Another fantastic meal had by all! Fri the miso soup to the crazy tuna roll to the Singapore noodles, all was perfectly prepared, presented and delicious! Congratulations Art, you have created a fantastic team and Sue and I throughly enjoyed it all.

Fire cracker roll and tuna lovers roll

The flavor of each dish we've had here over the years is immaculate. We've never been disappointed by anything from the papaya salad to the sushi to the lemongrass soup. I have had a lot of disappointing Thai in my life and this restaurant is top tier and goes the extra mile in terms of flavor and freshness. Also the servers are very nice and make you feel right at home. Such an unassuming spot.

Hamachi carpaccio

Excellent sushi in OBX (and really anywhere). The quality was great and so was the service. We tried hamachi carpaccio, two rolls, and the local tuna nigiri special. If local tuna is available, get this! It was outstanding. Hamachi carpaccio is a must as well. The rolls were tasty too, and one came with local crab meat. We didn't explore too much of the Thai side of the menu, but did have a zippy papaya salad that brought the heat in the best of ways. Make sure you stop here on your next trip; I know we will! (Wear bug spray if sitting on the patio)

Tuna lovers roll and the bluefin nigiri set, to die for

The amazing food gets the 5 stars, service was very good too, but was a bit of a wait, even though they weren't busy at the time. Tuna was so good, beautiful and fresh, and so was everything else. The lemongrass soup was delicious, with a perfect spice.

Fried pork dumplings

TLDR - so good we came twice during our visit to OBX! Be sure to get the fried dumplings and and Crab Rangoon. Food - during our two visits we ordered the OBX roll, Hakaido Roll, Fried Pork Dumplings and Pad Se Ew. We found the OBX roll a bit flavorless and disappointing but everything else was so so good. My husband said the crab Rangoon was some of the best he's ever had! I thought they were good but a bit heavy on the cream cheese flavor and not enough crab. The first night I ordered the Pad Se Ew medium and it was spicier than I expected! The second night I ordered it mild and there was no spice. I wish there was an in between! The dumplings were standard but excellent! And the Hakaido roll might have turned me into a sushi fan - seriously, so good! The sauce adds some heat but it's not overly spicy. Vibe - the inside was quiet with plenty of AC. We sat on the patio the first night and it was so beautiful and peaceful. They have fans which add a nice breeze My ONLY complaint is that the bathroom didn't have a changing table. I had to change my 8 month old on a credenza that was in the women's room. Thankfully my baby isn't squirmy so it worked but it's really dangerous and inconvenient for parents.

I'm giving Bangkok Thai Sushi a 3 star rating. It might deserve more for its beautifully appointed and decorated interior - all the posted pics of the interior don't lie - it's gorgeous. But that doesn't justify imo the overpriced entree menu items (I'm sure they say it does lol). I was in the Southern Shores area right around lunchtime and thought I'd pick up carryout at the "other" Thai place close by that I love, Vilai Thai Kitchen (still my fave) - also open year round, it was closed that day! (Good excuse to call Valentine's Day a holiday and close, I guess? lol) So with Green Curry on my mind and having wanted to try out BTS at some point for comparison anyway, I called in a to-go order. In the process, I found out they don't have a Lunch Specials Menu - so lunch prices are basically dinner prices. OUCH. Still I went ahead and ordered. I ordered a single dish - Green Curry Chicken which came with a side of rice. Cost me $21.08 to be exact (tax included before tip). OUCH. If you check out their menu, pretty much every entree is about $20 each - more if you want beef or shrimp instead of tofu or chicken (the prices next to each menu item don't include protein - read the fine print for the upcharge to add your choice of protein). Frankly, I have a hard time paying $21 for one basic Thai entree for dinner much less for lunch. I hoped the dish would be amazingly spectacular... I got it home and was disappointed at the portion size - it was just barely enough for one. See all my pics - bottom line, the curry dish was good and ofc authentic, a little heavy-handed with the fish sauce for my liking and a slightly thinner curry sauce but still a decent dish. The chicken was tender and good quality. As I said, the restaurant interior itself is beautiful. I could totally imagine coming here for a really nice dinner or special occasion - a romantic place as well as good for groups (leave the kids at home though - more of an upscale adult dining place imo). BUT BEWARE: you won't be getting outta there without paying a hefty bill for your meal. Satisfied that I at least got to try this place once. Like I said, what I had (a classic Thai curry is a really good gauge - and I have Thai food wherever i go so I know my Thai) was good but sadly not 21-dollars-good - even at the beach. I'll stick with Vilai Thai Kitchen, not far South of here, if I'm craving Thai in the OBX. A much smaller place with way less ambiance but still quaint and charming inside but with wayyyy bigger portion sizes for lower prices (= better value for your money), and just as authentic AND DELICIOUS (the most important factor). Especially if you're doing carryout - you don't need to be paying BTS's higher prices. See for yourself - check them out and you be the judge.

