Hamburger steak with gravy and onions is a great entree for lunch or dinner. Topped off with mashed potatoes and fried okra all the better!

My mom and I stopped here on a Sunday on our way to Fort Raleigh. We were told to select a seat and someone would be right over. The place was hopping, but there were a few tables open and a server came over immediately getting our drink orders. I ordered a simple breakfast of scrambled eggs, home fries, which were crispy and good, a biscuit, and bacon. The breakfast was your average breakfast. It was good, but nothing stood out. The servers and staff were hustling and really putting in the hard work. Our server was genuine and friendly. What I didn't like was that pesky credit card fee that was added onto the bill. If there would have been a sign posted, or we were told there would be an added fee of using a credit card, we would have paid with cash. My mom didn't know the fee was added until she looked at the receipt.

Quick service and excellent home-cooked food. My hubby was craving pancakes and I had the biscuits and sausage gravy. So good!

Nice hidden gem local hangout with some amazing pancakes and breakfast items. Typical diner food but prepared at a very high level.

We shared a cup of Shrimp and Roasted Red Pepper soup from the daily specials. It was delicious, with a little tartness that gave it backbone. Perhaps from sour cream. It was perhaps a little bit overthickened but was short of pasty and we enjoyed it. I would have been happy with a bowl of this for my lunch, but I had other plans. The decision is easy for Ms T. I know before we leave the house that she is ordering fried shrimp and they are excellent here. They are large, plump, tender, flavorful and cooked just right. They don't have a silly heavy batter. Lately we have had at least three instances of undercooked shrimp. These were perfect. They were accompanied by a mound of very good French fries and some acceptable slaw. The sauce for the shrimp is a very good, mustardy sauce. I ordered Baja tacos, blackened and did not regret it. They are served in nicely toasted flour tortillas with cabbage for crunch and a creamy sauce. The mahi was seasoned and blackened well. It is served with a good roasted tomato sauce and some beans over rice. My only regret is that I should have asked them to omit the onion laced pico de gallo. Two large tacos were too much so one came home with me. This was a great lunch for Valentines's day.

I personally will always get the fried oysters if they're in season, but they're also known for soft-shelled crabs (my sister's favorite). They have daily specials too! We also love the crab dip with pita triangles - YUM! You can almost make a meal just on that. I love sitting at the windows overlooking the sound because there's a big nest there -- fun to watch the birds. The service is usually pretty good here.... can be a bit on the slow side if they're really busy. There's a bar area, and also check out their apparel selection.

They catered our wedding on 11/29/2025 (2 days after Thanksgiving) in a not-so-easy-to-reach location on the 4x4 beach in Corolla, NC. Everything from start to finish was perfect and the food was DELICIOUS! We loved everything about our experience with them. They have extensive menu options and worked with us to pick the perfect dishes for our brunch (we had a Saturday mid-morning wedding). We live in Alabama and they worked with us to schedule a tasting when we were near the Outer Banks and easily made changes to our menu when we asked them to. They even accommodated our request for an avocado toast bar (an off menu add on) with different options for guests (such as smoked salmon, bacon, feta cheese, etc) . We had a zoom conference a few weeks before the wedding to finalize every detail. Their professionalism and attention to detail is top-notch! The day of the event -- wow! Their crew was so professional and thoughtful. We had passed hors d'ouvres and a staffed brunch buffet. They went out of their way to make sure my husband and I had food during the reception and prepared a large tray for he and I to have leftovers the next day. Everyone attending gave them rave reviews and I would not hesitate to hire them again. The most popular items were the London broil, the deviled eggs (with bacon jam), and the stuffed French toast, but EVERYTHING (shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, mini quiches, etc.) tasted amazing. Caroline, Immanuel, Victoria, and Courtney -- thank you for helping make our wedding day EPIC! C & C
