This place is such a good find in OBX for so many reasons! The most important reason: the food is great. We ordered the fried green tomato special of the day, which came with burrata and salad. It was incredible. My partner ordered the catch of the day, which was blackened swordfish with risotto. He loved it! I ordered the mahi mahi BLT. They were extremely generous with their portion size for the fish, bacon, and especially the fries. The ambiance is very nice! Inside had plenty of space for folks to be seated without being crowded, but it was never too loud. They have bar seating, tables, and outdoor dining. The art is locally sourced. I signed up for their waitlist to get a reservation, and it worked! I was able to snag one. Thankfully I did, since they were busy and had a wait for over an hour for walk ins. The place looks really nice on the inside. We got the wings to start. Although I thought the wings were cooked well I did not like the sauce/seasoning they have. It has a gritty paste texture to me, which I really didn't care for. My Bf got the tuna noodle and said it was really good. I got the cheesesteak which was pretty big! Excellent dinner! Went the Wednesday prior to Memorial weekend and there was a 1.5 hour wait. We went to the bar outside a found a couple of seats because it was a gorgeous evening. Great outside area just beyond the bar with chairs, cornhole , etc for everyone to enjoy. After a few drinks a couple of more seats opened up and we decided to just eat at the bar. The bartender couldn't have been better! A great personality and very attentive to everyone at the bar and yes, the drinks were great! Food was delicious. Great food and service in bright, sunny restaurant which is modern with a beachy feel. Dined here for lunch and was very happy with the meal. I had the blackened mahi-mahi BLT sandwich which was perfectly cooked and served with over a pound of french fries. Not going to lie; the fries were fantastic. Nicely seasoned and not greasy. I ended up eating the mahi open-faced to avoid spilling on myself but the fish, tomato slice and lettuce were all delicious. It also came with a crisp pickle spear. My wife got the ceasar salad and added a skewer of blackened shrimp. The shrimp were tasty but could have stood a little more spice. They have a nice wine selection including a good selection available by the glass. Also a nice beer selection with some local/NC beers on tap. It seems like a normal thing for some of these places, I don't know if it's the rush or amount of people trying to eat but the hostess lady was so rude to our group. I went in to get the reservation (expecting a long wait due to the crowd) she told me it was an hour and a half. We were totally fine with that, they have a great area to wait in the rear with corn hole, chairs, and a bar. But she made sure to tell me several times about the wait and asked me multiple times if I really wanted to wait that long. It felt like I was being pushed into not dining there. The wait ended up being a little over an hour. We got seated outside and it was beautiful and not too hot. Now let's get to the food. Our group ordered the buffalo shrimp as an appetizer and it was phenomenal!! We got the crab cake dinner, crab cakes sandwiches, and fish and chips for the entrees. They were all delicious as well. Our waitress was super nice to us and made sure we had a great time. So to end it, the food, waitress, and building/grounds was excellent and highly recommend (5/5 stars). We haven't been back in over three years so this is a new review for them! Three times was the charm for us to get in as the times and lines can be long! But we arrived earlier than the normal dinner hour and only had a 10 minute wait and with a 92 year old - the waiting time matters! We chose several items from the menu including crab cake dinners, fish and chips, buffalo shrimp, the mahi BLT and two of the night specials - sesame crusted tuna stir fry and the sandbar seafood platter. The food was amazing and plentiful and I wish I had ordered the stir fry as that was literally top notch! This has been one of our favorite spots over the last 2-3 years. Always a wait for dinner but have a great ambience with fun games outside and can grab a drink and listen to the live music while waiting. For appetizers, the shrimp and tomato app and scallops is a must. We got these both times and look forward to them every year. For dinner, I got the cheesesteak with homemade whiz sauce which hit the spot and plenty of leftovers for me. Fries were also delicious. In the last year or two they've moved to a much larger building (which was very much needed because they're so popular). Parking can be tight depending on what time you go, but GO! This is the first time I've tipped 30% because the server went above and beyond explaining the menu and making suggestions. The food got mixed reviews only because my kids are very picky but they said the fries were amazing. The cheesesteak sandy was unique so make sure you like lots of cheese, which my husband did. TIP: make a reservation well in advance! My husband and I walked in for an early dinner, and were told the wait was 2.5 hours. I had the Fried Fish with French Fries I will highly recommend the regular tartar sauce my meal was amazing and if you have more than 5 people it will be a blast. Such a treat. For the appetizer, we had the special which was the shark bites. The shark bites were amazing. The shark was firm but not tough. The sauce with it complemented it perfectly. The catch of the day was a blackened tilefish. The risotto the fish was on was good as well as the fish itself. Nothing amazing but definitely delicious. For dessert we had the flourless chocolate torte which was just like a slice of fudge. It was dense and super chocolatey with a little bit of whipped cream to add a creaminess. Delicious dessert. They have the BEST Cesar salad I've ever had in my life!! I always add it as a side to my meal. We drove into OBX and wanted to stop by this hot spot for dinner around 8pm. The owners are from our hometown of Staunton, so we like to stop by when we can. This place was happening! 2+ hour wait for a table, but bar is first come, first serve and there were two seats for us! For those that do wait, they gave an awesome outside area with plenty of hang out room and they had live music. Bartenders were super busy, but attentive and efficient!
