After trying a place down the street with a 1 1/2 hour wait, we ended up at Miller's Seafood and Steakhouse in Kill Devil Hills and could not have been happier! We were seated right away and the service from start to finish was absolutely wonderful -- friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Our daughter absolutely loved the popcorn shrimp, and the hush puppy basket was a huge hit at the table. They have a slightly sweet twist to them that made them completely delicious and impossible to stop eating! The mashed garlic red potatoes were the perfect accompaniment to the perfectly cooked filets we ordered. We even took dessert to go and wow -- the Reese's cheesecake and key lime pie were sooo good and absolutely yummy! The perfect ending to an amazing meal. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and comforting. This ended up being one of our favorite meals of the trip and we'll definitely be back next time we're in the Outer Banks! read more

Stopped in while on vacation in the OBX, and thoroughly enjoyed my evening! After a long day at the beach I came into to Millers for some seafood and good wine and I got both!! My entree (which I forgot to take a picture of) was the scallop and shrimp special which came with fresh veggies! It was ok, the scallops did have a fishy smell but it wasn't overwhelming, and the texture seemed normal but I'm not sure how fresh they were. The meal itself could use a bit more seasoning as well. But overall it was good enough to eat. The crab dip however was amazing! And the hush puppies came with powdered sugar and a sweet creamy butter. I've never had hush puppies served that way, it was delicious. The restaurant was super busy when I came in so I sat at the bar, the bartender was very attentive and friendly, she handled the crowd pretty well. I would come back next time I'm in town, but I'll avoid the scallops! read more

Our family thoroughly enjoyed Miller's. The wait was reasonable, and the food came out hot and tasty. The fried oysters were excellent and those hush puppies were different and great! The sifted powdered sugar was extra good! My friend had the crab cakes and she said that they were delicious. He had our table, a huge table of about 10 or 12 people, and at least another table behind us (he may have more that we didn't see). He never missed a beat!! Our order was perfect. We asked for more butter and an additional drink after we placed our meal order and he remembered everything and delivered promptly AND also kept up with his other tables. He was also not stressed or rushing around. He was very patient, didn't rush us, had a calm and sweet demeanor. He obviously listened well and had his mind on his job! Sushi and Justin: I celebrated my birthday here last Sunday. There were five of us in our party. Showed up at 4:30, seated immediately. My birthday "present" was having the BEST server ever - Justin. Excellent service/friendly/offered suggestions/ refilled drinks. Could not have ask for a better server. We got the "boat" sushi - and then two more sushi rolls. Sushi was also amazing - hats off to the "sushi chef"............. really enjoyed my birthday here and again - EXCELLENT service Justin! THANK YOU! Great dining experience here. We were hoping to sit outside and watch the sunset because we had our dog but it was a bit too chilly and windy. The staff was very accommodating and gave a great seat inside. Service was great and the food was what we were craving. We ordered the hush puppies and Bang Bang Brussels sprouts. Excellent. We've been coming to OBX for many years now and I believe this was my favorite meal. The place was very busy but they still sat us right away. The waitress Renee was always available but not overly in our face. We ordered mozz sticks for an app, which were good but the table really loved the hush puppies. They went so fast! My young son and I split the ribeye special (ours was 16oz but they had a 24 oz tomahawk on specials list too) and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. My other son had carbonara with chicken and my wife had crab cakes. No complaints about anything but we were all too full for dessert. read more

After a terribly disappointing experience at "the other" Miller's -- Miller's Waterfront, our party of 6 decided to try "Miller's on the beach road" last night. WE'RE SO GLAD WE DID! Fantastic dining experience all around!! The wait was 45 minutes when we arrived, and our buzzer went off, and we were seated within 15 minutes. The menu was varied and reasonably priced (given the ridiculous costs restaurants are paying right now). Our server was the best server we have had in two weeks here -- SHOUTOUT TO WYATT! Food was delicious-- the Pamlico flounder was massive and (unlike their waterfront counterparts), there was an impressive choice of side items. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant and attentive. I almost didn't want to write this because I feel like Miller's Seafood & Steakhouse is a hidden gem, but it's amazing and I wanted to share the bright spots in an otherwise lackluster lineup of Nags Head restaurants this trip. If the Millers are all one family, the folks who run this restaurant should get a shot at the waterfront location because their business model, menu, and staff are so SO SO much better! read more

This is one of my favorite places! The sushi - 10/10. I love the Cheesesteak roll but they are all delicious - I have tried a few. This morning, I had breakfast at Miller's. I had the french toast which was very good. Then I went to Miller's for dinner. I had the rib eye which comes with garlic butter. The rib eye by itself was very good with a lot of flavor, but the garlic butter just takes the flavor and taste to a new level. The baked potato was also good. read more

Although there was a bit of a wait to get a table, it was a delightful restaurant. Eat early or late for your best bet to get in. Our server was an efficient person who offered suggestions and delivered food promptly. Basket of perfectly cooked hush puppies arrive only minutes after arrival. I ordered crab cake (broiled) with side salad (upcharge) and french fries. My partner ordered the fisherman's platter. Salad was strawberry and feta with and raspberry vinegarette. Fresh greens, plenty of strawberries and feta, just a nice salad. Crab cakes were all crab with no discernable filler. Fries were fries, I only ate the crunchy bits. It was really a great deal of food (for me). SO's platter was beautiful and perfectly cooked. We did not order a dessert. There is just so much food. Ambiance was of a very nice steak house. For a restaurant right across the street from the beach it was surprisingly a really nice place. The staff were very friendly and helpful and our waitress, Sydney had a great personality and was very knowledgeable and helpful with the menu. The hush puppies were not like normal hush puppies. They didn't have onions in them but had powdered sugar and butter. So delicious. Get there early as they fill up and the wait can be very long but if you do have to wait rest assured it will be worth the wait read more

I had the Surf & Turf and my NY strip was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Others in the party had the Seafood Trio, chicken tenders, fried shrimp, chicken tenders and a cheeseburger. We ordered 2 cups of sea crab soup, which had the consistency of sausage gravy, was very salty and over seasoned with a plastic flavor and literally had two pieces of crab meat in it. We ordered one broiled, fisherman's platter and one fried kill devil Hills platter. Not a chance the seafood was fresh at all. The flounder on both platters tasted old and was super dry, and you can tell the shrimp and crab cakes were not fresh whatsoever, and had been frozen for a while. The fried seafood breading was soggy and cooked an old oil. The place was completely packed so maybe I had a bad experience, I don't know. But I'm not gonna spend another $120 to find out. read more
