Jam packed tiny little place. We had a brief wait and then got seated at the bar. Service was very quick and prices were good. They know what they're doing there. Because we were seated at the bar, we had a good view of the grill and watched the cook adeptly cook the orders. It was kind of fun to watch. It was really too loud to talk much but the food came quickly and was delicious. I had a BLT and I enjoyed it very much. The portions were huge! We stopped here to enjoy a weekend brunch. That was a great decision! Although we had to wait a bit to get a table, the staff was efficient as the indoor dining area is fairly limited on space and tables. They offer a good selection of classic breakfast/brunch entrees. The pricing is very competitive, and the portions was large. We like to point out that their Biscuit and Gravy is excellent! Service was fast and efficient. First timers. We just moved here from Hawai'i and wanted to get lunch. Spoke with a few people and they highly recommend Art's place for a great burger. I tried the habanero bacon jam burger expecting some heat. No heat what so ever. Tasted sweet like a bell pepper. Needed just a touch of salt,season salt. We did takeout. The food was well packed and traveled well, including the fries. Hamburger was tasty and good size. Got my money's worth.

Everything was great from the service to the food but let me tell you it gets packed fast cuz right now it's a very small dining area I guess just during the day maybe they open the upstairs during the night and it's definitely too cold to sit outside. A small hole in the wall diner/restaurant with full bar service. They offer mostly handhelds, and have a nice beer/wine and mixed drink list. That said, the burger is the star here. Juicy, cooked to perfection, served on a Martin's potato bun (IYKYK), with any of an assortment of toppings. I had the pimiento burger, it was terrific. Pretty cool place that gets crowded quickly! Service is a bit slow when crowded. So expect a wait for seating and food. Definitely check out the front deck... it has a slight ocean view. They have outdoor seating on the sides and a backyard area. We went on a Sunday and they had live performances which was pretty cool. The food is good. We tried the standard burger which was good. We also tried their 5 alarm burger, which had spicy mustard and jalapeños. It was tasty and not spicy hot. So if you like jalapeño flavors, it's worth a shot. Also, try their sweet potato fries which I think is better than the regular fries. read more

Wow.. now that's a burger. When they say 1/2 pound patties they mean it. I should've read the fine print but glad I didn't! My double bacon cheeseburger was amazing and cooked perfectly. Bacon and Swiss was the way to go!! Hands down some of the best fries on the obx if you ask me. Only bad thing was we discovered this on our way home and weren't able to eat it at least once more!!! Great atmosphere, great food and great help!! The help were all amazing and was fun to watch the guys do their thing on the grill! I don't care what you think! ! The food is ok! I found it to be good but not great ! We had to sit at the bar! The other table was used for I guess staff children! Limited seating! It has a bar scene! The hamburgers appeared to be made by hand! The over cook every burger! It was nice to see everything made in front of you! I found a little bit of bone in my burger! It was little dry. They put some type of liquid with very little salt on the burger! My wife's burger tasted different ! It had more flavor! Fries were excellent! We got ranch ! The place movers very metered! It's very friendly!the egg on the burger was fine! It's a very salty local place! I didn't like closing the kitchen at 10:45 and being made to sit at the bar on high top chairs! I thought the hamburger was large but my flavor was bland and not cooked to medium as indicated! Service was fantastic! The employees were welcoming and easy-going with our medium group of 7. We arrived right before the dinner rush around 4p and got to sit inside. There is a lot of outdoor seating as well! It is kid friendly and the atmosphere is very beachy-chill. Parking is pretty good depending on the time you arrive but they do have a small parking lot on site. We started with drinks and chips & mango salsa. The server was very kind and asked if we wanted to place the kids order with the appetizer but we decided to wait. The salsa was fresh and had a slight kick to it but it was delicious and refreshing after a long day at the beach. The chips were thick and crispy and perfect for dipping. I was about to order the Five Alarm Burger (Pepper jack cheese, grilled onions, jalapenos & spicy mustard) but at the last second we realized there was a specials menu (only one paper menu on the table) and thankfully my sister saw the Chupacabra burger special! The burgers come with natural cut fries and the patties are huge! They were cooked perfectly and the portions were more than enough to fill your belly. The great thing about the burgers - besides the taste - is that the buns are thinner so you don't feel super heavy after eating THE WHOLE THING plus fries My husband got the Swiss Mushroom on Rye and said it was good but that the Chupacabra was definitely better. Delicious is an understatement. We arrived on the tail end of breakfast and stayed for the lunch setup. We were partial to the burgers since first coming 4 years ago. Our boys loved them then and the quality has not waned! We sat at the bar and watched Sue, Larry and the team operate with respect and love, which is NOT always easy in tight quarters! We ordered the Old Bay Wings, Western and Carolina Burgers - all were delicious! Treat these guys and gals with care. There are precious and doing AMAZING things! Delicious local spot for breakfast! Stopped in with a party of 2 and had a 20 minute wait and then we were seated at the counter. Fast service and the food was delicious! Husband enjoyed the sausage gravy and I loved the breakfast wrap (basically a breakfast burrito!) Lots of great veggies in the wrap. I added a side of extra crispy hash browns and they were yummy as well. The pancake is plate sized and has great flavor. Coffee was good too! Highly recommend grabbing breakfast here if you can. Just a heads up that there are only four tables inside and the counter. We came on a rainy day and don't know if they serve outside on the picnic tables. read more

Stopped into Art's Place for breakfast before heading out of OBX. We were looking forward to breakfast but did not anticipate how long it would take to wait for our table or food. The food was fine but we were pretty hungry after waiting for so long. I would order breakfast TOGO next time and just sit at a table outside behind the building that were not being used for dining in. The inside is extremely tiny and only a handful of outdoor tables near the front of the building were being used for dine-in customers. If you are in a rush or have a large party I would recommend going somewhere else. I will say the staff was great! They were constantly hustling around the restaurant and assisting tables or greeting new customers coming in. read more

Funny story. Went here today 9.3.25 for breakfast with myhubby. Had very good french toast and 2 scramble egss he had 2 eggs over easy with bacon n hone fries. DELISH !! Then our kids (30 yr olds) wanted dinner tonight from there. So we got there at 340pm. Ordred and got sodas quick. Food came ip shortly after that and was so awful none of us finished anything. Rueben.mush swoss burger.chick wrap and baha burger. Awful. Worst part about it.....the whole staff left us alone in restaurant for a good bit of time. no silverware..condiments.. then 1 waitress a blonde came out n helped. Ate breakfast here two days in a row. This is a locals spot based on the clientele but they treat tourists just the same. Breakfast sausage was a hit for us. Apparently it's made just for this restaurant. They fill up fast so get there early or expect a wait. Great staff. read more

What a treat! We're were able to get breakfast and a show. We were right in front of the grill and the guys were fun. The service was outstanding and the food was great. We stopped at Art's Place across from the beach last week for lunch. Kinda looks a little whacky on the outside, but it was very casual and inviting on the inside. The food is where this place shines though. Sorta an open kitchen concept so you got to see the cooks working hard and putting out food fast. We had to wait a few minutes for a table but it was worth it. Wait staff was attentive and busy, but handled it with ease. Plenty of parking in the lot on the side and around back. They have live music outback too, and also allow pets outside I believe. For lunch we had the fries which were seasoned well, kinda peppery. I had the prime rib sandwich with some au jus. It was pretty mouth wateringly delicious and the bread was so fresh. I needed a fork though as some of the meat slipped away from me. I'd definitely return. read more
