On a rainy windy nor'easter day we stumbled into Bobs. Stormy our waitress was amazing, very personable, answered all our questions and at the end delivered the catch line perfectly! I love Bobs Grill! It's my favorite place to eat breakfast when in Outerbanks. I usually get the grill dill but have tried their omelettes and pancake too. Everything is delicious! The food here is phenomenal! Bobs (eat and get the hell out) is a great family run diner in Kill Devil Hills that has an established small town beach vibe. Went in for breakfast on a Sunday morning and the place is busy. Our server was awesome, she had her timing down pat like a seasoned veteran. My coffee cup was always topped off, our food was out in good time. Payment was at the table. They have a good-sized parking lot but it fills up quickly, I recommend walking if you are staying at a nearby hotel or vacay rental. I ordered the special; a waffle with sausage, bacon, and ham on it. Add syrup and you have a great blend of salty and sweet. Their waffles are moist on the inside and firm on the outside. I ordered hashbrowns with cheese on top. I asked if they had green onions. They didn't. Chive? No. So I had then add some onions and peppers, sour cream and a side of toast and large cranberry juice. Hash browns are supposed to be shredded. Instead I got hash-potato cubes. She forgot the sour cream when the food came out so I asked for that again. Instead of getting a dollop of sour cream I got a tube of it. The "hashbrowns" cost $8.14. The large cranberry juice was $7.29. Really? Really? All that cost me $19.44. read more

Went here this morning after reading some of the good reviews. I got to the front door at 6:45 a.m. to wait until they open at 7 AM. I am in a wheelchair and sat outside the door with my service dog until they opened. At exactly 7 AM. The young lady came and unlocked the door push it open to make sure it was unlocked. She looked directly at me coming to the door. I was 2 feet away from the door and she walked away. I am in a wheelchair and unable to open the door myself. I said, excuse me catching her attention as the door shut and she continue to walk away. So if Bob's grill's management reads this message, they should have a talk with the young lady who opened the door at 7 AM on August 12. Who knows maybe it wasn't just this girl everyone there might be as rude and un-empathetic as she was. This was very unfortunate because we come to the Outer Banks very often and have never had an issue with anyone being rude or disrespectful until this morning. read more

I've always had really good experiences at Bob's Grill. This visit, my husband and I both ordered bacon and eggs and biscuits. He got hash browns and I ordered grits. Our orders arrived super fast, and our server topped off our coffee cups several times. The bacon was crisp, the eggs perfectly fried with crispy edges, and the biscuits were big and fluffy. Hubby liked his hash browns better then I liked the grits. Next time I'll get the potatoes. Overall the food was really good, the prices were very reasonable (for 2025) and our server was sweet and efficient. That's why we keep coming back to Bob's! read more

The service from Earlene was outstanding. She was very warm and made sure the meal came out to our liking. I ordered the seafood omelet and it was perfect. It came with a large amount of shrimp which justified the price. Earlene also provided some hollandaise on the side which complimented the eggs well. Loved the energy here!! Greeted with "hey baby, what can I get you?" by a feisty and friendly server! This place has a cool diner and we loved sitting at the counter where all the action was! We loved listening the the clatter of silverware, the buzz of the conversations, and the banter between the servers and the cooks! What a lively and fun vibe these folks have created! My friend and I ordered a typical diner breakfast of eggs, sausage, grits, biscuits and fruit. Everything was delish, eggs done right, biscuit buttery and fresh, grits a bit soupy, but the butterflied sausage links were my fav part of the meal! The sausage links were juicy and had the perfect zing to them, and the portions were satisfying! Priced fairly and quick service! This spot reminded me of that old show "Alice" where the servers are spunky and sassy but efficient, it was totally part of the charm to "eat and get the hell out!" I had high expectations whenI went here for breakfast, and why wouldn't I? It's been voted "best breakfast" from 2012-2018! Now I understand why they didn't get anymore awards after 2018. The only good things I can say about Bob's Grill is that the pancakes were pretty good, and the servers were very friendly. The "famous hash browns" had NO seasoning and was mostly overcooked. The egg also had NO seasoning. The sausages were undercooked. So I had to take my leftovers home to cook & season them, which is a red flag for ANY restaurant! Went here with a group of 12 people yesterday on our way back from the beach. Service was good and the food was mostly decent but we realized this morning we were incorrectly charged for a few items so I called to discuss and was told I needed to come back to the restaurant to get a refund. Despite explaining we live hours away and would not be coming back they claimed they could not issue a refund via credit card. That service is really unacceptable and seems like a lie as there is no way they can't issue a refund via credit card. But in general this place is overpriced and I would recommend you save your money by going elsewhere. The bill had lots of random fees on it including a 1% Dare Co Food tax and a 4% environmental fee which we were not charged at other restaurants in the area. Several items do not have prices on the menu - mainly the drinks and I feel that we were scammed into paying $6.99+ for a glass of orange juice that we would have otherwise not ordered had we known. (And a warning - a cup of coffee is $2.99 and but an iced coffee is $7.99) - would have been nice to know that before the bill arrived. read more

Ugh. We've been here before with no issues but I was so disappointed this morning. I was happy to get in and get the hell out as the slogan says. The eggs and pancakes were burned. I had to send my daughter's back because "it smelled like s'mores" and she wouldn't eat it. The waitress was irritated and said "what am I supposed to do, carry it in my hands?" And made us clear off her plate so she could take away the burned pancake and had her biscuit, bacon and eggs on our plates. Why couldn't she just bring a new pancake on a plate and leave the burnt one there? The service was slow to start. Took 20 minutes to get drinks. Food came out quick. Coffee refills were plenty. My son liked his biscuit and bacon and hash browns. Took another 20 minutes to get the check. They put the card reader in your face and say "do you want to add a tip on your card?" (Not really but I'm not a jerk). Really wanted to get the hell out and couldn't. Avoid if you can. read more

Had such a lovely time here. I can't say enough GREAT things about our server, Helen. She was probably one of the best servers I've had anywhere in my entire life & I've been to plenty of restaurants throughout the country. She was upbeat, funny, helpful, and kind. She definitely made the visit much more enjoyable. I would definitely ask for her if you are going. Ambiance is fun and colorful - somewhere you want to go when you're looking to have fun. Bob's Grill has a great little seaside town Ambiance and wonderful customer service. The food was amazing too! I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict with an over easy egg and Hollandaise sauce. It was incredible!! My husband ordered an all meat omelette with side of sausage and hash browns. His omelette was full of delicious meat and super moist yumminess! They also serve Mimosas! Highly recommend this wonderful place that all the locals visit for breakfast. Our waitress, Earlene Rose, did a wonderful job and I watched her take great care of her customers.