I love sushi and due to my business travel have had it all over the country. The fish was fresh and plentiful. When you go to some sushi restaurants, the nigiri and sashimi can be short and thin. That is definitely not the case here. You receive nice slabs of fresh fish. Delicious! I also love Thia food. I wish I could have had more, but settled for the green papaya salad as my appetizer to be shared. My other guests had never had it before but everyone agreed it was very good. My wife had the panang chicken curry and enjoyed that along with some sushi. My two other guests also enjoyed their sushi and stated how fresh the tuna was multiple times. The place was busy but clean. I liked that Single Fin did not skimp on the sushi but also on the little things like having quality chop sticks. The prices were reasonable. Service was good but could have been better. I fully understand that beach service is tough and we were there after Labor Day. We are here for two weeks and will definitely return for more.

I ordered one roll and explained that once I finished, I might want to order a second. She said no problem, but never returned to check on me. Unfortunately, the food was just as disappointing. The noodles were overcooked and mushy, and the chicken was overcooked, coated in a hard, candy like glaze, and lacked any flavor. I also ordered a sushi roll with light sauce, but it came out with no sauce at all. Instead of correcting the order, I was given small dishes of sauce to dip it in myself. The tuna and salmon were surprisingly mild and nearly flavorless, which is not what I expect from sushi. The one thing this restaurant certainly delivered was beach town prices without the quality or service to justify them! Between the inattentive service, underwhelming food, and high prices, this was a disappointing lunch. Unfortunately, I left feeling that the experience wasn't worth the money, and I will not be returning.

There's also a large outdoor area with live music behind the restaurant. You can hear it from the dining area, but it's not too loud or distracting. The outdoor seating can feel a little dark in the evening, though. There is parking behind the restaurant, with a one-way entrance on one side of the building and the exit on the other. We couldn't find a spot there either time, though, and ended up parking in a nearby lot. Everything we ordered was very tasty, which isn't that common when trying this many different dishes. Everything also tasted very fresh. A definite highlight was the tiramisu. It's quite large, tasted very fresh, and was one of our favorite things we tried. Over our two visits, we tried: * Shrimp and pine nuts: the shrimp was excellent and not overcooked, and the dish wasn't spicy at all. * Shrimp and grits: very flavorful, with just a little bit of spice. * Clam linguine: a good amount of clams, and they weren't overcooked. * Southern tomato pie: good, although a little oily for my taste. * Ron's clam chowder: perfectly fine, but nothing particularly special; pretty much exactly what you'd expect from clam chowder. * Duck Dynasty burger: tasty, although the patty was a little on the thinner side. * Tatonka burger: very flavorful, though a bit salty. * Duck Brie LT: juicy and very tasty. * Burrata special: also very good; I don't think this one was on the regular menu. They also have a nice selection of beers on tap as well as non-alcoholic drinks. Overall, a really enjoyable place with consistently good food, a relaxed atmosphere, and friendly service. We'll definitely be back.
