Been coming here for years and always enjoyed the food, but the Peruvian pop-up menu was a fantastic surprise. The Jalea (fried seafood platter) was outstanding -- crispy, fresh, and packed with flavor. The flaky white fish was especially good. We also tried the papa rellena, tamales, empanadas (beef was my favorite), and Old Bay fries. Everything was delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly, service was excellent, and the casual outdoor seating made for a great experience. Best place in the area. My family was getting disappointed with the food around. We decided to try this place out. We only ordered off the Peruvian menu. It was so good; we almost cried. It was the best food we had all week. The owners were very kind and very helpful. They were very excited to have someone order off the Peruvian menu. We are so happy to have found this place. We grabbed lunch from Ten O Six while in the area. The service was great and staff were really friendly. I ordered the beach road burrito and really liked it. Other than the fact that the food here is totally delicious. The people that work here or own it are extremely accommodating and very nice. I walked in and ordered a bunch of stuff and didn't have my wallet. They were willing to let me come back and pay them the next day and I suggested Venmo and that became an ordeal. Ten O Six was such a wonderful part of my OBX experience! The staff were super friendly and more than willing to chat and give suggestions for the area. The food was delicious and affordable! With a good breakfast menu and the addition of a Peruvian menu, they had a wide variety. I ordered the Beachcomber burrito and the empanadas. I'm usually pretty picky about my empanadas, especially chicken ones, but they were incredibly well done. (I will absolutely be going back for more!) I came to OBX today with an open appetite to savor some of the most delicious foods that the OBX community have to offer. Starting off with Ten O Six, this was the first on my list and it did not disappoint. I asked for their recommendation and the top dishes were all Peruvian food. So I ordered the Peruvian tamales and oyster basket, and my god, they were fire! The tamales were moist and bursting with flavor. It was the best tamales I have ever had, and when I say that I have had thousands and thousands of tamales from around the world. The oyster basket was prepared to perfection, not greasy, not overly heavy with batter and not soggy. The homemade fries were flavorful and the oysters were fresh and succulent. The prices of food at this establishment is very reasonable and the location had outdoor seating for patrons. I just wished their restroom was made public, but I understand that this isn't always made available by other restaurants in town as well... not sure why. Anyhow, I give this place a 9/10 score! The owners are great and friendly! The food they prepare is done with love and care! I'll be back!!! read more

Service was super friendly on a slow Friday afternoon in the off season. No inside seating but there is a fair amount of room on the porch with seating. Same owners of the restaurant own the bottle shop at the far end of the porch so you can get beer and wine there with your meal (and the bottle shop has a proper bathroom :)). We got a lot of the fried seafood (crab cake, shrimp, and oysters), which were bready and not super flavorful (shrimp was dry and overcooked). French fries were soggy and not worth the calories...I didn't get to taste the fish and chips or reuben sandwich, but the people in my party who ordered those seemed happier with their selections. Let me begin by saying this is a more of a grab & go/carryout location, unless you don't mind eating out on patio (weather permitting; limited seating). We ordered a 2 egg platter, (Belgian-style) waffle, large biscuits & gravy, & Beachcomber breakfast burrito. While the first two entrees are typical/standard fare, I would have to say the biscuits and gravy--aside from biscuits being a tad bit dry--is not your typical flour sausage gravy and possibly may contain cheese--it's not bad, just different. I'm not an egg lover, but my husband raved about the breakfast burrito. He says he'd give it 5 stars--He wished he upgraded it to the one w/more ingredients. Great value for what you get. Best little breakfast deli in the OBX!!! Me and my fiancé come here almost every morning every time we visit the outer banks, and the food is always amazing and not over priced like a lot of other places around here. We've also come here for lunch too, and i love their fried seafood baskets, i particularly like the fried oyster basket, they definitely give you your moneys worth in food. There's not really anywhere to sit inside since it's more of an in-and-out type of place, but they do have picnic tables right outside that we sit at when it's nice outside. The people working here are also always so nice and welcoming, which always makes us wanna come back too. This place is 10/10 and I rave about it to everyone. read more

Pretty surprised this place has almost 5 stars. We showed up 12:30 on a Sunday, barely anyone here, and couldn't have had a worse experience. Our experience at the register and with another employee was weirdly uncomfortable. The food was not good, old, and poorly prepared. My shrimp were tough and over cooked, my cocktail sauce was frozen, the coleslaw was kinda warm and looked like it had been prepared days ago, and my fries were obviously cooked in ancient, dirty oil, because they were dark as hell, as you can see, and oil logged. I didn't bother finishing, not even worth the calories. We ended up going somewhere else. I guess people must come back starving from the beach or they had an off day or something at the restaurant.
