer service inside was very nice. The shrimp tempura comes with two shrimps, broccoli, onions, zucchini, and sweet potato. Definitely has to be eaten as soon as it comes out for great flavor. The soup they provide is an onion soup which was pretty basic but still good. I ended up adding some of my noodles to it which was great. The salad was really good as it comes with a ginger dressing which was very refreshing. They provide really good portions and the hibachi was very delicious. We drove 16 miles there arriving at 232 PM and were told they stopped hibachi cooking at 230 but they could cook it in the kitchen and we could eat it at the bar. My wife and I were not happy. We enjoyed our time here. It's pretty much your standard hibachi meal but the food was really good and the price was extremely reasonable. Our chef was wonderful and entertaining and we all got a HUGE amount of food, we all took home leftovers for lunch the next day. My son was the only person that ordered sushi and raved about the dragon roll he ordered. The only thing I thought was weird was that the meal included fried rice instead of noodles (they were $3 extra and were also very good). The place is really small and is louder than most hibachi restaurants I've been to, which does make it impossible to communicate with anyone at the other end of the table. We have been coming to the Outer Banks for quite a few years and decided to try this place. It was a little grungy outside. However, looks can be deceiving. Unfortunately, it was grungy inside as well, but we gave it a try. We were seated and given our appetizers fairly quickly, and the chef started in a reasonable time. The food was ok, and although there were 6 adults and one toddler, at the table, the chef gave disproportionate amounts to 4 adults, my husband and I receiving the smallest amounts. The other couple noticed their smaller amounts as well by their facial expressions. We have been to several hibachi restaurants in the region, and this is the first time we have experienced this. Solid hibachi place. We showed up at 6:15 pm and seated to a table in about 10 minutes. Hibachi chef was good and interactive. Did some good tricks. Food was solid. Chicken tasty, and filet mignon was of good quality. My vegetarian 13 year-old had sushi and said it was great Sushi was avocado and cucumber. All in all, solid meal and fun.
